A lovely local pub, fantastic in the summer and the winter. There is loads of outdoor space, and in the winter they have heaters. They are do friendly and have a massive selection of drinks to suit everyone.

Sunday Roast was poor value for money and all meals ordered were like warm, hence no star rating for food. Very disappointed

Hate leaving bad review. But after directly speaking to the manager and basically disregarded apart from a free drink. Which after 2 hours of waiting around we honestly just wanted to leave and declined. Been to this pub many times as a family for drinks never eaten but always looked and smelt good. So when my daughter asked can she go for her 13th birthday instantly said yes. We booked a table party of 10. Ordered 3 starters took 25 mins and was over cooked but cold. Then when the main came 2 out of 5 dishes came out again leaving a 10/15 minutes wait for the next 3 dishes. I ordered the Sunday lunch with unlimited gravy and Yorkshire puddings. I did ask for more gravy as there was minimal, at that time he asked if anyone wants more Yorkshire puddings order now as they take 15minutes....what's the point of offering unlimited if you have to wait, and more to the point I even waited for gravy... All in all food very disappointing not very warm and felt like it was cooked earlier then microwaved. Finally as it was my daughter's birthday we brought cake asked for them to bring it out with desert, desert came no cake went to ask apparently they didn't know about it waited another 10 mins or so finally came no plates etc. Absolutely shocking you only turn 13 once and my daughter put on a brave face but I could see that she was upset. I don't expect anything back. But to at least acknowledge my daughter and make abit of a fuss of her would of gone a long way but nothing. So disappointed

All in all, it's a great venue, lovely atmosphere and the food is of a really good standard. Costs are typical of this type of pub, but I love the decor and ambiance of the place. Outside is well lit up with fairy lights and has good heaters which help during winter months. This is one of my favourite pubs in a lovely area.

Beer has never been great in here, so rarely came at night, but would come on a weekday occasionally for an hour and do some emails on laptop. However, wifi is now indescribably bad/slow, so can't do that anymore.

Called in tonight with poppy the dog have to say Shane is top man very welcoming he's good with his staff great with customers

Just enjoyed a lovely meal with great service from very friendly staff. Atmosphere mostly great. Large TV recently installed is a bit of a distraction. Would have preferred it to have been turned off. Overall well worth a visit

Absolutely lovely time out and excellent dining experience. Great plate to grab a bite and a pint. Shane the waiter/server/bar man/whatever else he does, because he was everywhere, was amazing. Really lovely guy and deserves a raise. He was great! Can't stress it enough. Portortion sizes were a little small for the small plates but other than that it was excellent.

We enjoy coming to the Liz. We had lovely food in a beautifully decorated pub. Shane who served us was funny and took care of us. Definitely made our experience better. we will be back very soon

Sunday roast took around 50 minutes. People who ordered the same as me, after me came 20 minutes before mine. I don’t think I would have had food if I didn’t ask. Beef overcooked. Lager selection average at best.

The team were fantastic, we came for the Sunday roast as our friends had come and said how brilliant it was. In hindsight I should have booked as it was so busy. But the manager just ran around and sorted us out! Marie I think her name was, I am sorry if that's wrong. To our surprise there was live music on! How amazing was that! We stayed and had some drinks after what I can only describe as the best Sunday Roast we have had in forever. Just an amazing Bank Holiday Sunday. Well done the LIZ!

The place lives from the location, the beautiful architecture and the very well-kept interior. The food is good, but only four stars here because we expected more. Whispering teenagers taking the order? My God, a little empathy is part of it. The place is okay. At least for once.

I chose the Duck Spring Rolls with plum dipping sauce and carrot, cucumber & sesame seed salad. The Spring Rolls were just thick deep fried and overcooked with what I could only describe as not Duck inside The salad was limp with no Carrott or sesame seeds whatsoever. Very disappointed for £8.45 . Shame

Service was great ... And The Pub is so lovely however the food was not so good. We had the small platters around 9.00 each... ordered the chicken stripes... but they were tiny tiny little bits .. hardly tasted the chicken for the batter on 2 lettuce leaves. Also the Duck Rolls... Too much thick batter & didn't taste so good. Expected better for the price... bit we had a nice afternoon otherwise

Had a small starter, £8.45. Ordered Duck Spring Rolls with a Carrott and sesame salad. The Spring Rolls were over cooked and pure batter and did not taste of Duck. The salad was limp with no Carrots and no sesame. Very disappointed.

Service great... food not so great... Had Small platters... Chicken Strips... Tiny Bits of batter with er Chicken Inside on a bed of lettuce... around £9.00 ... I expected larger strips ... The Duck Spring roll was tasteless... so much batter again.... disappointed for the price. ...

Really disappointed with the food today had different meals to eachother but unfortunately no one enjoyed there meal . It's a lovely pub , lots of tables , it's big and plenty of seating inside and outside. Polite staff. Just disappointed with the food today.

