Since Megan has took over this pub it’s been second to none. It’s great crowds, atmosphere and great service. Not just this she’s always thriving to go the next extra mile for her customers and colleagues. This pub is a fantastic addition to the community!

The Gardeners Arms is a good pub for watching sports, but it doesn't serve food. There is a quiz each Sunday evening. There is a free car park, but space is limited. One criticism I do have is that they seem to be short staffed on Saturday afternoons. The last time I went in, there was only 1 staff member serving the entire pub, so there was a long wait to be served. It is also a good pub for groups and general meet-ups.

Not been in here for a long long time,staff were so friendly and didn't have to wait ages to be served, definitely be calling in again..

Great well run clean friendly pub in the heart of the offerton community. The staff work so hard to keep a varied list of entertainment from bingo nights,themed night and work hard to raise funds for their charity ,Macmillan cancer . Over Christmas and various holidays the pub goes all-out to decorate it (well-done to the staff) . Helen ,Megan and Chloe to name a few.

Great hidden little gem. Really nice staff. Lovely atmosphere, pool tables, darts and big screen sports if you want it and a quiet bar if you don't. Spotlessly clean, average prices. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This has been my local for 18 years, a solid pub with a great atmosphere and loyal regulars.

A beautiful pub which was welcoming from walking straight in.lovely staff. It has a lovely old feel with buzzing atmosphere. I would recommend to couples families and friends and will definitely be returning. The decor for Christmas is beautiful and I would urge a visit during the festive season!! Very excited about our return!

Great local pub, with great staff that always go above and beyond. Attended the Halloween party with my little girl where there was so much effort put in and a great way to raise money for charity getting all ages involved.

A pleasant enough place that lets you vape indoors, and serves Guinness

Went to watch the match. first time in here for a long time. Just moved down the road, so now my local. Very pleasant, friendly staff and customers. There are plenty of screens all around, so able to watch wherever you choose to sit. Good pint and staff remembered my choice the second time I was served.

The toilets are a disgrace sadly! It was like walking into a pig farm! Awful! There were young guys in the back room playing pool shouting obscenities at each other at the top of their voices and joking around but making a very uncomfortable atmosphere for others in the pub! They should have been told to quieten down but weren't such a shame.

Great place to watch football, throw a few arrows at the darts board and play the odd game of pool. Always seem to walk out of there a little tipsy

For a small, drinks only pub, there isn’t a better in the area. Been several times and always welcomed with a smile and great service. Customers lovely, clean and tidy and great drinks selection. Sound from the sports area carries through to the lounge but staff control it well and always make sure there is some sound or music on to sit and relax to. All the sport, all the things to make a great local family friendly pub.

Visit this pub weekly and the staff are very friendly and obliging. Nothing is to much trouble. We visit with the dog and he always gets served fresh water.

I would give 10 stars if possible. The manager, Peter Simister is an absolute credit to his parents. His manners are amazing and he makes you feel like a regular no matter if you are by yourself for a pint after work or out with other people for one of their amazing nights. 100% will visit again!

Best pub in offerton. Ellen,Pete and Co are excellent and are making the pub a great place to be. The beer is always good and the choice of ales/bitters Is always changing. The rest of the staff are always pleasant especially Chloe who is always friendly and takes time to talk to myself my wife and the pooch. This pub really brings back the local feel and look forward to going more often

Came to the gardeners for a drink and was impressed by how well they managed to follow all covid procedures and still keep a good pub atmosphere. Pete especially was super attentive and polite

Worse pint I've ever had. Tasted like it had the chemicals used to clean the lines in it. Poor pint of Peroni so not impressed.

Love this pub but, we pop in at weekends regularly and I’m sure they appreciate our visits during this difficult time. Problem is, why are so many tables reserved at weekends? There’s no food! As a paying customer I don’t want to be sat under the bar when there’s plenty tables free elsewhere! Also, it seems regulars don’t have to scan or even sign in:(. We are the third generation of our family to drink here, if that’s to continue for our children then at least treat everyone equally. C’mon Gardeners you can do better!!!

They have a 2 pint glass...! For a few of the beers they serve, anyway. Lasts for a half of a football match. Well it lasted me that long...

From my last rant with Green King I promised to provide further opinions good or bad so here we go ...... Given the Covid 19 conditions I truly believe Ellen at the Gardener’s is doing a great job abiding by the rules and making it safe for myself & friends to meet up for a pint. Hand sanitizers, Vault separated from the Lounge, face masks, one way system around the lounge or vault, no loud music creating shouting, cashless payment where possible, table cleaning after guests leave. what more could we ask for ??? Like many others it is a really difficult time to encourage trade.I book separate tables for us which is no different to us sitting on a table next to a complete stranger – we can still hold a conversation. Ellen came up with a great idea of using car park space to create a false grass area with a gazebo to encourage more outside socialising which is within guidelines only to have the gazebo destroyed by wind and the artificial grass stolen !!!! Great shame.On the other hand a local pub has I believe been holding large groups joining in a Karaoke, singing loud and dancing, no social distancing and although they can offer a one way in and a one way out system they have chosen not to do so ??Ellen - keep up the good work of providing a safe environment and encouraging trade - I wish you well !!!!

