Stopped for a much needed break & snacky sustenance & was not disappointed!. Had Cream teas for 2 extra large scones with jam & cream which were really tasty, great value for money & a lovely spot, next day stopped for an ice cream which was a really good size for the money, staff are v friendly & professional, will go back there whenever I'm in the area 😋

I presume it was the owner of the shop a very miserable and ignorant man as we left the shop wasn’t very happy that my daughter used the toilet. He purposely stood next to the entrance as we left and basically threatened me in front of my children and said it’s for paying customers only, however a family member did purchase a drink. The food is very overpriced and the lady behind the till thinks she’s better than everyone else! Will not be going here again, avoid they clearly are not family oriented. Also came here the week before with family and spent a fortune the staff were very very slow different staff this time!

Petes pies extremely tasty lovely with mash potatoes and pea great service definitely be back, cake looks amazing reasonable prices great views

Nice joint accompanied by the riverside view, clean and well present, great selection of hot drinks cold drinks and some alcoholic beverages, fairly large menu, with lots of snacks and cakes, good prices & friendly staff 10/10 would recommend. Anyone who’s looking for a proper brekky needs to try the full Monty 😎

Visited for ice-creams before as caters dog ice-cream's too. Went for breakfast today. Great quantity, quality, flavours, price and service. Will be visiting again for sure.

Well...popped in for a breakfast and ofcourse went for the biggest thing on the menu, i can honestly say the chef beat me on this one. Left half my beans and 2 pieces of black pudding, this is my go to cafe on the quay and definately should be your next stop. Friendly staff, clean and great food!

Cooked me fresh scones to take away. Friendly star fan nice atmosphere with good views. Recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Thsi was our first visit to this cafe. We had a latte and a tea, nothing wrong with the drinks but was not very welcoming at all, we tied to make small talk but very little engagement back, we felt like our custom was too much of a inconvenience to the two ladies behind the counter. We will not return, there is plenty of other cafes on the Quay

I've worked in hospitality for 24 years and I've never experienced anything like the reception we received from this place . We visited at 2pm on Sunday afternoon . Their were 6 of us going to have a hot drink and something to eat. As we came in the 3 members of staff stood looked us with hands on hips and sighed 😕 Not even a reply when I said hello you ok . By the time my stepson had chance to get out of his wheelchair we left . In future just be polite and friendly. Wouldn't of even minded if was told sorry we're closing soon and we are running low on a few things. Just rude

Great food and amazing service, me and family had a nice brunch the staff was very friendly and accommodating especially to my brother who is vegan. The home made pie was amazing!

We visited here for a impromptu breakfast. Service was fairly speedy and breakfasts came out in a good time. However, the quality of the breakfast was not great for the price charged. Standard bread, overcooked poached eggs, and cheap condiments. Bar the overcooked eggs, this breakfast would have been satisfactory if not for the price. The atmosphere was not great. I appreciate it was quiet but the owners (I assume they were) were quiet and not overly welcoming. On the plus side, the coffee was great and the baked goods (especially Pete’s pies) looked fantastic.. perhaps we just chose the wrong meal and the wrong day to visit.

Best pie and mash we've had in years Lamb and chorizo and the beef and Guinness pie were amazing meat so tender and proper big chunks Mash was perfect

This was a very disappointing experience. Went here with my wife just to have some coffee. The staff seemed moody and the coffee was not great. What really upset us was there was a little girl that came in who needed the loo desperately and was told this was for paying customers only. Poor thing was really upset, bless.

Grandparents, daughter and her 3 sons under 12 called in after bowling for a light lunch. Food was super and the service excellent. We did have to wait a short while for our food but the waitress was absolutely delightful and could not have been more pleasant and thoughtful. How wonderful it is to see a genuine smiling face. We will certainly go back.

We dropped in for a light bite with the family last Sunday. It was peak time but the service was faultless. Food was excellent all round. We will certainly be visiting again.

Was very disappointed. Wanted to just have a lite bite to eat and some drinks after a long drive from Kent with the kids. Ordered our food and drinks and we was told food would take about 30 mins for hot food which was fine as we was ordering drinks to tide us over. After 20 minutes we chased our drinks which had yet to be made with at least 2 other tables that came in after us were served before us. We asked for them to check if our food had even be started as we didn’t want to wait any longer for the drinks and it hadn’t. We left after half an hour still no drinks and had to find somewhere else. Very unorganised and not great customer service.

Extremely slow service. Went as part of my birthday celebrations. Waited ages to be seated, order taken and served. Customer's served in an illogical order. Our food did not come out together so we were not able to enjoy our food together. Difficult to find someone to pay our bill. Put a downer on birthday celebrations. Will not be returning.

