Quills Restaurant in Stratford-on-Avon

We randomly wandered in for a drink with my friends, feeling a bit apprehensive since it’s part of a hotel. But as soon as we got to the bar, the young guy completely put us at ease and wiped away any bad feelings. He was very kind and served us with great professionalism. Next time, we’ll definitely stay here!

The title says it all. Seriously, this restaurant has gone badly downhill in terms of service and the menu has deteriorated.

First night in the hotel hadn’t booked but restaurant was quiet and menu sounded good so thought we’d give it a try , seated at a table given menus however after 25 minutes and another 3 tables seated we hadn’t so much as had our drinks order taken, bear in mind there were only 3 other tables there before us and at least 3 staff ! Then after trying to get someone’s attention we were blanked and tables that came in 15 minutes after us were being served first at this point we left

I'm a single person but I don't see why that means I should not be served. I had to wait 42 minutes to place my order, and that was only because I RANG THE FRONT DESK to ask them to get their colleagues to serve me. People who had come in half an hour after I did were served before me. I am seriously disappointed.

I drove through to have dinner with a friend who was staying in Stratford. It was a cold night, and he'd had a long drive, so we decided to eat at Quills restaurant, within the hotel. The food looked slightly more interesting than might be expected in a hotel of this category, I ordered the corn-fed chicken, with celeriac, mushrooms, shallots and mash, my companion the baked cod with pistachio crust, and we ordered a glass of wine each - and waited, and waited. We began to think we had been forgotten about as the wait for the food was unacceptably long, and the wine appeared only when the food did. Our meals were decently-cooked but thoroughly unremarkable. We indicated as plates cleared that we would look at the dessert menu. These arrived after something of a delay. We both ordered the rhubarb creme brulee, and my companion quipped that he expected rhubarb to be in season by the time they arrived. These delays occurred in a restaurant that was less than half full on a Friday night - so I hate to think what it's like when they're busy.

Fine dining it ain't! I had the smoked pressed chicken and ham hock which was pretty tasteless, served with some salad and two pieces of white bread - I thought it strange there was no butter just dry bread but we found out at breakfast the next morning they had run out of butter! I followed this with a chicken burger - plain piece of chicken with some cheese melted on it in a bun with some salad. Glad we ate as part of the two night stay deal - would have been really upset if I had paid £28 for that.

you get breakfast inclusive with stay which is very helpful. very wide choice from full english to just toast.tea coffee juices.

Quills Restaurant , in the Stratford Hotel, offers a menu with a good choice for each course. The food is always is made from good quality ingredients and is well cooked and presented.

Situation is perfect for visitors to Stratford but hotel is not cheap and meal was average. Came here with a group and the meal was not hot. Could have been special - but it was not. Changing venue next year.

As with the rest of this hotel, the restaurant is comfortable and bright and service is friendly and attentive. The food we had was tasty, well prepared and presented.

we stayed here last weekend, the accomodation was first class and we were so pleased that we took our mobile phones with us, it was the only way we could communicate as the bed was so big !!!! I ordered an accessibility friendly room, it was to a degree--only one grab bar in the shower and I had to request a shower stool later. The staff were friendly and appeared very efficient and helpful. We booked a bed and breakfast only weekend and we were glad we did because the evening menus were not very appealing, but saying that the breakfast was satisfactory. The bar prices were up £10.00 for a large scotch, but that appears to be the norm for hotels these days.
