Attended a wedding here which was great! Really good venue.

Went to a family wedding which had reserved the whole facility. Quite simply, the venue was superb throughout. Best wedding food I’ve ever experienced. Great DJ had the dance floor full from the word go. But, above all, it was the customer service that was sensational throughout. Highly, highly recommend!

I travelled from Edinburgh to meet my friend, who had travelled from Yorkshire, for lunch, which we had booked through Open Table several weeks earlier - a site that asks for a credit card number and warns of financial penalties for ‘no shows’. I confirmed we would be there, in response to a message, the day before. My friend then contacted me to say she could no longer find the menu, and sure enough, we then could see a banner saying the restaurant was only open for private functions. Phone messages and emails remain unanswered. Why use a booking system that lets customers book a non-existent service? We won’t try again. Very disappointing.

Nice bar in great location on the quayside. Excellent service

Came here for just a couple drinks with a friend. The guy behind the bar was. Very accommodating and a top bloke. Not a cheap bar but fairly standard for a Newcastle city bar. I was impressed by the design and staff. I’d be happy to come here again.

Celebrated our daughter’s Masters Graduation lunch by booking a table at this lovely riverside restaurant. We were so well looked after from beginning to end…. And a special mention to the wonderful gentleman who was so enthusiastic, friendly & professional(sorry didn’t catch his name) Thank you for making a special day even more special!

I popped in to Chart House to meet friends and was impressed by the contemporary interior decor and welcome of the staff. I had a pint of Spanish lager and sat at a table near to the bar.

I had a wonderful time at the Chart House, a new restaurant on the Quayside that offers a modern culinary journey through the Maritime Spice Route. The restaurant has a stylish bar and a cosy bistro, both with stunning views of the river and the bridges. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the manager Soto greeted me personally and recommended some dishes and drinks. I started with a cocktail called the Chart House Punch, which was a refreshing blend of rum, pineapple, lime and grenadine. It was served in a beautiful glass with a slice of lime and a cherry. The cocktail menu had many other options inspired by the Mediterranean, Arabian and South China seas, such as the Turkish Delight, the Arabian Nights and the Shanghai Surprise. For the food, I chose the ravioli with spinach and ricotta cheese, which was cooked to perfection and had a creamy sauce with a hint of nutmeg. The portion was generous and the presentation was lovely. The menu had a variety of dishes, from small plates to large plates, featuring ingredients and flavours from different regions along the spice route. Some of the dishes that caught my eye were the seabass with saffron and fennel, the lamb tagine with couscous and the chicken satay with peanut sauce. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was moist, rich and delicious. It was the perfect way to end my meal. The dessert menu also had some exotic options, such as the baklava, the mango and coconut rice pudding and the chocolate and chilli brownie. The Chart House is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal and a drink, with a great atmosphere, beautiful interior and mouth-watering cuisine. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience in Newcastle.

Staff threw brown sugar at me and my girlfriend for using outside chair to tie a shoe laces walking past *This happened on the 15th October 2023 anywhere from 10am-12pm

This place is wonderful. From the stunning decor, to the excellent wait-staff. And the food! I think it surpasses the Moroccan food we've had in Morocco. Just... A great experience.

Lovely food in a great location by the river I'm Newcastle. Service was super friendly, good choice of fish, meat & vegetarian meals. Excellent pint of Jute from the Salt Brewery, couldn't fault the place at all.

Dog friendly with a nice view over the quayside. Friendly staff and decent prices. Only had a coffee but it was very nice.

I came here for a quick dinner before gym and unexpectedly I was absolutely blown away. The manager soto was very quick to greet me and see to my needs , practically had a drink on my table in seconds , recommended the seabass and again extremely tasty and the waitress amy was smiling away and making me feel like my evening was brightening up . I was going to go to gym but the atmosphere seems to be keeping me here.

Always walked passed this venue that was closed for years and always thought it looked amazing. Last week we had the chance to actually have dinner there and were absolutely amazed. Polite staff that make you feel welcome and the food was out of this world. Highly recommend the sea food dishes (pan fried salmon and sea bass) we had between us. Definitely coming back as the atmosphere is excellent and the view of the Tyne is unbeatable.

A great place on Newcastle's quayside with a beautiful view on river Tyne.. We went there on a busy Saturday for lunch and were welcomed to the fist floor bar and treated to some cocktails while our table was being prepared. We had the ravioli and fried squid for starters and monkfish and seabass for mains.. The food was simply exquisite and our host, Sotos, and the rest of the staff made sure we have a fantastic experience with their cordiality and professionalism

We have seen this restaurant on many trips to Newcastle but we never seem to be in the right place at the right time. Tonight we lucked out, what an absolute delight. Sadly the restaurant wasn’t busy which was a shame. We ordered the buffalo mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes and the calamari as starters. Both were very good. The main courses were the best sea bass dish I have ever tasted and also the cod. My husband said the sauce with the cod was superb. We shared the crime brûlée cheesecake which was the right size portion. The service was exceptional, I apologise that I didn’t ask for the servers name, he was very welcoming and knowledgable. This s one of the best meals we have had in Newcastle since our first time here in 2017. We will certainly recommend you to others and hopefully will return ourselves .

Amazing view of the Tyne and Quayside. Loved the ambience. Not to mention the food is mouth watering to say the least. The portions are small yes, but the small portions are so expertly done they will do things to your taste buds

Had pan fried sea bass and ribeye steak, absolutely tasty. Both fish and steak were juicy and tender. Particularly liked the crispy fries!

