Pukka Pies in Charnwood

Once at the front of the queue to be tipped about 4 or 5 guys on FLTs desend on you and your tipped out in rapid time, I had a fully loaded double decker and I was in and out in 31mins, I reckon it took me longer to open and close my curtains than it took them to unload, check off and sign paperwork. Can't fault the lads.

Amazing service and food especially being right round the corner room.

Just had a pukka chicken and veg pie my god it has got to be the worst pie I've ever had in my life 99% rubbery pastry 1% filling shame on you pukka pie's never again 😝😝

Steak slice were my go to lunch as I found good quality..but now nearly everyone is grisly an flavour is not what it was, such a shame.

Do enjoy the Chicken and mushroom pies but deeply regret trying the breakfast pie. A couple of half button mushrooms and mush- never again !!

Hgv driver on collection here. Goods out marked as red. I was a drop and swap. Security let me in and I went around the back. It’s tight. The bays are angled and there’s not much room. Partial blind so get out and look plenty! The bays are close together (just 2) - and there are some pallets in the way. But it’s doable. Despatch staff straight out with papers - after a few goes I got my trailer on and swapped. Can’t comment on facilities as didn’t use any! Exit gate can be funky! Doesn’t always recognise your truck. Back up a few feet and go again and they open up. Sensor on floor isn’t working quite right. 4 stars because it could be easier if cheps were not stacked in front of bays giving you more swing. However security noted my comments and said they would pass them on and ask other drivers their opinions too :)

Steak pies were chewy and the filling was pathetic. Only reason i bought them was my favourite brand was out of stock. Pukka pies? More like puke pies. Never buying again.

Bought 2 pies today,most horrific thing iv ever bought,first piece of tiny steak that was in the first bite of pie was chewy and had to spit it out,putting me off the rest of my dinner WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN

Have tried the microwaveable Steak Pies, never again.The pastry looked pale, the contents were in there somewhere and the gravy, what gravy ?.Even Asda pies are better

Purchased a few months ago from the farmfoods frozen range and the sausage rolls were amazing today I bought them and are noticeable difference smaller don't taste the same unfortunately another company throwing themselves under the bus to supply them cheaper stick to your core values if it costs more I'm happy if it's good but this will be my last Purchase unfortunately shame 🫠

Had a few pukka pies and each one has been rubbish....there is hardly any meat in them and would never buy one again...they are rubbish

Have enjoyed Pukka Pies, so when I saw the new doner kebab pie I had to try it. Tasty, but little filling overall with kebab meat claimed to be 7.5% but struggled to find it. Massive disappointment!

Just gravy in their pies with the odd scrap of meat. Have tried them several times but will never waste my money again.

An extra large piece of blue plastic was found in a pukka pie, which my elderly father was consuming. A very serious choking hazard, made a complaint and the response was a very poorly written letter and £12 vouchers to buy more pies. No thank you! Terrible customer service! In breach of the Food Safety Act and will not respond to my emails! Horrendous! (Doesn’t allow me to attach photo for some reason)

I got a Pukka pie for my husband and my dinner, i was so dissapointed with the content of my steak and ale pie, it was all mouthand no trousers, it was a pie for 2 people and i could count the a out meat in it on one hand. Never had a pie like it,even the shop brand pies have more meat in them.

First time eating Pukka Pies tonight! Jeez Louise! The best pies I've ever had. Steak and Kidney! Cook it properly and you'll be in Pie heaven.

Always loved pukka pies my wife gave me a so called steak pie for tea it was more like a Pattie I think 3 bits of meat and the pastry was vile I gave it the dog and even he walked away, what they done I notice our local fish and chip shop still sell the original pies that must be over twice the size , I certainly won't ever buy again

Steak and ale pie was disgusting. Taste of old smelly freezer with every bite. Honestly, the worst pie I've ever had. Disappointing

I did really enjoy pukka's pepperoni pizza slices, until I nearly choked on what looks like some really thick paper/cardboard substance, found in my pepperoni slice this evening. Which is strange, seeing as the product itself is packaged in cellophane packaging.

