I didn't expect much from the restaurant and went more out of convenience as a guest in the hotel. I initially went to the bar and was invited through to the restaurant by the barman. The restaurant had a nice ambience with chatty large tables on one side and solo diners on the other. I ordered the fish and chips and was pleased with my meal. The fish, once I'd let it cool, was outstanding. Crunchy salty batter, moist chunky fish, and it was huge! The chips were so so, as was the mushy peas. The tartare sauce had a nice zing to it that complimented the fish wonderfully. Pints of Neck Oil were very welcome, and the service was superb. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and would definitely come again. Try the fish.

Don't be fooled by the online menu they don't serve any of it!!! Pathetic food

Misleading name/ menu is different to what is shown online. Very poor food (worst i have had for a long time) The only positive was good service by Basanti.

Service was good but we were the only people in the restaurant, which is why it has no atmosphere. Food was nice but the menu didn't refect the website menu. Not cheap but acceptable.

The food was excellent. I had the 8oz burger. Succulent and so much flavour! Friendly, attentive service with a smile. Just what I needed.

The food is exquisite and served in a really lovely setting. Don’t let the fact that it is a ‘hotel restaurant” put you off. Fine dining at good value. A family of 6 we chose across the menu and everything was delicious. Delicate flavours and food cooked to perfection. The Pork Belly bites were a particular favourite! So nice to be dining out again.

Good food, good service. For a place that doesn't seem to be very well known of the food was tasty seasoned well and good value for money the waiter was attentive without being overbearing. Great experience

We went here for afternoon tea and I have to say it was very nice. Not a crumb was left on our plates and the atmosphere was very pleasant to.

Had a meal here yesterday, after watching the rugby. Just like to say what a great meal we all had, and the service was excellent. Special praise for Ieva Rahulla, who made the evening pass seamlessly and was super attentive. 5***** Shall be returning.

Stayed at the hotel (ramada) the restaurant was closed. We ended up eating in the only area which looked like an eating area, the rest was a nightmare.

I can cook so sadly the type of food that is served here just doesn't meet the grade. It's like a bad airport restaurant - undressed limp salad leaves, frozen chips, overdone meat, mezze platters that are mostly stale bread, tasteless fruit. Catering by numbers and poor even by Coventry standards, which is saying something. I have eaten here three times over three years, as part of a company group that chooses the restaurant based on convenience. Not next year.

We enjoyed a delicious meal for 4 including starters main and desert. There was a wide variety of starters, all were tasty from the crab linguine to the tender, spicy chicken thighs (boneless). I would recommend the lamb grill for main, it was perfectly seasoned and so tender with the most delicious dauphinois potatoes and lamb cooked in so many ways, plus a beautiful sauce. My daughter is vegetarian and had plenty of choice. We were actually full but had to make room for a lovely desert, in fact we have never had a bad meal here. There is a lovely ambience with candles adding a nice touch and I love the decor which is quite quirky. The young man, who I think is the restaurant manager, is very welcoming, professional and helpful, so pleasant which makes all the difference. It has never been too busy for us so a nice relaxing evening and you don't feel "squashed in". We will be back.

Friday night deal is not to be missed. One bottle of wine gets you a free gourmet artisan pizza, with wonderful service - thank you Conor and Ieva!

The food is excellent and the staff is usually kind. However, the breakfast time is annoying. The breakfast is excellent, but the waiters are not available or if you see them, they are annoyed. I had to wait for my coffee around 15 minutes, and when I asked for my second coffee, they told me to come back later. All in all, for lunch and dinner this place is excellent, but it you want to have a coffee in the morning...it can be annoying.

£12 for a plain pizza that was thinner than a cracker. Sent it back stating there is no way I'd pay £12. TBF the bloke agreed.first pic is what's advertised, second what turned up. Went over the road to the takeaway with 5 star hygiene and good reviews and got a plain one for £3.99

Having looked locally and out of our window and just seeing grim looking takeaways we decided to try this restaurant located in our hotel. Having eyed up the menu in our room we knew a mix of 3 tasting dishes and a pizza would suit us just fine. The food arrived and looked great and tasted just as good, the 3 dishes (Halloumi, chicken liver parfait and chilli nachos) went well with the tasty pulled pork pizza. The restaurant is open to non residents and while nothing original the food was good and along with 2 alcoholic drinks came to just over £30.00. A pleasant surprise.