Good bar staff creating an easy and pleasant atmosphere ....currently doing their best to implement Corona rules.... go to watch all types of Sport several televisions throughout the two bars .. .definitely worth a visit.

Been in this place a couple of times for the live football. Good location coming up hall Street from Stockport it just past the co-op through the lights on the right hand side. Good ale nice friendly service try it and support your local business.

Myself and my friends come here regularly for a few drinks. We love the friendly atmosphere and the staff are always great! They have been putting entertainment on recently which has added a great touch.

I am pleased to say this pub now appears to be back in safe hands. Ellen has settled in well and I think has been well received by most locals ??? As a customer of 48 years standing I am delighted at this. Hopefully I will be happy to celebrate my 50 years attendance as a customer as a happy customer ???????

I am delighted to say that last week we finally got a new Manager by way of Ellen. Certainly lunchtime visitors are more like a family of friends than clientele and so far Ellen seems to be a friendly, capable & pleasant Manager - I hope for the sake of the pub this continues ?? Thank you Greene King for admitting the ups & downs and hopefully most of the regulars will have ridden the wave on this one ??? I will continue as a customer but will certainly let my views known on future major positive or negative changes !! Here's hoping for better times ?????

Bit too clicky in there for me.. felt like I had 2 heads. Everybody staring at us cos we've never been in there

I visit Gardnrrs Arms about 3 times a week mainly for the friendly and comforting ambiance and service. Pleasant staff, good beer and always clean and presentable. Love it here and will continue coming here as long the standard is maintained.

I have posted a couple of positive reviews on this pub in the past but to be true to TA readers I feel I need to update my views. Although not my local pub this has been my regular for 47 years. I have seen many Managers come & go and unfortunately we lost one of the best a couple of weeks ago by way of Dave. Unfortunately Dave left on health issues and I know he would be disgusted in the way Greene King have controlled (Or not) the pub since he left. The pub is supposed to open at 12 noon. Twice I have been left outside until 26 or 28 mins past 12 for the pub to open. If it wasn't for my years of loyalty I would switch to the Strawberry Gardens or the Fingerpost. Saturday was the final straw. 6 of us stood in poring rain for 28 minutes and still no-one arrived. Pub in darkness and no answer when I tried to ring. I walked away. This is a pub with a very loyal clientele but the way Greene King are messing about it could be one to lose the loyal clientele and be down for closure. Quite often my friend & I are the only ones in the place from 12.00 to 13.30 !! Not as if Dave didn't give notice of his departure and how many weeks do Greene King need to get a replacement ?????? I was hoping to celebrate my 50 years as a customer but it ain't looking good. Get your act together Greene King. The Gardener's has got some excellent staff, Bernie, Jamie (Now resigned) Pete, Chloe etc. but they cannot keep the pub afloat without good management. I didn't bother going today as I didn't know if it would open or not ????

Didn't visit today just drove past but have been there many times friendly pub and meals are good.

I have been to the gardners on many occasions to enjoy a drink with my partner, the pub is always very clean and the staff are some of the best around your always greeted with a smile and are given an excellent service I couldn't fault them. It's nice to see the same friendly faces, special mention to Bernie who has served me for years,best barmaid around!!

Big pub with screens for all the sport a pool table and dart board can be busy on a Saturday night nice pints can have a good night in here

I have been a regular at gardeners arms for over 30 years never had any problems until tonight..football was on TV and I happened to sit next to someone who i had not seen before who was smoking an ecig which was smoky and smelly. .I asked him to not to smoke it but said he would not .so i ask bar staff about him using it but they said he was allowed to use it in the pub..the smoking ban made pubs better but surely not to these smelly smoke ecig .I would recommend going to other public house

Very friendly atmosphere and staff are great to nice pub just to chill with a gin and lemonade and prices aren't to expensive either. They are a drinking pub so don't do food but would definitely recommend a visit

This is not my local pub but is the one I have chosen to visit regularly. It can be a quiet place to meat up with friends for a chat (Lunchtime during the week) or busy & noisy when a home team football match is on or when they put an act on at Weekends. The pub has recently undergone a re-furb and is better for it although the car park space has been reduced to provide more outside seating. A new Landlord took over a couple of months ago and he is very friendly and is always busy doing something although he does spare time for customers. Regular bar staff make it the sort of place you can pop in solo for a pint and still have someone to pass the time of day with. Please note - This pub does not do food apart from crisps & nuts despite there being local rumours it was going to !! It does look the sort of pub that would and people regularly call in and ask !!