Recently enjoyed a lovely lunch (Gammon steak + pineapple) here with my mum. Great food - can certainly recommend the Raspberry Ripple Arctic Slice for dessert! Very nice table by the doors opened onto the outside eating area - our waitress, Jo, was very pleasant and helpful. A totally wonderful lunchtime experience 😀

Mostly a pleasant time. The booze and the atmosphere is good. Avoid the food; over rated and over priced.

I watched the England final for the euros and had an amazing experience. The staff were very accommodating and the food was 100% a 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a decent atmosphere, food and service!

What a lovely place! Came here for lunch with family on a Sunday. Plenty of room to sit either outside at shaded tables or inside in the pleasant interior. Great choice on the menu and everyone agreed their meal was very tasty. Generous portions and reasonable price. Already planning a return trip.

Food was not what I expected,not very good,potatoes where obviously reheated and greasy the rest was really bland, my friends also left most of their meal, wouldn't rate the food.

Terrible service. Asked for a dog bowl and didn’t get. My meal was left off my order although I distinctly asked for two of the same food. Then came late when my daughters had finished. Guy who we presumed could be the manager strolling outside constantly to vape and not showing an interest in what was happening inside. Will definitely not be going again. One to miss.

We had the sharing platter Sunday Lunch. The meats of Beef, Turkey and Ham were delicious as were the vegetables. Would have liked a few more potatoes. The staff were brilliant especially our waitress. We will be back soon.

Nice place very busy food ok beer good choice bit expensive but it's heaton so expect that service ok ish lot of young kids not very well trained but that's not there fault overall worth a visit

Nice pub grub. Nothing special food wise but nicely presented and not pricey. Staff were very friendly and professional, and the service was quick. We were lucky enough to be sat near the legendary Manny from the Stone Roses (we admired from afar).

Had two roast beef dinners as no option for turkey or chicken. Just pork or ham. The beef was full of fat and pink not to my liking and was not from a joint, looked like packet beef only two roast potatoes no stuffing or parsnip. Luke warm, did tell the staff only to apologise and ask if we wanted the desert menu. 41.40 with two drinks. More like a child's roast dinner. Very poor on this visit.

Over rated and disappointing. Burnt club sandwich, hardly any fish in fish finger bap (all batter), very chewy steak in steak ciabatta. No hoisin sauce in duck wrap. Felt we all left disappointed. Also coffee Luke warm

We thoroughly enjoy eating at all other JW Lees locations in the area. Typically mid-afternoon during the week. The service is the one thing that differentiates the Elizabethan from the remaining locations. Here it is consistently flaccid / ditzy / scatterbrained. JW Lees needs to establish measurables and implement an improvement plan for the Elizabethan's service. It is typical to be served by three different people and kept waiting. There is no professional approach. All so very different in other JW Lees locations. The one good thing is that I have no qualms about not leaving a tip.

We had lunch in this lovely little pub last week. The staff were delightful. Our server was bale to memorise the complete order of our table and the chef did not disappoint in anyway.

Our Christmas lunch was disappointing starters prawns tasteless only small amount roast potatoes and vegetables food was cold and poor presentation I have eaten here before and never had any problems with food will not ever book for our Christmas meal again

Disappointing festive meal with so many items not available. We booked and paid a Deposit. They knew we were coming! We asked if we needed to pre order food and were told no. So disappointing to turn up and told only 3 turkey dinners left, no cheeseboard etc amongst other missing items. The food we ate was nice and the staff were verg apologetic and kind. But would not return.

Had a festive lunch with family and friends today The food, service and ambiance was superb. Our server Josh was so nice Josh simply could not do enough for us. We really had a lovely gathering today Josh made our pre festive gathering.

What an excellent festive meal eight of us had tonight All had three courses and not one complaint All food when should have been hot was and the portions were brilliant The service by Eleanor was excellent, didn’t have to wait for anything and dishes cleared on time, again not one complaint Thanks team for a lovely get together

Lilja is such a good bar person. Always puts a really good shamrock on my Guinness and servs it well.

Booked for 4:30 today, first meal out with the family we have had in months. Finished work early to get in on time. Arrived, seated, 45 minutes after we had our drinks, we had to ask a member of staff serving the table next to us that arrived after us whether we could order. Once the food arrived, a different girl brought this, just as I was about to ask for mayo she had disappeared and was talking at the podium with another staff member. All the time we were then eating, the next table from a different server was asking if the food was ok etc, we didn’t receive this service. Not asked once if we would like any drinks after the first initial. The food itself though was good. Dessert time- no menus, we all wanted a dessert, in the end we just asked for the bill. Was all really disappointing, you just see staff chatting to each other at least near our table, yet every 2 minutes someone going to the other table, asking if they would like another drink etc. So put off now with the Liz as I was really looking forward to that.

Great service as usual but especially fantastic service from Josh, he was attentive and helpful the whole evening. Lovely evening spent here.
