An excellent restaurant delivering on all aspects. Had Feasting Set 4 dish style tapas, which was beautifully presented, highly fragrant & super tasty comprising of chicken satay, Jasmine rice, mixed vegetables & green Thai curry. Relative had Salt & Pepper Set comprising of Chicken Massaman, Jasmine rice, Sticky Chicken & Salt & Pepper Squid. Had mini coffee combo with Salted Caramel Soufflé & Caramelised Mango Cake with Pineapple, Coconut & Mekhong Sorbet, all of which highly recommend. Staff lovely & service brilliant.

Last minute booking and we were welcomed in a friendly manner on arrival. For such a busy restaurant seating is actually very spacious and you do not feel like you are sitting on someone else. Good choice of menu and food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this meal. Between 2 of us we had a shared platter, 2 drinks and 4 starters. It cost £34 per person. I would say the papaya salad was the spiciest and everything was manageable for someone who doesn’t like spice. The service was great and I would highly recommend it.

Gigling Squid offers delicious Thai food in a fantastic atmosphere. The restaurant is bright and very cosy. Service is super friendly and polite. The food they serve always looks beautiful. I personally like Thai food more spicy. But this is not a worry, as you can always ask for an extra chilli. Will be certainly back

Whenever I meet friends locally we always eat at Giggling Squid in Kingston. It's conveniently located so easy reach for commuting or driving. They are always busy so I highly recommend booking in advance but it's easy to see why, the decor, service and food is superb. They serve the best salt and pepper squid for miles, have a range of delicious main courses and I have to recommend the Pandan tres leches.

Serious food envy watching people enjoy their meals during a quiet lunch service. Sat there like a mug at my table for 20 minutes waiting for someone to take my order. Gave up and walked out.

My favourite place to eat in Kingston. Needs booking in advance. You would be asked at the door if you have a reservation before being seated. The place has lovely decorations, staff is always smiling and friendly, food is quick, tasty and nicely presented. Not the cheapest but worth the money.

I ordered their red curry with prawns. When the dish arrived at my table it was a bowl of soup with five tiny prawns, two slices of courgettes and about six small sticks of green beans. I paid £13.50. Our bill came to £78.20. I feel really let down by this restaurant. I feel robbed of a meal I was really looking forward to. I hope Giggling squid, Kingston upon Thames will put this right.

Honestly can't recommend this place - really wanted to enjoy it but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The Thai green curry was very grainy, like a peculiar, powdery texture. If the paste was fresh then I can only surmise that it wasn't ground enough or that it wasn't cooked out enough. I've made better Thai green curry at home with Mae Ploy paste, coconut milk, palm sugar and fish sauce....I can't believe I paid £17.75 for the food I received tonight. £13.50 for an abysmal Thai green curry and £4.25 for amateur egg fried rice. Honestly, I'm in shock. The aesthetic of the place gives an impression of professional cuisine but as far as I can tell, it is only that - an inference. Wouldn't recommend 👎

Last year we agreed that we’d begin a New Year’s Day tradition of having a Thai meal on Jan 1st. This year, we had a Thai from the Giggling Squid in Kingston. We ordered identical meals: Prawn Penang Steamed garlic noodles Roti Prawn crackers The food was A1! I literally licked the bowl clean… 10/10 be faultless!

By far the best restaurant in Kingston-upon-Thames. Food is fresh, tasty and so delicious. Staff are very attentive. It never disappoints. I have tried other giggling squid restaurants, and unfortunately it doesn't compare to this one.

Recently had dinner at GS Kingston, the service was friendly as always, the the food delicious, again no surprise! As a family we LOVE Giggling Squid’s food & tonight was no exception. We ordered all our favourites, Thai green curry, prawn pad Thai, vegetable massaman curry and the sticky chicken, of course with sticky rice! All delicious! Thankyou Giggling Squid, you are our go to for any family celebration dinner out 😊

Fantastic lunch - we shared six Thai tapas between two from the lunch menu and all were absolutely delicious. The normal menu is also available at lunchtime. Excellent and friendly service.

