This is an amazing coffee shop in Dorking - the best bit is that they offer an incredible Gluten Free menu of cakes that taste awesome. I tried the taster mini gluten free cupcakes and loved the cherry and coconut and chocolate with salted caramel. Unlike some gluten free cakes these were sumptous, light and fluffy and you would not have known they were gluten free. They are made by the award winning cake maker who co -owns this coffee shop. They offer so many different options for anyone with allergies to gluten, soya and lactose. I will be visiting again to try some more delicious cakes.

Discovering this place is a dream come true! As someone who is gluten-free, it is often very hard to find anywhere that has cake that I can eat. This place delivers in trumps! There are so many flavours to choose from, and every single one is delicious and moist. Would highly, highly recommend!

With two coeliac children we can struggle to find variety and choice when we eat out. Imagine how amazed we were to discover at Putty Cakes that all the sandwiches on the menu were available gluten free and with a choice of gluten free breads/baguettes! The star of the show were the cakes. Not just a choice between a brownie and a biscuit, we were offered 5 different gluten free cakes. Not only that but there was a cake tasting menu that had even more gluten free cakes in it. My children were delighted, especially my son who had the tasting menu. Winner of the day was definitely the lemon Victoria sponge but it was a hotly contested race. The lemon Victoria sponge was moist and light with a lovely lemon curd through the centre. It was closely followed by the banana and pecan cake, the dark cherry and almond cake, coffee and walnut cake. Not forgetting the Victoria sponge. There were still some gluten free options we didn't get to try! My husband was also spoilt for choice with his gluten lunch, but you really wouldn't notice that the cakes were gluten free. They were simply delicious. I'm not even going to mention the secret garden at the back with the fig tree that made it feel like we are on holiday soaking up the sun and ambiance. Lunch was the highlight of our day, we will definitely be back. They chef and his wife were warm and welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about coeliacs disease, so we knew we were in safe hands.

Heya. In order to save me time I came here afterwards. We were in Dorking for a day out. After a leisurely pub meal and a look at two antique stores we came in here for a quick snack. The range of cakes are amazing. I will definitely return. Five out of five stars. Recommended if you need a snack and are in the area as well. It was worth the money. Thank you so much.

Putty Cakes was amazing today, they were so kind and let us use their cafe to film a promotion clip for the charity Be Me Project, they were so helpful. Our lunch was SO good, plus they had gluten and dairy free options. Such a great place and so hospitable.

Gavin made us a beautiful 3 tier wedding cake for our autumn wedding. The cake was yummy - chocolate, vanilla and carrot cake! It all got eaten on the night and several guests commented on how good it was. The cake had handmade edible flowers which matched my bouquet and colour scheme perfectly. Gavin also included a small icing electric guitar on the top of the cake to keep my husband happy! He captured my vision perfectly and it was gorgeous! He delivered the cake to the venue on the morning of the wedding. Thank you Gav - I highly recommend Gavin for any wedding cake! I have also been to their coffee shop several times for cake and lunch which is also brilliant! Gavin makes all the cakes himself at the shop so the smell is always amazing! Definitely worth a visit :)

Conservatory room where I sat lovely and light and airy. Enjoyed the black decaff coffee and rosemary sweet potato soup, just what I fancied! You can watch the award-winning baker do his work behind a screen, and he's happy to chat 😁. Lots of choice for gluten- free and dairy-free (really light bread I enjoyed with my soup 😁)

Overall enjoyed a trip to this tea shop but mainly due to the lovely cake. We also had filled baguettes, but they were just half a baguette each and quite small. Would go back but only for a cake and a drink.

Very friendly, family run, all things cake, shop. Offering a plethora of cakes, delicious sandwiches, excellent tea and coffee. Dietary requirements catered for. My friend is gluten free and she is spoilt for choice, we’ve been several times and the standard is always excellent. Not sure enough people realise that behind the displays of amazing made to order celebration cakes and cake making paraphernalia hides a cafe serving delicious light lunches, cakes ( obviously) and quality tea and coffee. We have so many coffee shops in Dorking, but there is definitely room for this fairly new kid on the block .

Superb cakes with morning tea and coffee in a delightfully quaint outdoor shady garden taking advantage of our first real sunshine if the year. There is also good indoor space available in which to enjoy the amazing cakes created by award winning chef Gavin. I will be checking out their lunch menu too before long.

What a busy oasis in the village. We were just ahead of the lunchtime rush and very soon all tables were full. We both chose salads, mine was the daily special, bacon and avo. Hearty and delicious. We were tempted with sharing a cake or cookie afterwards but the portions are so generous, we resisted!

My go to in Dorking, food is consistently good. Always have a good menu which changes with the seasons. The mushroom shawarma pictured is one of the best i think they have done. Coffee is also very good. But its the staff who make this place, always very nice, smiley and chatty.

I have been going to The Pod at least a few times a month for about 2 years now. Tom is a great guy who cares about his business and his regular customers a lot. It is very conveniently located in the Regent Park business park in Leatherhead. The hot chocolates, bacon rolls and chorizo melts are divine. Prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Small and really friendly, it has a home made feel but the food is anything but home made - amazing quality, some of the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Proper high level fancy restaurant stuff We’ll be back with the kids next month
