Was told it was a carvery but you had to Order you food on a sheet of paper every carvery I’ve ever been to you walk along and help yourself when it was brought to the table found the meat was all pre sliced and not carved from a joint not very nice at all pub was very busy and incredibly noisy not a pleasant experience I’m afraid

Great time and atmosphere at the Oktoberfest at Queen's head, live music, outdoor games and quiz plus excellent themed menu.Team as always helpful and friendly.Lots of different beers and ales to keep everyone happy, so lucky to have this pub in our area.

Lovely pub , clean and tidy polite staff .Often visit here on holiday like to visit here . Food looks good , but did not eat this time. Always made welcome when we visit .Local for people enjoying the walk around Burgh castle fort .On route of the number 3 bus route . Dog friendly too .

We had the best day / evening here, the food was so good, and very reasonably priced, the girls behind the bar were very friendly. Our dogs were also welcome, they even had a doggie dinner. Great atmosphere all round.

Fresh cooked food, which was good quality and well cooked. We had steaks and they were perfect. I would suggest the sharing board starter, as its great value for money and was more than enough for two hungry adults and a young teenager. The service was good, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we loved the friendly atmosphere, and the fact the prices were reasonable.

Driven past here many times this time decided to stop and eat, best decision i made today. The sharing platter was lovely good quality well presented. The scampi mains were good we swapped scampi for tempura prawns, squid, fire cracker prawns served with lots of chips and minted peas again lovely. Only comment would be use one set of peas up rather adding new making multi coloured peas. Deserts lemon meringue and large choclate button cheesecake again well portion and quality. Waitress was lovely really helpful polite a ray of sunshine. Atmosphere was brilliant nice clean place nice lecel of background music

A random find when staying nearby, and what a gem it is. We are a Family of 4 and the food was beautiful, reasonable priced, cheaper than your standard chain restaurants but several times the quality. Would recommend, and would defiantly return if back in the area.

Ate here with friends during a recent stay in the area on holiday. Were seated promptly. Excellent choice of starters and mains. First course arrived about 15 minutes after ordering, was hot, tasty and plentiful. A little disappointing that the garlic mushrooms did not come with any salad accomplement. Mains arrived shortly afterwards and again were very good, tasty and plentiful. Again, a little disappointing that the mushy peas with the pie dish tasted like they'd come straight out of a can. On the whole, a good dining experience and worth a visit.

Lovely pub, the food is superb and is extremely filling. The staff are welcoming and with outside seating it really is a very nice experience.

Really great food, the steak and ale pie was lovely, the gravy tasty and thick. Dog friendly and happy to supply doggy dinners. Ale was great quality, a really good pint. The staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a great meal.

Went with friends from church for our Epiphany lunch it was a wonderful meal and they let us have the restaurant all to ourselves so we could have private prayers

Just Eaten at Queens Head for Sunday Roast and WOW.... The Best Roast Dinner I've ever had (Sorry Mum) I have an appetite and I failed.... This was Insain.... The meal was Piping Hot, The Meats all tender and beautifully cooked, Home Made Roast Potato's crispy and Fluffy inside, plate presented impeccably. My plate of food dwarfed my Pint Glass. The Extra Gravy was very welcome too...Top Class. 5*****

Very disappointed after hearing how good this place was ,,to be honest the portions offered for the Sunday roast were generous,,the beef was quite tasty,,but who the hell made the gravy,, must of used one Oxo cube in five litres of water,, absolutely no flavour to it what so ever,,, totally ruined what would have been a reasonable plate of food

We had the worst meal ever , was disappointed as was recommended . Can’t even rate it one . Loads of flies near to our table . Service took for ever . I can’t explain how bad the food was .

What an amazing place, it was our 38th Wedding Anniversary and they put on a special seafood meal just for us. The chef was fantastic, the staff attentive and made our anniversary really special for us. Well done all of you would thoroughly recommend this lovely old village pub. Thank you all very much x

What a find, my wife, the pooch and I are staying nearby on a short holiday. We stumbled across the Queens head and this is our second visit in 3 days. The absolute best thing is the ‘doggy lunch’ Lola the cockerpoo loved it and our food was beautiful also. Fresh food, so well Priced, I only wish we lived closer. If you are staying or passing through Burgh Castle this is the best pub by a mile. 👍👍👍

Best homemade pub pie I've ever had. Very generous portion. Good-natured staff. I'm not from the area but wandered in for lunch after visiting the nearby roman fort, so can recommend if doing something similar.

