Quo Vadis is a gem in Soho—combining charm, history, and exceptional food. The atmosphere feels warm and intimate, with a touch of understated elegance that makes it as comfortable for a casual meal as it is for a special occasion. There’s a timeless quality about the place, a sense that it belongs to both Soho’s vibrant past and its present. A restaurant that feels personal, welcoming, and consistently excellent—a rare find.

My daughter's birthday dinner was an absolute delight. It was as if we had passed into a more gracious and time honored way of dining. Everything, from the moment that we checked our coats to the classic elegance of the dining room to our exceptional (and sharply attired) host and server Tommy, made for a lovely ambiance. The food and wine were superb - and the men's bathroom was an unexpected gem from a bygone era. We look forward to our next visit to Quo Vadis!

Went there as two couples on a Saturday night. The place is very pretty but the service was not fantastic. They also did not have 2 of the mains which one of them was a pasta so I don't how can you run out of pasta. The food was alright, not great. I find the whole experience on par with general Soho House vibes, overrated, overpriced and underwhelming. Also because the restaurant is under their bar, there's constant vibrations and sounds coming from over your head. It was a let down unfortunately.

Interesting restaurant with some nice dishes but left feeling it was missing the X factor. Perhaps i don’t appreciate fine British cuisine as much. I had the smoked eel sandwich which they are seemingly well known for. It was very tasty and quite unique. For main I had the hake which was very good too. Perhaps the service impacted our experience as we waited a long time to order and to receive food. We also felt the service was quite basic and not worth the 13% service charge they add. We paid 152£ for two courses each and a cheap bottle of wine which felt quite expensive. As much as we enjoyed the food, we would probably not come back as it lacked a wow factor. PS: restaurant feels pretty anti-vegan, not much plant based dishes.

We had a tremendous lunch at Quo Vadis. Everything was excellent from the welcome at the front desk, to the table, food and service. Delicious starters of chicken, cep, carnage and bacon terrine and chicken livers with bitter leaves sage and walnuts. The chicken veloute pie was one of the best pies we’ve ever eaten and the whole partridge with braised cabbage, onion and mustard jam was also delicious. The short crust pastry on the pie was delicious and inside it was filled with chicken. The pomme frites were also top notch. We could only share a pudding as we were very full, but the brown bread ice cream with chocolate sauce was both unusual and tasty. The service from Fabian was excellent. He was knowledgeable about all the dishes on the menu and ensured lunch was served at a lovely leisurely pace despite the restaurant being fairly quiet.

We went for a pre-theatre meal and everything served to us was just delicious- from the bread to the starters through to mains, wine and dessert. The eel sandwich is a must-try of course (it was much better than I was expecting- probably one of the best starters I've had in the capital). The pie was packed full of deliciousness and was quite hearty. The other mains and sides were all expertly handled and thoroughly enjoyable. Service was friendly, unpretentious and relaxed and the general atmosphere was altogether comfortable and charming, reflecting the character and history of the place rather nicely. We left the restaurant feeling very satisfied, well looked-after and wanting to come back for more. What more could one ask for in a restaurant?

As with many, Quo Vadis was on the list for a long time and we eventually booked for a special occasion. Unfortunately we were incredibly disappointed and it did not live up to the hype. We got the pork terrine which was more like parsley terrine with some pork. There was far too much parsley. The pie was nice but the sauce was incredibly watery and would have preferred a thicker sauce. The sides were also disappointing with the potato and pea salad having far too much mustard. Also to note our waitress was really brusk, she rolled her eyes when we said we had a voucher and got annoyed that we had spilled some food on the table. It was incredibly awkward. All in all I have to say it was quite a disappointing experience and unfortunately won't be recommending to friends and family.

We arrived at this longstanding institution after a some fantastic jazz nearby. The restaurant decor seemed welcoming with its bright colours and the staff were very friendly in showing us to our table for 6. The place felt relaxed but with a pleasant hubbub of conversation as a background. The menu had an odd mix of things on it but I chose the much recommended smoked eel sandwich starter and pie of the day (chicken), both were really excellent. Some of others were cheekily served vegetable soup instead of the fish soup ordered (as they had run out). The head waiter smoothed this over by apologising graciously (as he should have done!) and refusing to charge for starters. None of this mattered we all had a great time and left feeling happy.

