this pumpkin is a absolute joke! never enough hot food cooked when it comes to dinner time.and no sausage baps on a sunday morning as the supervisor can now predict how busy they are going to be so they just did bacon baps if u can call it bacon thats a joke, and no sausage or breakfast baps. absolute waste of time staff are rude and well overpriced for a little cafe.

Called in today and found that all had changed, Pumpkin cafe premises, whether they’ve been rebranded or replaced, are now called Café Local Plymouth and it’s been completely refitted with better and simpler use of the space. There’s a shop area where you also queue at the counter but it had a wide but not cheap selection of wines beers and a lot of other carry ot food and drink that would be useful on a train. I think it’s an improvement if your feeding before a train or stocking up for a picnic on the journey. Nothing here though really competes with the new mobile pop up outside the concourse by the exit slip down from the multi storey car park.

I popped in here 29/12/23 for some food and a hot drink while waiting to catch my train. I ordered a coffee and bacon bap. After waiting a few minutes for it I then sat at a table to eat it. The coffee was ok but the Bacon bap was really awful. Not much bacon. It tasted off. It smelt strange . After a couple of bites of it and the sickly smell I left and threw the bap in a bin. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I was concerned about its freshness and if I would be ill. For the rest of the day my stomach didn’t feel good and I was burping a lot. I will definitely not be going there again.

Called for a coffee and a bacon roll ... the small flat white was pleasant but the bacon roll looked nothing like the displayed version. The roll was like rubber the bacon inside looked anaemic and hardly covered the small roll. I didn't expect a fantastic sandwich but the version I received was way way bellow my expectations. If you offer something by showing a picture at least provide something that looks vaguely like the picture ! I was waiting for the Paddington train to arrive and it was running 30 minutes late so I "treated" myself ! 23rd November 2022 at 1.15pm

I went to the cafe with my 78 year old mum who has dementia. I was struggling to get her sitting comfortably in the chair so a member of staff called Claire came over and helped mum into a more comfortable chair. She knew exactly how to move mum safely as she said she used to be a carer. When I ordered mum a hot chocolate, Claire cooled the drink down with cold milk and put a straw in the lid (trimming it first to fit) making it easier for mum to drink. Claire made, what could have been a stressful outing, into something that we both thoroughly enjoyed plus I have now learnt how to lift mum from a chair safely. I am very grateful to Claire for taking the extra time with me and my mum.

I got sandwiches and two bottles of juicy fluid. It cost over 8 pounds. It is good to have the cafe there. It is the only one. There used to be a really nice cafe to the right of the barrier but it was got rid of. Alot of train cafes are not open at present so it is definitely good to have this Pumpkin open. One can't always rely on the trolleys on trains for sandwiches. Well done Pumkpin for being open.

Just been served by a woman who has major issues with customer service. I was given a single use plastic knife and as I was eating in (not that I was asked) I asked if I could have a metal knife. She begrudgingly gave me one which was dirty after seeing me clean it she offered to clean it?! Then when she tried to give me the plastic knife again I said I didn't need it as that's why I asked for the metal one and she proceeded to bash me for having a lid on my hot chocolate which she gave me without choice! Unbelievably bad customer service. Avoid at all costs!

I was 30 minutes early for my train from Plymouth Station to St Ives, so I looked around for a coffee fix. There was Pumpkin, where I had a Coffee Americano and an raspberry muffin, while I read the newspaper in air conditioned comfort as I waited for my train. The service was prompt and friendly, and I do not understand SamLand72's comments and poor rating in his review just because his coffee was served hot. I would be complaining if it was served cold or tepid.Being a visitor to England I later realized that Pumpkin is a franchise and a branch can be found at most railway stations.

It's the only food place and opens quite early. Drinks slightly better priced than the mini Spar shop across the concourse. I fell for the bacon butty deal which comes with any hot drink especially at breakfast time. Less than £2 extra but alas the quality and taste don't justify it. It's unsmoked bacon with no flavour. It is not adequately cooked and there's a wide strip of fat which is raw. They are all pre-done and already in a napkin and brown paper bag then give a quick few seconds in a microwave beneath the counter. Even with the complimentary sachet of HP sauce mine was barely 4 bites and all a miserable experience. I'd have done better to have got a couple of discounted choc bars from WH Smith next door.

The waitress (Tall, blonde, mid twenties) was unfriendly, rude and a really bad person to have working as a representative of your company. The hot chocolate and food were delicious as always but her service skills were non existent. She was rude, barked one work questions at me and the other customers ordering, literally yanked the panini out of my hand to go and prepare it, never once said please,thank-you or similar and looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp throughout the whole transaction. I would recommend customers to get their drinks from the help yourself machine in the station than put themselves through the abuse received when ordering a drink from her. Very disappointing since the products on sale are fantastic.

There is a very expensive counter on platform 7, the concourse convenience store has a Costa machine and then there's Pumpkin. The station is strangely isolated from the real world. Standard chain station cafe - no better or worse than others in the chain, although it's not very large inside. The drinks and food served are average, and a little pricey - however, you can apply for a free Bite card online which gives you 20% off at pretty much all station hot food outlets - with one of these it takes it down to standard prices, and, to be honest there are little other eating options near Plymouth train station as it isn't in the town centre.

Not even a good example of a Pumpkin. The small grab food bar under the same brand offering cups and hand held food just inside the turnstiles is a bit more useful. There is an apparently unrelated cafe snack bar further over on one of the platforms at Plymouth station but still a bit clinical and very expensive. There has to be a rethink by the station owners amd operators. In Plymouth particularly lots of people wait for delayed trains or connections. Of only some enthusiastic caterer with a bit of flair could be allowed to trade here without a prohibitive rent then it would not only be welcome to regular and occasional travellers and the meet and greet brigade but the food quality would very easily be better.

There have been some rubbish caffs down the years on Plymouth station but when the Pumpkin brand moved in on a lot of the sites there was a distinct improvement. Clean light and friendly. Given that the choice is otherwise to sit on the platform or grab something to hold, or maybe fill a bag with picnic ingredients from the on site Spar shop, the Pumpkin is a bland inoffensive place to have some half decent coffee and a bun if your train or relative is late.

Disgraceful, never again. Been eating and drinking there for years. Took family there for an evening meal. Having spent over £200 pounds, at 9:15 we were told they weren't serving any more drinks, as they were closing and we had to leave. No apology and the member of staff walked away while we were speaking to her. This was entirely unprovoked, we had been quiet and polite all evening. It was purely because it had gone quiet, and most customers had left, not surprising if that's how they treat people.

There are now two eat in coffee and snack shops in this terrace, both doing well but to the extent that at peak times they can be full. That and the pressure on parking places means that you can be stuck and hungry but that’s where Friary kicks in because they do still have a good range pasties etc, sticky buns slices and all the rest. No wonder there is often a queue.
