Magnificent menu, delicious freshly cooked food, very friendly staff but not overbearing. Excellent visit. Highly recommended.

I ordered a buffet for 60 people for my husband's 60th birthday party. The food was incredible, everyone loved it. Everything arrived on time and was piping hot. Excellent service from Raj and his team, highly recommend.

Don't know why I haven't reviewed this place before because I've been going there for years. I've tried many Indian restaurants but can't find one thats a patch on this. The food is simply lovely, and plenty of it. Always hot, and served nicely. The staff are very friendly, but not overly attentive which I sometimes find irritating. The place is very clean, and nicely appointed. All of this, and reasonably priced. You really can't go wrong by eating here.

Great place to dine in with the family and friends. Very friendly staff and had such a lovely experience. Not to mention the food was delicious.

Prithi is back in business and thank God. After having to shut down because of a fire they are back open. Whilst closed we tried three different local curry houses and none of them were a patch on Prithi. What ever curry we order we always have the Chicken tikka'd as you will not get better bbq chicken. The tandoor chef is a master the spicing is spot on and the cooking is superb, the chicken is always moist. Believe me after trying three other curry houses and each one over cooked the chicken you come to appreciate how good Prithi is. The Prithi Tikka Massala, Chicken Tikka Pathia were all excellent and each sauce tasting different, the onion bhaji crisp and perfect, the Brinjal bhaji was cooked spot on. We have eaten and had takeaways from Prithi for decades and so glad they deliver to us in Chessington, being closed has just reminded us how special Prithi is

Consistently brilliant. Been going here for over a decade. Staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is spot on. Particularly love the chicken tikka, chicken tikka madras and balti chilli chicken masala. Lovely doughy naan bread too and poppadoms always taste fresh. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Service was very poor, had to ask bar staff for drinks because waiter was too busy taking take away orders on the phone rather than looking after the customers in the actual restaurant.

This is an amazing Indian restaurant . Staff very attentive and food very reasonably priced . Cooked to perfection ..unfortunately we live in Plymouth and only visiting London so I am so glad I researched this little gem . We will be back next year I'm sure ! You will not be disappointed !

Myself and my family (approximately 12 of us, sometimes more) have been going to the Prithi for over 15 years now, and I can truly say I have never known a better curry house. It is not an exaggeration when I say that in these 15 years we truly have never had a bad meal there. The quality of food is exceptional, and quite frankly unbelievable for the price. The only ‘suggestion’ I could ever make is that it would be wonderful if they could add allergens next to each dish, especially gluten free. We really are so lucky to have the Prithi on our doorstep, as would travel far & wide for it!

By far the best Indian restaurant in the surbiton area, and very good value for money. the staff are great. It is a really pleasant restaurant to eat in (award winning) but takeaways are also good. the meat is very good quality and chicken dishes are always large chunks, and tender, which really makes a difference. tandoori flavours are fantastic.

Looking for a good curry house and found it here. Good food and service. Was a busy night but staff coped well. Shall certainly be eating here again.

We were let down by a local restaurant for a delivery just after Christmas and so called on Prithi. They were brilliant and we'll definitely use them again! Great fast service and delicious food all around (though a little more seasoning on the saag dishes and the shashlick would be good). Great value too. Star dish: Saag paneer.

By far, the best food anywhere I've found in the south east. Real authentic taste, fresh and delicious. I visited over 150 restaurants. These guys are the nicest people you could wish for. Raj and the team work so hard and provide the best service and food for great value.

Very good food for the price, I love coming here and have bought friends for years. Big choice of menu even take away is ok. Really good friendly service even in current times. I cycled and locked my bike around the back.

Used to be regular favourite but something has gone wrong. Delivery this evening was meant to be an hour, no longer I was promised. 90 minutes later still no sign. Man on the phone said they were busy and had kept taking orders. No apology. Couldn’t tell me when the order had been completed or where it was. Delivery driver not picking up. He turned up 1hr 45 mins after order placed - had just been given it to deliver. All food cold and no longer tastes like it used to. Samosas pathetically small and look shop bought and undercooked, curries not what they used to be. Won’t bother again.

By far the best Indian restaurant. The Food is amazing. Can't get enough. Would recommend very highly. This is the one to go to.

Our Meals here take out and eat in have always been perfect. The staff are very accommodating and lovely to our daughter. The food is exceptional and will always recommend to friends albeit most of them go here now. We always look forward to a delightful meal here

Worst tasting food - had after a long time!This is NOT Indian cuisine - for sure. Butter chicken cooked in ‘coconut curry’ - really??Tandoori chicken smelling of being old and stale egg(ish) - unable to pick the second bite.As much I may sound harsh, but just being truthful - none should get fooled the menu served in this restaurant as INDIAN please!