There are a lot of stories and history to this place and there is also a members only section of the club. With such an interesting profile, a visit seemed worthwhile. I feel this place has a Moulin Rouge feel (maybe due to the colour tone). Table arrangement is a bit intimate but comfortable. I started off with the whole artichoke vinaigrette (which I kind of regretted a bit) but with hindsight, probably the famous smoked eel sandwich should have been a better choice (I thought the eel sandwich was a full main course, that's why I didn't order it). I was looking forward to have the pie but was told it was a beef pie that evening. As I do not take beef, I opted for the lamb rump. The lamb rump was in fact very tender (surprisingly) and that brought my mood back. It also went well with the red wine I ordered. The meal was finished off with a creme brulee, which was a bit different from the usual version (it didn't have that burnt crunchy top. Strange but maybe that's their interpretation of the dessert, I didn't bother to find out. Why I said "brought my mood back" was because, during the meal, I saw the guest (also a solo diner) next to me having the exact courses I was planning to order, the smoked eel sandwich and the pie. To my surprise, the pie didn't looked like a beef pie as it had a white meat filling. So, I had a casual chat with him and found out the menu had changed half way through. At that moment, I thought the waiter could have been more informed and suggested that I could have the chicken pie as an option. Will I return for the eel sandwich and the chicken pie? Maybe, if I do not have other priorities.

I paid for an Uber to be driven to the restaurant, only to find it closed upon arrival. When making the reservation, it was stated that there may be a fee for no-shows or late cancellations. Given this policy, I believe I should be compensated for my time and the Uber expenses incurred due to the restaurant's closure. It is unfortunate for such an establishment to act so irresponsibly. I’d been looking forward to a meal here for many years and after our experience I had to wonder why. The food was mediocre and that’s being kind. We thought we were off to a good start, as the mackerel beetroot rhubarb and fresh horseradish hit all the right notes. The fish was lightly pickled, as were the other elements, each done in a slightly different brine, and it was fun, playful and tasty. The rest of the meal was a mess. A boiled artichoke was simply plunked on a plate and served with a thick vinaigrette. This is something we do at home all the time, but getting the inedible choke out was a real chore with a fork and dull knife- who wants to fight with their food at these prices? Mains were both hugely disappointing. A tough bit of sliced lamb rump was served with an oily mint sauce which didn’t do a thing for the dish. My pie of rabbit and Guinea fowl was full of bone. The sauce inside the pie was not creamy and rich but rather a very thin broth. While the flavour of the broth was good, it just didn’t belong underneath a crust. When I questioned the server he said that if a pie contains either rabbit or Guinea fowl, traditionally it’s served this way. I have to wonder why. We had some just okay drinks to start, and a glass of very ordinary Champagne with the mains. Though we were really looking forward to desserts which sounded delicious, we knew at this point they probably wouldn’t be so asked for the cheque. The room is nice and service was okay, but the food was inexcusable at this price. Sadly it seems like a tourist trap- the best thing about it? The cute menus.

The stand out about today’s experience I have to say was the service! Previously it’s always been very efficient but I’m afraid a little clinical (the quality of the food always made up for the lack of true connection and warmth). Today there was a difference, great warmth, connection and efficiency by Lydia who served me. Sadly I must recommend to skip Quo Vadis. The service was friendly but disastrous. They were out of many things and kept realising it progressively as the evening went along. Drinks took 45 minutes to arrive from when we first sat down, and didn't even arrive together. Then they couldn't manage to course out our food so we ended up with too many dishes all served together that went cold before we could manage to eat them. Had to beg for the bill 3 times. For a dinner with very light drinking (1 drink per person), bill was £280. Which is a lot to spend to be badly served. The smoked eel sandwich was amazing. Get one to go and eat it on the street? Then go elsewhere.

