Raceview Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Visited for a meal on East Anglian Derby Final night. We were put in a hospitality box downstairs but had the same service/menu as we would have had in the restaurant upstairs. The food quality was absolutely superb and the portion sizes were generous (I had previously felt they were a little sparce) Waitress service was good and the fact that we got our own drinks and had to go to the bar to place our bets was a plus rather than a negative particlarly as previous experiences were that the tote operator didn't always make it round everyone upstairs. Only negative is that starters/dessserts are not included in the price when you book. I appreciate it kept the price down to £25.99 but would rather have paid £35.99 and had a 3 course meal. Surely it would be more profitable for the stadium as well? After all, it was sold out.

Visited here for a second time , booked with friends and had a meal , enjoyable time .Could not fault the meal , served well , service good , polite helpful staff .

…..in the country! Great manageress in Tara who I believe came through the ranks as a young waitress? Waiting and tote staff very quick and efficient. Admission and 2 course excellent meal for around 20 quid, prime view table for the night it really is unbeatable value for money. Fast action betting and watching the dogs loving there racing and you might win a few quid as well? We go to the horse track down the road but the highlight is always the well run dog track in the evening. Can’t wait to go again in September, see you there👍🍷

Myself and 2 friends attended the greyhounds at Yarmouth this evening and paid £20 each for the raceview restaurant. I can tell you without any question, it was worth it. We went up 2 flights of stairs (lift access is available) and were greeted by a member of staff who sat us to our table overlooking the track. Shortly after this our tote operator introduced herself and after that, our waitress asked if we wanted any drinks (Not included within the £20) and took our food order. We all ordered the lamb shank and it was probably the best lamb dish I’ve ever had. The lamb fell off the bone it was that tender. Between each race our betting host asked what we wanted to bet on, however you can also use the bookmakers down the stairs. We then were asked if we wanted desserts (also not included within the £20) and we all chose the caramel crunch cheesecake which was lovely. It was a great evening except me not having a single winner! Better luck next time.

Took a couple of friends that haven't been before, very fussy friends that had to make a couple of amendments to the menu such as swapping for chips. The waiter Elliot was very accommodating with the fussy two. Great service very friendly and attentive. Will definitely go again. Might win more next time.

Food average staff average tote guy very pleasant wished I took a scarf as air conditioning was right near us and my neck n back was freezing couple on table in front of us left early because of draft. We have been several times when we have visited yarmouth and such a shame would not rush back to restaurant very poor.

Have been a few times now and the food is always on point and served well round the races. Booking early is essential and I would say window or first tier essential if you want to watch the racing if you are happy with the ambiance then 3rd or 4th tier seating is fine.

Start with the restaurant it’s self, good COVID system in place ,waiting staff very polite and the meal was very good Unfortunately as not been to the stadium before ,at time of booking was lead to believe there was a table in front of us but viewing of the track would be fine, not the case we were on the top level in the middle so could only see the far side of the track, and watching on the Screens Just isn’t the same,

As a family we holiday in Norfolk every spring. We love visiting the Yarmouth Stadium for greyhound racing, and last year had a delicious dinner in the main restaurant watching the dogs. We were booked in for dinner and racing again this year, and had paid a deposit. Sadly due to the coronavirus outbreak the evening had to be cancelled. I wanted to write a review to say how impressed we were that the Raceview Restaurant called us to explain the situation and refund us our money without any prompting. Emma was polite, courteous and very efficient on the phone. We look forward to visiting again next year.

It’s the second time that we have been to the Raceview Restaurant. Value is fantastic when you consider that the £25 includes your race card and a 2 course meal it’s actually fantastic. Start at the entrance very inviting and warm the staff are attentive and getting to meet one of the retired dogs is amazing they are so happy and loving. In the restaurant its self the view is brilliant and the service is next level. They are attentive and quick and the food is top quality and cooked well. The table service is great and the staff are happy to spend time explaining things for new people like us. All in all was a lovely night and the tombola for the retired dogs is an excellent touch. If your looking for a good night out peppered with lots of awwwws at the dogs as the parade around this is the night out for you! A special mention for Katie our table side betting lady thank you for being so patient with us.

We went on a Thursday evening and the racing was of a low grade , however the restaurant was a delight . The young staff were so friendly and helpful , the food was outstanding . The menu was fairly limited but imaginative and superbly cooked . It was a bright modern facility but spacing of tables was tight

We visited Yarmouth Stadium on a Monday night and had the two course dinner for £17.99. There were 5 of us and a couple of fussy eaters, but all were catered for. The waiter changed mash potatoes to chips for one of us. The food was good. I think the portion sizes are smaller than when we came last year, but this is a good thing as before we were uncomfortably full. Staff were very attentive, drinks served at table, bets taken at the table each race, so no need to move at all !! Highly recommend for a good night out !!