I am a regular customer at the Prithi and have introduced a fair number of friends to it.during the tennis grass court season I have two Wimbledon players staying with me.One is a highly ranked Indian player.I took him along to the Prithi 3 years ago and ever since it is first choice of restaurants in the area.He insists that we eat there every night that he is in Surbiton.He travels all over the world eating curries in every city and every country.He always tells me that the Prithi is his favourite place to eat as the food is superb.

I’ve been a regular here for sometime. The food is ok but the service is terrible. They close when they want, I often find they have closed 30 mins to one hour before their advertised time and collection is rarely available Very poor service, they treat regular customers like dirt.

In my opinion the best curry house in the whole of surbiton and Chessington lovely authentic food and very generous portions.

We had often thought of trying 'Prithi' but had never got round to it. What a shame! The food was some of the best we have ever had. The place was clean and well laid out. We shall be visiting again very soon!

The menu selection is huge, the prices are very reasonable and the service is fairly good. Have used this restaurant for 10 years plus and eat-in experience always good. Would really benefit from a mini refurb/deep clean, e.g seat covers, skirting, cupboards looking very tired.

This is just up the road from where I work, and on occasion we have called in after work, as everyone knows, a curry after work is one of life's little luxuries.

The best food (Veg Phall) and best service in ANY Indian restaurant. Me and Hugo are regulars and raj, shafi and team are incredible. We have a good laugh, brilliant service. They go way above and beyond for us. 100/10.

Very good restaurant, the dishes are very tasty and the place is quite good and relaxing. Spectacular the curry king prawns, try it if you like curry, prawns and spicy food.

Having tried most of the Indian restaurants around Surbiton, this is our favourite. The balti dishes are the best curries on the menu.

Visited here with some friends on Sunday evening, having heard good things, the tables were all occupied but it wasn't overly busy compared to the other curry houses in the area. It took half an hour for anyone to even take our drinks and snacks order. We were then given poppadoms - with no sauces and no drinks - this remained the case for another half an hour - by which time everyone was parched. When our drinks did arrive the they were wrong and we had to keep reminding them of what we had ordered, it took over 45 minutes just to get our drinks - with noone offering to take our food order. When FINALLY a waiter took our order, it took one full hour to get our food! Unbelievable. Never seen anything like it. Food was okay, nothing to shout about and certainly not worth the ridiculous wait. We thought perhaps they had made us wait on purpose so as not to enable us to take advantage of their earlybird dining offer - but it wasn't that at all, they were just really bad at service! Certainly wont be going back!

Arrived 9pm got a table for 2 in the window fairly busy. Very small and cramped.

We had 7 of us go for dinner last Saturday and we had such a brilliant meal. With family over from Germany, some of them hadn't really had curry before so the manager taking our order was great at explaining and being patient. I had the vegetable thali which was brilliant (but way too much food for me!) But what I left was bagged up for Sunday night reheating! Great food and service even though they were clearly full of customers and loads of people came in to pick up takeaways. You know it's good when all the locals are in there. Think we've found our new Saturday night curry house.

This is a fabulous Indian restaurant with very well priced deals on certain days of the week. The food is excellent, tasty and, even at full price, very reasonable. The restaurant staff are friendly and helpful in helping you to choose from their varied menu.

Our favourite Indian. Food very tasty, everytime we have visited staff have been both friendly and helpful! They do some good deals mid week so might be worth looking into that. Have eaten in but also done take out - both great! Food comes out quick! Number 1 in the area in my opinion !

Me and the wife went for a cheeky Monday night meal, we had the set menu 4 courses for 10.95 each. It was really good, we had so much food we couldnt finish it. We have struggled to find a decent curry since moving to the area but i think this will now be our go to.

got a chicken naga mushroom rice and keema naan the chicken was very slender and just the right amount of spice in the sauce the rice was flavoursome also the keema naan bread was a melt in mouth sensation probably the nicest naga I've had for a while thank you!

Went to Prithi with family. Eight of us. Not one of us could find fault with the food.! Well cooked and generous portions. Good job we pre booked or else we may not have got a table. the place was very busy. Service seemed a bit slow but the waiters had a lot of diners to attend to.

