The team were fantastic, we came for the Sunday roast as our friends had come and said how brilliant it was. In hindsight I should have booked as it was so busy. But the manager just ran around and sorted us out! Marie I think her name was, I am sorry if that's wrong. To our surprise there was live music on! How amazing was that! We stayed and had some drinks after what I can only describe as the best Sunday Roast we have had in forever. Just an amazing Bank Holiday Sunday. Well done the LIZ!

Food was poor. 2 had steaks and were disappointed.

Lauren who served us at the bar and took the orders is can absolute star . Nothing was too much trouble. and all the staff made sure dad's first outing in weeks after a hospital stay was truly amazing.THANK YOU so much it's been a wonderful experience

Had a small starter, £8.45. Ordered Duck Spring Rolls with a Carrott and sesame salad. The Spring Rolls were over cooked and pure batter and did not taste of Duck. The salad was limp with no Carrots and no sesame. Very disappointed.

I chose the Duck Spring Rolls with plum dipping sauce and carrot, cucumber & sesame seed salad. The Spring Rolls were just thick deep fried and overcooked with what I could only describe as not Duck inside The salad was limp with no Carrott or sesame seeds whatsoever. Very disappointed for £8.45 . Shame

Service great... food not so great... Had Small platters... Chicken Strips... Tiny Bits of batter with er Chicken Inside on a bed of lettuce... around £9.00 ... I expected larger strips ... The Duck Spring roll was tasteless... so much batter again.... disappointed for the price. ...

Service was great ... And The Pub is so lovely however the food was not so good. We had the small platters around 9.00 each... ordered the chicken stripes... but they were tiny tiny little bits .. hardly tasted the chicken for the batter on 2 lettuce leaves. Also the Duck Rolls... Too much thick batter & didn't taste so good. Expected better for the price... bit we had a nice afternoon otherwise

Really disappointed with the food today had different meals to eachother but unfortunately no one enjoyed there meal . It's a lovely pub , lots of tables , it's big and plenty of seating inside and outside. Polite staff. Just disappointed with the food today.

Recently enjoyed a lovely lunch (Gammon steak + pineapple) here with my mum. Great food - can certainly recommend the Raspberry Ripple Arctic Slice for dessert! Very nice table by the doors opened onto the outside eating area - our waitress, Jo, was very pleasant and helpful. A totally wonderful lunchtime experience 😀

Mostly a pleasant time. The booze and the atmosphere is good. Avoid the food; over rated and over priced.

I watched the England final for the euros and had an amazing experience. The staff were very accommodating and the food was 100% a 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a decent atmosphere, food and service!

Beautiful food and surroundings

What a lovely place! Came here for lunch with family on a Sunday. Plenty of room to sit either outside at shaded tables or inside in the pleasant interior. Great choice on the menu and everyone agreed their meal was very tasty. Generous portions and reasonable price. Already planning a return trip.

Food was not what I expected,not very good,potatoes where obviously reheated and greasy the rest was really bland, my friends also left most of their meal, wouldn't rate the food.

A lovely venue with very attentive staff, a must visit.

Terrible service. Asked for a dog bowl and didn’t get. My meal was left off my order although I distinctly asked for two of the same food. Then came late when my daughters had finished. Guy who we presumed could be the manager strolling outside constantly to vape and not showing an interest in what was happening inside. Will definitely not be going again. One to miss.

We had the sharing platter Sunday Lunch. The meats of Beef, Turkey and Ham were delicious as were the vegetables. Would have liked a few more potatoes. The staff were brilliant especially our waitress. We will be back soon.

Nice place very busy food ok beer good choice bit expensive but it's heaton so expect that service ok ish lot of young kids not very well trained but that's not there fault overall worth a visit

Nice pub grub. Nothing special food wise but nicely presented and not pricey. Staff were very friendly and professional, and the service was quick. We were lucky enough to be sat near the legendary Manny from the Stone Roses (we admired from afar).

Over rated and disappointing. Burnt club sandwich, hardly any fish in fish finger bap (all batter), very chewy steak in steak ciabatta. No hoisin sauce in duck wrap. Felt we all left disappointed. Also coffee Luke warm

Had two roast beef dinners as no option for turkey or chicken. Just pork or ham. The beef was full of fat and pink not to my liking and was not from a joint, looked like packet beef only two roast potatoes no stuffing or parsnip. Luke warm, did tell the staff only to apologise and ask if we wanted the desert menu. 41.40 with two drinks. More like a child's roast dinner. Very poor on this visit.