Visited Monday evening and really impressed.The service and food was excellent and the whole experience was great from start to finish!

My partner booked us an evening at the Dogs to celebrate my birthday and a fantastic night was had by the both of us. We were seated in a restricted view section but still had a blast. The service, food and atmosphere was impeccable. We had 3 courses and every course was as tasty as the next. Goats Cheese Tart (me) Ham Hock Terrine (him) Chicken Supreme (me) Minted Lamb Shank (him) Toffee Apple Crumble and Ice Cream (both) I can’t stop telling people about what a fabulous time I had. I can’t wait to come back.

We had night at dogs.had a meal bet on dogs and very good night out.staff very polite. Seating comfortable food tasty.made a bit of cash haha.

We visited as a group of 18, whilst the service was good, the food was awful - absolutely bland, with no flavour at all. I understand that they are catering for a large amount of people but at £26 a head I would have expected something a lot better. Don’t waste your money, go for the cheap seats instead!

My husband and I have been loads and we decided to bring 6 of our friends as we have enjoyed it so much. It was so disappointing , our friends had to go to bar everytime thay wanted a drink, our table visited the bar some of the time and when we did have drinks at the table we had to track our waiter down, the food was just ok , it could of done with being a bit hotter, no rolls on table like there used to be, not even offered any. I have never left a negative reviews so i am sorry but felt this time we had to.

The service from start to finish was faultless. Opted for a few bottles of wine at nearly £20 each from wine menu. Shame no drinks menu available so no idea of prices causing us not to venture beyond the wine into spirits. Group had various starters, mains, desserts, hot drinks.Garlic king prawns portion size was small with only 4 prawns served on top of a flat bread with salad leaves and a few chunks of cucumber and tomato. All agreed very edible but all left wanting more and we're not big eaters.Cordon bleu was a bit of an 80s retro eat that seemed to be battered and anticipated breadcrumbs so a little odd but so not an option we would have had if known beforehand. The vegetables were nice though. Snapper main course with potatoes and vine tomatoes with chorizo were enjoyed but were confused by extra tomatoes on the plate which most of us left. Some green beans would have been a perfect addition though.Vegetarian options of broccoli & stilton pasta bake could have been more generous in size and included more broccoli. Cous-cous stuffed peppers were the only option without cheese. Chocolate brownies were a big hit and everybody wished they'd opted for them. Strawberry was a nice touch with them too. The apple crumble tasted very nice but felt the portion was too small and the custard wasn't very nice so felt disappointed paying £4.95 for this dessert.Hot drinks were all fine and reasonably priced.It does work out to be a pretty pricey eat but it's the price you pay to watch greyhound racing in the dry, warm environment with a precooked table.

Another great nite at the dog races we booked again to eat in the restaurant and it did not disappoint. We were shown to our table by our Waitress and we ordered our food. The starters of prawn crayfish cocktail and pea and ham soup came very quickly then a short wait for the lamb shank with mash and veg and the chicken special. Desserts were extra and my husband had the lemon meringue knickbocker glory which he said was delicious and I had the cheese and biscuits which I was disappointed with as it was 4 tiny bits if cheese. We had a lovely young man who came to the table to take our bets. All in all a great nite and we look forward to come back again soon.

Whilst staying for the week at the Haven Caister I decided to take the family (2 adults 3 children 14,11,8) for their first taste of dog racing! The stadium is lovely and modern where we entered and it was nice to meet some retired greyhounds on arrival. Our table could not have been in a better spot, right by the window and all the action! The staff were all very friendly and interactive and it was a well-oiled machine when it came to ordering and serving the food. It was all timely, hot and of good quality (even with fussy kids!). The kids loved the grown up feel of the restaurant and the environment with lots of different groups there - a very memorable night, thank you for looking after us... Highly recommended.

Had a great night here with work colleagues.. food was good considering it was a big table.. I had steak and it was cooked more well done then medium but nothing to complain about.. food all nice and hot just the way I like it.. nice to go somewhere with entertainment and food for good prices

Went to charity function.had food in raceview restaurant food good and very hot.service Very good staff very unobtrusive just got on with there work.thank you to all involved that night.

We hadn't been to a Greyhound race night since Walthamstow closed, so were glad to be in Yarmouth on a race night.

Was very dubious about this especially as we were taking two australians with us. Need not have worried although we couldn't get a table that overlooked the track there were plenty of screens and people to take your bets. Food really very good. Would book earlier next time in the hope to get window seat.

The raceview restaurant is up 2 flights of stairs, but a lift is available for those who can't walk. We were greeted by a hostess who took our names and then passed as over to a waitress who seated us and explained hows everything worked for the evening and pointed out bathrooms etc. All drinks orders were taken at the table, although you can visit the bar and order yourself if you didn't want to wait, all our drinks were delivered very promptly and prices were on par with any other bar in the Great Yarmouth area.