Lovely family run cafe with great coffee and food 😊 I ate the best scone I have ever tasted in my entire life and wished I lived nearer so I could have one every morning! This feels a safe, clean and friendly cafe and I would highly recommend a visit 👍 Thanks Quayside Cassie Knight

I’m sorry to have to give such a bad review but hope it will prompt the owners to improve on what occurred at this cafe on my visit today. I approached the cafe who are only serving takeaway at the moment due to COVID and I noticed that they had a screen up at the front so were obviously taking all the correct procedures. Unfortunately this is not the case. There was one woman taking orders behind the screen and one woman making the coffees in the back. Sadly after my order was taken I could see the lady in the back coughing on her hands whilst in the middle of making the coffee. She did not wash them and further to this her mask was not covering her nose the entire time, it hadn’t slipped, she was wearing it like this. Once she had made the coffee she was then coming to the front door and handing people their coffee directly to them with no distance in place whatsoever and no hand washing/sanitising between orders even though she was handing people sugars etc too. Most bizarre given that the screen was in place to protect customers and workers. There needs to be a much better system in place than this to ensure safety. Worst of all the coffee was awful and after two sips got dumped in the bin. Such a waste of money.

Mi esposo, yo y nuestro perro llamamos hoy para tomar café y almorzar. Mi marido tenía el café con leche de caramelo y dijo que era extremadamente bueno. Tuve la envoltura de pollo de coronación que estaba llena de relleno y venía con una deliciosa ensalada y patatas fritas. Mi marido volvió a comer tostadas de jamón, queso y tomate con ensalada y patatas fritas y dijo que estaba muy bueno. Nuestro perro no se quedó afuera y tenía una galleta. El personal era encantador, muy amable. Volveremos.

A veces, cuando se trabaja desde casa (y cuando ha estado lloviendo afuera durante tres días seguidos) puede tener fiebre de cabina grave. La lluvia torrencial y los vientos fuertes son desalentadores para lo mejor de nosotros, pero cuando tienes un perro muy nervioso que necesita mucho ejercicio, el tormentoso Reino Unido no es tu amigo.Aquí es donde el café Quayside proporcionó un hermoso descanso de bienvenida de las horas sentadas adentro o los paseos de perros extremadamente empapados. La encantadora y amigable dama (con cabello rubio, perdón por no haber entendido tu nombre) se tomó el tiempo de venir a saludar a mi perro, dándole mucha atención (que le encantaba) y galletas adicionales. El personal no era la única gente amable allí, pero todos los clientes también eran amables, lo que le daba un ambiente agradable.Para cualquier paseador de perros que quiera escapar de las condiciones ventosas del muelle, que busque un descanso cálido y seco para perros entre su paseo o simplemente busque un café agradable con un ambiente cálido y acogedor, le recomiendo este café. El café era encantador, con leche caliente para un calor extra. Una galleta pequeña siempre es una bonificación cuando pide una bebida en una cafetería y es aún más una bonificación cuando su perro también la compra.¡Gracias al personal y a los clientes por un ambiente encantador y un delicioso descanso matutino debido a las condiciones húmedas y ventosas y la fiebre de la cabina que trabaja desde casa!

Really friendly staff and always a really nice coffee or tea. Prices are good too. Good views as you drink or eat your cakes and other sweet treats.

I went for lunch with my son. We had two fabulous baguettes and cake. Coffee was lovely. Staff incredibly attentive. We watched the boat racing and took our cake back inside when it started raining. I wish the owners every success I their new venture and I for one will certainly be back for a second helping.

Lovely spot for lunch. Fresh food, great prices and lovely staff. Would definitely visit again if in Exeter. Highly recommend!

Después de un paseo por Dartmoor, cuatro de nosotros nos dirigimos a este encantador café para un delicioso almuerzo. 3 de nosotros habíamos triturado aguacate sobre tostadas con ensalada de salsa casera y mi esposo tenía envoltura de pollo de coronación con una ensalada realmente interesante, todo delicioso y muy fresco, obviamente recién hecho. Entonces no pudimos resistir el affogato con helado de tío Tom y la tarta de ciruela asada y almendras con crema fresca coagulada. El personal es cálido y amable y Laura, la mecenas, hornea todos sus pasteles y postres. Los precios son muy razonables, pero lo que más me impresionó fue la calidad de los ingredientes y lo recién hecha que está toda la comida. Muy recomendable.

Visitamos aquí la semana pasada y el servicio fue excelente. El café era encantador y la tarta era increíble. El personal nos hizo sentir bienvenidos y, aunque tenían un autocar lleno, se mostraron educados y alegres en todo momento. Cuando estés en Exeter, prueba esta pequeña joya de lugar.

Whilst walking around the beautiful Exeter Quay area we stopped off at the Quayside Coffee Shop, ideally located opposite the blue suspension bridge. Really lovely staff and made us very welcome. Delicious ice cream.

Can highly recommend this lovely family run place that ticked all the boxes for us. I have visited this coffee shop a number of times while walking the dog at Exeter Quay. I really enjoyed the cake and coffee. They also sell dog ice cream, which my pooch always enjoys. The person behind the counter is always cheerful and friendly and could not be more helpful. A great coffee shop and highly recommend.

Lovely position, by the river, with indoor and outdoor tables. However, the outdoor chairs reclined far too steeply to be comfortable for us.

