Qmin in Southend-on-Sea

First and last time I’ll be ordering from here. Chicken in the korma was dry and chewy.. very low quality meat used. Sauce was terribly running and not thick like a korma should be and absolutely non existent of coconut. Rice lacked flavour. Mint sauce was the worst I’ve had. Only thing good was the onion bhaji and popadom. If there was an award for the worst Indian in Leigh you’d definitely win it.

I have been a regular customer of Qmin for years and have never been disappointed with the food until recently. I ordered a chicken vindaloo and pilau rice yesterday evening but it was awful. The vindaloo tasted chemically, the chicken was extremely dry and had lots of the dark blood bits inside. The pilau rice was very dry and tasted like it had been cooked hours ago, then reheated. It was the worst curry I’ve ever ordered!

We have Indian from Qmin and no other place because it has always been Fantastic but after last night I'm looking for somewhere new. Our plates were full of water and this was after draining it once already, we both had really bad stomachs all night from the back end if you know what I mean and still not great this morning. Won't be buying again, such a shame as lovely owners and never had a problem before.

QMIN. It's gotta be the best Indian takeaway in the area. Been using them for approx 5 years. And never had a bad one, always on time and taste great. Keep up the good work 👏 💪🏆

It was great experience in the very first order through QMIN , i would say it is really a great initiative from Taj group of hotels for food lovers who cant go out and want to take similar taste , texture & temperature of restaurants experience at home. I have ordered for veg indian family feast from VNDD and really enjoyed every single bite of each and every dish. I would definitely recommend QMIN to my family n friends . SPECIAL thanks to kitchen CHEFs and qmin service team for giving wonderful experience. Thank you so much chef Sandeep yadav , chef pankaj , chef ravinder for delicious food. SERVICE staff are also very helpfull for smooth delivery n great packaging. Kapil & Dharam were great assist to COMPANY.

This is a takeaway and delivery place only, next to Waitrose on the London Road. But don't be put off by the fact that it's not a full restaurant, the food is good! With a very extensive menu of all the Indian standards and some specials, Qmin is now on JustEat so it's easier to order online for delivery. I've had takeaways twice from there and the food is good, portions generous and delivery very prompt and helpful. Stand out dish for me was the Lamb Sag, packed with flavour and fresh herbs and spices, it was delicious. Chicken tikka was good too, and they send a box of salad and condiments with every order. I'd recommend it.

10% discount for collecting and the food is good, always polite and friendly

I had been recommended to Qmin by someone a few years back but only got round to ordering from there last night. Whilst there was nothing wrong with the flavours or the meat, apart from receiving prawn korma instead of the chicken we ordered (although in hindsight the prawns were more like tiny shrimps - potentially frozen not fresh), the sauces were very runny. The onion bhajees were lovely though. However, overall it was a little disappointing and we won’t be ordering from here again, as we are spoiled for choice in this area.

Tried because of the adverts I have seen - absolutely terrible. Curries and in particular the daal totally plain and tasteless. Very disappointed. Better off going to Waitrose next door and I mean that honestly!

I had the vegetable Dansak. The curry was very plain (considering it’s advertised as hot) and only a small amount of veg so it was mostly sauce. The rice was below average.

After never having an Indian takeaway my husband and I ordered one tonight (15/07/20) for our 25th Anniversary. It was on recommendation from my parents. The service was brilliant and the delivery driver was so lovely. We thought we didnt order a lot but they were very generous portions and sooo tasty!! I had the chicken Rogan Josh and my husband had the chicken Bhuna with daal and sag aloo. I could have just had papadoms and a vat of the mint sauce lol Will most definitely order again from yourselves. Thank you for a lovely meal on our special day and in trying times!! I would only say one small thing and that's that I would have liked more coconut in my peshwari naan but then I love coconut.

We had an very good takeaway first time using Qmin and would recommend Excellent, hot, and very quick delivery, thankyou we will order again.

Have been going to QMin 7 or more years always hot good food but tonight onion bargi cold & sauce tasted bad! Very disappointing!

Overall still my favourite Indian takeaway in Leigh. Tasty food, generous portions and good value for money.