Pukka pies my A***, we bought the mince and onion but they should be called gristle and gravy pies, every bite was just more gristle. It’s not as if the pies are cheap! I would expect more from Pukka but no!! I wouldn’t give them to my dog if I had one as it would be cruel. So for them reasons I will give it a single star, to be fair if there was an option to give less I would have, completely ruined my tea. Thank you Pukka!!!!

No point of having different flavours because their is no filling in them . Should be called pukka pie pastry cases

Very rarely do I leave a bad review. I own my own business and I know the hard work and stress involved in running a business daily but the truth must be told. To say this company has gone downhill is an understatement. The quality of the pies are terrible. Hardly any filling at all. I dropped a pie on the floor accidentally and the filling inside was embarrassing. When I complained I was told we know the quality has dropped but we'll give you a free box. Can no longer order pies on the answer phone after 430pm and when they do arrive they are frozen. I had an issue with delivery. My pies never got delivered. When I phoned up I wasn't even offered any kind of resolution. The lady on the phone wasn't interested at all. I bend over backwards for my customers. These guys don't care. Very disappointing after been a customer for over 30 years. You just need to look at the reviews to see how bad it's got.

Bought steak and kidney pie no kidney at all and 1 small piece steak but there was a lot of gravy why this going on its a utter disgrace your charging so much for very poor quality pie I will never buy them again. The pie I bought in Lidl was way better lots of meat.

Destroyed my memories of a fab product- pastry to thick and the fillings sparse, now no better than Aldi or Lidl, u have let yourselves down badly

What’s happened! these used to be so filling now the filling is missing, up in price down in mushrooms and chicken.

Best pies around! Beautifully seasoned with tender meat. As with every bakery; the odd pie will have less meat in than others, but I’ve never had one with no meat at all like some of these comments state.

Just had a just for two steak and ale pie, No meat except for a strip of gristle and gravy. The box picture bears no resemblance to reality and must be contrary to the Trades Description Act. Such a shame, they used to be so good.

To compare the photo on the box and its toothsome chunks of steak with the reality- a thin puree of tasteless slop- is surreal. Pukka Pies must be breaking the law by so misrepresenting a product.

We purchase a box of pukka steak pies, will not be purchasing them in future. It says steak on the box but unfortunately I couldn't find any Complete waste of money. If I could I would have put 0 stars

Brought a cheese leek and potato pie today. Half way through eating I discovered a few strands of human hair. Unfortunately I swallowed some of it before realising, causing me to choke and heave. Sorry after this experience I won’t be purchasing again. 🤮

All pastry hardly any meat or gravy. Small amount of meat was unchewable. Won't be buying again . Used to be very good when they first came out but sadly not anymore.

Never tried Pukka before as if bought from a supermarket I’d normally go for Holland’s. Just had their all steak pie though and it was amazing. The pastry was crispy on the outside and moist on the inner. Thick tasty gravy and prime cuts of meat. Can’t understand the negativity on here based on what I’ve just eaten.

I work here through an agency and all these reviews saying there is little or no meat is ridiculous, just part time hours to help with the current living costs rising. Ive watched the filling being made and there's is an unbelievable amount of meat lol. Top quality ingredients used throughout and its hygiene is 11/10. Tried these ‘steak’ pies which should be called ‘gravy’ pies as that was all that was in them. Won’t be buying these or any Pukka product again.

Steak and Red Wine Just for two Pie. It's got an excessive amount of mushroom in, which isn't part of the pies name but is in the ingredients- and is a main one too. They just are not a nice texture or taste at all and completely spoil the pie. AVOID. There's more mushroom than steak despite the ingredient listing claiming otherwise. I have to say that the pastry was pretty good,. but I paid for a filling that was a real disappointment- it couldn't even be used as dog food.

Steak pies are really nice. Steak slice taste nice but lacking in steak so lose a star. And the beef pasty (which should be called the potato pasty). Stick to the pies. Just found the balti pie (this is now my favourite)

Recently tried the new sausage roll - needless to say I won't be buying again. Too much pastry (which was very tough) hardly any sausage meat and tasteless!!

Can never find any ingredients in a steak & kidney pie. Rebrand them as gravy pies would be more appropriate for the disciption.

