Really decent food and the staff is really friendly

This is absolutely one of the best all around fish and chips shops I had have pleasure of using. Amazing chips fish cooked to perfection. Staff excellent and very helpful. Great place to enjoy a meal 😄

26th October 2024 Went for a kebab at 7.30pm . They ran out of salad only cabbage and onion available..I wasn't told when placing the order and no discount was offered. For shop that sells kebabs to run out of salad on a Saturday evening is a joke.

The fish portions here are massive and the chips too. After an error with my original order Ash the owner couldn’t do enough put it right super fast delivery was nice and hot and fresh. Will order again in the future.

man this place is amazing, great service, great food and a great vibe. whenever the wife says she wants some food I suggest queens because its cheap and really good and its close to where I live its only a hop skip and a jump away. And the location is amazing right next to co op. I could not recommend this place enough. I want to work at queens fish and chips. You have to go here. Ps. My favourite worker has to be fin hes a player he has three girlfriends, awesome dude

What has happened to Queens Fish and Chips in Monmouth? Until six months or so ago this was the best fish and chip shop around, for value and delicious food. The fish portions were generous and the chips were delicious. Now the fish is half the size and some of the chips are inedible.

A very large order was handled really well, with particular care for gluten free items being kept separate. Lovely!

I eat at Queen's Fish & Chip shop every week, sometimes twice a week the food is so good! The experience of every time I go there is amazing and the staff are always very friendly and smiley. The food is very well priced and portion sizes are spot on!

Had 3 cod, mushy peas, chips and chicken doner. Fabulous! Lovely big tender fish. Mushy peas were full of peas not water! Chicken was very tender, chunky and tasty. Great chips. Side salad was freshly cut for us, and packed. This was a delicious, big value meal. So good.

I ordered the fish supper meal. They hid inedible revolting chips underneath the fish. How devious, I payed good money for my meal. Each time that I have eaten here I have been unwell afterwards. Will not be eating here ever again.

Stood outside waiting for the Queens to open with a lady who was in front of me. One of the guys inside flipped the sign from closed to open then opened the door a few inches before slamming it in the face of the lady. Absolutely disgusting and a total lack of respect for the costumer, needless to say she turned around and went elsewhere Chips are adequate

Normally great chips but tonight at 1630 I was expecting freshly cooked chips. They were dry and really bit fresh. My wife and I both said they look and tested like yesterday's chips reheated up. Not up to what they usually do, very disappointing. If I go again I'll leave it for a while until they have freshly cooked chips.

Had a kebab from here last week. Just cold meat taken from the pot. I've been ill with food poisoning since, thanks.

Don’t review very often but had to for this evenings food, I don’t think I will ever eat a Kabab again just warm meat not had the Burner on the meat before it was carved off …. Had to bin it all. I am uncomfortable with “cash” only businesses as if they don’t want to engage with HMRC then maybe cooking and other standards are lacking. I also don’t want to be that guy who slates the business so for balance service is very good even at busy time and I have had mini fish and chips in the past and that was lovely. The Queens have spoilt the guilty pleasure of Kababs for me 🫣

Well--organised, clean, tasty chips and generous portions. The go-to chippy for us.

I don't order there often, but almost every time the service makes a mistake, they have a problem to understand a simple order, for example, I ask for garlic sauce and they give me curry? (or something similar that tastes disgusting) another time I ordered 6 takeaways for my co-workers, good thing I checked the bag because there were only 5, if I hadn't, one person would have been left without food at work.

Onion rings fabulous. Fish batter light & crispy. Chips awful!! Soggy undercooked some still hard & a huge pile of them to boot. Threw them away after eating 4 or 5!

We were staying for 2 nights at the caravan park next to Queens Fish & Chips and decided to have fish and chips for tea on the saturday. I downloaded the App and pre ordered our meal for tea. It was absolutely delicious, a reasonable price and everything was ready when I we collected our meal. Very pleased and would thoroughly recommend.

This was classed as a tray of doner meat but I hardly enough to feed a child, I am used to a much larger portion but this is one of the more disappointing portions I've had they seem to be getting worse lately.. very annoying

Have tried a few chip shops since moving to Monmouth but now only use Queens as it’s consistently great quality, and not overly greasy like some which can leave you feeling heavy and sick afterwards! The ability to order online is very handy and they have some good deals.

I don’t usually write reviews but this is the 4th time it’s happened for ever getting orders wrong sort it out please we explained several times on the phone when ordering food but they seem to get the money right except the food order 101 29/07/2021

Awful, probably the worst kebab I've ever had. No pitta bread, and the mint sauce was the kind out of a jar you'd have on a Sunday roast rather than the yogurt mint dressing you would expect on a kebab. Nasty

the food tasted ok, but after the chicken burger my stomach hurt a lot, the boy was vomiting, we didn't eat anything later so there is no option that something else could harm us

Really good quality fish and chips to takeaway - and very large portions - best in Monmouth. Very clean as well. I don't normally eat kebabs - but they also looked great. Little way out of town - next to Coop -so easy parking.

It was our first night and we had been travelling for about 5 hours. We ordered 2 kebabs and chips, one southern fried chicken and one plaice with chips. The portions were huge and the price was just over £20. Both boys enjoyed the kebab and chips although one boy was too tired to eat. The chicken got eaten by my wife as the small child decided he didn’t want it. My plaice was huge but a bit oily although I ate it all and it was tasty. Weirdly they didn’t have tartar sauce so I had to buy some from the co-op next door which was a bit rank. Probably eat here again during our stay but it really was only average. Also it’s just cash which is annoying and immediately raised suspicions that it’s a Taliban money laundering front. Maybe?

Didn't used to like the food here but it has really improved, the fish and chips are fantastic these days and the portions are simply enormous and it's really cheap too.

Never disappointed by the portion size or quality.

We have tried many chip shops around the area and never found one that was really nice consistently. Until we found this one it was recommended by a friend and we haven’t looked back food is always cooked beautifully and fresh. Car park outside makes it a doddle to collect and you can order in advance and the food is always ready on time so big huge thumbs up thanks

Tuesday 9th April 2019. Dinner take away fish & chips for 2. We don't eat fish and chips that often, but when we do we always come here now. It's been consistently excellent. Good quality fresh cod, and decent chips too. Be aware that portion sizes of both the cod and chips are pretty large....even the "regular" helpings. My wife used to work in a fish and chip shop in Cardiff (before becoming a lawyer!) , so she knows her stuff on this subject and she says this is some of the best fish and chips she has had - high praise indeed. Highly recommended.
