Good location, pleasant staff but expensive for poor quality coffee and stale cake. Was offered a refund on the cake which I declined.

What a difference in service and standard from visiting during the Winter months - young group of staff who seemed untrained and uninterested! They served one customer hot milk with tea, another waited 40 minuted for two toasted tea cakes and they had to remind them again, only to have something served that had no colour to it at all. We only had half an order served, and the crowning glory was when they closed the black roller blinds and left us all in the dark at lunchtime!

Called in as we were walking along the promenade went to the hatch and we were served by lovely friendly staff who brought our drinks over to the wall we were sat near the cafe as all the tables inside and out were full. Ordered a tea and an americano the coffee was good quality and my friend said the tea was good. Used the toilet and that was nice and clean and smelled fresh. If I was in the area again I would definitely pop in.

Painfully slow service by people who clearly are not interested in customers. Stood for over 20 mins to be greeted with what do you want. £10 for 3 ice creams 2 in plastic drinks cups both different sizes. No please or thanks and no one smiling just chats about Uni. One lad def working hard clearing tables but that’s where it ends. I have been coming for years will give this a miss next time.

I visited this café with my grandchildren. We stood at the counter and were completely ignored by the rude young man. I have no problem with waiting, although it certainly wasn't busy! Approximately 4 tables occupied. He saw us, and to not even be acknowledged is rudeness. Some instruction on customer service and good manners are needed here. We moved on & received a warm welcome further along the Prom.

My husband and I tried to eat here today with our 1 year old. We waited whilst the owner served one of her regulars and as I opened my mouth to speak, she completely ignored me and served someone else who was paying. We asked for a highchair and were told very abruptly, in fact very rudely, that she didn't have any because she didn't have room for them. I suspect this is because she doesn't want families in there. I'd say the only thing warm about this cafe was the open fire. Do not go here if you've got children, your money is not welcome unless you sit outside on the plastic seats with the dog owners.

Visited today queued for 15 minutes as service is very slow. Ordered two cream teams at £4.20 each. Received two miniature paper cups with tea in already made and two very small scones that had also already been made ie they had been cut in half, smothered in jam with a tiny amount of cream on top. The scones were not homemade as advertised, they were stale, the jam was far too much, they had no butter on them and the small dollop of cream was squirty cream! Absolutely awful. I've never had a cream tea served to me to n this manner and certainly never had one that involved squirty cream. Tea was also not good as it was to strong for me - not everyone likes builders tea you should be able to make to the strength you like. Will never go here again, expensive stale cheap ingredients avoid at all costs!

Walked along the promenade with my family today and came across this cafe. They sat outside whilst I ordered 2 lattes and an Americano and some cakes. The two young lads who served me didn’t seem to have much of a clue when it came to customer service and was I left standing with three drinks and two cakes wrapped in napkins and no way of carrying them!! A lady who worked there came to my rescue. Took the drinks to the table and couldn’t tell the difference between the lattes and the Americano. Presentation was very poor. Won’t be going back.

We pushed a wheel chair with an 89 year old mother-in-law over the railway footbridge to reach this smashing cafe almost at the southernmost end of the Promenade at Grange. We were there for the perfect warm summer's day, so sat outside and enjoyed a lovely filter coffee and then ice creams - in cornets with chocolate flakes. Classical. The cafe has an old world feel and has breathtaking views of Morcombe bay, the now defunct Lido is nearby and it is only a short stroll on to the crazy golf, putting and bowling greens - all reminders of gentler summers. Very good toilet - very friendly service - a gem on the coast, a boon to locals and visitors alike!

Grange over Sands has to be known as one of those delightfully charming and charactered little towns which for me, has not had to move into the 21st century’s busy and polluted cityscape! There’s few things as nice, as ambling down the promenade here, taking in the scenery and letting your young children safely play (think the town's a micro-climate, allowing it’s sub-tropical plants to thrive). But then stopping off at this cafe, for a nice cream (it’s cones are so fresh and tasty).

We found our way to the promenade on our first day near Grange. The cafe was an oasis on a hot sunny day. Over looking the bay and hills and tucked into the hillside it provided and ideal setting for our first cup of Cumbrian tea accompanied by scone and cream. On our last day we revisited Grange to pick up some of the excellent pies from the town so once again strolled along the promenade. This time we had ice creams. 'Thunder and lightening' was one flavour on offer. When I asked what the flavour was, it was explained and then much to my surprise was offered a free sample. Delicious! Cheerful service. Excellent value. Can't fault it.

We only wanted a coffee and a cake as it was only 11.15 AM but had to queue for 20 minutes behind people ordering hot food and spending ages deciding what they wanted at the last minute Nice stuff but it needs organising a lot better Guess as its volunteer run it depends very much on what the staffing is on the day They need a separate area for those just having coffee etc rather than a meal

“Let’s stop for ice cream” we said. “It’ll be a treat for the kids” we said. It wasn’t. Honestly we nearly lost the will to live. Not the fault of the people serving but the convoluted menu of ice cream sundaes and milkshakes which each took about a week to make. We only wanted ice cream and were waiting around 45 minutes which honestly just wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t just us as several groups abandoned the queue while we were waiting. Need a fast-track queue for customers wanting ice cream only. Won’t be returning.
