First time here and wont be the last. Food excellent and very good service. Reasonably priced.

We love this hidden gem of an old pub We have come here on many occasions for lunch and never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly the food always fresh and very tasty Just a great place for lunch We love coming here and highly recommend it to anyone

Went for a friend's birthday in a group of 9. Food was brilliant, lovely creamy pate to start and beef to follow that melted in my mouth. Deeply flavoured sauce on top of all the veg and meat was excellent. Fantastic choclate tart pud to finish off the meal too. Excellent portions even though some of us couldn't finish it. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff, very cosy atmosphere. Food was incredible, the black pudding scotch egg with Aioli was delicious and the triple cooked chips were perfect.

Stopped off for lunch en-route and so pleased we did. Pretty location just off dual carriageway near Bourne End and Marlow turn off. (Pub has its own car park). Greeted by a warm welcome by landlord and land lady. Opted for the snug over the main dining area with views over a patio. Tried a steak sandwich and french fries. Steak was tender and nicely cooked. Fries hot and crispy. My wife had the beer battered fish and triple cooked chips accompanied by freshly blended mushie peas and tartar sauce. More exotic dishes available but these were perfect for lunch time. Good standard of cookery and nice atmosphere. Recommended.

Such a loverly place to eat was treated for lunch for birthday treat by my elderly mother who hasn't been here for over 5years after my father passed away the food was apsolutly loverly so very tasty and fresh even thr homemade icecream where yummy 😋 will be back again great place and worth every penny 😊

Best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Fresh haddock in crispy batter with delicious mushy peas, tartare sauce and chunky triple fried chips.

A group of us convened here on a weekday lunchtime mainly for the purposes of catching up. As there weren't too many other customers, we were largely left to chat, which was exactly what we wanted; the long-suffering waitress a paragon of patience as she returned half a dozen times to see if we'd actually looked at the menu yet (let alone picked anything!) Having finally got around to seeing what was on offer, I, somewhat unwisely, went (what was for me) off piste and picked the burger (what could possibly go wrong, I wondered). What went wrong was pretty much everything. The chips were ok I suppose but the "seeded brioche" was mass-produced (of the type that never seems to get stale) and flabby, and the burger itself would have been more useful as an ice hockey puck. I was brought up never to leave food on my plate but, sorry Mum, there's a first time for everything and this was that time. I was not the only one amongst us to leave an uncleared plate but at least my partner's steak sandwich was a hit, with its pink-cooked, tender, juicy meat ... I'd pick it myself were I ever to return.

Arrived without a reservation. We were able to obtain a table on a very busy Sunday afternoon without much of a wait. Food and the service were very good.

We have been to this pub a few times and always enjoyed it. This time was very different, the weather was dreadful so obviously there was no chance to eat outside. The restaurant was not busy but we were seated in a dark corner. the table next to us were 3 couples and 3 babies who took it in turn to screech all the way through the meal. then the baby dropped a spoon on the floor and a dog appeared from under the table and started licking the spoon. The worst thing was the carpet was so disgusting it made me feel ill. Honestly it is so bad it would never pass any cleanliness checks. The waitress was helpful and friendly, the food was nice but the cost compared to the ambience was truly not worth it. I am sorry but dogs should not be allowed in a restaurant - a pub maybe but not when you are paying a good price. We both agreed we would not return because of the dirty carpet and ambiance

Sunday lunch - amazing food - very noisy - very disappointed that dogs are in the restaurant- the worst was the carpet was really stained and really put me off . We would come again but only to eat outside! Stained (badly) carpet, dogs, kids grizzling and poor lighting really freaked me

We have been visiting the Queens Head regularly for a number of years for both lunch and dinner and we have never been disappointed. The menu choice and quality of food is excellent for both lunch and dinner options and the outside seating area in the warmer weather is lovely. Inside the snug area with the fireplace is also very cosy in the winter months. The service from all of the staff has always been faultless whether you want a quick lunch or a longer dinner, they are very attentive and friendly. If you haven’t yet visited, give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

We visited twice this week - what a gem of a pub. Friendly welcome, happy staff, small menu choice but WOW, the food was superb. Not all "run of the mill" pub grub, thank goodness. The added bonus for us was that we could chat over the meal without having to compete with ludicrously loud "background music". If only we had more places like this.