A great restaurant situated near the Quayside. Visited just before the bank holiday. We enjoyed some lovely food. It was a little quiet in the restaurant, but this would not deter me from returning in the future or recommending.

10 of us visited for a special work lunch during restaurant week. There was our group and another couple but although there was space all over the restaurant they put our tables right beside each other? We were promised a table overlooking the Tybe

Ate here with a friend this week for the first time and the food quality was top notch. The staff were amazing and attentive and whilst quiet when we went in, the atmosphere soon took hold as the upstairs section filled up. Would definitely go back.

Decent boozer, definitely go back

Came here on the 8th August with my daughter to celebrate my oap status . Everything about this place is 5 star from the moment we stepped inside till the time we left . Our waiter was extremely helpful in helping us choose from the menu . The food was absolutely stunning . I had calamari for starters and seabass for mains I have to say it was simply divine . Fantastic service from everyone. From the moment we went in and ordered a drink at the bar to the service at the end our meal. The service in the restaurant was top notch! Food was perfect. The place is looking and feeling great.

We only discovered they were no longer serving food after we had bought a bottle of wine. All of us we discussing food as we walked to the bar and it would have been very difficult to miss the fact that we were looking for food. Was good wine though!

We tried the Chart House out last night after looking for somewhere new to go for food in Newcastle, we were not disappointed. We had a window seat upstairs overlooking the Tyne and the Sage, the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere and the decor is really nice. The staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive but not overly so. Most importantly the food we had was delicious and was reasonably priced with a decent choice on the menu. Would highly recommend and will be back.

My friends and I had lunch at Chart House, Newcastle to celebrate my graduation. Not only were the portions bigger than we expected but the food texture and flavours were excellent especially the smoky chorizo sauce and salted caramel chocolate brownie with ice cream. Thank you to Amy and Jimmy for a splendid service, we really enjoyed ourselves!

Absolutely amazing atmosphere, beautiful interior and most importantly - DELICIOUS FOOD. The waitress was very nice, checking on us every now and then, and recommending a brilliant wine pairing to our choice of meal. Couldn’t be happier with the service! We have ordered Lebneh (5/5!), Roasted Chicken (5/5) and Seabass - which is probably the best - cooked deafood I have tried, it was just RIGHT on every level. We will definitely be back and I can’t wait try to other dishes next time (I heard the steak there is amazing) All in all, I highly highly recommend!

Searched re restaurants on Quayside for our visit. Not disappointed in anyway in fact it was a very nice evening all round. Food was excellent and staff/chef were amazing. We loved it. Particularly loved whipped goats cheese starter, and the sea bass main. Nice decor too with view of the river.

Visited for a celebration lunch...the food was fabulous, plenty of it and all our plates were clean😊... The staff really made it special for us.. Lovely clean restaurant with lovely atmosphere, good staff, good food and lovely position on the quayside.. What's not to love!..will be back. Thank you

Stopped in for lunch on a visit to Newcastle, and it was excellent. Not only was the food excellent, it is a beautiful building in a great location on the riverfront. Additionally, we were greeted by the owner and manager who was incredibly nice and friendly. I highly recommend the Chart House restaurant!

Roasted Cod with herb crust and Pork Skewers both very good. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Would definitely recommend.

Very elegant and friendly staff , great food and good selection of beers

It was a quieter night than when I've been before because of the rain; the interior decor is attractive so it didn't matter. We had a pleasant table next to the window with a good view of The Sage. The maitre d' was really lovely and chatted to us and looked after us very well as did our lovely waitress. We all really enjoyed our meals and desserts. Two of us had the Szechuan Aubergine vegan option which was full of flavour and the others had the salmon and the sea bass mains which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Such a nice and cool place. The food is delicious, it's got a great selection of drinks and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Totally recommend it.

Arrived for a coffee mid afternoon. Spoke to the Manager Dimitris and one of his attentive staff. Stayed until 10pm for food and a wine. An excellent position in the centre of the quayside, very clean and efficient service. I’d recommend this for outside dining...

Amazing service and very inviting

Had a brilliant evening meal here followed by some lovely cocktails. Ambience, decor and service were top class. The food though was the shining star: fantastic choice, wonderful flavours and perfectly cooked. Seabass was perfect and steak was delicious. Will definitely return.

We stopped for a drink and ended up eating here on a whim. It was fabulous! Amazing staff who couldn’t do enough for us. The food was divine, a really good selection of small and larger plates to suit all tastes and appetites. I don’t live in Newcastle but if I come back I’ll definitely pay this place a visit again.

Last night we decided to try the Chart House on Newcastle Quayside. This was a last minute decision and so pleased we made it. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. From the initial welcome to the moment we left what a fabulous place. The manager Dimitri and all the staff were extremely friendly and certainly went the extra mile. We decided on a outdoor table and the service was magnificent. Food was served with drinks and in a timely fashion. The overall experience was that good we decided to stay for more drinks and soaked in the quayside atmosphere. We were then shown around the restaurant and what they have to offer. This was one of best meals and experiences ever. The food was absolutely perfect. Really must highlight the dessert which was made by an in house pastry chef. The cocktails were the best in Newcastle. The decor was perfect. And the service impeccable.

Great service and mediocre food. Servers were very polite and pleasant. Salads tasted bland and were very overpriced for what I received. Absolutely no flavour.
