Rackstraws in Bracknell Forest

We visited on Tuesday 9th April at 7:35pm. The restaurant was about 30% full and 5 workers at the front of house, including drinks. The first perplexing moment came when we were being seated. We asked the lady if we could sit at the table immediately behind the one she assigned but were told 3 words: "no you can't". (The table we wanted and many other tables remained empty for the bulk of our mealtime.) When the food came, we were asked if we wanted any sauces. We wanted ketchup, barbecue & mustard. However, the same lady flagged up that barbecue sauce was an extra 99p! It felt she was almost funny by then. Around 8:30, the restaurant was about 1/4 full, staff started to set up breakfast for the next day - moving tables and chairs away from the middle, opening up the breakfast bar, etc . There was so much for us diners to watch, be it somewhat puzzling as to timing and appropriateness. It took us a long time waiting for the bill, having asked 10 to 15 minutes ago. Only when chased, it was explained that their tills were fine though the card machines were down; the manager was trying to fix. We informed them that we intended to pay cash, not instead. The final confusion came when the bill eventually presented was wholly wrong: the cocktail deal was wrong as well as the food prices. [If they want to response to this, no glossy reply please!]

After a few disappointing times at Bagshot Beefeater we decided to try Rackstraws Sandhurst which was far more superior...were met by Hostess called Donna who was super friendly ordered our food which was lovely great customer experience definitely recommend and will return again 😀

We went to beefeater for a dinner. Was busy Monday but we received amazing service provided by Magda who was smiling and sorry for any delays. Food was tasty and hot very recommends this place

Really great value for a super meal. Sirloin steak cooked by the chef - Alex was as good as you would get in a fine dining restaurant at half the price. Friendly and efficient service by Pav was much appreciated and completed a very enjoyable experience. Many thanks

We are a group of ladies who try to meet up every month at Rackstraws,Sandhurst. We met up today, but sadly we were missing one lady, because she passed away very suddenly on Easter Sunday. The service we had from Donna & the team was excellent & we all enjoyed our lunch. We did stay rather a long time but not once were we made to feel as though we ought to go. So, once again, thank you Rackstraws for helping us get through our sad but in the end our happy afternoon.

Another fabulous sunday roast. Cooked by Great staff, Ryan, Ethan. Our lovely waitress Donna always smiling no matter how busy it is. Ben and Julieann in the bar warm and friendly service. Staff here are a creditvto Beefeater.

Seems a limited menu from last time i went to a Beefeater but the food was great. Blue light card accepted!

Had fish and chips, batter was a bit soggy and oily, otherwise OK. Service was excellent.

What a great place to have a drink at; and a meal too: the food is amazing and so are the drinks and service from Jake & Donna in the bar.

Lovely evening, prompt service and the food was lovely, had a small issue with my food, which was acknowledged and the Staff and team couldn’t of been more apologetic and resolved it quickly, we were served by AJ who was an absolute delight and her bubbly personality was contagious and she really made the evening for us! Sadly staff cuts mean service has gone down and prices have shot up. Very short staffed at the bar and now closing early when customers are in and drinking. Seems strange. Why do that when there are 20 people drinking in the bar. Biscoff ice cream horrendously over priced btw

We went as a party of 8 for a family birthday. The food was hot and tasty. We had the table we requested away from the main area. Sophie our waitress was lovely.

For the price this is good value, made even better with a voucher! Service was pleasant and accurate and food was good, better than have had from many similar large chains. Fat chips are nice as don't go cold like skinny ones!! Good atmosphere with plenty of parking.

Lovely place and nice staff would be better if they lit the log fire as it was bloody freezing in the bar area

Came here for a family meal for Xmas normally go the the parkway beefeater but this one was closer for everyone who came staff were very friendly restaurant was clean the food was very nice and at a good price there were 5 adults 4 children in total and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Had a meal here the other day. Went for the Xmas dish, turkey and the trimmings. Fair sized portion but the turkey was completely tasteless. Shame. The sweet was better, I had Apple pie and custard. Ambiance was ok, lots of kids so a bit noisy as you would expect. It was kids eat free...so quite a few there. Service was ok had to wait quite a time to get orders in, but otherwise, it was curtious.

Perfect gluten-free meal, a long as I ask for a gluten-free menu, my meal is perfect. Had a lovely lunch with ex work friends.

To be honest, it was better than I expected. Google reviews for this place in the past had not been great so I expected the worst. Remember that this place plays towards the budget end of the market and is a bit formulaic (it is a Beefeater chain - what do you expect?) but the food was surprisingly good and the staff pleasant and attentive if a little bit slow at times.

Service was slow but this was due to staff shortage. Our waitress was lovely and did her best. Fish and chips was excellent and the prices are reasonable

Arrived at 10.31 for breakfast, told kitchen closes at 10. 30 to prepare for lunch, so will try and arrive before 10.30 next time

We had a meal here last night 18th Nov a party of 7 for our granddaughters 16th birthday we were so disappointed by the food that was dished up to us some had the Christmas menu which was over cooked and dry the steak also was tough and I myself had the gammon which was tough and over cooked so I dought if we will ever return yo this beefeater again it totally spoilt our granddaughter's birthday

Unlimited breakfast for £9.99 bargain

Booked table for 1.15pm, arrived at 1.10, told table not ready go and get a drink and wait. Returned at 1.30 as no one came to get us. Then, I was told no roast beef or roast lamb, just chicken. Short of staff, so one of the chefs came out to serve food.