Amazing food and service. Can’t understand why this restaurant is quiet, best I have been to in Coventry for years. Tapas is good quality and reasonsbly priced, pizzas fresh and steaks top quality. Service relaxed and professional. Can’t wait to go again

Had a lovely family meal for mother's day, 2 adults & 3 young children. Service was excellent; warm, friendly and attentive, and thoughtful with their timing of food to keep the children going. Great value with under 5's eating free, plus an added bonus of a magician doing table tricks! The menu was a Sunday roast rather than the normal mediterranean options, so can't comment on the standard menu, but the roast was delicious with very generous portions, so I'd assume the rest of their options are just as good.

I came for Sunday lunch. The place was well furnished and very quiet, and the staff polite. Everything was pretty clean. The porchetta and the gravy elements of the Sunday lunch were truly excellent, and the roast potatoes were ok, but the beef was fairly tough, the yorkshires also, and the veg was rather overcooked. At £15 per person, I would have expected the veg to be more carefully cooked. There is an interesting wine menu, if you are into that sort of thing, as well as a range of desserts.

Such a welcoming and warm place, I did booked a last minute wedding lunch for 20 people and the staff was lovely trying to offer us the best experience possible. Shout out to Sophia and Malwina for being so nice, accommodating all our needs for the event.

Pre-panto visit with two lively children. The decor and surroundings are modern and spacious. Plenty of room between the tables, allowing an intimate feel. The staff were pleasant and attentive. The kids were well catered for and the staff took time to make them feel welcome. The food arrived in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. I opted for a classic burger and fries. The food was very tasty and the portions huge. For dessert - ginger and blood orange creme brûlée. This tasted fantastic, though it was hard to choose just one dessert. I will definitely be taking the other half for a cosy evening meal and making my way through the dessert menu. Overall a lovely restaurant, great menu, great tasting food, a hidden gem in Coventry.

Pizzas here are very good and fresh. It is perfect for couples or families as the environment is relaxed yet it feels special.

Ok problems which are two in number are price is a bit hi and not-much food to eat so they need to bring down cost or give more food. Good staff Manager GREAT, everything is good but I still come back to cost and amount of food

In the past I've made the mistake of writing a glowing review of some restaurants based on one visit. Then, on the second visit it's not been so good. However, my friends and I have now eaten at Queens Road at least a dozen times and we have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the staff are friendly and attentive, and if you have a Gourmet Society card it's also great value for money. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Check it out!

Probably the best quality food you can get at anywhere near this price in coventry. We eat here maybe 7 or more times a year and it always outstanding quality food. Anyone saying its to expensive should really just go back to taybarns you always get what you pay for and this is by no means an expensive restaraunt.

Food good bit slow but nothing much to do except relax with a nice cold Ale or Wine what ever your poison, food was really good service was great ate twice in the restaurant, Pizza deal on Fridays good value.

I stayed in the hotel Ramada on the 16th April and whilst I’ve eaten in the Queens restaurant before it has been a while and as I was on my own I thought I’d give it another try.Definitely glad that I did! I had the Monday night Tuna special at £14.95 and it was absolutely amazing. The presentation of the meal was excellent, the quality and taste was equally excellent. Very good value for money too with it being on the special offer.I should add that the service was very good too, friendly, attentive and professional.Based on this meal I’d definitely recommend guest staying at the Ramada to try the Queens restaurant.If you dry frequently you can also have a card stamped which gets you a free meal after 5 stamps. Great for those on repeat business trips.

The food was fantastic: tasty, hot and fresh. There was plenty of choice and it was reasonably priced. The service was second to none from the moment we walked in. The decor was fresh and the whole atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Beautiful mothers day lunch at this lovely friendly Bar and Grill,. Hubby and l have been here quite a few times over the years and we've never had an iffy meal yet.. Today l had roast beef with all the trimmings yum yum it was gorgeous, hubby had roast pork which would suffice the biggest appetite. We didn't have a starter because we wouldn't have had room for the delicious sweets after,. I had a fantastic chocolate cake which was so yummy Mmmm can taste it now beautiful. Its not just the food that makes this place so nice its the lovely staff who work there, nothing is too much trouble and they are so lovely and friendly, its a pleasure to go there. Can't wait until next time. Oh and thankyou for the daffodils for mothers day, a lovely touch.

The Hotel restaurant was quiet cold. The staff had put little heaters out but it was still chilly. We both had steak meals which were of a good size and tasted superb. We both had two glasses of wine, again very good. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Will definitely go again. Would have had 5 stars if not for the cold.