The new refurb seems to have done away with the stained glass windows which is a shame. There is much more space though and it’s very comfortable, just lacks some of the old character. Serving staff were uniformly excellent and pleasant. Chef even shook hands! The main problem is that the two hour turnaround for tables is too short to enjoy a relaxed meal. We arrived 20 mins early but were reminded several times that the table was needed back. No time for coffees and liquors! Food was tasty and most enjoyable without any fiddly fine dining pretensions. I have been twice now and been disappointed on both occasions by various elements of the food. The eel sandwich is great but be warned, it’s extremely peppery. I also really love the pistachio cake with rhubarb, this is the best dessert they do. However, it goes downhill from here… The first time I visited I ordered the cured cod, courgette and salmoriglio. It was extremely bland. This week I went with a friend to order all of the puddings and try the legendary sticky toffee pudding. As someone who lives and dream by sticky toffee, I was expecting great things from Quo Vadis, especially considering I have heard it’s one of the best in London but I left truly heartbroken. I judge a sticky toffee pudding as it is, and therefore asked for the cream and custard on the side but when it arrived there was NO toffee sauce?! It was so dry. Yes, I am sure people will say but that’s what the custard is for but custard is not sticky toffee pudding. They are too separate things and I didn’t have the heart to tell our sweet waitress how upset I was. I will admit that the custard is good though, so that’s something at least. Also, the sorbet was absolutely fantastic and is definitely the superior dessert on the menu. Lastly, I have to share my disappointment in the trifle which had a very strange flavour that neither my friend nor I could place. An odd bitter after taste and excessive amount of custard and cream. I love Jeremy Lee and will continue to admire him from afar on instagram but I do not think I’ll return to Quo Vadis. It’s expensive and has let me down on both occasions. The staff are very sweet and it’s not their fault at all, the food just hasn’t met my expectations.

A group of us went in November and all ended up ill. The common denominator was the oysters, though Quo Vadis denied any responsibility. Fair enough and they were good enough to offer a complimentary meal up to £150 (original cost was in excess of £500). I went with my husband for said complimentary meal and we were rushed from the very beginning. We’d not even been there an hour and a half and were told they’d need our table back before the stipulated two hours. What a weird experience when they were supposedly trying to make us feel welcome. Sorry, I just don’t get this place. I was a returning customer after numerous visits following a bout of food poisoning - though they accepted no responsibility - and made to feel like a bloody nuisance. The lack of customer care/service is an absolute joke. Owner Jeremy Lee may be a celebrity chef but these places seem to rely on their reputation when maybe they need to take care of the people coming through the doors. I won’t be back.

Guys, try the Eel sandwich, it will blow your mind! Extremely delicious!!! For the other dishes, they are excellent too. I recommend the main haddock dish, dessert with pistachios, and the sirloin starter too!! (forgot the names sorry)

This gem in Soho was perfect for me as I wanted a calm place with some fine food. Well, the atmosphere was Indeed calm, and the food was fine. I especially would like to highlight the amazing smoked eel sandwich as a great starter. However, what could have been a nice 5/5 rating was unfortunately dragged down by the underwhelming service. Not outright bad per se, but I didn't feel welcome.

Visited for dinner a week ago. Not the best table in the house, but had a great experience. Lily, our waitress was engaging & professional. I had the smoked eel sandwich to start with; & it certainly deserves all the praise & accolades it has received. Smoked eel in Britain usually only appears in Tasting menus as a small component. At QV it is a substantial portion, served warm on sourdough toast, with lightly pickled red onions & horseradish cream. My main was hake with parsley mash - another winner! My wife had the chicken pie which was superb & plentiful, with a crispy short crust pastry topping & lots of chicken in a delightful light creamy sauce. Sorry, with such superb & tasty savoury courses, no room for pudding. But, who knows - next time.... Barrie & Julie

We had a fabulous dinner for 3. I’ve seen a couple of recent negative comments about the service but our welcome and table service couldn’t have been friendlier or more professional and knowledgeable. We liked the decor and had a great table by the window. All the food we had was excellent. I enjoyed the eel sandwich. Having previously only eaten smoked eel cold, having it served warm was a revelation in terms of taste. My two companions raved about the pepper and fennel sirloin beef salad with tomato, fennel and celery, and a lot of freshly grated horseradish. The chicken veloute pie was fantastic and great value at £22.50. Definitely one of the best pies we had ever tasted. The crust was crisp and crunchy and the pie was packed with chicken pieces. For desserts we had a delicious sticky toffee pudding and two lovely ile flottante. All portions were generous other than a small side of greens. There is an extensive wine list with similar prices to most London restaurants of this quality. We would definitely return and have recommended it to others.

