Saw a bouncer peaking over the top of a cubicle

Its a very dead gay bar, hardly anyone really there and sometimes there are creeps. Its expensive too. But its a nice place to go chill out with friends and have a good time getting drunk. Plus theres a pole to dance on. . . . Tips though.. not everyone there is actually gay, so watch out.

Went in late on the 25/8/23 great night until door staff assaulted a guy who was all ready escorted off the premises and wasn’t doing anything near the bar, but waiting for his friend to come out then allowed other people to attack him also.

Rude and condescending bouncer said I was too drunk to get in yet I was stone cold sober

In what world is it okay for a bouncer to take a girl out the back door of a club, then violently eject her partner out of the club in the opposite direction, refusing to say where they've taken her, or why? Only in Prop. Fearing for my girlfriend's safety, I was very close to calling the police. Luckily I found her outside, and nobody was hurt in this incident. I also got a chance to speak to one of the managers about it and he said they'd look over the CCTV evidence. I hope they do, and take action against this bouncer. If you're a girl, or with a girl, I would suggest giving this place a miss.

Been here a few times. Seems to have lost its atmosphere of late and given the entry charge we felt disappointed. Will give it another try soon.

Propaganda is the place to be but please make sure u go to toilet well in time as door staff will pull u to floor if u go last off been a publican myself I will be raising my issue with management and the police as cctv need to be watched to understand that door staff are breaking the law

came off train after a shopping trip , popped in here for a few drinks 6pm guy behind the bar was great,, good banter and very friendly, definitely be back x fab fab music

I tied to go here for some Sat night fun. I was turned away for being too drunk. Here's the kicker: I hadn't had a drop of alcohol that night. I do, however have a disability. I can't see out of my right eye (that's right folks, I'm a cyclops!!) So as a result, I have a pathological nystagmus and I do not walk in a straight line well. When I tried to explain these issues I was banned. Then I lost my temper. But I did not insult anyone or call them names. But the same can't be said for your excuse of employees. I am in contact with a lawyer. I want this made right. I'm willing to reach an agreeable arrangement so we don't have to go to court, but I'm getting angry enough to not care. The incident happened Saturday 2nd February 2022. Feel free to look into the incident. I begged for a breathalyzer. I have now bought one as proof. If nothing is done in 2 weeks. Then I WILL sue your establishment. The choice is yours.

To say its just Okay is a bit unfair as the drinks are good the staff are good and so is the entertainment. The issues I have are the toilets were unclean. The upholstery was sticky. And torn. The place really needs a refurbishment. Its a busy bar. And in all honesty one of my personal favorites for music.

I met my fellow countryman also out for the weekend that night, we stepped into Propaganda for a few drinks and dance a bit. My new friend drew my attention to the fact that for every-time he stepped on the dance floor (An open area near the entrance) 80 perc. of the white people dancing tactically withdrew and he was there all by himself. This happened about 3 different times and it was funny to watch I swear 😃.btw, he wasn’t even trying to dance with any of them folks but they all left anyway for obvious reasons. Never expected that in this day and age. Not a good place for blacks if you’re going to be by yourself.

dancing with my boyfriend, he went to the bathroom, and said stay there babe, then i saw him being dragged out the door. Crushed by 3 door staff while i was pinned to a walll by two door staff. please avoid

One of the worst experiences in a hull club we had as a group. Security don’t care about assault and do nothing to prevent it they were not even present in the club or outside i’m assuming they were out back smoking like they was for 90% of the time we was there and did nothing afterwards. Don’t go, there’s plenty of places in hull that actually make you feel safe and protected and prop isn’t one of them.

Very decent Club to go to. One of the best places to go to for a night out. Prizes are a reasonable the staff at the bar are quick at serving and polite. The DJs Awesome and no how to throw a party with good music. Also the Security are good at there job as well good people and they deal with the wrong ones instantly. So Propaganda with my review get a Solid 10/10

Went tonight, walked all the way from Bransholme got to the door of propaganda and was told by the bouncer not the night. No Idea why l wasn't allowed in. He would say why, just kept looking at his mobile phone. I said, isn't it open. He said nothing. I walk away & went into another pub. I got served. Puzzled my l was rejected.

