Puss in Boots in Stockport

Was really disappointed about our lunch. We arrived and it was busy due to a funeral so expected a delay. We ordered cheese pie and Chicken BLT. When the Chicken BLT came out it was halloumi sandwich. The nice waitress noticed it was wrong straight away so took it back. She did apologise. It took about 10 mins for new sandwich to arrive by the time I had ate by pie which was okish. The whole sandwich was not right break sloppie and the chips we think had been recooked. We then noticed on the sandwich the chilli sauce from the wrong meal so looks like nothing was really change but the chicken. We did say we were not happy and they did not charge for the sandwich but we were really disappointed thay this could have happened. We maybe wrong but we don't think so. Staff and atmosphere always great

An absolutely lovely carvery. High quality food, cooked to perfection, amazing service. Will be back for another meal soon.

We go as a family every few months for the pub quiz on a Thursday. Last night we were served by Logan. His service was brilliant! What a lovely young man, very helpful and welcoming. He went above and beyond. The food was lovely as always. We had an enjoyable evening.

The food is always amazing everytime we come here, couldn't fault anything about it and our server Jess was very attentive and friendly!!

The Puss in Boots is part of the Almond Family Pubs Group and is situated in the middle of a housing estate in Heaviley. There is a large car park with plenty of spaces. The pub was clean, warm and very well presented. There were plenty of staff and the service was very good. The food menu appears to be identical to the other pubs in the Almond Family Group and is varied and includes the popular option of a carvery. The food was presented and cooked to a very good standard. There is an outdoor seating area as well as lots of covers inside the pub. A 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill but this can be removed if you so wish. In my experience the service from Molly was very good and the additional 10% was well deserved. If you are in the area I would recommend a visit.

Unfortunately this time the food wasn't good and it was so loud you couldn't hear eachother talking. Also food on the floor needed sweeping.

Had our annual Christmas meet here with 9 family members. We were squeezed on to a table that was far too small for a party of 9, was fairly busy but that’s no excuse. Christmas carvery was really good, hot and tasty. Desserts came cold and had to be sent back (one of them twice). Staff were polite and helpful but seemed rushed snd a little stressed. Wouldn’t rush to return in all honesty.

We had our Christmas meal today 09 /12/24. Party of 17. Food was fabulous,staff were polite friendly,and service was excellent. Would highly recommend 100%. Thank you to all.

Unfortunately this pub is still unwilling to let customers see the price of drinks before they order them. The pub has a price list A4 size in a very small font displayed at a distance where customers can't possibly read it. To make it worse its obscured behind the spirit bottles and optics. This has been the case since the pub first opened. I wonder if they do this at all their establishments. I wonder why they go to so much trouble to hide their beer spirit and soft drinks prices? I think it is the most expensive pub in Stockport for drinks.

4 of us went for a cavery on a Sunday and it was absolutely delicious. Between us we had one of each meat and all agreed it was prefect. All the potatoes and veg were fresh and cooked perfectly as well, we even had a dessert after with was also yummy. Service was great to so all around 10/10!

Never been here before but had heard it was ok for a carvery so thought we would try it. The place was busy and admitting many were eating We chose to have the carvery and think we made the wrong choice… The huge, very tasty looking Yorkshire pudding was chewy, very chewy, the beef which looked perfectly cooked and was plentiful was almost as chewy as the Yorkshire, both of which went on a side plate on the table, the roast parsnips were rock hard and none of the veg although some were quite tasty, none of them were more than ‘barely warm’. Maybe we picked a wrong time of day or even a bad day but for £55 for 3 of us we won’t risk going again, have definatejy had better in Stockport

Lovely pub , lots of tables and seating. Big outside area too. Staff very polite. Food was lovely and well cooked. Quite noisy but was very busy to be fair. Reasonably priced. Never feel rushed. Very attentive staff.