Food was good. Service was good. Servers were very friendly. However after confirming my reservation, I was immediately told that my meal would be restricted to two hours. I believe this is their policy, but it was off-putting to me (lack of tact). Especially since I was dining solo. Not for this they would’ve received 4 stars. Doubtful I will return. But I do recommend. Maybe someone else will be greeted by someone with better customer service skills.

I'm sad to write this but we didn't have a great lunch and had been so looking forward to it. My husband took me for my birthday. First off, the restaurant was freezing cold so not a nice environment. It was a cold day so we kinda forgave it. Ordered Oysters then each a starter and a main. My starter arrived along with the oysters so we thought that was odd but when my husbands starter didn't arrive it was clear they thought the oysters were his starter and had forgotten his actual one so a quick apology and he got it. Artichoke and anchovy salad, good god it was disgusting - swimming in olive oil. I told him to return it but he was too polite and hungry by this point. The mains were just okay, I had pheasant which I understand is small but I did eat more plums and prunes than anything else. My husband had the pork which he said was, again, okay. Dessert was delicious - shared a sticky toffee pudding. Our wine was also very good and the sommelier was excellent, shame the waiter didn't know about wine and tipped the rest of the bottle into my glass along with all the sediment. The bill was eye watering. Not a great experience, sadly won't be back and have already told people to save their money. Sorry!

Very quaint and pleasant room , tables a touch too close together but bearable. The welcome was a little too pointed when confirming the table time limitations. In truth it led us to order two courses rather than the intended three because we didn’t want feel rushed. The food was good no issues at all but service was average in every respect. Not terribly attentive , and in general a bit hap hazard. No real reason not to visit again but will not choose for a special occasion more a last minute dot com type of thing.

We were delighted with our visit to Quo Vadis. We were a party of 6 and our table was perfect. The team were wonderfully attentive in just the right way, knowledgeable and added to the whole experience. As for the food, it was utterly delicious, it's hard to mention standouts but the soup of the day, goose rillettes, hake and seafood vol-au-vent were standouts. The desserts are delicious too but we were glad to share them having indulged so happily over the starters and mains! The white wine we had to accompany the meal was delicious also. Overall, a fantastic experience and a wonderful Birthday celebration for one of our party.

Very disappointing dining experience. Service and atmosphere fine but the food was huge let down . Having read reviews my friend and I ordered the Pie- chicken in sauce. The crust was very overcooked, the sauce tasteless and the chicken bit stringy. Final point was irritation at being reminded no less than 4 times that the table had to be vacated promptly. I dine at various restaurants in SoHo for business and pleasure and have to say this has been one of the least enjoyable. Won’t be returning. PS would add that both my friend and I realised we had slightly gippy stomachs the next day …..

Food in London was great, but it seemed everything was similar to offerings in the U.S. so I searched for 'must eat in London' and was directed to Quo Vadis. Charming little spot, excellent (professional) service. Food was very British, but very modern and upscale. Loved this spot in Soho.

This little gem in the heart of SoHo never fails to disappoint every time we drop in be that weekday or weekend. The staff are truly wonderful and take time to get to know their guests and deliver great service even during the busy periods, when the place is heaving. In the members club Saskia and Zander were fantastic, very welcoming and attentive and make the best cocktails in Soho! In the events floor Ziem and Hollie were brilliant and nothing is ever too much trouble. Some members clubs you get very little by way of personalised interaction (looking at you Soho House!) but this is a very special place with an incredible team so we can’t wait to return.