Really good gay pub, one of the best in Hull! love the decor and has a great selection of drinks. Staff are really friendly and always decent tunes playing. It gets really lively by 10pm onwards but not much footfall earlier on. Some promotions would definitely help in that respect, especially given its close proximity to the station! One of the first gay pubs to truly establish itself in the area and would love it to pick up more custom at earlier times, not just the pub crawlers. Still highly recommended though 👍🏻👍🏻

the place here was amazing friendly staff and amazing price for drinks was great had the best time there and will always go back its my regular and will never be dissapointed with it the music there is great too

Good music but not really a classic gay club. Mostly straight people with mainstream music. Very few gay tunes...

DJ couldn't make up their mind about what song to play. Would just get into something then 90 secs later, the song would change. Been once, don't think I'll be back!!

Relaxed door policy on a Saturday night, 6 quid to get in, open until 6am. A mixed gay and straight crowd who all seemed to be having fun, with a DJ who knew his crowd and delivered accordingly. Overnight from York, I wish we had clubs like this there, probably the closest is Dusk, which closes at 4am, but which is largely straight. The bouncers spent a large amount of time marching around and inspecting the gents' toilet, in a somewhat over-the-top manner, but they know their business better than I do. The place wasn't exactly rammed, but the bar still needed a couple of extra bar staff at times to keep the wait down. The venue's drag queens made an effort with attendees. My wife and I mainly chose this place as it was open so late and we had to walk an hour and 15 mins from North Hull Community Centre, where we were watching my son box, and finding it impossible to order a taxi after midnight. The choice was good.

Where on earth do I start? COVID passport check, pass, well kind off. Sat had a nice time for a bit then some man started talking to me and my husband, coughing, literally in our faces while trying to talk to us, to which we said "COVID". Husband went out and asked the bouncers to get him away (I have asthma but have been triple jabbed) they said they would keep an eye on him. Husband went to the loo, started talking to me, coughing whilst holding his neck, no hand, I was moving away, bouncers were looking through the door, nothing happened, as my husband returned I was literally asking the drag queens for help, nothing, we left. Apparently he may have health issues so can't be asked to leave........what about those who this disease affects me most? Can he not be asked just to move away, just because what I have can't be seen as I wear a mask and abide by the rules it doesn't mean I am any less at risk or any less as important.......never ever again

Gutted. Was really looking forward to a fab time and was building to be. Drag queens looked ace. Really friendly. Loved the fact we had to show our passports. Everything ruined when an old guy came right up in my face coughing his guts up. Went to the bouncer asking for help as it was more about him being leathered and in my face. We even signalled to the drag queens we were really uncomfortable. "we will monitor" No. Get him out of my face. No help. Left.

Rude staff. Was singled out for a search by a bouncer in the toilets. Had nothing on me, and the bouncer treated me terribly, refusing to apologise. Complained to manager, who laughed at me. Generally, always loved this place. Good music, DJs amazing, open till sunrise. But that was inexcusable.

Me and my sister visited this venue last night 19/09 after paying £11 for a round of drinks the door staff decided to tell us that we couldn’t stay in with no reason why we had to leave. I was visiting Hull on holiday and this rude door man has now made me wish I hadn’t come to Hull for a holiday. This establishment needs to rethink their door staff and teach them that people coming in for drinks actually pay their wages and a bit of pleasantness doesn’t cost.

After they let us in and we bought the drinks they told us to leave because we didn t have our id. We didn t get to drink and we didn t get our money back. 🙄

Really fun pub...lovely people ..so friendly. No judgement...djs all day ..cheap but excellent drinks. Connected with most open minded establishments in the area ...private setting area at the back outside..for smoking..couches. booths...go there and be free..so many colourful beautiful people xx

Average bar nothing special, slightly dated and needs revamp. Drinks not particularly cheap and house specials not worth purchasing.

Usually never have a problem with propaganda the staff and go there most weekends. However, last night (Friday the 28th) the bouncer on the door was cruelly picking and choosing who was going in on I don’t even know what basis. Me and my friend was stood together and said I was allowed in but my friend was too drunk even though we was absolutely fine and he could see that... genuinely stood waiting patiently in the cold whilst watching him let in rowdy men and people so drunk they couldn’t stand. My friend calmly asked if there was anything she could do to prove that she was fit enough to enter but in turn he was very verbally aggressive and pushed her away.

Danny is one of the best. Remembers us after 3 weeks and went of his way for us. Impressed and hats off kid...

Never had a bad time here, drinks are cheap, music is loud, times are fun. downside is the smoking area, could do with some work done.

