food was bad waited 50 minutes for my food, everyone was finished eating when I got mine, my burger was burnt my granddaughter mixed grill was over cooked the chicken was very chewy won't be eating there again

The pub is brilliant , has great food , and has great staff . They fitted us in when they were already extremely busy and did everything to make us feel very welcome . The mixed grills were excellent, good portions, tender steaks, and chicken strips were a good portion also .

Typical green king staff were nice and polite,wow here i am back 2 years later and its not good the food came out cold and the gravy just fell out of the boat freezing cold in lumps disgusting and never again

Used be a great ale house. Now they don't know how to keep beer. Service is so slow even if no one is in . And don't get me started on the food.

Our local pub. Always a good place to come for some weekday food after work. Food always good, good prices, service is fast and staff are lovely. We like the 2 classics for £13.49 deal midweek.

Came here on Saturday the 15th to celebrate my niece and nephew 18th. Lovely family atmosphere, made to feel welcome. Food was good, and we all enjoyed what we ordered, and the desert that the two boys ordered looked tasty. We were going to leave however a lovely member of staff called Bex came over and said a Pink tribute was starting and really accommodated us with adding extra chairs and a table, thank you to other members of staff who helped assist with that to. Bex was helpful with the drinks menu ( we don't go out often haha) she made our nieces 18th celebrations even better with her expertise in the drinks menu and also bringing birthday shots, thank you. We had a absolute blast that night and that was down to the excellent customer service and going beyond, I heard Bex say its her job, well you made our night and one a 18year old won't forget, thank you. We live quite far from the Quakerwood, but have decided we will definitely return for a meal as a family again and have planned another birthday celebration. Thank you to the wonderful stuff who make the pub what is, we were all so comfortable there and are looking forward to visiting again. Once again massive shout out to Bex fantastic customer service.

Fab night for my daughters 18th, only came for food and a few drinks but Bex went above and beyond to make sure she had a great time sorting out a table for us to enjoy the live music aswell

We came in as a family, ordered a good amount of food—a lot of meat and mixed bites. The staff were really friendly, the food came out fast and piping hot, and it was delicious.! Even the chiled was digging in whud highly recomend for a bite to eat and a drink

Lovely comfortable pub where you are made to feel right at home, the staff are fabulous and very attentive, brilliant night on a Thursday for quiz definitely get your selves down! 100% worth it!

Unfortunately myself did not like the vegetarian options available.. They could be better and served better rather than on trays. On our birthday trip there we found service slow but friendly when our food arrived... I doubt I shall return there again has its not my kind of eating place. York does offer better pub food even for vegetarians and atmosphere.

Rotten steak on my mixed grill wasn’t the best of experiences. How the chef didn’t smell it is beyond me. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress she was also shocked at the pungent smell. A free desert is what was offered a joke really. I ate some of my sausage and a bit of gammon and I had stomach issues for 24 hours. I think this place needs a visit from health and safety

Always a warm welcome, great atmosphere and fab food from the team at the Quakerwood. Staff are attentive without being overbearing, service is fast even when the team are having a busy day and quality of experience does not waver.

Staff seemed uninterested. Had plates on the table for at least 30 minutes after eating. They were not busy. Had to go up to the bar and ask that the table gets cleared

The food was really good and the young guy called Ash was very good and polite A bit more training is needed for the young girl behind the bar she didnt know how to deal with my Greene King gift card and gave me half a shandy when i asked for half a coors lager even though she charged me for lager Otherwise an enjoyable experience

I went there 3 years ago and I had food in there and the starter made my younger brother feel ill and it made him food poisoning and I can’t cooperate with the people who made that food but I can’t what it looks like but it’s like chicken but unseasoned and chips was hot but lucky I didn’t get any of that chicken and neither did my mum my dad and my sister but we can tell it wasn’t cooked properly but my brother didn’t know and as he ate it he throw up everywhere as I got home and it fears me out and the drinks wasn’t that good and it was my cousin’s christening at the same time and most kids ate them and got ill as well

Arrived today about 2pm (Saturday). Not busy. No lemonade or coke on draft, not too much of an issue. But glass bottles of coke were flat and warm. Food took a while to arrive. 2 gammon meals, 1 hunters chicken and 2 kids pastas. Not sure if the girl serving was new but seemed very nervous putting plates on table. Gammon was OK, hardly any chips with any of the adults meals, peas on the meals were cold. Chicken was dry. Kids were served raw pasta and burnt garlic bread. Sent back and fresh meal brought out although the pasta wasn't much better than the first lot but garlic bread was better. Girl serving did keep apologising. Not her fault when she's not the chef. What a shame. Won't be returning.

Always busy so clearly doing something right. Sports type pub with weekly entertainment and average food that you'd expect for the price.

Long wait for deserts, Biscof cheesecake was awful, very dry and didn't taste like cheesecake, well past its use by date i think, the adults brownie was not much bigger than the kids size, with a big price difference, total waste of money on deserts!