Live locally and haven't been there for years. Had family visitor from Canada so thought we would take him to the local. A Friday evening. The bar was full to overflowing with two TV's running. The restaurant area was connected to the bar by an open door and two rectangular openings. The noise from the bar was unbelievable and we almost walked right out. But we decided to stick it out as Fridays elsewhere tend to be fully booked. The dining room was flat white walls, the floor hard and no soft furnishings etc to help soak up the sound. No particular complaints about the food and the service was attentive, the beer well kept. Great place if you like a noisy and very busy pub.

We arrived just after they’d stopped lunch service, but they fed us anyway 🙂. Lovely fresh fish in a beautifully light and crispy batter, with great chips. The place was clean and welcoming, and we’ll definitely be back.

Unfortunately this was one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. My husband’s meal was served up stone cold and the rest of the meals were lukewarm at best. Some of us has chosen salmon with vegetables- this meant they replaced the turkey with an over cooked, dry salmon fillet and served with pigs in blankets, brussels, stuffing, parsnips, potatoes, carrots and yorkshire puddings. Yes, really. It was disgusting- sorry we would never return.

Our second visit this year, friendly staff, and clientele, delicious pies, altogether a great atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

We had the mixed platter starter followed by homemade steak and onion pie, triple cooked chips and meat feast pizza. All dishes were delicious and good size portions. Highly recommended. Bar area is also dog friendly.

Stopped for dinner after visiting Burgh Castle on a staycation. The food was excellent, the peppercorn sauce especially was top notch. The staff were friendly and attentive. I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again or recommend this place to others.

Visited here in October 2020 , very lovely place so thought I would go back this May , Couple have worked very hard to improve this Pub. But was only opened on A Friday and Saturday. We arrived on Saturday and the weather was so bad only had one drink as had to sit outside due to the restrictions . Marque and heaters available . Will return . Landlady is lovely .

Went for a meal with friends, which wasn't a pleasant one, after waiting ages to have our order taken, the food took ages turn up and when it did turn up it was all just warm at its best. not the best meal after lockdown and the prices well say no more..

Have often passed this little pub in Burgh but never been in there .Visited here after having a meal outside town before going to Cherry tree where we were staying. Very clean place , landlady very polite , we were seated , very nice and warm as it was a day there had been a lot of rain. Table service .New owners who have clearly taken a lot of time and effect to make this an enjoyable place for people. Dogs are allowed too . Social distancing , track and trace etc all available .Very clean . Toilets although very clean very outdated, but i guess as new owners have spent a lot of money elsewhere on the essentials. We visited again before we went home from our holiday . Will be back next year. Really hope the owners make a good living and get the customers they deserve .

The food was not restaurant standard, with soup of day should’ve been rustic bread not supplied, when questioned bread brought out was bread from a supermarket presliced and smothered in margarine and stale, when main course came out it was microwave food supposedly steak and ale suet pudding but was a small pie, creamy mash was frozen mash microwaved peas dry and gravy if you could call it gravy it was horrid powdery and salty, wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, it’s said on menu fresh food cooked to order I don’t think so!!!!

So pleased with our visit & wanted to leave a good review, unfortunately there seems to be two entries on Trip Advisor for The Queen's Head so will leave the same review on this as the other one! We visited The Queen's Head Pub in Burgh Castle whilst on our family holiday, and pleased to say it didn't disappoint! When checking on the government website we were happy to find that the pub was part of the government 'Eat Out' scheme realising they would be ultra busy we made a phone call ahead to book on which the staff were very polite and explained they they didn't have availability for the Monday but had the Tuesday instead, which we decided to book. On arrival the staff were all very smartly dress with logo shirts and welcomed us with big smiles, we were served immediately with drinks then sat down in the restaurant. The pub was immaculate and you could see that it has recently been refurbished with bright inviting colours.The food we ordered was the largest piece of fresh fish you ever saw with tasty chips, a cheese melt and a sirloin steak cooked exactly as ordered. Although busy in the restaurant and bar the staff wore masks at all times, had tables set out to adhere with social distancing rules, and looked to be wiping down tables and chairs after people left their tables.Overall very pleased with our visit and will definitely be returning on our next trip down to Norfolk.Thanks again