Just had a delivery from Qmin and the food was quite disgusting. This is now the 2nd time recently I have had to complain as the curry was basically a watery soup. Qmin used to be the best takeaway but now it doesn’t seem to be able to produce edible food. They gave me my money back immediately and apologised . Something has gone wrong with that business!!

Having used a few really good Indian take-away restaurants in this area Qmin came highly recommended. Having tried it, I have no intention of using any other take away. The food is outstanding. With very generous portions. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Once, among the best around the area. Now, sadly, on this occasion, among the worst. We have used Qmin ever since they opened and despite not being the cheapest, we have always been happy with the quality of the food. I did email Qmin to give them an opportunity to repond, but as yet, no reply.

Not sure wether theres a change of chefs, but its not as great as it once was, meat was not at its best, bit too hard for our tastes, shame as it was top for years.

Ate here for the first time yesterday as we read a recommendation. Madras chicken - dry chicken, boring sauce which was nothing like a Madras, wasn't even spicy - yuk! Lamb Biriyani - mushy rice, chewy lamb and the boring, flavourless curry sauce. Come on guys you do not demonstrate any passion for your food.

I have tried many takeaways in Leigh-on-Sea. I will rate Qmin Best Curry House, Curry was delicious. Order again soon.

I’ve used this takeaway for years and I always used to go on and on about how good this Indian is to my friends. Chicken used to be absolutely to die for, melt in the mouth and amazing flavours, I remember the curry sauces were excellent as well. Last couple of times I ordered, rice has been fantastic as usual, but chicken rock hard and the curry sauces quite bland, I keep going back hoping each time that it’s a minor cock up but it seems to be a change of chef or some kind of cost cut. Please go back to how you used to be!!! I will return once more but will hope to see improvements

Butter chicken was not butter chicken, I have no idea what that was. Barjis are on the cold side of being warm.. there was nothing I could eat after waiting so long.

We have often had takeaways from here as it has always been lovely food and excellent service in the past. However our latest order, although still available in good time, really tasted very bland and the quality of the main ingredients was poor. Please tell us this was a one off and will improve again promptly or we will have to find a new Indian takeaway alternative.

We used Qmin regularly a few years back and it was without the best Indian takeaway in the area and always sung there praises to all our friends. We stopped using them for no other reason than leaving the area. Today we decided out of the blue to order a meal for 2 from them. I am not sure what has happened to this takeaway but the food was terrible, whilst the mushroom rice was really good the Chicken Tikka Dansak and Chicken Tikka Jalfrazi were both over cooked, dry and quite tasteless. It's amazing how a restaurant can decline in such a short period, needless to say we won't be ordering any more takeaways from them, sad.

We have used Qmin Take Away for a long time, the food is always excellent and tasty. Delivery is always fast and on time, would never use any other Indian Take Away.

Nice flavours Good portions Unfortunately this was let down by low quality meat. The chicken tasted very processed and rubbery.

Did it last Christmas Eve and did it again this Christmas eve, brought our favourite Currys and used them over 2 days, what a great change to Turkey, and it matures well in the fridge, if they ever opened a restaurant they would have cracked the food side of things, but guess they want to keep it simple with the Take away only.

Ordered a meal from this takeaway eagerly anticipating a decent place to get a curry in Leigh. Unfortunately I was left disappointed. The tikka masala was too sweet for my pallet, lamb dish tough, chicken tikka dry and tasteless. The food was also very oily. Having said all of this the premises was clean and the welcome warm.

Qmin is the only Indian restaurant we would ever go to on a regular basis, they never fail to deliver the very best food time after time with really large portions for those with a good appetite. A friend who lives nearby Qmin put us on to them when it first opened, never looked back. Just about to phone an order now.

Very good takeaway for the last few times. Veg bhaji is actually really tasty with discernable vegetables and thankfully not swimming in curry gravy. A stand out dish !