What a let-down !! Was really looking forward to a birthday meal but sadly it wasn't good. We booked a table - it wasn't ready when we got there. The table was sticky. The meals were awful. I ordered the fish pie, after it's wonderful description on the menu. The sauce it was in was very gloopy, not a lot of fish going on (only one and a half prawns in there) and the pieces of fish were about 1cm cubes and most of those were dried out. Another of the meals was the Chicken skewer which had three, not very big pieces of very dry chicken on with also very dry vegetables. No-one from our party of five enjoyed their meal. It was a waste of £80+

Been here a few times never had anything bad to say today however I think I won't be visiting this establishment again. Went out for Sunday dinner and paid for 4. Food looked great and was enjoying it until my 11 year old brother bit his Yorkshire pudding and it had a full sheet of plastic that had been cooked inside with it. No idea how it happened or how it had been missed but suffice to say everyone was put off. No one continued and I'm quite ill as a result I took mine home only to revisit it all bit later. The meal was replaced with no fuss but I think by then everyone had been put off eating. Nothing else was done about it and it was a waste of money and lunch. All around disappointing. Won't be visiting again.

We don't visit that often but every time we do it has been fantastic. The last time we were only going to have a drink but ended up having many drinks and ordered food as well. The food was delicious, we were sat outside and although it was packed it was nice and peaceful. Our servers were brilliant and couldn't do enough.

My Son treated us to a meal and we decided on a Carvery meal at Puss in Boots.....used to be a regular at the Spread Eagle and Hesketh until it closed also the Fletchers [we had a reception there when my Mother died ]it was amazing no complaints whatsoever.We arrived and were seated quickly asked if ok by a tall extrovert gentlman if all ok..well it was until we went to collect our carvery and he was serving!!!I ordered beef and ham...the beef was a small joint ...the sice he cut was wafer thin then the ham which looked beautiful i was expecting a slice he turned it face downwards and cut a crusty corner off the ham and started to slice it he gave me about4/5 minute paper thin slices!!!I I was so shocked I couldnt believed he had the cheek to serve such a meagre amount of meat!!!with foresight I should have walked away...same for my husband .....the food was good but the portions were appalling. the ham was so thin i could hardly taste it........nothing like picture you have posted...2 slices of meat of good size...I certainly didnt get that!!!!Then to top it all a service charge???hello We served ourselves!!!I knocked it off and gave the waitress who served our drinks a good tip.never again.....ps I am not serial complainer but for what we paid i felt cheated.....so disappointed.PS I think its quite insulting to serve spraps of meat when your picture clearly has two good slices of meat!!!pps with foresight i should have photographed it!!

Amazing place indoor and outdoor. It has a bar area and a restaurant area. The staff was incredibly nice and the food was actually great (I’m Italian 😅). The staff had to bare with us since we were in 15 and we like to have a “late” dinner at 8:30pm. I highly recommend this place to anyone that goes to Stockport.

My boyfriend and I visited here for my birthday 🎂 The venue was spotlessly clean, well presented, and the staff were amazing. The food choices catered for everyone and were good-sized portions and excellent value for money. The staff were all lovely. Sarah, the manager, was so happy and pleasant and clearly proud of her staff. Nick greeted us warmly and shook our hands when we said how fantastic the establishment was. We had the loveliest waitress,Alice, who was attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu options, and so incredibly polite and friendly. She was a credit to your company. My whole birthday night was romantic and in a word perfect. Can't recommend this establishment enough.

Having been here numerous times I felt it only right that I finally leave a review. The carvery is of a higher quality than any other around, the food ordered from the menu is always fresh & delicious. Staff are friendly & helpful even when rushed off their feet. This is favourite of all the family. The only negative I have to say is that you will need to book a table in advance for any special occasions eg Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc as they book up fast.