I’m sorry to say this was not as great an experience as I was expecting! There was a party of 14 of us to celebrate both mine and my sisters birthdays. 3 of us arrived at 5 minutes before the booking time. The table wasn’t ready, which is fine, but they sat us at the “bar” and despite sitting there for 20 minutes, we wasn’t offered a drink while we waited. We was then seated at the table, still no offer of a drink. The rest of the party arrived and seated. Unfortunately the waitress spilt a pint glass of water over my sister and the table which then wet my brothers phone. Whilst they did apologise, but no offer to give my sister her food for free or to discount the overall bill, given my sister was soaked and still was when we left and the temperature outside was -3!! The service was poor, we had 1 drink for the duration of the meal with the exception of jugs of water. The food however, was very nice, hence giving 3 stars but won’t go back anytime soon! More like a damp squid than a giggling one!

We usually order take away but finally decided to visit the restaurant in kingston and were super impressed not only is the food amazing but the location is lovely and the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend the chubby cheek pork!

Comfortable and colourful decor complimented by friendly staff. Tasty food, duck confit a bit dry but more sauce provided when requested. Not sure who did the wine list, but they left out the best pairing wine for Asian cuisine - Alsace Gewürztraminer! Will be back for sure.

I always enjoy the Giggling Squid. I've been to the one in Henley, Marlow, Weybridge and now Kingston and they never fail to impress. Great food, great service. What's not to like 😄

Lovely restaurant with great food and fantastic service.

The food was exquisite, I had the beef paneang and it was fragrant and flavoursome. The starters were amazing too: pork dumplings, pork belly, duck spring rolls and crispy squid bits. Also the most amazing part was how wonderful they were with allergies! The online allergen matrix was one of the best I’ve seen, include toggles for ‘may contain’ warnings.

Yet another beautiful branch of this loved restaurant. Food was fresh and flavourful as always. Setting is welcoming and bright and very lovely-smiling staff.

Both myself and my partner went to eat here on the 7/11/23, and it was the worst ever experience. At first it was welcoming, we sat at our table by a very nice waiter, then a new white male waiter arrived, with a scar around his head, shorter than average for a male. As I was discussing my partners food, he interrupted and was very rude, throughout the evening, you could tell he was racist, kept making rude remarks and even asked about my partners finances. His attitude stunk and I wouldn't recommend going there again. Plus side, the food wasn't too bad, the other waiter who was also male, checked in on us to see if we were okay. The main white waiter was a disgusting piece of work, and should not be working in the food industry. Wouldn't go there again, he needs to be fired.

Was a bit annoyed they weren't serving the Thai coconut cocktail as it's my fave have been to another giggling squid in bath & I must say it pips the Kingston one to the post food was good in Kingston service of the food was good but lack of napkins cutlery and clearing of tables

I went here for lunch with my wife on the recommendation of our daughter. The staff were friendly, helpful and prompt. The food was a little disappointing. Pad Thai was ok but too sweet, spring rolls were 'meh', as was the satay chicken. Veggies were good but the star was defiantly the Green Curry: full of flavour and spice. Would I go again, probably not! I prefer the Vietnamese place close to the market. Saying that, try it yourself. I am just a grumpy old man on a shopping trip with my wife. All I really wanted was a cup of tea, which I got.

Went pre theatre and had a lovely meal. Started with prawns - 4 grilled and with a lovely spicy light sauce plus some duck spring rolls Then we had a salad (a side salad) that was so yummy - fresh and delicious. It had halved cape gooseberries, bamboo shoots and lots of crisp veg. Also duck confit which came with pak Choi and broccoli. Big portion and lovely crispy skin Also a chicken stir fry which was nice but not as outstanding as the others. Plus some rice and a large bottle sparkling water Bill was £78 including service.

