Would not have feed Hunters chicken to my dog never again

My waiter Austin gave me great service and all of it was great the food was great the atmosphere was great

Easy to find a table , got served straight away when ordering, a pleasant girl called austin brought on meals quickly + was very Friendly, came over again to ask is everything OK, enjoyed our meals, we could also take our dog in.

It was super yummy but took a long time to get to the table

We often have lunch at the QuakerWood and find the staff are always welcoming, helpful and efficient.

Here for the Euros and had a great time, great atmosphere and won 6 drinks in the half time draw! My burger was a bit burnt but food usually good. Would recommend.

Excellent staff, very friendly with great service and the atmosphere of the place itself is fantastic.

Eaten here a few times and can't fault the food or the staff. There's also toys hanging around for little ones to play with. Prices are decent and overall just a lovely place to pop in. They also allow dogs which is a massive bonus

Good food at a reasonable price.

There are clearly regulars that attend this pub and they were served first both times I went to the bar even though I was clearly first. One lad on the till a lot of the time. I ordered a kids burger with beans for one child. The beans were over-microwaved and not eaten. I ordered a kids steak dinner with no onions. The steak came in a bed of onions. She doesn’t like onions. My dinner came when I was at the toilet and the table two along said it was theirs so they ate it. I chased my food up and explained where it had gone. They apologised and after a while they brought my food. I got chicken wings and they were quite nice.

Great food and excellent service - we booked a table for 6pm Friday night for 3 of us and we were swiftly seated with food and drink arriving quickly. We had the slow rib, tandoori chicken burger and hunters chicken. All great and left us feeling very full. Everything was super tasty, big portions, great value for money. All the staff are lovely and welcoming too. Very family and dog friendly. First time visit and we will be back!

I ordered a XL mixed grill what I got was anything but grilled. The salad must have sitting in the kitchen for two days. It was rank and it stank. The gammon was just salt shaped like meat. The chicken could not be seen and I’m sure was microwaved from frozen. The steak was allegedly 8oz of which 9oz was fat and grizzle. The sausage was obviously leftover from yesterday and dried well. No sign of onion rings. The fried onions were just mush. All that was swimming in oil. I don’t think their chef understands the meaning grilled. I never send food back known what can happen to food the arrives back. Overall, totally disgusting, not an experience I care to repeat.

Could not fault welcome, staff very busy as bank holiday but wait for food was very long and some of it was dry. Sauces not topped up and tables sticky. Had to ask for serviettes. Disappointing as had heard really good reports.

Ordered bacon cheese burger meal requested no bread bun arrived 30 mins later, no bacon small amount of chips, thought maybe they would of least given a bit of salad considering I forfeited the bun. The burger however was very tasty..

Waited 2 hours for food and was told it hadn’t even been started yet then asked for the manager and got laughed at. Never coming back here again.

Absolutely shocking service, second time we’ve been now as a family and been let down. Ordered food two hours ago, then asked at the bar how long it would be. To be told it hadn’t even been started, complained to the manager and was laughed at. Won’t be coming here again, pub has gone so downhill.

We were a table of 6. When we ordered our food we were told we would be waiting 30 minutes, which was not a problem, we were fine to wait. When food arrived 45 minutes later, they brought 4 and a half of the meals out, we were told we would be waiting another 2 minutes while we waited for one of the Gammon Steaks and the rest of one of the other meals, well we waited and it did not arrive until everyone else had finished eating. Absolutely awful. Half of the food was cold. Would not go back again. Ever.

We came today for lunch and a couple of drinks, food was lovely, really good value for money staff were polite, couldn’t fault anything really and will be back!

Visited on Tuesday evening was very surprised by the quality of food Thanks to Danny and Tyler as I asked Shannon who served us what the chefs names were they deserve to be commended , Shannon was polite and very accommodating nothing was to much trouble service with a smile very impressed indeed will be coming again what a great team you have Quaker wood ! Thanks again.

We have enjoyed our meals every time we've visited Quakerwood York, the Rib of Beef is to die for, the staff are very professional and friendly. We travel to York from Grimsby on a regular basis to visit our Daughter and always have Lunch in the Quakerwood. We fully recommend it.