We have been to the Puss-in-Boots, both times we have gone for the carvery they do the traditional meats Beef, Turkey, and Gammon, they also do non standard roast currently Ho Sin pork. The Ho Sin is good enough to be in a Chinese restaurant. The normal roasts are well done too, and the carver is good and ensures you get a nice meat not a plate of fat. One of the best parts of this carvery is there are lots of vegetables in small containers which are changed regularly so always fresh. The grave and sauce are well laid out.

I have never walked into anywhere where I have been welcomed as much as I did today. Then the journey continued beyond our expectation. Big shout out to leah and Marc for making us feel so welcome. Winsford (cheshire) is crying out for a puss in boots. Thank you for an amazing dining experience

9 of us went for Christmas Dinner at the Puss in Boots we were greeted by Nick and Sarah they were both as great and pleasant as ever really making us feel at home. Whenever we go here everybody are great with us we wouldn’t dream of going any where else. They have loads of patience with the kiddy’s . The staff that wait on us are really pleasent and look after our every need. The food is excellent and atmosphere great. On the way out guess who’s there to say goodbye and wish us a Merry Christmas Sarah and Nick still smiling on what must be a stressful day for them working to make sure we were all looked after. Highly recommend.

Went in with a large group for a Xmas meal & everything was great, food lovely , staff are always really nice , attentive & go that extra mile. We had a couple of the ladies birthdays so had a cake with candles that the staff arranged for us . The cosy venue it’s very welcoming & the extra touch of blankets is such a nice thing . I’ve been going here for years but never tried the festive menu, I was not disappointed. After being let down from our usual festive spot we booked in last minute. Everything was spot on. I tried the lamb shank with the carvery veg which was cooked to perfection and ended strong with the cheesecake. Sarah and Shannon couldn’t have done more for us all. Thank you for a great time.

Went here last night and we are regulars. Very dissapointing, the service was terrible and it was not that busy. 45 minutes before we got menus then they didn't bring Christmas menu had to ask. The veg on the carvery was lukewarm at best, it took ages before any plates were cleared from the table and then they only cleared half of them. Had to ask for desert menu again plates were not cleared in a timely fashion. This place is really starting to lose its finess and over priced for what you get no longer value for money.Cold veg and bad service

The pub was very busy when we visited (Christmas dos) but staff were thin on the ground. Marietta (?) did her very best to attend to everyone as quickly as possible but it was hard for her. The three stars are all for her. Most of us had carvery. My friend and I always have a mix of beef and ham but there was only a small, dry, gristly end piece of beef left. We asked the carver if he had any fresh beef. He said he had but we couldn’t have it till the current piece was finished! How does that work then? We certainly weren’t going to be palmed off with dried up joint ends! Nor, I suspect, would any other customer want to be. So I just had the ham which was a bit dry and definitely tough. Not the succulent meat I’d expect from a classy carvery. To make matters worse, everything was luke warm to the level where we wondered if the hot plates were working. I know it’s the busy season but, come on - you can still cook and serve decent meat and keep the food and plates hot. Disappointing. Very. I did mention this to Marietta as we left but it’s not her fault.

Love this pub/ restaurant! The ambience is warm and friendly, the staff are lovely , the food is great! We all had a lovely meal there yesterday ( December 9th) . All of us enjoyed our meal and our waitress Jolie was a lovely girl , as was the assistant manager and the lad who served us at the carvery . Would definitely recommend

This is a really nice, well run pub. The decor and furniture is modern yet relaxing, the staff are all very very friendly and professional and the food was great! We opted for the carvery which was delicious- the meats were cooked to perfection, veg was lovely. Although I must say the roast potatoes were slightly anaemic and the gravy was a bit bland. But aside from that this pub is totally worth a visit, would recommend 100%

We visited the puss in boots last Tuesday with our school. We were met by Nick & Leah with a warm welcome and taken to our pre-booked area. Leah was incredible with attending to ours and the children’s needs and even brought us complimentary water jugs (it was needed!!). I can’t thanks Leah & Nick enough for their service on this day.
