Queensgate Fisheries in East Riding of Yorkshire

A real traditional fish 'n chip shop. Freshly cooked to order, huge portions and the same price as the smaller portions sold on the sea front. Mushy peas were slightly watery, due to being warmed in a microwave. Friendly service from two gentlemen in their 60s. Real chips and huge tasty haddock. Slight grease issue with fish being placed on top of the chips. We ordered medium haddock and chips twice, large chips and small mushy peas. Total £25.50 Same order at North Beach fisheries (our preferred location but sadly closed due to the inclement weather) would have been the same price but with much smaller fish and more expensive peas.

Superb fish and chips. We visited on a motorbike trip to the sea side and were not disappointed with the Queensgate Fish and Chip shop. A massive filet that was cooked fresh. Lovely chips as well. As good as it gets...

Even though i asked for crispy batter, it was raw under the surface, needless to say it all went in the bin & the chips were obviously warmed up from lunchtime. A complete waste of money. I work hard for my money & don't like throwing it down the drain. We won't be returning.

Incredibly disappointed with this takeaway. Fish cakes were basically rocks, would have been more useful as a paperweight than food. Sausages were overdone (but at least not as overdone as the fishcakes). Curry sauce was 10 parts water, one part smart price curry powder. Chips not too bad, but nothing to redeem the abysmal quality of the rest of the food. Avoid like the plague, there are dozens of other options, it is after all the coast!

Usually call in here when visiting Bridlington and usually good quality. We ordered three portions of fish and chips, we all agreed that on this occasion the fish and chips were too greasy, a shame but we will revisit.

wouldn't call them chips more like scappy chips and hard, hardly any potato will not be going again,

We had this fish shop recommended by a friend who lives in the area. We're on holiday for a week. The fish and chips were outstanding! Just like I remember them from years ago. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Five stars all round.

I was in Bridlington seeing my mum before Xmas so we decided food before setting off back home so mum said “order the food it’s best way” so I ordered food walked in to collect the man behind the counter asked me “to put my mask on” I explained I was exempt showing my lanyard for him to ask me to wait outside for my food non of them behind the counter had a mask on or displaying a lanyard and I am exempt yet he told me to leave his shop I’ll never be visiting them again

Unfortunately after the review previously we have to report that our last two visits were very disappointing. Fish batter soggy, chips too greasy and the lease were watery. Will give it a miss for a while.

Congratulations to Queensgate Fish & Chip shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our fish & chips tonight. The service was good i phoned our order in, gave them a time when i wanted to collect them & they were ready for me. They also do delivery but not on fridays or saturdays. I will certainly be recommending them to family, friends & neighbours.Thank you to all at Queensgate fisheries. Stay safe & take care.

We have had many fish n chips from here always freshly cooked and the fish is drained before its wrapped up in good old paper. The staff are pleasant and the portion size, even on a small one, is plenty for us. The have offers on on different days and weekends kids specials too. Its worth a try

Used to frequent years ago when we lived in the area, paid the place a return visit and the meal was excellent, we ordered haddock and chips twice, the fish was cooked to order and the chips were cooked to perfection and not greasy at all. We are looking forward to a return visit in the very near future.

I've been munching on Fish dinners since I 'were nowt but a tiddler' (strange way to talk since I'm from Worcestershire) and like all food (some off you take note) if it was all the same what a boring world it would be. I personally like this grub because 1. It's fish fried fresh to order (soggy batter means you kept it wrapped too long) 2. The portions are to taste (too small means YOU ordered wrong - try asking re: sizes) 3. The chips are lovely, if they are fluffy inside that's OK its when they're hard that means the oil/fat has been overused like a certain 'award winning' venue I won't mention), Life and chip shops should always be different and a personal experience, keep this in mind and perhaps like this 'chippie', you'll enjoy it more.

Called tonight for fish and chips for myself and daughter and was disappointed.The chips looked anaemic and were dry and shrivelled up, the fish was just ok but not much flavour unlike when ive been before.Blonde lady who served me didnt seem overly friendly.Will give it a miss next time and try elsewere.Thanks but no thanks.

Great food, lovely staff, great prices. Will go again. Lots of choice and very clean and bright shop. Tasty go try it

The fish was so thin it was nearly transparent, it was also tiny the batter was soggy, the chips were shriveled up. I would never recommend. Really disappointed.

Decidimos que nos apetecía pescado y patatas fritas como regalo a la hora del almuerzo y en la pesca. QueensgateNos dieron una cálida bienvenida y pedimos 2 peces pequeños y patatas fritas con salsa de curry.Se ofrecieron dos tipos de salsa de curry, Irlandeses o Chinos y habiendo pasado ya por el irlandés, puedo decir que es la mejor salsa curry chips que he tenido! Encantador!Un pequeño pescado y patatas fritas era pequeña en el precio pero no de pequeño tamaño de la porción, así bien de precio!Muy recomendable y gracias por el gran servicio!