Spot on cracking food the service is 2nd to none worth a visit

Nice family oriented pub with good food, can get a little noisy at times but otherwise well worth a visit.

Compared to other pubs the prices are very reasonable. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. The food was decent for the price.

Recently attended a charity event for ‘make a wish’ at Quakerwood. It was a wonderfully organised event for a great cause! The pub had been decorated beautifully and the kids loved it, there was a kids mini disco which was fantastic and 4 x princesses that were magical! A lot of effort had been put into the event and you could certainly tell! They raised over £950 and had some fantastic raffle prices on offer too! The kids face painting was a hit and my daughter had a magical afternoon! I would have paid admission for such a fun event in the future 😉

The staff and food here are fabulous

The Quakerwood is our local and I often go with friends and family. The place has been transformed since Bex took over as manager, the pub is now a community venue for live entertainment, family events such as Easter & Halloween parties for the kids and many charity fundraisers etc. The staff are all brilliant and work really hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. Food has improved massively. We love it! Thanks Bex & Team Quaker ♥️

Our permanent place for tasty dinners

We are locals at this pub and every time they never fail to impress. From the bar staff to the food always 10/10. We decided to do something different this Christmas and booked in with the Quakerwood. The food was lovely and the staff again didn’t fail to put a smile on our faces. Thank you for always making us feel welcome.

Had the most amazing Christmas Dinner tonight with my friend. 3 course meal for such a great price. Absolutely lovely meal. All staff are amazing, we are regulars here but tonight they really did put on a fantastic service. Special thanks to Sarah who went above & beyond to make our night extra special. Truly awful. The menus, tables, floor, crockery and cutlery were sticky and dirty. Our mains appeared before the starters. The one dessert we ordered never turned up. The food is bad. The only food that appeared fresh was the battered chicken strips, probably because the turnaround is high given that the majority of the menu involves chicken strips. The side salad was not fresh and quite frankly, rank. My chips were soggy and lukewarm. I also had the pleasure of lukewarm nacho cheese sauce which was basically a cheese flavoured gloop. I could have complained at the time but looking at the state of the place I couldn't see the point. The place needs a good steam clean and new management. I never expected 5 star cuisine but this was terrible.

Fantastic festive family get together for seventeen of us this afternoon. Fabulous food and admiral service from the staff who coped well with our large party. The festive burger with half a melted Camembert was amazeballs! Highly recommended and exceptional value.

We booked our table and was quickly taken to our seat, lots of areas to choose from with different sports on different tvs. The space on the table was pretty narrow though. Drinks were good, food was excellent! The food in question arrived quickly and as said, it was good food at a very affordable price, lots of choice and deals to choose from. 8/10 would go again.

Cheap pub grub,reasonable price beer

Nice pub, staff friendly and good service but the food let's it down.

The pub has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The staff are friendly, making sure you have everything you need. The menu at Quakerwood Pub offers a great variety of pub classics with a twist. The beef rib just fell off the bone, very tender. The mixed grill was plentiful. The hot plates they use are fantastic, as I've never had an egg stay that hot. The only downside was the sausage; it was overcooked. The other meats were flavorful and satisfying with the way they were cooked. We enjoyed two cappuccinos as well. Overall, it was a great meal and great value for the two of us. I would eat there again if and when we were up that end.

I have a burger and chips meal it was very nice. I have never visited this place before.

Brilliant service. Food wad hot and not microwaved like a lot of these places. Great place to take the family for bite. Go on a Thursday and its BOGOF on all their burgers

I had the regular mixed grill and I have to say it's the best I've had in years. The portion was just right the onions tasted fantastic with all of the meats on top and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. Alongside the chips and onion rings. Hubby had a burger which he said tasted great but when he saw my mixed grill he wished he had ordered the same.🤣🥰

Not as nice as the last time we went. Portions were smaller and the Epic dessert wasn't. Disappointed. Staff were good but place lacking something! Shame.

No long delay waiting for food to be served, lovely hosts. My only concern is that dogs can go in that's not a problem but maybe have an area for dogs and owners. We were enjoying our meal and someone with a large dog sat near to us my 8 year old granddaughter was very uncomfortable that a dog was sat near her and barking quite a lot. Other thanthat it was great.