Food is fantastic, staff are very attentive and professional, this was out fist visit, it won't be our last.

We had two evening meals here this week and on each visit the welcome and service were excellent and the food was superb. A lovely change from the usual run of the mill pub food and each meal for the four of us cooked to perfection. Wish we lived nearer!

The Queens Head was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. The food was superb. Really good variety on the menu. The four of us had a starter and a main and a couple couldn't resist the dessert menu. The wild mushroom risotto was one of the nicest I have ever tasted. Service was great too, friendly and efficient. The waitress was also very well informed on the menu, as it should be. We often meet in the Marlow area for a meal as it is pretty central for all members of the family. This experience has really stood out. Can't wait to return.

We had lunch at the Queen's Head this week having not been there for a long time (a year or more). Our lunch was really excellent: fresh and tasty and the service very attentive. The sun was also out so an added bonus for sitting outside!

Outstanding each And every time and very much worthy the drive from London. The food is superb. The service is great. Not a fault! They now have a GF menu. The fish and chips was delicious. Thin and crispy batter fried in a clean/fresh oil served with triple fried thick chips, mushy peas and a tartare sauce. The burger is cooked to perfection and comes with french fries and cole slaw. Personally, I don’t think you should charge for extra gravy (and the fact this is a “menu item” means it must often happen) but that is just a small bit of feedback on what was overall an excellent lunch Highly recommend

I'm thrilled to have received a recommendation for this fantastic Pub/Restaurant, which exceeded my expectations. The Sunday lunch was the best I've had in a long time! The place was spotless, the staff were friendly, and the service was outstanding. I look forward to returning to explore the rest of the menu.

We had been to The Queens Head several years ago and had such a lovely experience, so we were excited to return. Let me first say that the food was absolutely amazing and the service was spot on. But, we had to convince ourselves we were in the right pub. All of the atmosphere we had experienced that first time was gone. I understand that pubs sometimes feel the need to modernize or update their décor. But, I don't think it has worked in this case. We felt like we were in a cafeteria. There was no charm, no ambience, no nothing. It felt stark and cold. It's a true shame because the food and service really are fantastic.

No roast on a Sunday!! We booked a table for 3 on Sunday at 3:30 having been recommended as a really great restaurant and when we sat down we were told there were no roast dinners left !! Now I get that restaurants sometimes run out of mains however if we had been asked to order when we booked the table we would have been more than happy to do so !! We then scrambled around trying to find a roast dinner at 4pm on a Sunday. We paid for a taxi to and from this restaurant and felt it could have easily been avoided with a communication when booking. Will not return

What a smashing lunch! The Specials Pork had crackling like candy and a super morish gravy. We added the option Yorkshire pudding, you should definitely do the same. First visit for dinner. Nice menu with specials too, food was really nice... both fish dishes for mains. Portions are generous. Prices for some items a little high but plenty of choice. It's a lovely old village pub on the outside. Inside is quite different, very functional and modern perhaps lacking ambience.

We have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions as usual the staff were very friendly and the food was very good, however the whole experience was ruined (it was our wedding anniversary) because we were chilled to the bone because the doors were all left open on a cold night “because of the virus” I must tell you I don’t feel the cold but even I had to keep my jacket on. We couldn’t eat up quick enough and did not order the usual desert and coffees and had to take our bottle of wine with us! Never heard of. Won’t be going back until next summer

Four of us visited here on a busy Monday lunchtime. We have been here on several occasions and always enjoyed the food and service. Again, we were not disappointed. As locals we love the food at the QH, particularly the famous fish and chips. Which is huge and tasty. What a disappointment last night on a family walk to the pub that the fish had become the size of three fish fingers. So v disappointed, for £15, Captain Birdseye could have done better. Searching for a place to eat in the open air and the sunshine, and to drink good real ale, we found this delightful sixteenth century pub wiuth its excellent local ale and simple but good meals. Afterwards we walked a mile through wooded countryside to the Thames, and then along the rivee bank, as advised by the pub's helpful staff.