These should be called Yukka Pies. They are 60% full of air. I found three meager half inch pieces of chicken in the pie. They are the worst pies I have ever had except a certain supermarkets essential pie, howerer to be fair that was 80% less in price! This should be a breach of the Trade descriptions as Pukka is the Indian world meaning proper and corrtect in all respects! I had the Kiwi Pie at a third of the cost, it was twice as large, no air full to the brim and thats how a pie should be. Charlatan pies these Pukka Pies!

I have eaten many pukka pies, mainly beef, but very seldom get the beef tender as described on the box. A more correct description would be chewy. I think they would sell many more if they were tender.. I have now decided not to buy them anymore although they are tasty.

Have loved Pukka Pies for years but recently they have slid from 5 star to 2 star the pastry has got worse and the Steak and pie with mushrooms and red wine has become mushroom thick dark gravy to cover up the lack of meat . You have let yourself down badly my grandchildren refuse to eat them now even your Steak only which as other reviews call it the gravy pie. I will not buy any more for 6 months then will try again to see if they have recovered there taste.

Bought from sainsbury's an all steak pie. Aprt from being 2/3 empty, what was inside was tough and tasteless. The pastry was like hardened paper mache and tasteless, toughest pastry I've ever tasted. A most disgusting product, and will not buy another product from you again. I'm amazed you scored 2.7 out of 10, if there was a zero option, I would have picked it. Seriously, how are you still in business?

Pukka Just for two Steak and Red Wine pie. Good portion for two, lot of sauce and some steak, would have been good but, and big BUT, why so peppery no need for it a steak pie is not to blow your mouth on firer, if you have to much pepper in your factory sell is separately but don't put it all in your pie please.

Just given my grandson one of these pies for his tea. He usually loves them but tonight the filling was inedible, full of fat. He won’t be having these again!

Hi i bought a stake pie from local chip shop last night it has bits of metal inside sharp cut my mouth hopefully I haven't eaten any lookly I hadn't gev my 2year old some not impressed thinking of sending it to papers please get in contact pukka!

My wife had a chicken and mushroom and I had a steak. My wife after hunting very hard found a tiny moral of chicken and half a stalk of mushroom. The pastry was OK but other than that the pie consisted of gravey. I found no beef at all. A small amount of mince (very small) and lots of gloopy gravey. What a rip off.

I did have to complain about the chicken pies, but I must have had an unusual experience as I have had no problems since whatsoever, but as I was quick to complain, I felt that I have to be just as quick to compliment Pukka Pies for their All Steak Pies The recipe is fantastic, I went out for lunch on Friday in a really good restaurant,and their pie was was no better than a Pukka Pie. So keep up the good work extremely tasty, and not expensive. When I did make my complaint, it was like going back in time the customer service was exceptional, had plenty of time for me and it made a real change from the way you get treated by some big companies when making a complaint. I have just cooked myself a Pukka Veggie leek and potato pie and lo and behold it had minced beef in it.Not sure if it was someones idea of a joke but thats the last one I will buy.Shame as the real ones are very tasty .

Wish I had read these reports before buying an All Steak pie. We have just had a family sized All Steak pie for dinner and it was all slurry with a total of 9 pieces of meat about 10mm in size. My wife said they should rename them 'Spot the meat Yukka Pies'

Bought a steak and kidney pie yesterday and 90% of it ended up in the bin. The filling was a pureed mess with no discernible pieces of either steak or kidney and if I wanted a minced beef pie, I would have bought a minced beef pie.

Bought pukka pies at Tesco's they were on offer so I bought four, two steak and kidney and two steak.l won't be buying any more they all had two pieces of meat in them, they are a rip-off. All pastry and gravy.

First and last time trying Pukka pies. Bought the All Steak pies for tonights dinner. Picture on the box looked good but nothing like that, where was the meat? I had 2 small pieces, hubby had 4, very disappointed. Should be called All Gravy pies!!!

Used to be the best but since mincing the kidney in my favourite pie. They have ruined them. Such a shame. I understand its easier for their cost cutting process to just mince them but that y does not constitute a good pie.