Ate here with friends on a Friday night and we were one of only three tables in! The food was good although there were a few mini or issues; I had calamari to start and the portion was very mean only five rings of squid, the crayfish cocktail didn’t look much better but the soups were good and plenty of it. If you’re hungry choose something that’s cheap to make as most hotel restaurants have to make a higher GP on their food. The main courses were all good, most of us had rump cap which came with salad and a side & sauce of your choice. Mine was slightly over cooked but not enough to complain, a member of our party did and theirs was replaced without fuss but did take a while to come back out of the kitchen considering how quiet it was. The burger looked great as did the sausage & mash. We shared the cookie dessert which was more than sufficient for two people! The drinks selection was pretty good although they had several draught beer products off including their hand pull ale.Overall it was a good meal despite a couple of issues, the staff were all good and as we all had taste cards we got a discount off the food. Had we paid full price I would probably only rate them average as it’s quite expensive for what you actually get. I’ve no idea why it was so quiet either as Coventry isn’t exactly overrun with smart places to eat!

An excellent meal at a reasonable price at the restaurant based in the Ramada Hotel, worth noting that access is off The Butts not the Ring Road as it might appear to on maps. Service was prompt b ut not rushed and there was a varied menu to meet most tastes. We chose this particular place to eat it is very close to The Butts Park Arena (5 mins walk).

We had an excellent experience at the QR Restaurant. Our waitress was so attentive, and provided outstanding service to my wife and I. The food was superb (we both had a steak), and got extra value by using our Gourmet Card to get 2 for 1.The only downside, was that, on a bitterly cold evening outside, the restaurant was a little cool, but everything else was great. Thanks for a lovely time!

I took my girlfriend here a few nights ago to celebrate a birthday and overall we had a great experience. We thought it would be awkward given that we were one of only two couples dining that particular evening, but it wasn't at all- the staff were attentive but not overbearing and very friendly. I notified them that it was an occasion, and they put a candle and 'happy birthday' on my girlfriend's dessert and even sang a very awkward but sweet Happy Birthday. The food was nice, if a little pricey but not off-puttingly so. We sat and had a few drinks in the nice atmosphere after.

Me and my partner came to the restaurant for steak night before heading out into town. Melwina and Simona looked after our table and service was on point from the moment we walked in the door. Friendly committed staff and food was cooked perfectly! Very impressive would recommend to anyone!Will definitely be returning in the future!

Staying at the Ramada the QRB&G was an obvious choice given I didn't really want to be trudging around a wet Coventry on a rainy Thursday evening. Having read the reviews on here I decided to give it a try.. The fact it's a bar and grill tells you that the menu is going to be steaks, burgers and grills - nothing wrong with that. I was impressed that the menu gave a nod to the provenance of it's meat suppliers - not all of it - but it's not all hotels that make that effort. Anyway after a couple of beers - the Purity ale clearly doesn't travel well to Coventry, given the unappealing after-taste you don't get at Pure Bar in Birmingham - I decided to grab some food and went for the chicken Caesar salad and a side of onion rings. There's not much to say really. Neither the onion rings (greasy and not crisp) nor the Caesar salad (dressing - too much and too strong) hit the spot as both were quite poor but there you go, you eat in a mid-range hotel restaurant and you get mid-range hotel food!So I've no idea why people are giving this place excellent scores if the food I had was anything to go by. It wasn't bad but then it certainly wasn't good either.

The staff make this place. Friendly, attentive and 'on the ball'! Nice surroundings. The food was ok. Mixed grill a little tough and the burger we ordered was good. Puddings, too big and too sweet 😁

Visited here with family as a party of 6 , 4 adults 2 children, it wasn’t busy at all so no worries getting seated.The staff were very attentive and we were asked if we wanted drinks pretty much straight away. We ordered the food and the chef send out complimentary potato wedges which was a nice touch, under 5’s eat free which is also good.The food came out in a decent time and it was all really tasty, no one complained about anything!!Only thing I didn’t like was the journey up to the 1st floor for the toilet but that’s it!They accept taste card also so makes it a bit cheaper.Will be going again and I recommend you go try it.

The food here is always of high quality and very tasty. There's also a good range of wines to pair with anything on the menu which make things even better. The daily specials are also a good way to try something new if you're already used to the actual menu.