I have to admit I was a little uninspired with the menu after we had booked but was really pleased with the quality.

Good food and good value, service was lacking as knew there would b wait between course and was ok with that but wasn't asked it wanted more drinks or condiments ect... children really enjoyed watching the dog racing! Would go again!

For the price we paid, we really weren't expecting very much.....how wrong we were! We had a front row table overlooking the finish line. Our waitress was a delight; friendly and attentive. The food was of excellent quality; well cooked, hot and delicious. We will definitely be revisiting!

Hemos estado aquí dos veces para las comidas en el restaurante. La comida ha sido muy buena en ambas ocasiones, recomiendo la pierna de cordero. La primera vez tuvimos una mesa muy buena, pero la segunda vez tuvimos un 'dancefloor' mesa que no tiene una vista de la pista. Aunque hay pantallas de televisión por todos lados, no es tan bueno como ver las carreras en vivo, así que no recomendaría estos. Además, la segunda operadora tenia muchos tote mesas, así que terminamos teniendo que ir a la ventana de nosotros lleva un par de veces ya que no hacen a nuestra mesa antes del comienzo de la carrera. Organización mejor las necesidades cuando hay grandes grupos presentes. Buen precio para una noche de diversión.

Pleasantly surprised as must be difficult catering to hundreds of people all at once. Food was reasonable and hot but a bit of a delay between courses but thought reasonable value. Would go again if up that way.

Food was excellent hot and a good selection in the set two course meal and good value. Very enjoy able night out. Staff were friendly and helpful and the person who took our bets was extremely pleasant. Drink prices are the same as any pub.

Fun night watching the dog racing. Starter and main with entry and race card for £25 and you keep your table all night. Really great value, full table service all night. Closets the track. Friendly staff. Sadly didn't win haha but you absolutely come back. Very friendly place.

We went mob handed from work, we had a comfortable seat a really nice meal, even a betting service at the table. A panoramic view of each race great value.

Had to wait around in lobby before being allowed upstairs don't know why but lobby ended up very cramped. Drinks extremely expensive. Meagre Christmas decorations, crackers even worse not making a bang!! Poor service to tables with regards to betting and had to go and collect winnings as they couldn't be bothered to "enter a reference number from ticket". Meal service extremely poor, waiting 1hour between courses finally eating dessert at 9.40pm after starting to eat at 6.50pm!!!! No explanation why or an apology. Would not recommend food as it was over cooked, dry with very little vegetable's (that were under cooked) with very little gravy to make meal edible. Never again what a waste of £30 per head!!!!

For a great evenings racing with good food and friendly staff you cannot beat the Raceview Restaurant at Great Yarmouth.Excellent food, served by friendly staff and at table betting. A brilliant night out at very reasonable cost.

We had a lovely evening at Great Yarmouth Stadium. We usually come on a Saturday but found the Wednesday evening just as enjoyable. The food is always really good and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be coming back again very soon.

We are a family of five, who were on holiday in Suffolk and fancied a night at the dogs with great food, and weren't disappointed. We booked a few days in advance, and had a table right against the trackside window. Food was of a high standard ( the pork was excellent ) and the waiting staff and staff who take your bets at the table are a credit to the restaurant - all very friendly, attentive and helpful. The set price is for admission, starter and main course. Desserts and drinks are extra. .Plenty of screens to watch the races for tables set further back. Highly recommended

Fantasticc food and outstanding service. Worth a visit. I had the lamb shank and to be honest there was too much. The rib starters was tasty. I opted for cheese and biscuits but think the Etan mess would have been better

I booked a table in the restaurant and we had seats near finish line we went on a Wednesday so you pay £13,99 for entry and a main course which is alright value , and on the day you pay£4,50 a starter or dessert and we bought this and the food was really good , the betting is OK aswell they come to your table after every race to take your bets. although they give you tote price which is a lot worse than that you get at normal bookies so if you want better price go to a bookmaker on the track, service was good and first time at the greyhounds will come back again

This is the 2nd time of going to the restaurant at the dog track , I have limited mobility and found the staff very accommodating and helpful ,the meal was just like eating in a fine dining restaurant ,piping hot and very big portions can recommend the ribs to start with and the belly pork or lamb shank for main

The meal was served up hot at the table staff were 1st. rate and very polite. Anyone who likes dog racing will love this.You enjoy yourself at your own pace.Even if you do not have a flutter you will still enjoy the meal.