Fun, no trouble, great music, great prices

Nicely done out bar. Modern and tasteful. However the drinks aren't very competitive in price and aren't particularly special either. No cocktails menu just standard cheap spirits and mixers but you are charged premium prices. The short/young lad running the bar was also rude and unhelpful. Slight attitude problem in our opinion. This is the first time that we've been into an LGBTQ/Gay bar and felt disappointed. Theres no need for people to be rude or immature and unfortunately we felt this place was poorly managed on our visit. Doubt we'll visit again.

Popular town centre late night bar close to the bus/train station. friendly atmosphere, busy and good priced drinks.

Friendly bar staff, always served quickly even when it's busy. Good music, good atmosphere, prices no too bad either.

Staff are friendly and humourous! A very lively and bouncy place. I always finish the night here! I highly recommend for a good night out.

Drink prices are standard if not, a little cheaper than average. Could do to be a little cleaner, and smoking area could do with a little more coverage to protect from rain around the edges. Friendly bar staff and great drag hosts. All in all, a great time at propaganda!

Good bar earlier on...then turns bit Chavy earlier hours

Propaganda Hull "security" last night were the most unprofessional door men ive ever come across. Tugged on my autistic brothers trousers to prove they weren't acceptable wear....... couldnt just verbally tell him?. Its a joke, my brother didnt know how to react and asked me if we should go home after that. That night was my birthday. Particuarly the tall bald guy with a serious attitude problem made the night problematic for other people as well. So many people were arguing with him for the way he had also spoken to them as we were leaving to go to Fuel. I dont know what kind of training this guy has had but "SECURITY" are not meant to touch people unless for restraining, or tell people to hit him pushing annoyed people to turn angry. Amazed that guy still has a job, when the manager came out she didnt know what to say as she knew we were right. Writing a complaint today to management.

Starts with good music and crowd, but goes rapidly downhill with trashy ragga music and the crowd gets rougher to match it :( go to Leeds

I tried to get in and the bouncer was discriminating against me because of my limp saying i was too drunk even though I’d only had 1 beer. Everybody would walk like me if they were drunk but I’ve had a limp all my life so i just walk like that. I was of age and had ID. Will never be going again because they discriminate against disabled people.

I stopped using Prop due to the lager tasting sour, had it changed twice by lovely bar star. I left my drink and went back to savile row Not been in Prop since

I don’t and can’t club often due to being chronically ill... not life threatening but life limiting, but on a good day and if able this is my favourite place to go... really inclusive I’m no more judged for being disabled than anyone else for anything else... staff are lovely, door staff are so kind and helpful, and most importantly music is right up my street... just want to dance and lose myself... love it here! Once I’m here I can’t be moved it’s funny ... but I dance, chat, drink, and laugh.. what more do you want from a night out? Does not get the credit it deserves... me and my hubby love it here, and never any fighting or stupidity... awesome people xxx

Paid £4 each for me, my Wife and her Sister to get in. Along with my Daughter, her boyfriend and my other Sister in law and her husband to find there was no draught beer. Bottles only. Absolutely disgraceful. No refund offered. Stay away......

Fairly basic club but they serve until 6am if you're stuck

DJ was excellent, Bar staff were very friendly, Drag queen was a doll but you all need ice and lime behind the bar. Also, the bouncers could be more friendly. Just cuz you work as security doesn't mean to have to be a pig.

I have visited Propaganda numerous times and regularly enjoyed nights there. Unfortunately on this occasion I witnessed the bouncer on a power trip, randomly selecting clearly relatively sober people to refuse entry whilst letting other, drunk people in. His behaviour and attitude was also unacceptable. Strangely enough it was only men he was displaying this behaviour to. In the future, I will be ensuring that I video record my entry to the club (as I am entitled to do in a public place)and will take further action if the insulting and prejudice occurs again. To prevent this from happening the club needs to cease their contract with the security company and look after their customers.

No longer 2 for 1 drinks so is expensive and place is totally dead

Oh my goodness, rough rough ROUGH on a Wednesday night. Security on the door but full of women who wouldn't have looked out of place as extras on the TV show Bad Girls and not one man with a full set of teeth. The beer was clearly watered down so the 2 for 1 drink offer felt more like a punishment. Gave 1 star because the music was okay (but too loud) and the toilets were clean. Scary!