Great selection of dishes reasonably prices ,( bargin for class of food, the specials 2 main courses for ,,,£12.50.,,) All our party were satisfied with The dishes they choose. Great service, all our meals were delivered within 10 minutes of ordering. When the bill came, we were pleasantly surprised how little Our party ate for. We will definitely visit again . Delicious food highly recommended.

Little bit better atmosphere today, they quaker has had a rough ride with staff problems lately, but looking a bit more promising. Still nice to meet up with the loyal customer base supporting their local, I for one will always continue to visit and hopefully they will get the support it deserves. 👍recently paid a visit, getting a bit more support, organising the Sunday W.C. final for England ladies, looks like a full house with all tables booked, sorry I can't be there to enjoy the atmosphere but I bet it's electric, even more so if they win.👍⚽️

Very nice and polite staff. Service was lovely. Nana didn’t like the chips too much. But we don’t listen to her often.

We order ours food , 1 signature chicken burger , 2 signature millionaire and 2 kids chicken nuggets. When the food arrived to ours table the waiting staff put it down and it was all the wrong food 2 kids burgers and a single chicken burger,waited to see any member of staff to let them know about the mistake. She was like surprised when we told her and asked us what we order we told her and she say ok kids is wrong but the chicken burger is OK, I have to pick the menu and show her it was wrong as she took it back and come back with the same burger but with 1 tiny peace of extra chicken on top and supposed to be a pull chicken, we have to call her again because was missing the bacon the sauce and something else but can't remember now. So she took it back and bring it back. We order before the same burger and it was completely different taste it have a different sauce on it last times spice and more tasty. We order second round of drinks again on the app and after 15 minutes when we all finished the food I had to go to the bar and ask for it. Waiting staff say they don't receive the order on they side and the same with the desserts. Food and service very poor quality this time. I working on customer service F&B department and understand sometimes can be mistakes but it shouldn't affect the quality of food in anyway, I am normally not writing bad reviews but you have send me a message asking to do it so here it is. If the app is not working properly to order you should disable it till is is sorted. Sorry for the review.

I loved this amazing fish and chips place. It is spotless. The fish is delicious. This is the first time I have seen such a fish and chips place. It is like a luxury restaurant. It is wonderful and wonderful.

Been going here for years food okay but they forgot to put reserved on a table for locals and because we got that table we were made to feel very uncomfortable by staff and locals thank you for replying but you have misunderstood me we had not booked a table but we sat at a table that other people had booked but we were not aware of this has there was no reserve note on table all we could hear while we were eating was moans abour it which made it very uncomfortable that we didn't stay for a another drink like we normally do

Well called in for a bit of lunch It was served on a roasting tray really The food is out of frezzer to table but which is expected in these places Well the salad was deafinatley not fresh i would never have served it they tried to hid it with dressing and i had a thick peice of onion peel with it The coleslaw was runny and cheap typical standard again Runny and a couple bits of carrott Deafinatley no standards in this place obviously cheap food And get drinkers in Im still in shock At the roasting tray obviously he was lazy and couldnt be bothered to carry it through He was a skinny chap did the bar as well Id never reccomend eating here again...

We didn't eat here this time, but previously the food has been a little hit and miss. Very much a chain pub, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Service is quick and courteous.

A great local pub - good food and friendly service. The scampi and chips were spot on and my husband had a very generous and tasty pie and mash. Would return again if we're holidaying here in the future.

Good friendly staff. We phoned to check it was open on a Monday, no one picked up, but the guy on the bar returned our call. Never had a pub do this before, so impressed I added a tenner onto the tip. Food is very good, some great deals. Have to say the mac n cheese was a very small portion (one layer on an oval serving dish) which was a shame as pasta isn't expensive. We did return a few times regardless because the other meals were good value.

Extremely disappointing service! How can refuse to serve food until the kitchen designated to be open! Never come back! Obviously tell all my friends and family about it!

Booked for a group of nine on Mother’s Day. Table was reserved and ready upon our arrival. We received really good service by all staff and was also told about a free Mother’s Day drink, which was a nice touch. Our food came quickly and all meals arrived at the same time. We all ordered different things and everyone of us enjoyed our meal. Many thanks for a lovely experience 😊