There are a few Indian restaurants in Leigh, but they are not a patch on Qmin. The downside is that Qmin is takeaway only. But given the choice of eating a delicious fresh flavoured curry in your home or an ok Indian meal in a restaurant I would choose to eat at home. The drinks are cheaper too :)

Always come back to the Qmin, the quality and quantity is excellent, the Tamarind Chicken is superb, I am a massive fan of the Y & Y 100 metres away, but this is my preferred choice when taking away,, reliable,consistent and the meat quality flavours and richness is right up my street, proper tasty.

This is my local Indian takeaway and I can recommend their food. Although the menu is not as extensive as some others, the food is of excellent quality and taste.

Pedimos una gran cantidad de comida para 10 personas que originalmente pidió a ser entregado, pero luego llamó de vuelta como decidimos ir y recoger. Llegué a casa y encontré un lado de samosa fue sin embargo falta había un montón de comida, así que no te molestes en llamar de vuelta y diles.

No suelo escribir comentarios, pero no sienten la necesidad de en esta ocasión. Nos dijeron que sería 45 minutos para una comida para llevar. 2 horas más tarde y no hay comunicación y no hay comida. No se podía conseguir a través del teléfono. Finalmente llegamos a la comida 2 horas más tarde. Su conductor no tema pelea - son lentos de cocina la comida - y para rematar, un pelo en la comida, así incomible! Bastante vergonzoso. Es una pena. No pedir de nuevo.

The best Indian in essex! very succulent meat all cooked to perfection and spiced so well with beautiful flavours really wish they had a resturant it would be tip top! Great service great quality for money and better than most Indian resturant 's around 👍👍

If you've ever parked on top of Waitrose on the London rd, chances are you've caught the aromas from Qmin. We ordered a takeaway while finishing our drinks at old leigh one Saturday evening. About 5 minutes after we'd walked home the takeaway arrived and was spot on. That's about 25 minutes all in. Most other places are anything up to an hour.Everything really tasty and good sized portions, ended up with leftovers.

I always go to Qmin for my Indian take away always pleased with quality of food. I always have a set meal B for one person but it's far to much for one person and me and my husband share it.

We've been looking for a decent takeaway for ages after trying several in the Leigh area and finding them all somewhat lacking. Some friends recommended Qmin so we thought we'd give it a go, and I can say it's not just good, but probably one of the best takeaways I've ever had, which I don't say easily. Everything was very fresh, well spiced and delicious - I couldn't fault anything. The delivery service was fast and very friendly too. The takeaway curry hole has definitely been filled!

Qmin is always very good, this is in my top places for a take out, good service very good food although the onion bahjees are a little too soft inside for me, i prefer thinner and some extra crunch, comes 4 in a portion with salad, the Garlic Chicken Tikka is very nice and you can taste the Garlic.!! so it does exactly what it says. Pathia always top quality too., good breads and fresh salads. recommended all round.

Lovely takeaway with restaurant quality food. We are now using this instead of going out for a curry as it is that nice!Had about five curries from here recently and all have been spot on. Would recommended the chicken tikka chilli masala and the tamarine chicken. The masala is very spicy and unlike othe chilli masalas I have had before. The tamarine chicken is beautiful - slightly sweet with a nice kick. All sundries top notch too particularly the tikka naan!

Polite on phone, quick delivery, nice sauces and packaging, but I can't order again because I found the chicken sub standard and watery. I'd rather pay more and get a better produce.

Qmin has never really failed to cook up Indian food just as we like it it since they first opened many years back.The Chicken Madras is spot on and had 8 chunks of quality Chicken in, Madras sauce is great(We do add a swirl of double cream and 1 chopped fresh chilly at home), Pathia has always been a winner in here too sweet,hot and sour with melt in the mouth lamb, prices slowly creeping up but thats a sign of the times, service with a smile, Take away only. and at time of posting 5 out of 5 for scores on the doors food hygiene rating.

I have used this place a few times for my Indian takeaway on the recommendation of a friend and ive been happy with the food, not too long to wait, last time was Valentines week end and got a red rose with the food,, very pleased with that little touch. i had the chicken biriani, and peshwari nam, friend had Chicken madras.