We thoroughly enjoy eating at all other JW Lees locations in the area. Typically mid-afternoon during the week. The service is the one thing that differentiates the Elizabethan from the remaining locations. Here it is consistently flaccid / ditzy / scatterbrained. JW Lees needs to establish measurables and implement an improvement plan for the Elizabethan's service. It is typical to be served by three different people and kept waiting. There is no professional approach. All so very different in other JW Lees locations. The one good thing is that I have no qualms about not leaving a tip.

We had lunch in this lovely little pub last week. The staff were delightful. Our server was bale to memorise the complete order of our table and the chef did not disappoint in anyway.

Our Christmas lunch was disappointing starters prawns tasteless only small amount roast potatoes and vegetables food was cold and poor presentation I have eaten here before and never had any problems with food will not ever book for our Christmas meal again

Disappointing festive meal with so many items not available. We booked and paid a Deposit. They knew we were coming! We asked if we needed to pre order food and were told no. So disappointing to turn up and told only 3 turkey dinners left, no cheeseboard etc amongst other missing items. The food we ate was nice and the staff were verg apologetic and kind. But would not return.

I return home back to the area for a pre Christmas meal with the family ,always choosing a venue in Heaton Moor where I used to live, The service was 5 star our server was Josh,Nothing was too much trouble for this young person, The food quality was fresh and tasty a really beautiful Christmas Dinner ,being close to Christmas it was a lovely atmosphere in the pub ,well done Elizabethan ✔️

Had a festive lunch with family and friends today The food, service and ambiance was superb. Our server Josh was so nice Josh simply could not do enough for us. We really had a lovely gathering today Josh made our pre festive gathering.

Lilja is such a good bar person. Always puts a really good shamrock on my Guinness and servs it well.

Booked for 4:30 today, first meal out with the family we have had in months. Finished work early to get in on time. Arrived, seated, 45 minutes after we had our drinks, we had to ask a member of staff serving the table next to us that arrived after us whether we could order. Once the food arrived, a different girl brought this, just as I was about to ask for mayo she had disappeared and was talking at the podium with another staff member. All the time we were then eating, the next table from a different server was asking if the food was ok etc, we didn’t receive this service. Not asked once if we would like any drinks after the first initial. The food itself though was good. Dessert time- no menus, we all wanted a dessert, in the end we just asked for the bill. Was all really disappointing, you just see staff chatting to each other at least near our table, yet every 2 minutes someone going to the other table, asking if they would like another drink etc. So put off now with the Liz as I was really looking forward to that.

Great service as usual but especially fantastic service from Josh, he was attentive and helpful the whole evening. Lovely evening spent here.

Bar staff have improved and quick service

Great place to have drinks, snacks and food. Indoor and outdoor space.

We visited last night for dinner, I ordered the fresh cod in beer batter, when it came it was far from fresh, it looked like it had freezer burn , the batter was doughy and soggy inside and it didn't smell good so I sent it back and chose the Greek style flat bread with chicken, salad, feta , topped with pomegranate? No pomegranate, no resemblances to Greek food at all. My previous visit here for foodcwas a couple of months ago, I ordered the advertised fillet steak and fat chips. The steak was good, the chips were cheap frozen scraps and several were grey. I obviously complained about these and they deducted them from the bill. My point here is....if you advertise your menu as fresh beer battered cod, it cannot be frozen. If you advertise fat chips with fillet steak at £23.00 customers expect fresh fat chips, simple, if you can't serve it don't advertise it.

Booked a group booking a few weeks ago for the beginning of December & suddenly now now it’s closer they can’t accommodate. Poor service!

Really disappointing Sunday roasts. Took my Mum for a meal her beef was chewy, and most of the food was cold. Didn't look very nicely presented either. My veggie roast was boring and tasteless. Veg were cold and undercooked. Plates were cold and the restaurant was cold which is maybe why the food went cold. Lacked any warm, friendly atmosphere. Won't be in any hurry to return. I can do a better roast myself for half the price.

This is already a very popular pub. It's very well run and has some of the JW Lee's cask range on sale. The quality of this beer range worries me slightly at time of visit one pump clip was turned around & the mpb was not at it's best. The bitter was fine but not first time beer options variable! That aside the bar is well stocked & very busy. I have to say that the staff work really hard & in particular one of the bar staff was so helpful when I visited with a friend in a wheelchair, an absolute credit to the business & thank you.

