Food was great and tasty couldn’t fault anything but if I could advise one thing is to bring the food all together where possible

Meal came cold tasteless meat not off a joint very disappointed never came again

Laura was fantastic, kept the place clean and was very polite all night. Very good.

The bar maid Laura was absolutely great nothing was to much trouble she always had a lovely smile and very good at what she does,you should be very proud to have such a smart person working for you,if i.had a pub she would be the first person to employ her 100%.

Myself, partner and little girl had a lovely meal on Friday after work. Food was lovely and service was fab - Attentive, friendly and very helpful despite it being busy- will return. Special mention to Kirsten & a lovely gentleman behind the bar who's name i missed who both made our visit really enjoyable.

I booked one of the function rooms for a wake. It could not have gone any better than it did. The staff were welcoming and friendly and could not do enough for our party. The food was excellent and definitely value for money.

We've always had a very friendly reception when visiting. John and his team are very friendly, especially Laura who is always happy to see customers old and new.

Visited Sunday night around 7.30pm the place was almost empty apart from a large gathering of young people around the pool table. The noise they were making was ridiculous, they seemed to be playing some sort of tournament within their group. The guys where shouting at the top of their voicea the girls where sceeting at the games. There was no one behind the bar, then I realised the young barmaid was sat with the players. I noticed one young man was vaping and no one seemed to care. We left without buying a drink. Will certainly avoid this place from now on.

Only attended a wedding reception here recently. Exterior looks very nice, and inside is clean, just looks out dated. The food is very nice.

We stopped here for a Sunday lunch we both had the lamb shank and it was absolutely fantastic.A special thanks to the chef Matt.

First visit in 30+ years and 2 of its 3 ales were awaiting delivery. But the pint they had was very acceptable, staff were lovely, and I would definitely return. UPDATE: Fabulous staff with great humour and attitude. Alas, they no longer do handpull, and Marston's Smooth isn't going to win any awards. I'd still visit, love the atmosphere and people, but unlikely to travel there especially.

We hired the Fraser room to celebrate our wedding with friends and family. The gold buffet was amazing and received lots of compliments. Laura ran our bar and was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother. The room was laid out perfectly and the tables were decorated for us with the trimmings that we provided. Perfect venue for any occasion 😊

Great pub, nice atmosphere. Staff are really attentive, nothing is too much for them, always willing to help The place how two function rooms fit for all occasions. Menu has a great variety, suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Also has a gluten free menu which is good to know, incase anyone has any allergies. Also has a lovely large beer garden where you can soak up the sun.

Was my dads wake yesturday 11/07/2024. When we booked the venue member of staff was trying to convince us to pay for more food due to the amount of people was expecting to turn up but we refused to pay £850 for the food and really glad we refused to pay it. The buffet was absolutely awful 3 platters of sandwiches, 1 platter of sausage rolls, 1 platter of pork pies, 1 platter of stale crisps and a small bowl of pickle onions. The sandwiches were stale and didn't taste very nice, No options for vegiterians or vegans, The food was not worth the amount we paid. No food for those whos on special diet requirements or diabetics no sweet options etc. Can not express how disappointed we are, a small rubbish buffet for 40 people! Couple of family members were abit drunk so refused to serve them which we understood then refused to serve the rest of the party. I dont drink and refused to serve me!.. The bar tender looked very unapproachable, did not smile alot. Giving this place a 1 star which is not even worth the 1 star! Will not be returning again. Also kept changing songs to their taste of music!!

Turned from a 3* to a 5* since the new manager has taken over! Its a genuine pleasure on every visit! Thankyou to all staff for the welcoming hospitality.. we will definitely return

came in to watch the football and to grab a bite to eat, was served with a warm smile by a bartender named Laura. My food was delicious and was served by Jess who greeted me with a smile and offered some help collecting extra sauces!! Highly recommend

The two young women who were serving were amazing! They went above and beyond and provided top notch customer service. The only complaint was an overdone steak but the 2 staff dealt with it effectively and efficiently.

Brilliant local pub to go to if you are in the Bricknell area! We were served by the lovely Imogen who helped with our needs on the day. Very good service, quality and the prices are very reasonable. Thank you again to Imogen, certainly recommend and will be visiting again!

We unfortunately attended a family funeral, we had the wake at the Goodfellowship. The room was private for family members only and the buffet was really nice. We had our own bar staff, a lovely, friendly young lady, Laura. She was very empathetic towards us but also upbeat and kind. Her words were warming as she could sense I was sad, and did her best to cheer me up. A very wise girl beyond her years, she obviously has experience with funerals. I thank her for her service and making my family feel content.

Was nice place but the Barbie was lacking knowledge of where their power sockets where. I went for a drag cabaret nite so was a busy evening nice atmosphere but no one seemed happy or chatty that were we there. Bingo was fun during the event - didn’t wi mind ya. Gavin’s and co were funny and great entertainment!

Went to a drag show, so much fun. Fantastic atmosphere and great staff especially Kirsten who made sure we were well looked after.

Great night as all ways when hosting the fantastic drag show from the disappointing sisters however there appeared to be 1 girl on the bar serving aswell as collecting glasses throughout the show alone.. she coped and did an amazing job by the way . more staff needed for booked events in my opinion

Fabulous bar and restaurant. Really friendly and helpful staff. The Sunday roast was delicious and very reasonably priced, as were the drinks. Enormous car park, you’d never have trouble parking there! Definitely be back! Thank you very much for our stay with you!

Great pub for meeting with friends. Had a great deal on a Friday 2 moretti for £7 found out it’s on every Friday through out April so will be back. Got a nacho sharer as well which was good.

I went in to talk about arranging a party and found out they have 2 large function rooms. Jenny and Imogen were very helpful and went through everything with me and let me look at the rooms. If you are looking for a venue for a party, wedding or anything else this is the place to go to.

The food and service was brilliant. If I have a suggestion it is the food could have been set out earlier. Some guests came from a good distance away and had to leave before the food was put out.

We went to see my son play a gig here so booked a table to eat before it started. I needn't have booked as it's a big place and there were plenty of tables on a Tuesday evening. I didn't have high expectations of the food having looked a trip advisor, but it was actually lovely. We had a house salad with cauliflower and a house salad with a steak and both were delicious. It's a standard pub grub menu but we were really pleased with the food and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I'd be happy to go back. Also nice to see that it's dog friendly!

Good Cheap eats ... But bar staff could do with a Reboot. Service with a smile would improve the atmosphere ... and select your seat carefully because our visit was tarnished as the smell from the toilets was uncomfortable to say the least.. and were not exactly sat by their door . Certainly not the place it used to be back in the day .

Called in for a bite to eat, has greatly improved in all areas since the new manager took over. Would definitely recommend now! The burgers and fish & chips are particularly good! There is space for functions aswel as just general bar and eating areas 🤗

A small group of ten of us had my sisters wake here. We were given a spacious, quiet area which was excellent for my autistic nephew. The food was plentiful and very good. Thanking your lovely staff. Thankyou

Booked a table for 12 people for a birthday, hardly anyone in when we arrived. Told it would be an hour wait for food. Once meals arrived they were cold, undercooked, mostly unedible. Very disappointing. Won’t be back

Very friendly front of house staff greeted with a smile on there face service was brilliant came to check in on us and they totally understood my child who is on the spectrum they let her do what she she needed to do ie running around the children’s area like a lunatic and they was fine with it x