I went along as a guest to their Monday buffet night, £12 for a starter, main course, side and coffee which is amazing value. I have been going to the Prithi now over the course of a few years, certainly since they opened and have been at least 20 times and after Monday was reminded that I should write about it. They use very little oil in their cooking, they only use fresh ingredients and the food is packed with flavour. There are the usual dishes, but a comprehensive range of specials as well. I've tried a range of authentic Indian and Bangladeshi dishes from hot Jalfrezi's & Madras, to medium Bhuna's and mild (but packed with flavour Methi dishes, and all have been perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff are attentive without too many interruptions, the decor is clean and pleasant with an intimate feel. Top marks for a top (though modest) restaurant...

Ordered a takeaway for three people and had it delivered. Food was great, plenty of it, delicious, and hot. It was delivered promptly and curtesly. Very good food and reasonably priced. Would recommend this place.

Really keen to try this place out as appeared on Get Surrey. Don’t bother. Food quite bland and service poor. Had to ask for drinks, long wait for food and forgot starters. Won’t be coming back and won’t recommend anyone here either. Great restaurant if you want a long evening out and have kids or adults who aren’t keen on curry

Excellent value for money and excellent quality food. I’ve never tried a dish from here that I didn’t like (I’ve tried quite a few). The food is consistently good and the staff are really friendly. Early bird weeknight deal is great too!! 10000000000% recommend :)

Have used Prithi as a take away and eaten in and the food is always delicious. We weren’t hurried out either and they were happy to box up any leftovers.

La última vez que visité hace muchas lunas, Prithi esta visita me hizo recordar por qué había dejado pasar tanto tiempo. Me he nunca antes necesitábamos agregar sal a una comida restaurante indio y digo nunca, pero por desgracia mi comida en Prithi requiere una dosis liberal de este. Lo que también necesitaba era grandes cantidades de comino, Garam Masala, cilantro, pimientos baja. . . De hecho cualquier cosa que hubieran hecho de sabor. . . . Bien, la comida india.. Todos los platos de este problema tan sufrido ni siquiera a un problema con un plato concreto. Hay restaurantes indios mucho mejor en y alrededor de Surbiton/Kingston, también Londres, así que, a pesar del servicio agradable lo suficiente, por desgracia no volveremos.

Good curry spot on the Ewell Road. They do various deals through the week too. If tried lots of the dishes and all of them always taste great and fresh. Don't hesitate to pop in if you haven't already. The staff are friendly too.

5 star restaurant, food, service all excellent. Best to book in advance as it is always busy. Disabled toilet was being used as a store room!!!!!

I have eaten at many Indian & Bangladeshi restaurants all over the world and I have to say that the Prithi is the best of the lot. An always innovating menu created by Brian the chef in consultation with Raj, the owner, shows no sign of resting in laurels. The choice of dishes is outstanding and whether you like mild creamy dishes or robust spicy ones, there is something for you here. I have been regularly eating here since it opened in 2004 and have never had a bad meal. I've also introduced my family and friends to it and all of them return. Have no fault to find. Highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant with friends for a catch up, and really enjoyed it! Prithi offers an extensive menu, with dishes I've not seen at other Indian restaurants. Good quality ingredients at an excellent price, so value for money is there at the top. Attentive staff and pleasant atmosphere, I am looking forward to my next visit.

Always difficult trying a new restaurant, but after have no qualms about returning and taking friends there either. Have done Weds banquet night which is good value. Service excellent and food the same. Had Brian the Chefs special and Sue had Chicken Oraninga , both excellent dishes. Well worth a visit

I have come to this restaurant sooo many times, on dates, with friends, family! It's amazing! Everyone is so nice, the food is just amazing! And the service is so lovely and friendly! If you go on Wednesday for their banquet night you get 5 courses for £11.95 or something, which is great- starter, main, rice or naan, side (veg) and coffee/tea. When you're paying more than that for the main alone it's great... you'll never finish it all! Absolutely my favourite Indian in/around Kingston! It's difficult to park, but worth the trouble!!!

We come regularly to this restaurant but the last two trips have been disappointing. The welcome this time was non existent and the waiter didn't speak to us at all! The poppodums as usual are lovely with an amazing selection of chutneys but our main courses were actually not very nice. Sadly, we won't be back.

I have been eating here for 13 years and have NEVER had a bad meal. An ever-evolving and changing menu, great service and superb ingredients. Hand-made naan breads are the finest you'll eat. Sunday-Tuesday evenings offer four courses for £10.95 in their early evening promotion. Wednesday nights are buffet night but book in advance because it is so popular.SUPERB.

This reastaurant follows the modern style guide for Indian restaurants. Gone are the heavy carpets and exotic wallpaper. Instead it is laminate floors and neutral light painted walls and matching decor.The food is generally authentic, well presented and tasty, although not what one might consider generously portioned.Staff are friendly; attentive without being overly obsequious or intrusive. The environment is organised in such a way that it works well for couples and small numbers, for a family meal, or for a large gathering.