We have waited for 40 minutes and have to go in 15 minutes to catch the flight... We are the only customers in the restaurant so that we are really confused why it is so slow. Also, there is no waiter in the restaurant for a long time

I found myself alone there on a Sunday Afternoon. Had a few beers and a burger. I did not ask for a red or rare burger and it was pretty cooked to death. Overall it's a nice setting and the waiter was very attentive.

We went there on a busy friday night and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Drinks were spotless and our starters arrived on time and looked spectacular. My wife got medallions which were succulant and tender and Ive got orchards pork which was tender and cooked to perfection. Presentation was outstanding. Will visit again (10 out of 10)

Another outstanding and awesome dinner at this underrated restaurant in central Coventry.Started with a selection of English cuts of meat, with pickles chutney bread and a delightful butter. Yum yumThen main course was a goats cheese, pea and asparagus risotto. Absolutely fabulous and a great portion sizeI am looking forward to the steak night here tomorrow evening when I am sure they will produce another stunner.

Our scenario 2 cars 9 people needing meal before watching show at the Albany Had been turned away from nearby hotel. Thinking it was going to be a takeaway pizza we tried the Ramada thinking we would have no chance. Couldn't be more wrong. Staff were excellent and moved tables so we could all sit together. Explained we were short of time and would only need main meal. Our order was taken. Meals arrived quickly and couldn't be faulted. We had a special dietary requirement as well which was catered for. Can't thank you enough for the excellent service you gave us and would certainly use you again and recommend you.

This restaurant is situated in the Ramada Hotel.I had a meal and drink with a colleague there on a Thursday evening. We both had 8 hour slow Braised beef blade with sauté green vegetables, mushrooms, fondant potato & Madeira jus. It was fantastic I have to say and it fell apart due to it being so tender.We had some desserts, cheesecake and chocolate and raspberry mousse, again fantastic.The service was quick and the staff very polite and friendly.Would certainly recommend eating there.Location is 5 minutes from the city centre and the railway station, IKEA is also a 5 minute walk across the road as is the Skydome complex.

Excellent food and service. Request for a gluten free meal was met with the response that "as we make most things from scratch, the isn't usually a problem." We both ordered the Slow Cooked beef blade and it was tender, well presented and a joy to eat. The gluten-free cheese-cake (a rarity) followed and was extremely light and the biscuit underneath not at all stodgy. Wine by the glass is expensive, but the wine is good. A place to to return to.

We had drinks and a meal before going to a show at the Albany Theatre. There is a pre-theatre menu, 2 courses for £15.The food was lovely and good size portions. We were also offered the dessert menu and coffee.The service was very good. Staff were very friendly.Highly recommend

I visited the restaurant before Christmas as myself and a friend were taking the children to see Sing a long Frozen at the nearby Albany Theatre.We had a lovely 2 course meal which was cooked beautifully. They were very friendly to the children and made them very welcome. There was a large choice with the childrens menu and it was nice to see that they didn't serve chips with every meal.I would recommend this and look forward to returning. My friend had not visited before and was very impressed. The children commented when we left "that was cool" praise indeed !

Thank you to all of the staff who helped with our meal on 23rd December! Booking a meal for 70 people can be tough and sometimes difficult to ensure that every one can be catered for and that they are going to be impressed. However, with the help from Laura and Kieran in the events team, we certainly pulled it off. I have received such fantastic comments from everyone who attended. The food was amazing quality for the price we paid, and we also had various dietary requirements which were taken care of by the chef! Not once have i heard that someone had to wait to be served a drink, so thank you to the operations team for being so speedy!! Majority of our group have said that this was one of the best Christmas lunches we have had, some of my colleagues have been here for 30 years!!!!Thanks again Ramada!!!

Having been here twice within 6 weeks I can honestly say the food is delicious and service very good. The prices are quite reasonable too.My second visit was to treat my family to a pre-theatre dinner which entitled us to free use of their car park which in the winter months especially is useful.

Opted for the Christmas Set Menu and at £25 for 3 courses, it was great value for money. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, which were very generous - especially when it came to the salmon gravalax starter. Service was very prompt - it's probably one of the quickest 3 course dinners I've ever had - and the staff were all very friendly. Having had a look over the regular menu - which looks delicious - I will definitely be returning in the New Year. Free car parking is also a bonus! Would definitely recommend.

Used it for breakfast after a one night stay & I was impressed with the range of food available. The staff gave excellent service and nothing was not too much trouble for them. Well worth eating in.

