Despite using their own email contact form to book I had no reply. On checking the actual premises it would appear this establishment is closed despite their web site saying the opposite. There is a 'lease for sale' notice in the window . Sadly the demise of a good Newquay restaurant

Restaurant was almost empty but went to look at menu. Family who were leaving were local and couldn't rate it high enough, so decided to say. Very friendly Portuguese lady served us. Partner and I ordered 'chicken grill bras', wasn't anything like we were expecting but really tasty. We both have healthy appetites and just about finished the dish! One friend order Portuguese pork fibs, rather than bbq version, and found them a little bland. Last order was half chicken and chips with butter sauce. Obviously plenty of chicken and wonderful chips. Before leaving, we were offered small shot of either local cherry liquor or homemade whiskey based liquor. Would recommend asking about a dish if not sure what it is.

I was disappointed with the lamb chops I was served. As soon as the waiter put it on the table smelled gone off. Rotten smell. Can you imagine eaten that. No not me. I love my food when it is fresh. I didn't make a big deal of it but I informed the waiter and the owner she did apologise and said I won't be charged for the food but when I see my bill it was charged. Not a good experience. I wont be going back again.

Tried to make a booking for Friday 22 September. Website said fully booked so tried Saturday 23 (bookings only accepted 24 hours before date). Had email confirmation. Made arrangements to get there and cancelled proposed dinner elsewhere with friends. Went to restaurant and found it completely closed (@8pm). They couldn’t even be bothered to let me know. No notice on door or anything. Will never go again. Waste of my time and effort.

This was an amazing food experience. We were a group of 7 adult females. We all ordered something different. All of our dishes tasted wonderful. I had seafood rice which was gorgeous. The owner tried to get us a taxi (Saturday night) to no avail. She drove us back to our accommodation. Wonderful food, and people. Bernadette, Ireland.

To anyone who likes seafood or steak this is the perfect restaurant. The food was beautifully done and the octopus was spectacular. Everyone on the table finished their food and was more than stuffed. We were also given complimentary custard tarts which were too good to refuse. Overall lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Worth a visit.

We live in Newquay, and we have frequented this restaurant on a number of occasions, and we have always found the staff and owners attentive and helpful. The Portuguese steak last night was probably the best steak I have ever been served, and of course, the selection of wines only helped. Can't wait to go back.

Seafood rise taste like tomatto with some seafood on top...disgusting...octopus burnt..price too hight for nothing ..no taste.. . Never again

Poor Service and Poor Food. Ordered mushrooms as starter and mixed grill. Initially they only gave us 1 mushroom so we had to wait even longer for the second to come after struggling to get service in the first place. Rice was extremely oily, to the point to you could see it running across the plate. The only edible thing was the pork steak and spicy sausage, which in all fairness were nice - everything else was extremely over cooked and difficult to cut, let alone eat; including the chicken which was extremely dry, and the pineapple which was more than burnt. No fault on the drinks though. Overall very disappointed as was thoroughly looking forward to the sound of the food. We did also see the people next to us leave after barely touching their food too. Ps. Owner is highly aggressive and staff speak poor English.

Seated next to a table of 16 drunken foul mouthed lads trying to out shout each other! Had no choice but to pay and leave during our main course. No offers to be moved or assisted in any way. The owner just shrugged her shoulders in a very sympathetic way as she completely understood what happened but offered absolutely nothing. 16 drunken louts are obviously more important to them than a lowly table of 2! Unacceptable

Food was great as always, the service was actually very fast for fresh food. Nice atmosphere, on a very grey day in Newquay you feel like your in the med, very nice and warm staff… thanks for a lovely meal

I have always read reviews however we decided to take a chance after reading the menu. We were seated and asked for our order in a timely manner. Good start however things went very quickly downhill. My starter arrived after half an hour , 20 minutes later the starter my wife ordered had not arrived so I went to the front desk to enquire obviously the chefs had not read the order correctly and was told the second starter would be cooked. After another hour still hadn't received the main courses . Had it not been 930pm by now I would have walked out but the chance had gone to visit another restaurant.

Although we didn’t need to reserve a table and the food is very good, the service is very slow and it took approximately an hour to serve the food.

Both starter and main dishes were cold, starter also served with stale soft crackers, seabass, veg and potatoes not even warm but came on a dinner plate size of black something that turned out to be mash with squid ink mixed through. Something I’d have ignored if on the menu. Everything sent back to heat, starter feedback given when plates cleared. Even saying at the till that everything was very poor and experience disappointing, waitress ignored me, charged full amount and wished me a good evening

Just had a lovely meal at this restaurant the staff were brilliant and helpful with my husbands mobility scooter. The food was really good. Everything cooked to order so very hot and fresh.

We had an excellent meal, but it was not cheap, and lots of things were not available, however as they were about to close for annual holiday, that could have been the reason. Service was good, staff great, and overall we enjoyed a good evening.
