A very different experience. What a great night. No draught beer just cans or bottles. A pastiche of the prohibition era. So friendly and very very different.

A great little place. They have loads of live music and events going on and the team there are the loveliest people. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Nice venue split over two floors. We attended a cabaret show in the upstairs venue. The show was entertaining and by the end the whole audience was up and singing and dancing. Downstairs was a sultry jazz singer and band. Great vibe to the place - turns to the camera - Nice!

Came here for my first night out in over a year and thoroughly enjoyed it! The music, atmosphere and staff were all absolutely wonderful and I feel like I'm going to remember this night for the rest of my life. Such a brilliant venue, our first time visiting and we will definitely be back :D Thank you for the memories! Prices are also fantastic, honestly I wish I had come here sooner! The bouncer was lovely too!

I love the atmosphere of Prohibition Cabaret Bar the most. Especially when they have live music or Burlesque shows. The upstairs venue available to hire is a fantastic space for a party too. I had my 40th there and everyone was impressed with the place.

Lovely venue providing (often) free music and cabaret. Excellent period decor, ideal to pop in for a bit of time travel. Close to Central Station so ideal to relax before getting the train. Very good range if liquor.

My favourite venue to play in Newcastle. The ambience is outstanding, the decor is impeccable and the staff are super helpful and really quite lovely. They make you feel like part of the family. If I still lived in Newcastle I'd be asking for a job there. Taking on the legacy of the world famous Newcastle Jazz Café, the Prohibition cabaret bar could not be in better hands. I literally can not say enough for things about this place.

I've been coming here since it opened and never had less than a 5-star experience. I've been in on quiet nights, busy nights, live music nights, quiz nights, been in with a group, and by myself. The staff are always a joy and easy to talk with. The drinks are great (highly recommend The Racketeer from their signature serves) and reasonably priced. This is the place I can't wait to show my friends when they visit and so far, they've all been impressed! Shoutout to the house pianist too, who is a great fella.

Outstanding bar, I love the chilled out, old fashioned yet elegant feel and atmosphere to the place. It's a fantastic spot for a quiet few drinks with classic cabaret entertainment. I Will be back on Saturday If I can get a seat in there. Which is the only downside, not very large capacity. I'd have rated it 5 stars if they had some draught beer or ales on. Brilliant bar none the less with friendly staff

Best place I visited in Newcastle. Absolutely lovely, you must visit this fabulous place! The staff are so lovely and the drinks are fantastic. Absolutely loved it. I will always be coming back here! Lovely music and people.

Love an evening in prohibition. It is always relaxed and friendly with great acts.

I came to Prohibition Bar last night with my partner and at first the staff were really friendly and the drinks were perfect. Then I decided to, very politely, ask if there was any potential shots we could order. From this I had the bartender mock my appearance under his breath and tell me “this isn’t a Wetherspoons”. The shots were made regardless, and I tried to offer a tip, for any inconvenience, which was turned down. Just a really strange experience overall that ruined the night and made me feel like an idiot for seemingly no reason. I wouldn’t usually leave a review but I loved this place a couple years ago, and even came to some shows back when Prohibition Bar was in Gateshead - so it’s just sad to have such an odd experience with somewhere I had such a positive opinion of.

Lovely place all the staff are so welcoming. Drinks menu is varied and there is something for everyone. Will definitely visit again when back in town. Thank you so much!

Visited the prohibition bar two Thursdays ago. Stayed most of the night with my wife and sister in law. Very nice drinks, great selection. Easy relaxing vibe. Lovely friendly staff and very safe due to their covid safe policies.

I tried to go for a few drinks with a friend in the Prohibition yesterday. Unfortunatley I have a medical condition which exempts me from wearing a face covering indoors. I was asked to wear a mask on entry, I politely explained that I am exempt, but the person at the door said I was not allowed in anyways. They explained that their boss had told them that because people can exempt themselves for lots of reasons - the company had took the stance of creating a blanket ban for people not wearing face coverings. So this place is not very inclusive and seems to have adopted a policy of medical discrimination on entry.

Beautiful venue, very friendly and professional staff. Diverse range of drinks options with a very reasonable price list. The atmosphere is lovely and made us feel very welcome. Can’t wait to see the place back in full swing when things return to normality. Thanks so much.

Cool vibe, cool atmosphere cool decor is as I imagined when I read the name of the bar. First time visitor will definitely be back. Well done for offering something old, but new......

I love it here. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The drinks are lush and the work Mitch has put into the space is so clear. That bureau 😍 They are closed until August because they put the health of their staff first and I adore then all the more for that. Once I feel safe indoors again this will be one of my first stops 💜💜

Came out of the Forth to go into Cabaret bar only to be told by door staff not your kind of bar. Despite posts on social media asking for support that's 10 customers you will never get again.

Attractive place with affordable cocktails, but doesn't quite summon the atmosphere of a 20s cabaret bar.

Favourite bar in the area, I'm here regularly. From their own line of ale to their dog encouraged Sundays, there's something for everyone. Often burlesque and cabaret events on, as well as quizzes and other entertainment. Always a lovely welcome from the friendly staff and free parking just over the way in Tesco for up to 4 hours if you're attending a show. Highly recommended!

Quirky little place - bit of a hidden gem. Really nice aesthetic. Good for small events, but it can't seat that many people.