I visited one of your establishments today and have been left in absolute disbelief at the shocking level of customer service and the poor quality of the food provided. The bar was empty when myself and wife entered at approximately 3pm and there was 3 bar staff just having a friendly laugh and joke about the night before. It still took at least 5 minutes for someone to come over and ask if we were being served to order a drink before deciding on food to order for lunch. We ordered 2 drinks and picked up a menu and then found a table to sit down. We ordered the Sunday roast sharing platter which was served surprisingly fast which was good as we’d spent the morning out walking and were famished. The speed of the food however was the only good part of our experience. The Yorkshire pudding was massively overcooked and like a block of polystyrene and the broccoli and cauliflower felt like it had just be taken out of the freezer hence we didn’t even try to eat it. The meat was very fatty and also cold. Having only ate a few bites of it I went to the bar and informed them of the quality of the meal and asked to speak with the manager. The young girl behind the bar was very apologetic and promptly fetched him from the kitchen. The manager looked like he was barely out of school and spoke to me in a very condescending manner with a smirk on his face. I feel extremely let down as a close resident and frequent visitor to the pub and this is the e first time that I have had such a bad experience. I was then offered complimentary deserts and coffee to which we declined. With this in mind I was shocked with the offer of £5 off the meal price because he agreed the food wasn’t up to standard which was later upped to £7 and said that he’d be having a chat with the kitchen staff to hopefully rectify the poor cooking skills for other customers. I very reluctantly paid the bill and left the pub in disgust and called at McDonald’s on our way home which was a fraction of the price and a lot tastier. It’s a real shame that such a great pub has come to a point of such poor customer service and low quality food in such an affluent area where we live and will not be recommending it to anyone in future with how badly we were treated

Came in today for my Dads 82nd Birthday. Excellent service from Josh and the serving staff. Hats off to Danny in the kitchen for the beautiful roast dinners.Really top drawer! Cheesecake,Coffee and Creme brulee went down very well too. My Dad is in a wheelchair and the facilities were ideal I must add. Thanks much again everyone 😁👍!

Everthing spot on food and servivce, on numerous ocassions

Came here on a Friday night. Venue was extremely busy how we service was attentive and friendly. Ordered a variety of dishes, food was quick and very tasty. Would recommend the Cajun chicken burger and the cheese and onion pie. A nice ambience to the place, would definitely recommend .

Its a lovely place really caring staff you get a lovely refreshing pint lovely place for family friends to go to. There was 6 of us we only had a drink this time.

If you’re gonna be pretentious and overpriced you can’t also be a subpar pub in the middle of Stockport with rude bouncers and bar staff. Food’s rubbish too.

Did not even acknowledge me as a waiting customer even though they looked at me. Shame

A wonderful pub with a beautiful garden. Unfortunately, it serves standard pub food. All it needs is a push for quality homemade fresh food with a better menu.

I've been coming here for years but things have slipped this past twelve months. The standard of the cask Lee's bitter and MPA just isn't as good as it used to be. So, I had a pint of San Miguel...or, at least, it was supposed to be a pint. It came with a head that started a good inch below the glass brim. I asked for a top up but was told this was a "measured pint"! (Errrrm...I don't think so...unless they've reintroduced the old style glass that had the line pint mark in it) Anyway, the food is still OK.

Excellent service as always but especially from Keely, Joanne, Hazel and Troy. Always get a very warm welcome from Dean, Charlene and all the staff. Thanks to Dan and his team for the excellent food served.

Food was tasteless, I ordered the chicken burger which had little to no taste and came on a soggy bun, the staff stated that this was juices from the chicken, however the juices from the chicken could be seen the bun was clear underneath but soggy like it had been sat in a puddle of water, no apologies given and manager stated that's how it is and nothing would be done about it My friend ordered the chicken flat bread which did not have much on it besides chicken, there were about 4 pomegranate seed and 2 pieces of feta cheese, hardly any salad We had a sharer of flat breads and dips, there were 4 slithers of flat bread and the houmous and aubergine dip tasted of nothing. For the amount it cost it was an absolute disappointment and definitely not a sharer The pub constantly stinks of fish too

Visited last sunday. Staff were lovely. Sunday roast was perfect. Dean the manager was brilliant. He was all over the place making sure everything was running smooth, He was even checking outside tables making sure they were cleared and cleaned. Great place. Well worth a try...

Went to celebrate a friends 70th birthday. What can I say. We were met by The Manager Dean who welcomed us and we were shown to our table by Josh what a gentleman. Straight away Keely the waitress came over and took our drinks order and came back for our food order when we were ready. We both had the Sea Bass it was delicious and plenty to eat. Not at any time were we rushed and the staff made sure we were looked after. I can highly recommend The Elizabethan and I have booked again for our Wedding Anniversary can’t wait

Not been the Elizabehan for years,I had The large fish and chips, it was huge,I couldn't finish it all which is not like me at all. The service was fantastic and very attentive I recommend it.

Really surprised when I arrived as one of the staff opened one of the doors to allow me easier access inside. Really spacious inside. Great food and drinks. Nice wheelchair accessible toilet. First time I've visited but it won't be my last. Staff are really friendly and helpful