Stayed at the Ramada Hotel for son's graduation and had evening meal in the Queens Road resturant. No avocado in either of the Crayfish cocktail starters ordered, both myself and my son' s girlfriend mainly ordered this because we love avocado so were both disappointaed. The menu needs to be adjusted to reflect this as not as advertised. My partner and myself both ordered the Brixham Mussel Pots for main course. Don't know if a different supplier used on Tuesday for the mussels, They were very poor qualitely and neither of us enjoyed the meal at all which was a shame as had been really looking forward to them, sauce not very good either, very disappointed.. My son had a dish of the dish of the day 'Low Slow' and it looked amazing. He thoroughly enjoyed it and he is passionate about food and cooking. Deserts also very good and enjoyed by all. Would have brought the starters and mussels to the waiters attention, however the evening was more about our son having a great time and he certainly did.

I visited Queen's Road restaurant last week and had a fantastic time! I was really impressed with the choices for those with allergies- the chef and waiter were extremely knowledgeable and explained exactly what I could eat. I opted for squash soup and swordfish with root vegetables- great to see hotel restaurants offering such healthy food. Each Friday is 'fish Friday.The hotel itself is located in Coventry- inside the Ramada Hotel. The area isn't the most glamorous from the inside was so really pleased to see such a beautifully decorated restuarant with such a great atmosphere- everything from the copper lights to quirky photo frames screamed style. A real gem!

My partner and I had a 2 Course early evening meal recently as we were going to The Albany Theatre. We had 2 courses for approx £12 We both had the Pork Schnitzel which was delicious and a generous Chicken Terrine starter which was also lovely. We had a good bottle of white wine served nicely chilled.The restaurant has been decorated to a very high standard.The staff were friendly and efficient and we were served promptly. Car parking was free as well which was handy for the Theatre as we were allowed to leave the car for the evening.I would definitely return for food or a relaxing drink. It was a great start to a lovely evening.

Came here on Saturday night, we got a booth, a waitress came over told us the specials and took our drink orders. We both ordered the steak, with chips and peppercorn sauce. It was one of the best steaks we have both had and the peppercorn sauce was amazing.We then had the chocolate sundae, i didn't want to finish it because it was so nice. Well done to the staff, I can't wait to return.

What to say about the restaurant other than ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOOD! Everything was cooked to perfection, Adie and his colleagues where extremely polite and attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. Great value for money, would most certainly recommend and would most certainly dine here again in the near future.

We visited here on a Friday night as a group of 8. The restuarant was happy for us to sit in the bar first and even order from there and we were then called in to the restaurant when our starters were ready, Between us we had a selection of the starters and everyone was happy. I had the sharing platter and was very impressed of the size and the cost. Again with mains, there was a range and everyone pleased. I did get food envy when the desserts came out as I hadn't ordered the salted caramel sundae and it looked amazing (and apparently tasted amazing) although dessert probably wasn;t needed as portion sizes were big. Staff were very attentive and the place looked nice, the only thing it lacked was an atmosphere, I guess being in a hotel and at the edge of town, it wasn;t overly busy but as a large group, this didn't bother us too much,

I've stayed in the Ritz London and the Savoy and I can quite honestly say this restaurant was superb. Ali was very attentive and knowledgable and his sugestions on what to choose were very welcome

Found this place on trip advisor, I have to say absolutely brilliant experience, fantastic service, even better food, I have been looking for a good English restaurant in this city for a number of years, and haven't found one since the demise of the cocked hat. Now I have , I will definatly be back. Thanks guys for a really pleasant evening.

Being in a hotel I wasn't sure what to expect. However I must say this restaurant blew me away! The quality of the food was of the highest standard and the service was attentive and friendly. They also have a great children's menu. Best for me was the steaks! Flavour, quality and cooked to perfection. My 4year old thinks it's the best Mac n Cheese ever (her words). The salted caramel sundae was amazing and huge! My husband had the cheese board all British and local cheeses. Will definitely eat here again and recommend to anyone who enjoys a good dining experience.

My partner had the steak and I had the duck in black currant jus and both were delicious. A little pricey but well worth it for a treat. I believe the menu has changed since our last visit but hoping to go back on our anniversary and try it out!

Visited on Friday, the restaurant was almost empty, so lacked ambiance. The service was good, and the food generally well presented and cooked. Some of it was a little pricey for what it was, but there is not a lot of choice in this area if you want to avoid spicy food.