We have visited the Queens Head in Burgh Castle on several occasions now since it’s been under new management. Whilst we’re there all staff adhere to extra COVID measures which have been put in place including face masks, social distancing and ensuring the place is kept clean. Every time we have been the service is second to none. A warm welcome greeted us every time. The food is very reasonably priced and great quality, the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. We will be returning and would recommend The Queens Head to everyone. 5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We’ve just got back from an interesting visit at the Queens Head. With the Eat out to Help out offer the pub was OBVIOUSLY super busy with limited table space and there was OBVIOUSLY a long wait time for food... which we were warned about when we called in advance to see if we should go... some customers seemed to forget that we are in the midst of a global pandemic and seemed to think they were the only people in the entire pub tonight. The staff had to deal with disrespectful, rude and selfish customers who felt it was appropriate to complain about things that hadn’t gone exactly as they wanted them to. Given the circumstances I don’t understand why these people were expecting an evening with no teething problems. This government scheme has put enormous pressure on the staff but the waitress’ and bar staff handled these awful customers with patience and respect from start to finish. We will absolutely be coming back... The food was great even if the guests were not! Well done to everybody working tonight, you absolutely smashed it!!

Just happened to come accross this pub and thought we would give the carvery a go. So glad we did. Food was lovely. Meat was all moist, crackling was great and everything was properly cooked, not pre made or packets. Would highly recommend if you are in the area. Desserts looked lovely and a decent size but we had to give them a miss as we had pigged out on the main course!

Went to the queens head on a Thursday evening whilst staying locally. Food was excellent homemade pie's were outstanding with large portions. staff couldn't have been more helpful with the chef even making us mash from scratch (real potato) as we had asked for it. mixture of locals and people staying locally. bar staff very attentive. will definitely return and recommend

My 2 colleagues and I stopped for a lunchtime drink whilst on a long walk from Great Yarmouth to Fritton. Very welcoming lady behind the bar and very pleasant service.

Went here today at lunch time. Lovely lady behind the bar, who also delivered our lunch outside. A good vegetarian selection. There is a snack menu and a restaurant menu. We ate from the restaurant menu. More exciting than a lot of pub vegetarian options. I had a peek and potato pie with a good selection of vegetables, my partner had a burger - she said that her chips were very good, as was her burger.

Dogs welcome and staff friendly. Plenty of outdoor seats but adjacent to the car park. Ideal for a cold drink after walking up to Burgh Castle. Can not comment on the food as we didn’t eat here.

Visited here whilst staying at Breydon Water for a drink and stayed for dinner. Tasty home cooked food and friendly service. If we are in the area again we will return.

We were staying a Breydon Water holiday park and enjoyed a lovely walk down to the Queens Head. Very friendly atmosphere and enjoyed the World Cup match!! Didn't eat but the menu looked fab.

A cosy little pub, but avoid the soft drinks unless you want to pay over £3 for a coke! Extra surprising as the food prices were actually quite reasonable so felt like a real rip off.

Este es un pub decente, y la comida era muy sabrosa y bien de precio. Mucho mejor que el parque de caravanas por la carretera donde nos alojábamos. Niños y perros. Barco fantasma adnams tenían en, que era un handpull agradable pinta. Es una pena que no tienen unos más cervezas para elegir.

No está mal por haber caminado por el ángulo de pueblo de YAR en Yarmouth donde pasamos la tarde, decidimos parar en el Queens Head en Burgh en el camino de vuelta antes Burgh Castle caminando a través de la vuelta.

Hemos estado aquí varias veces y la comida siempre ha sido excelente y claramente tienen un buen chef. Sin embargo, el servicio siempre les permite bajar. no parecen tener una idea (me olvidé silla alta, nunca llegó a preguntar si todo estaba bien para la comida o cómo me gustaría bistec cocinado) teniendo en cuenta que éramos las únicas personas comiendo y sólo había un 6-8 tomando una copa en el bar. La camarera/nanager era siempre educado y amable a formación de necesidad en el servicio, este lugar sería merece 5 estrellas