Not for the first time (you would have thought I'd learned my lesson) My partner and I were ill after having takeaway from here. I eat out a lot and it was definitely this restaurant. Ruined my weekend.

Excellent takeaway. Hot, on time and just what we ordered (and wanted). Moreover it tasted great. Chicken madras with a bit (but not too much) of a kick. And lovely dhansak. Naan was not that great - maybe it suffered from the journey?!

Consistently good quality and good value eatery for bangladeshi/indian/pakistani cuisine. i've ordered 3 times so far and will again. I consider myself a chilli head and have eaten many curries.a wide menu selection including all the usual UK dishes plus more unusual dishes which i'll try in the future.I'm now a regular customer. good prices, on time, delivered hot.restaurant has a small step at the front that mobility impaired customers should note. unsure if accessible bathrooms exist.

A meal at the Prithi never fails to be amazing. The taste of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant makes this one of the best restaurants in the area. The staff are happy to allow you to take your time and enjoy your food, making an evening out of the meal, rather than trying to turn tables over.

Great meal considering it was half term and a power cut which put the staff under extreme pressure. It was also banquet night to which compounded the pressure but the food quality surpassed the wait.

By default, my partner and I ended up in this restaurant and enjoyed it on the whole...However, the service was rather sluggish, the waiters seemed confused/distracted and the food was - at best - good.The interior was somewhat welcoming and the portions were generally adequate.Interesting, but not somewhere we'll go back to..

Had to give this a 5 star as the food was sumptouous. Had Tarka dahl for starters with popadoms. For main had Brian's secret recipe which was good.. my gf had the honeymoon tikka . . hers was even nicer than mines. Service always with a smile and food to die for... if you want an Indian in Surbiton/Tolworth don't look any farther..

We ordered food for delivery which was my first eating experience at Prithi. The "manager" that took my order advised that our food would arrive within 30-40 minutes of the order being placed.55 minutes passed and we called to be told the driver was on his way. A further 20 minutes passed and still no delivery. I called through to the restaurant again (every time it was near on impossible to get though, and when I did I was asked to hold for several minutes). I spoke to the Manager again, who told me the driver could not locate my address and had called me. The driver did not call. By this stage I was very annoyed as it had been an hour and a half since I made the order. The manager said he would deduct £10 for the inconvenience, but all we wanted was our food !! Eventually the delivery man arrived. When we dished out the food we realised that is was stone cold, and even worse there were several hairs in our dishes. Very unpleasant experience, and not the way me and my friends wanted to celebrate the new year. We will never be ordering from here again, and I would advise customers to give this experience with Prithi a miss!

Excelent cousine friendly atmosphere staff greets you with smile very helpful.Food have no aditives and the chef Brian has his own secret recipe on a Brians special lamb or chicken.Value for money.

My partner & I ate here last night... The food was fresh & delicous, the service was excellent & it was great value for money. We were given a complimentary drink each which was a nice touch. I will definitely be returning!

Although, we live very local, we recently visited Prithi for the first time. Being of indian background, I expect food to be of a reasonable standard in terms of flavour and at least as good as what we cook at home. Alas, this was not the case. Although we asked for mild dishes for our children, the "adult" dishes were no where near the mark, with very little flavour/spices/salt. Our 10 yr old daughter didn't enjoy her very sweet butter chicken dish and preferred my "supposedly" spicy chicken balti dish with fresh green chillies (which incidentally arrived in a bowl rather than a hot balti). The fresh green chillies were more decor than hot, and my daughter (who prefers mild dishes) didn't notice the dish was spicy. We also felt that the service was very slow, the staff took considerable time to take the initial order, bring the drinks, bring the bill (after 2 requests) and take the payment (7-10 mins thereafter - frustratingly, we has to ask them to do so). On reviewing the bill, I had noticed that they even charged for the chutney's that accompanied the papadums! - shocking! Several non-indian friends had recommended this restaurant, so maybe I am being somewhat critical, but I'd say that this restaurant is not for those who have a palate for more flavoursome and spicier food.

I visited Prithi again last night and since I am relatively new to TripAdvisor I feel it only fair to give this place a shout as it never disappoints!The staff are always very friendly and attentive and nothing ever seems too much trouble. A very extensive menu with some great “Chef’s Specials” and should you ever fancy anything specifically to your liking not shown on the menu they are always happy to create it for you. The dishes are always of generous portions and of high quality which tastes delicious.Raj, you and you team are doing a great job. See you again soon!Paul

We saw the reasonable reviews of this place and decided to order a takeaway. Whilst the onion bahji starters and samosas were good, the mains were very disappointing. The chicken tasted processed and the colour of the sauce made it seem synthetic. However, worst of all, my partner was violently ill all weekend after our curry. Will not be choosing again unfortunately.

