staff efficient, attentive, professional and the food was like your grandma cooked it with love, so flavoursome 10/10 !!!!! And piping hot where a lot of Sunday carvery’s are just lukewarm. We had a table of 10 and everybody felt the same, we shall definitely be going back 👌

We came here as a spontaneous idea, and had rang 10 mins earlier if they could fit 6 of us in they could. We arrived, and the young lady took our drinks order, then instructed us to go to the carvery. As we were waiting to be served I said to my wife that I was starving, and upon being served by the man behind the carvery, said, "Would you like an extra Yorkshire and stuffing sir, I hear someone's hungry". I thought great, then he also gave me an extra slice of meat. Top bloke and to put the cherry on the cake, it was fab. Would definitely visit again soon.

I've visited many times before and my friend had her birthday here in the function room. The staff are a credit. They really do go above and beyond. I'm sorry, I didn't catch the chaps name but my goodness - how much they went above is beyond words. My friend had a wardrobe malfunction and the guy went out to buy safety pins for us. How many places can say they do that for their customers?! It was an incredible night and I always enjoy coming here to the local. Food has always been fantastic and service is top notch. Thank you so much from us all!

Great little pub, been visiting on and off for a while but had not been in for a couple of months. decided to go back and the food was amazing. probably one of, if not the best pub meals I have ever had. Camembert wedges starter was amazing and the stilton steak sauce was very nice, along with everything. Service was very friendly, the guy behind the bar was very welcoming. would defiantly recommend this pub.

Have just visited the Queen Vic for Sunday carvery and it was excellent although as a coeliac I couldn’t eat the Yorkshire puddings and stuffing there was however gluten free gravy available on request. There was even a choice of gluten free puddings, one little niggle however was they put gluten containing wafer rolls on the apple pie which was excellent by the way. But when I pointed this out to them they immediately offered to get me a fresh slice of pie. The staff were very friendly, quick and efficient and would certainly have no problem eating here again.

We went as part of a large family booking and I have to say we were very impressed by the quality of the food and service. Despite being a large party the food was piping hot and the staff called out our names rather than the meal we had ordered which made the service quicker and more effective The food was of excellent quality and good portion size. We will definitely be making a return visit

I couldn’t fault the main course of steak and chips. But despite being told at time of booking that there would be a gluten free pudding option, when it came to it the only option was ice cream. Ice cream should accompany a pudding and is in no way a pudding in its own right so was left very disappointed as pudding is the best part of the meal and if you get that wrong the whole meal is a let down.

This review is for 2 seperate occasions I've visited Queen Vic for evening meals. The first review was for when it is was the Help to Buy time, where me and my partner enjoyed a lovely steak - which was really nice and good pricing. The second review is from the a couple of weeks ago when me and my friends visited for the Italian Friday night, we all had a carbanora - which was also lovely!! Staff are really nice at the Queen Vic and we always enjoy our visit.

We went here for a family members birthday celebration. We ate in the restaurant at the back of the pub and as it was Sunday it was carvery only. There was a selection of meats (pork, beef and turkey) all of which were well cooked. I’m guessing if you like well cooked meat then your good to go. The usual fair of vegetables all well cooked and also a Yorkshire and stuffing, again all well cooked. The gravy was very salty but there was plenty and nice and thick in constancy. The tables were pretty tightly packed but didn’t cause any issues. Staff helpful and courteous. All in a “good” carvary

We have used this restaurant several times whilst visiting family. Whilst the pub is a bit dingy and old fashioned the restaurant at the back is light and airy and separate. The Sunday carvery is great value for money though you must book as they have different sittings. The staff are friendly and efficient and I cannot fault the roast meats and a wide selection of vegetables. Especially liked the stuffing ball sitting in a Yorkshire pudding. Has a playground and sitting area at back which is perfectly adequate if you ignore the less than tasteful views (piles of concrete blocks, commercial buildings etc.). Smallish car park but plenty of on street parking. I would recommend it for the Sunday carvery as I have no knowledge of the pubs other functions though by their advertising they seem to have plenty going on. The owners seem to care about their surroundings with nice flower displays etc.

The restaurant at the Queen Victoria Syston is bright and airy and you can eat inside or out. The restaurant is separate from the pub and has an adjacent car park. We arrived on a Thursday and was offered the lunch menu and the OAP carvery. We chose the small carvery which included 3 roasts, yorkshires and hot vegetables plus sauces and gravy. The meal was hot and delicious and we went back for seconds. The carvery price was great value for money. There was a decent selection of wines by the glass and draught beers. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended for lunch.