Booked Halloween night meal and racing for two,upgraded from standard menu at additional cost,restaurant had lots of empty tables so expected good service.staff base made an effort with costumes for Halloween ambience that was the only saving grace.From drinks to starters arriving,40minutes,(remember not busy), we had ordered steak and checked before ordering that we could specify how it was to be cooked,medium rare and we'll done,the medium rare was almost correct,the well done just on first cut oused blood,even in the middle it wasn't cooked.I had to go and find the head waitress who in fairness was apologetic,the restaurant manageress said they would cook me a fresh one(why not cook that one properly?) And that would take 10minutes,22 minutes later it arrived this time properly cooked in the mean time the other party member had finished their meal,how did they resolve the issue ?,knocked £3 off the bill and told me that steak can go pink when you cut into it and its exposed to the air.(Really??)Don't expect these guys to be getting a Michelin star for service or quality any time soon,.won't be going back and will be spreading the word.

Comfortable seating , large panoramic windows , very good food , attentive service.The whole setting here made for a great evening.

Organised a Saturday race night for a group of 12 couples from our local pub The Dock Tavern and have to say from the moment we arrived the service, staff and the food was second to none. Starter and main course plus race card was £24.99. Not one of my party had a single complaint about the food. Staff take your bets at your table before each race. Will be organising another one next year this time in our own box as whilst our 4 tables of 6 were side by side I still felt a little separated from one end of my party to the other. Highly recommended evening.

great night at this restaurant, the starters were great and my grill was one of the best. the four of us really enjoyed that night and to come home with a good win made it more enjoyable, we will be back

Service from the door up was excellent, and food was to a very high standard. I had the stuffed pork tenderloin which was extremely good. Everything could be done from the table, ordering drinks and betting. An ideal night out if you are feeling lazy.My dogs however were very tired on the night and let me down badly. Next time I will look for the ones with all 4 legs in place.

Go to dogs every year especially to the restaurant. Sit in comfort, have a lovely meal,and let them serve your tote tickets. Well worth a night out

Spent an evening there on 1st April celebrating a birthday with 9 friends. A gentleman on the next table soiled himself, which was very off putting when trying to eat! This isn't really my issue as I understand he couldn't help it. My issue is the appalling way the manager, Nikki, dealt with this. Her attitude was extremely unprofessional, on the verge of being rude. I have since contacted the managing director, Justin, and he hasn't even had the decency to acknowledge my complaint. I had hoped not to write a public review, but I feel this whole experience ruined our night out and not to even had an acknowledgment is very bad business practice.

This is a good night out if you into racing even if you don't have the meal deal take plenty of money you can bet as little as you won't

We went here last night for a lovely evening of betting on the dog racing and lovely food.Our waitress was wonderful and had a real sense of humour, and the girl that came to the table to take our bets was lovely too.The food was really well presented, flavoursome and reasonably priced I think. It was extremely filling, we did not have desserts but did have a superb cup of coffee later in the evening. Book early, and ask for a window seat to get the best view, but the window seats are only for up to 4 people, if there is more of you you will be sat on the next tier up, still brilliant..I actually had a win, unusual for me, a winning night all round.

Another great night out at Yarmouth dogs! Good choice on the menu for adults and children. Food/drinks and betting service were all spot on.

Spent a very enjoyable evening at yarmouth greyhound stadium and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal in the race view restaurant.Once at our table we were very quickly attended to by a very polite waitress who told us there may be a wait of an hour between courses however we recieved our food alot quicker than that. The food was of very good quality and generous in portion served nice and hot, drinks weren't too pricey.The beauty of greyhound racing is the races happen every 15 mins which keeps the night flowing and 13 races were soon run unfortunately we didn't find many winners but this didn't stop us having a great night which I would recommend to anyone to try.Well done yarmouth stadium keep it up.

All six of our party had been previously and the fact that we were all prepared to return for a complete evenings entertainment says much in itself. We were not disappointed on this occasion either. Table service was first class and very friendly and the food up to the standard that had enticed us to return. Our starters, the Goats Cheese and Tomato Bruschetta, BBQ ribs and Fish Goujons all met with approval and each of the main courses chosen, Braised Lamb Shank and Stuffed & Wrapped Pork were a meal in themselves. If there was a cloud over any of the dishes it was considered that there was a little too much parsnip puree accompanying the pork. On the whole though this was a great night out and an experience we will remember. For as unpredictable as it is selecting winners at greyhound racing, we all came away well in pocket. There is no doubt that we will return ... and in the not too distant future.

Food was absolutely lovely, i had ribs for starters which just fell off the bone then the steak with peppercorn sauce. The peppercorn sauce was so nice.Bets were taken at the table which was great, will defo be back. A good night out! Very impressed! All the staff were very helpful and nice too.

Great restaurant - lamb shank was lovely! Kids meals were good value. Only bad thing was that it doesn't feel like you are near the race track - felt more like watching the racing on screens in a nice restaurant. Saying that you could bet from the table and go down to the track if you wanted.