Amazing food, couldn't fault it at all. Lots to choose from. Head waiter a little serious and bossy but who cares when the food is so good. Very child friendly too

You always get a warm welcome at Prithi. The food is good, fresh and flavoursome. A classically wide ranging menu which has some new things to try.

The Prithi serves up a wonderful, tasty variety of food and is everything you would expect from a British-influenced Indian restaurant. The staff are welcoming and there are some excellent dishes on the menu.

My wife & I decided upon this restaurant owing to some good reviews & close proximity. We took our niece, who was leaving the UK for NZ, out for what we thought would be a good evening. However, our hopes of a good evening were trashed by poor service, 20 mins., just to get water, wine & pre meal popadom with dips. We ordered a mix of meat main & veg.dishes. The veg was good but nothing to shout about The three main meat we ordered were lamb, chicken and prawn, guess what ---- they all had the same flavour, heat and consistency. All dishes tasted the same and were dull and lacking spice or anything that made for enjoyable eating. If this is how Prithi Cuisine present themselves, then go elsewere for Indian Cuisine.

Absolutely amazing food that's not only authentic but great value for money if you go Monday to Wednesday before 7.30pm.I would highly recommend the lamb chop starters with top ten chicken for mains which is one of the specialities...........This restaurant also offers a home delivery service.Staff are friendly and attentive and nothing seems to be to much trouble.Highly recommend a visit I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Mainly visit Prithi these days for a takeaway and on the whole they serve delicious Indian food. We recently went looking elsewhere when they stopped making the butter chicken the same way that I love! Prithi, please change it back to how it was as we haven't found another Indian eaterie in Surbiton come close to yours yet!

Been to this place loads and am never disappointed - the staff are always really friendly and pleasant. Food's good, always get offered a complimentary drink at the end of your meal like a Tia Maria, baileys or sambuka. Still get the traditional hot towel for your hands (not a microwaved baby wipe like so many Indian restaurants offer these days!) good value for money and great atmosphere.

Without doubt, the best Indian food in Surbiton. Just a crying shame that the service is dreadful. Visit on a busy night (Friday/Saturday) and the waiters can be downright rude.Please have a word with your staff and sort it out. It really does put us off returning.

We were a party of five, and the restaurant was very busy. The food was very good, with decent portions, and is good value for money. However, we asked for a jug of water on arrival and four more times during the meal, and it only arrived after we had gone up to the counter and demanded it (with our desserts)!! Not helped by the table next to us getting one just after we'd asked for ours the fourth time!! Otherwise service was good, if not particularly friendly.

Lovely food well presented with lots of flavour. Lively on a Saturday but managed to book on the day for a slightly later table. Some nice presentation touches too.

I recently won a meal for 4 courtesy of Radio Jackie. I was delighted as we love Indian food. The Prithi restaurant is in a good location, and parking was easy. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. They offered an extensive and varied menue catering for all tastes. The meal was authentically cooked, well presented and the portions were substantial. Not from this area but have been here twice before and it was very good 1st time 2nd good 3rd time, well maybe should make it self service as they really can't be bothered with anyone, more interested in their mobile phones, yawning, scratching them self's in place you really don't want to see in a restaurant! Dim lights in here and we could still see ! Food very basic. Won't be a 4th time.

This is by far the most consistent Indian restaurant we have ever used. Been coming here for years on a regular basis & missing Raj, Brian & the team since movingvfurther away 7 months ago. Lamb Saag & Dhansak are always fabulous, the popodoms & chutneys are always fresh & if you like a nice light white wine with your meal, the house white is good. If I had one grumble it would be that they can be a little haotic & slow with the cheque once you've eaten & this is especially the case the later / busier it gets on a Sat night. We always tend to arrive before 7 & so get the best service. Not everyone Ive taken there has been as enthusiastic, by brother finds the food a little heavy on the garlic, me, I love it... Bring on the Garlic Naan & Tarka Dhal. Try it, if its to your liking, you probably wont want to go anywhere else. We use Prithi as a benchmark these days, Brian the chef is a God!

I love the chefs specials, they really are a cut above the usual curry! Fresh food. Very warm welcome, and lovely food.

Tasty, good menu and food arrives on time. Our Friday night treat never disappoints. Manager / owner is friendly and interested in his customers which is why we have continued to use Prithi over the last 5+ years.