If your looking for a good value breakfast, this should be on your shortlist. For 10 pounds per adult (kids eat free), you can enjoy an "unlimited" cooked breakfast and unlimited continental items (pastries, cereal, crumpets / muffins / pancakes / toast and yoghurt). While the food isn't Michelin star, you cant fault the value and staff were very friendly and receptive to our needs (pistachio allergy). The company advertise an unlimited cooked breakfast but we were only asked once for an order and the breakfast items were itemised which meant you felt obliged to order a reasonable breakfast. I'm sure if you wanted more they could accommodate. Overall, I would recommend this place and will certainly go again.

A family lunch where we wanted a good menu selection and this was just right. Everything tasted good and the fish n chips won the day However service was slow because they need more staff the servers were lovely and helpful but couldn't keep up with everything. More staff for lunch service and another chef for desserts is really a needed.

Food that is great value and good on quality for the price. Decor is a little dated and well worn. They really could do with more staff on shift as this has a detrimental effect on service during busier times.

Had roast chicken yesterday and you couldn't cut the roast potatoes I had to break them and eat what was inside my partner had the same problem it was as if they were deep fried and stuck together. Will not be going back. I told the waitress to tell the chef to learn how to cook potatoes and she apologised.

Typical Beefeater/Premier inn place. Nice selection of simple and tasty meals that don't cost the earth. Staff are pleasant, quick, and efficient.

Absolutely terrible. Went for a family Sunday dinner. Thought it was strange when the place only had 2 other tables occupied, everyone else obviously knew better. Most of my meal was inedible. Couldn't get a fork in the parsnip as it was that dried out, brocoli was a shrivelled black stem, potatoes were stale. One roast dinner didn't even get parsnip, stuffing or brocoli, we had to ask for some vegetables. Meat was ok and service was pleasant. But would definitely not recommend.

Went for breakfast for my partners birthday and the staff could not be more disinterested if they tried. On arrival the women who greeted us was very rude. The cooked food was awful and left feeling rather sick, noone on the table enjoyed food and everyone ended up leaving almost all the food. Poached eggs were that over cooked they were green and went new ones were sent they arrived in a puddle of water. Tried to pay of 3 separate occasions just for the people to walk away aswell. Will not be returning.

Beware of the badly setup air-con which can give a non-stop cold draught.

Been here a few times, except the odd busy weekend night this is an amazing place to eat, and the food especially the cheesy fries are exceptional. The cocktails and mocktails here are well presented and taste delicious, would absolutely recommend trying.

the worst service every. Walked out after 1hr15mins having not got any food. I had already gone to the bar to collect my drinks after staring at them for ten minutes. We have been there a few times over the years and go there when we're desperate - so my expectations are low - but this was unreal.

It was very quiet to our surprise as the food was delicious.

Father's day is a busy day, so exceptions will be made for slow service, dry ribs and greasy onion rings. When we did get served they were good but not great

Staff and drinks fine, food very much below par, Full rack of ribs was dry like it came from out of the desert, lump of uninspiring "grilled dry" chicken came with it, "Steak Sampler" was just about cooked but cold, salad and veg there seems to be a shortage? To think the place was not even that busy. Bar staff took great care though, even when we changed tables, very organised and on the ball, but I think you really could use some better chefs!

Service was so good served us and then half way came up to ask us if there was anything else we needed and if all was OK then after that left us to eat in peace didn't heffer around it was really nice

Chicken was dry and not a lot of chicken pieces. You get severed chips but also a bake potato. There is too much potato and creates waste.

A.J. has been very kind today to find one of the very last beefeater cards they had in stock for my mother . sadly , we could not get our 50 percent discount as advertised as we did not realise it takes a while for the e mail to arrive but she kindly looked after us never the less. I advise all to register for the discounts well in advance . apparently you need the special code in the email to receive the benefit ! it is good velue with the daytime menue and the offers

There are several gluten-free options. The burgers were very nice and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the fries were a big letdown; they were overcooked, which left them hard and barely containing any potato. How can anyone cook fries incorrectly. On the positive side there is a large car park and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Had a meal here yesterday food was so so nothing special rushed and poorly presented taste was okish I wouldn’t return. There is no excuse for the cleanliness of the place the windows are disgraceful and the whole restaurant was dirty and sticky food is way over priced. If you want to charge this please provide a better service

Popped in for a late breakfast at 10.15 as it said it was servings breakfast until 12 only to be told they could not serve us as they were running out of food. Went to Deepcut cafe plenty of food there. .

First time here. Service was very slow despite not being very busy considering it was Saturday lunchtime. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Food could of been served alot hotter some of it was lukewarm but was tasty. Probably won't return anytime soon unless improvements are made.

Had lunch with friends yesterday, presentation of food and drinks, including service was very good, so was the food. However, I was really dismayed by the general lack of cleanliness of the premises. It was noticed that the carpets hadn't been cleaned esp in the toilets, nor had they been vacuumed in the restaurant area. We noted large chunks of food under our table on leaving and also in the service area floor. May I also add that it would be more conducive to clients returnin if entrance to the site was cared for and looked after. I sincerely hope that these areas can be remedied, as it is in the area I live in and I would like to return to lunch there again.