Went for a meal on Tuesday evening with friends, unfortunately the person serving in the bar discouraged us from eating there. The food and service in the restaurant was great, unfortunately the restaurant was noisy and the chairs very hard and uncomfortable. Things would probably have been 5* if we had eaten in the bar as it seemed empty. Will definitely be back but probably at lunch ( which we have done recently) when it seems possible to sit in the bar and eat. If we go back in the evening will take a cushion for the chair !!

My father and friends used to eat at the Queen Victoria quite a bit in the past. For various reasons, they have not done so of late. We took my father, his lady friend, and a cousin there a few days ago, and found it pleasant. The dining room for the carvery is light and airy, and quite small, so you could say it was somewhat intimate. We chose to eat from the carvery. I think that may have been the only choice; on our earlier visits, there were other items that could be ordered, and they had a specials menu chalkboard, but on this occasion, none of that was evident. However, since we planned to eat from the carvery, it didn't impact us that much. The carvery is quite small, and rather cramped, but in the space, they do a pretty good job. I have grown accustomed to typical carveries overcooking the beef, but that is because the British seem to like their beef cooked that way. I guess the resulting dryness of the meat is ameliorated by the lashings of gravy they usually add to the plate. This carvery was no exception to that overcooked beef syndrome; it wasn't exactly pink inside. The place wasn't particularly busy, which surprised us. Perhaps it had lost some of its popularity since last we visited.Anyway, the experience was reasonably good. The food (carvery) was good, the service (for the dessert) was quick and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant -- not being crowded has its advantages.

On the whole a disappointing meal. I am never one to complain however I feel that I need to give an honest review. The pub is lovely inside however we unfortunately encountered a very rude member of staff who was working behind the bar and the food was very disappointing. I had a burger and it was very salty and burnt when I asked for it to be be cooked medium. not really sure how difficult it is to mess up a burger? I have been to the pub before for a birthday party and had a great time. Sadly this time we were left feeling disappointed.

Not enough staff, just one poor ''rushed off her feet'' waitress. Not a massive choice on the menu, but adequate.Prawn Cocktail came with a bread roll...FROZEN and inedible. We did NOT complain about this - though many would. My wife had Gammon which was like a badly burnt piece of streaky bacon...which she returned for a replacement...which arrived about 10 minutes later - and no better.Hunter's Chicken topped with bacon & cheese was also badly burnt throughout. All in all, a bad experience. We will not be returning.

This a nice carvery style eating experience for those who like this sort of thing. There was a choice of three meats which could be had once and unlimited vegetables. The food was hot and served quickly and freshly cooked. The staff were friendly and polite and although the venue was quiet when we went in, within the space of half an hour the place was completely packed. The atmosphere was nice and friendly and it felt more like a meal at a friends house rather than a meal out. Drinks were fairly priced and served to the table. There is outdoor area for kids to play in whilst you eat and the choice of deserts is also good. I visited at lunchtime during the week. The main pub isn't open until 4pm. The restaurant is light and airy in a contemporary style. The carvery for 2 at £10 had to be tried. A choice of pork or turkey with 3 veg and 2 potatoes was just right for the small number of diners present. The food had been out for at least an hour and was slightly dry. The only negative was the tea and coffee at £3.50 with the tea bag still in the cup and pots of UHT milk.

This was part of a large group evening out. The menu choice was alright but not very exciting. The carvery was good value for money but the meat was well cooked and looked dry so we both went for sirloin.Service was a bit slow but there were quite a few in, so that was OK. When it arrived, the steak was quite a nice piece of meat and cooked as expected. However, it was served with what seemed to be very elderly tough cabbage which had not been strained well. There was water on the plate making the chips soggy (they were not well cooked either) and these were accompanied by hard bullet peas. Obviously, the onion rings were soggy too. I only ate the steak and mushrooms but left everything else, my wife didn't even eat all of her steak. A very poor experience which won't be repeated but is a shame as the pub itself is quite nice. I am in two minds as to whether an overall rating of 'poor' is a bit generous because the food was so bad.

A group of us booked for lunch and ordered in advance. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , service was good as was the food with a choice of portion size for some dishes. My meal was missing peas but this was quickly rectified. The cakes looked delicate and tyere was one desert and ice-cream om offer yoo. The tea rooms are warm which was good as the weather outside was awful. There is outside seating for good weather days. There are a few charity shops on site and walks in the grounds, weather permitting and a model railway open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Definitely worth a visit.

Possibly the best latte I have had in Leicestershire (up to this date of course), I don't know how they do it...especially as I'm borderline addicted to the things If you get a chance try the vanilla latte and let it cool slightly.