Pooped in for an Americano and a Flat white coffee. What a treat! Some of the best coffee I've had for a while.

We visit this coffee shop every week while walking our dogs along the river. The dogs are made welcome inside. The staff couldn’t be more friendly. The coffee and food are excellent. It is very clean and I would highly recommend this place for everyone. There is also plenty of space for pushchairs. Just cross the blue footbridge from the quay and it’s straight in front of you.

This lovely place on the quay in Exeter where you can relax and drink proper coffee I enjoyed a decaf Mocha My wife had a lovely milky Cappuccino We will stop here whenever we are in Exeter

We were coming to the end of a long(ish) walk on our visit to Exeter from Cheshire and there it was...the perfect little cafe. Not expensive, not a chain, wonderfully friendly service and terrific coffee.

Popped in for an ice-cream - ended up having a drink and a piece of cake too! The ice cream was delicious with a good variety of flavours. The lemon cake was to die for and the hot drinks range was huge! The staff were super friendly. Thank you!

I popped in for an ice cream after my walk sound the Quay today. Staff very friendly and served me promptly. Yummy mint chocolate chip ice cream hit the spot!

That's all I can recommend is that you go to this café, the food is great, the coffee is delicious, the service is excellent, the staff are so so so so friendly. 10/10 would come back again. Great place, great atmosphere.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere just next to the water and some comfy sofas. Spacious. Good selection of drinks and food. Nice chai latte and iced coffee. Love the vinyl on the wall and the decor. Look forward to coming back!

Chose this place mainly because of the Fairtrade organic coffee, but turned out to be an inspired choice for watching the world go by. Served by a very pleasant chap who brought the coffee out for me. In addition to being organic Fairtrade (which w my vote every time) it was also excellently made. Definitely recommended.

I visited on a drizzly day with my little one. There was a wide range of different seating options in the small cafe. I opted for the sofa and used one of their high chairs.

The ideal place to stop for a coffee when walking your dog along the canal. Vey friendly and the coffee is excellent.

A well run Coffee Shop with friendly and efficient service. When we have been at the quays we now tend to pop in here for a good cup of coffee and a scone or tea cake. Highly recommended

A small, cosy,up to date and very clean cafe on the quayside offering coffee, a range of sandwiches, beautiful cakes and ice cream. Very friendly people run this cafe and the coffee and cakes that I have tried are excellent. The position encourages you to spend longer than intended as you watch the world go by. I hope in future to see a few more Gluten free options on their menu but otherwise I love this cafe.

Whilst visiting Exeter Quayside we used this Coffee shop for refreshments.We tried their organic coffee,which was different,but enjoyable.whilst there we enjoyed looking in the vinyl record shop.

Small but clean and bright with lovely friendly staff. The scones, jam and clotted cream were delicious and they even gave us more jam when we asked. All the food served looked fresh and appetising.

Lovely little place, we only came in from the wind for a quick stop, but stayed for an hour and more.

Called here for lunch one Saturday. Quite a small cafe but the service was very good, as was the quality of the food. An attractive setting and an enjoyable lunch.

This lovely little coffee shop is the ideal spot in winter for a fabulous hot chocolate with all the trimmings in a proper mug whilst people watching, or enjoying a well deserved ice cream or milkshake in the summer after a stroll around the quayside.

This coffee shop is lovely. Brilliant place to go after a stroll around the quay or just to catch up over a cuppa. Very tasty food with generous portions, warming drinks and very friendly staff. All round brilliant place.

Visiting the coffee shop has become a bit of a weekend ritual for us. It's great to walk the dog along the river knowing that we can (along with the dog) finish up with a nice drink and something to eat. We have, over time, sampled most of the menu and we have never had a bad experience. It has a friendly atmosphere, and they also have gluten free foods, with reasonable prices too; so it's a win, win all round for us. We have recommended Quayside Coffee Shop to all our friends and family, and tell anyone it's well worth a visit.

Yesterday was the second time of visiting The Quayside Coffee Shop. It was a very cold day but we had a warm welcome by the owner, it's lovely to see an independent business. The coffee is superb a bonus being fair trade. Delicious selection of cakes.

This coffee shop has outside tables[ watch out for seagulls sharing the food ] but can be a bit cosy inside if the weather is inclement ! The coffee is good and an excellent selection of cakes and pastries to accompany .Staff are friendly and helpful .

Delicious cakes and hot chocolates. Although there were no vegan food options for the little person in our group, the wonderful lady who worked there gave us her own banana, free of charge. By far the best customer service I have received in a long time, the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and really went the extra mile for us. I cannot recommend them enough, plus they sell a great selection of vinyl too!

I have walked past many times with the dog and always kept walking, I'm more a pub man than coffee shop customer. By chance I heard the proprietor on local radio discussing his love of music and having already noticed his in store vinyl collection, I decided the next time I passed I would call in.

Stumbled across this place on a walk by the Quay today: what a fabulous find. A relaxed atmosphere with food and drink you actually want to eat and can afford. Love the addition of record corner too!