Gambler 2 known by staff as gambler 4 wasn't in service even though it's my favourite. The other 4 gamblers ripped all my life savings away. Also spilt a pint on myself in disgust of the machines absolute rippiniess. But overall a good local pub. (Gamblers beware)

Lovely couple of hours here. Staff brilliant and food was excellent. I had the Southern Fried chicken skewer and the others had the Cheesy BBQ stack burgers. Would definitely come here again!

Great local pub, relaxed atmosphere, not too loud. Tables are well spread out. Great menu and friendly and helpful staff. Not alot of pie choices. No chicken pie for example. They don't have chilli con carne on the menu which I certainly would have gone for if they had it.

My waiter Austin gave me great service and all of it was great the food was great the atmosphere was great

Easy to find a table , got served straight away when ordering, a pleasant girl called austin brought on meals quickly + was very Friendly, came over again to ask is everything OK, enjoyed our meals, we could also take our dog in.

Here for the Euros and had a great time, great atmosphere and won 6 drinks in the half time draw! My burger was a bit burnt but food usually good. Would recommend.

Excellent staff, very friendly with great service and the atmosphere of the place itself is fantastic.

Eaten here a few times and can't fault the food or the staff. There's also toys hanging around for little ones to play with. Prices are decent and overall just a lovely place to pop in. They also allow dogs which is a massive bonus

Good food at a reasonable price.

There are clearly regulars that attend this pub and they were served first both times I went to the bar even though I was clearly first. One lad on the till a lot of the time. I ordered a kids burger with beans for one child. The beans were over-microwaved and not eaten. I ordered a kids steak dinner with no onions. The steak came in a bed of onions. She doesn’t like onions. My dinner came when I was at the toilet and the table two along said it was theirs so they ate it. I chased my food up and explained where it had gone. They apologised and after a while they brought my food. I got chicken wings and they were quite nice.

Great food and excellent service - we booked a table for 6pm Friday night for 3 of us and we were swiftly seated with food and drink arriving quickly. We had the slow rib, tandoori chicken burger and hunters chicken. All great and left us feeling very full. Everything was super tasty, big portions, great value for money. All the staff are lovely and welcoming too. Very family and dog friendly. First time visit and we will be back!

I ordered a XL mixed grill what I got was anything but grilled. The salad must have sitting in the kitchen for two days. It was rank and it stank. The gammon was just salt shaped like meat. The chicken could not be seen and I’m sure was microwaved from frozen. The steak was allegedly 8oz of which 9oz was fat and grizzle. The sausage was obviously leftover from yesterday and dried well. No sign of onion rings. The fried onions were just mush. All that was swimming in oil. I don’t think their chef understands the meaning grilled. I never send food back known what can happen to food the arrives back. Overall, totally disgusting, not an experience I care to repeat.

Could not fault welcome, staff very busy as bank holiday but wait for food was very long and some of it was dry. Sauces not topped up and tables sticky. Had to ask for serviettes. Disappointing as had heard really good reports.

Ordered bacon cheese burger meal requested no bread bun arrived 30 mins later, no bacon small amount of chips, thought maybe they would of least given a bit of salad considering I forfeited the bun. The burger however was very tasty..

Waited 2 hours for food and was told it hadn’t even been started yet then asked for the manager and got laughed at. Never coming back here again.

Absolutely shocking service, second time we’ve been now as a family and been let down. Ordered food two hours ago, then asked at the bar how long it would be. To be told it hadn’t even been started, complained to the manager and was laughed at. Won’t be coming here again, pub has gone so downhill.

We were a table of 6. When we ordered our food we were told we would be waiting 30 minutes, which was not a problem, we were fine to wait. When food arrived 45 minutes later, they brought 4 and a half of the meals out, we were told we would be waiting another 2 minutes while we waited for one of the Gammon Steaks and the rest of one of the other meals, well we waited and it did not arrive until everyone else had finished eating. Absolutely awful. Half of the food was cold. Would not go back again. Ever.

We came today for lunch and a couple of drinks, food was lovely, really good value for money staff were polite, couldn’t fault anything really and will be back!

We have enjoyed our meals every time we've visited Quakerwood York, the Rib of Beef is to die for, the staff are very professional and friendly. We travel to York from Grimsby on a regular basis to visit our Daughter and always have Lunch in the Quakerwood. We fully recommend it.

Spot on cracking food the service is 2nd to none worth a visit

Nice family oriented pub with good food, can get a little noisy at times but otherwise well worth a visit.

Compared to other pubs the prices are very reasonable. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. The food was decent for the price.

Recently attended a charity event for ‘make a wish’ at Quakerwood. It was a wonderfully organised event for a great cause! The pub had been decorated beautifully and the kids loved it, there was a kids mini disco which was fantastic and 4 x princesses that were magical! A lot of effort had been put into the event and you could certainly tell! They raised over £950 and had some fantastic raffle prices on offer too! The kids face painting was a hit and my daughter had a magical afternoon! I would have paid admission for such a fun event in the future 😉