Just had another great meal from Qmin. In my opinion it is the best Indian takeaway in the area. Great tasting food, generous portions and always delivered in a reasonable time.

My wife and I have been eating Indian food for probably 45 years.here goes. This is without any doubt the very best restaurant in Essex,the food tastes like it did when we were first introduced to lndian food, the flavours so nice it's hard to describe the pleasure gained from consuming such wonderful food. I pledge my alligence to Qmin, will not ever be going anywhere else.

Ordered a takeaway this evening and choose this restaurant based on the comments on trip advisor.Ordered the food and arrived in 35 minutes so a great start. All the food was very very good, tasty and flavoursome.All the food was piping hot still and looked extremely fresh.Thanks to all the previous positive reviews for swaying me to this place and will definitely be going back soon

Best indian around! Great flavours and presentation. Chicken is nice and succulent unlike others with harder over cooked chicken. Delivery always within allotted time, can get super busy prime time so order early!

We ordered our second curry from Qmin last night and it was as delicious as the first. We ordered the set menu meal C and it was delicious...there was so much food that it was a real buffet for us and the flavours were fantastic. Ordering this way was such amazing value for money....you wouldn't cook it for that price! The onion bajii was particularly flavoursome. I had the tikka masala which I never order as it can be sickly but not from Qmin, it is perfectly balanced and I look forward to our next curry experience with such an excellent takeaway restaurant!

We have tried various Indian takeaways in the area but always come back to here. The food always arrives in good time and hot. Portions are generous and well cooked and spiced.

We have eaten from here a number of times. Delicious, fresh tasting, not swimming in oil. The dansak is always a perfect balance! Delivery times usually good and always hot!

We decided to stay in, with friends and decided to order a takeaway, how fortunatel to have a fantastic place close by.i ordered a comprehensive meal for 9, we agreed to collect as they though it would be late as staff didn't like to work Neew years Eve. I called half an hour before and they said the fod would be ready by 8.30. it was..We were graced with a few not order extras and it was piping hot and delicious. We will always reccommend Qmin and wil continue to go ourselves.

A very good Indian takeaway, average pricing, nice friendly service, good amount of meat and thick sauces, can be a bit of excess oil/ghee but adds to the flavour for me personally and you can drain it off before hand, over all a good dependable takeaway next to Waitrose and The Spice Boat in Leigh, if you are a curry lover then you need to try it.

Food is fabulous, the boys are lovely, we could never go to any other Indian takeaway now without being disappointed, the food is alway amazing!

Have been searching for a local Indian Takeaway and when we find one it always seems to deteriorate! Tried this for first time, Quick friendly delivery, food piping hot and well packed with no leakages and scores highly on FSA in all aspects! Hubby always orders Chicken Tikka starter and was very happy. I had Sheek Kebab which was tasty. Fresh salad and tangy mint sauce and gigantic crispy papadums were also good. Hubby had Lamb Bhuna and said "this is real Lamb!" So that must be good! I had Chicken Dhansak which was perfectly spiced for me and I do like it hot! My only slightly negative comment, hence 4 stars was Coconut rice and Peshwari Naan, and Dhansak sauce were overwhelmingly sweet. Now I have to admit I do not have a sweet tooth and rarely eat sugary foods but I often have Dhansak and whilst dish described as Hot, sweet and sour it was for my taste unbalanced. However next time I would choose Pilau rice, plain Naan and perhaps a Jalfrezi. To sum up Hubby very happy and would not want to put anyone off as so many good points but did not quite do it for me!

These guys never fail, best Indian around for a takeaway in the Leigh area love it, would highly recommend, so fresh and the tastes that tingle your tastebuds are amazing

We order curry here at least once a week as it is so amazingly good. We tend to order the specials as they are delicious and really unique dishes I hadn't tried before. The mango delight special is probably my favourite one but all of them are amazing

We've been using this take away for years and there is nowhere else in the area that comes close... Great service, great food and great value. I always ask why they don't open a sit down restaurant but then again what they are doing is working and working very well!

We have been using Qmin since opening and always is hot and tasty highly reccommend. Shame it is just a takeaway. Collection is better due to their popularity.