I chose this because of the reviews in xx which couldn’t be further from reality. Nice but amateurish and inexperienced service with no sign of any manager lets it down. The food lacks any depth or refinement and is just average at best. There are many better restaurants so don’t waste your time here

Excellent Soho restaurant run by the brilliant chef Jeremy Lee who was previously at the Blueprint Cafe in the Design Museum when it was on the Southbank. We had two starters - peppered venison with pickled prunes and puntarelle with anchovies - which were both great. We followed these with two main courses - fegato alla Veneziana (calves liver with onions!) and a cannelloni dish with cheese, pumpkin and chard - which were also terrific. We accompanied the food with four glasses of very good wine. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Style and Character: Quo Vadis recently underwent refurbishment, and the updated aesthetic is pleasing. The red sofas in the dining area provide a structural elegance, although there is a slight issue with draftiness at the table next to the stairs. Food and Drinks: The food and drinks are a delightful blend of seasonal and British offerings. I had the pleasure of trying their December pie with turkey, and it was excellent. Service: The service was noteworthy, with our waiter displaying a high level of professionalism. Despite opting for a three-course meal, we found ourselves in a bit of a rush after dinner due to the need to vacate the table for the second seating. In summary, the overall experience at Quo Vadis was good, and I would recommend it. While the drafty table and the slight rush were minor inconveniences, they do not detract from the positive aspects of the visit. Given the commendable service, I see no reason to deduct a star for these issues.

Overall a bust. The smoked eel sandwich was spot on. Very nice dish. The chicken pies were uninspiring. Flavorless. Leeks would have been a nice addition for flavor. One of the pies was very dark and somewhat over cooked. Fegato... Forget it! Salsify was unimaginative. The server forgot to bring another requested martini, and neglected to ask if we wanted another bottle of wine. The wait between starters and the entrees was FAR too long. My first and final visit.

I hadn’t been to Quo Vadis for years but will definitely not leave it v long before going again. All the food we had was spot on but the smoked eel sandwich was a highlight. My husband had the chicken veloute pie, which was rather large but he managed to eat it all! In fact th3 turbot, terrine and ille flotant. The vibe in the very pleasant dining room was relaxed and the staff, particularly Ivy and the receptionist were particularly lovely (and professional). Good value too. The only small criticism that, when the air con kicked in intermittently, it got quite cold. Highly recommend!

A clean sweep of 5 stars across the board. If I could give more I would. Quo Vadis is one of the finest examples of how hospitality should be. Here’s what I liked: • EXCEPTIONALLY good service. I mean really good from the moment of arrival at reception to that of the knowledgable and delightful Lily who made sure my table was so well looked after.. • The food. I mean it’s hard to fault anything from Jeremy Lee’s kitchen. • The decor and ambience. The balance of music and volume is spot on, the room warm and inviting. • The price point is not outrageous and you feel the experience is worth every penny. What I didn’t like: • N/A Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? YES Price point: $$$ Overall a fantastic, faultless dining experience. Well done Jeremy and your team at QV. Can’t wait to return.

Last week, we had an amazing dinner at Quo Vadis in Soho. The service was outstanding – the staff was really nice and took great care of us. The food was delicious too! I tried the eel sandwich, which was really good. But the standout dish was the rabbit with girolles (which I did not order, so tried to steal some from my partner's plate - so so good). It was fantastic! The rabbit was tender, and the girolles added a great earthy flavor. Every bite was a delight! The atmosphere at Quo Vadis was cozy, and the whole experience made our evening special.

Went with a partner for a celebratory Lunch, upon arrival, we were told after being seated and given menus that the restaurant was not going to open due to an electrical fault, we were very disappointed but understood, the after care and attitude was terrible, they made it quite impossible to rebook, and were extremely unhelpful refusing to refund the money, the place also looked grubby and tired to be honest, avoid as lots of better options I'm sure

Stayed on our wedding night a month ago and I'd made the mistake of not actually booking the hotel (despite being quite sure I had). I tried to check in and when it transpired that I hadn't in actual fact booked a room, the manager (a French man) was exceptionally rude and unnecessarily aggressive towards me inferring I was lying when it was a simple mistake. There were spare rooms and I booked one, which I would not have done if it weren't for the circumstances. After I said "well we don't have to stay here if you have a problem" he backtracked on his rudeness slightly. It was a really uncomfortable way to end our day, made slightly better by a colleague of his meeting us on the stairs and apologising on his behalf. Would never stay here again and very much regret having to part with our money on the night.

This pub is perfect if you are visit the British museum. It is right opposite the museum and you can eat here after visiting the museum. The food is like in all pubs, I decided to eat Fish and Chips, the traditional meal English and were just as I remembered, bland (yet when I return to London again ask sure).