Gave two of our party food poisoning and have made little to no attempt to help after repeated emails about the issue. I was waiting to leave a review after being helped by customer service but I have just received an email simply saying this “All cases such as this is dealt with externally after we pass on all relevant info. I do apologise about the wait, but it is out of our hand at this point” It has been two weeks. Our party of four celebrated my friend’s birthday at your restaurant. My friend who had her birthday and I have been very ill from our meal. Here’s a description of our experience: We had a bottle of rose wine, a margarita and two Samui Colada which took about 20/30 minutes to arrive where the starters came out first, apparently the system didn’t send it through. There was a little apology and no offer of compensation for our wait. Our starters consisted of prawn crackers, chicken satay, salt & pepper squid and duck spring rolls which the four of us shared. All were very tasty. For dessert we had trio of dessert, a couple scoops of ice cream, caramelised mango cake and my friend had a melting heart chocolate dessert with an extra scoop of sesame ice cream with happy birthday written on it. Which was excellent and we are very grateful for the extra effort for her birthday, and made up for the drink wait. I think the problem was likely our mains however; both my friend and I had the sticky chicken. I had never been to Giggling Squid before and had thought it tasted burnt but not unbearable, my friend who has had it before said it didn’t usually taste like this and it was definitely burnt. Having waited and managed restaurants previously, I hate to complain so just ate it, which I now very much regret. Both my friend and I woke at around 2:30am and spent an incredibly painful half an hour on the toilet. As my friend had the exact same experience at the exact same time, there is no doubt that it was either the cocktail or more likely the sticky chicken. To make things worse my friend had to spend the following day travelling to Scotland for a holiday and suffered for a few days where she couldn’t eat, still frequenting the toilet. Our bill came to £200.35 and at this price we don’t expect to be poisoned. So not only was the night of my friend’s birthday ruined, but now the first few days of her holiday were ruined. We are very unhappy with the inconvenience of being iIll and there is no doubt that the issues stemmed from your food, as we met and parted at your restaurant. I hope someone will get back to me to refund the food at least, for our inconvenience and for the danger to our health

First time here yesterday with a mix of family and friends to celebrate a birthday, and it was fantastic. I absolutely LOVED the interior of the restaurant, it set such a nice tone throughout out with a sophisticated, elegant yet, cool and calm ambience. Service was fantastic. Very attentive, everyone smiling and friendly. Food was delicious, nice variety on the menu and very reasonable prices. My noodles were lovely, just needed a tad more oomph of flavour/seasoning. Drinks were a little on the pricier side, especially the cocktails but overall, there's something for everyone. Thanks to the team for a fabulous dining experience and very attentive service. To me that's very important and you all done it so well.

First of all, the staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t have done more for us throughout our evening. The food? Wow, it was unbelievable from start to finish. The prawn crackers with sweet chilli dip had a bit of a kick to them and were a great appetiser. We got the Chiang Mai to start, all of which was ridiculously good. The salt and pepper squid and the giggling wings being the stand out. For main we shared the sticky chicken and red Thai chicken and prawn curry. Both dishes were so tasty and we just could not stop eating. This was our first time visiting the giggling squid and it most certainly won’t be the last. If you like Thai food, you will not be disappointed.

I ate here with my family and it was a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, it was amazing! The decoration is beautiful as well! We had multiple servers and they all looked after us during the course of our stay. The food was presented well and it was delicious! Thank you so much for the great time!

Staff were so attentive checking on my dietary requirements in the kitchen. items have their ingredients listed online which we did check but the waitress went above and beyond to double check for us and sure enough an item i ordered was unable to eat due to an ingredient not listed online. So grateful for her to check for me :)

Really didn’t enjoy lunch here, ordered from set menu, chicken satay green chicken curry with rice , stirred fried veg.green curry was tasteless and main ingredient chicken was 4 Measly little pieces and it was just full of cheap veggies, after asking for bill the waiter asked if everything was ok. Told him I didn’t enjoy the curry and he took one drink off the invoice. Thanks

Came in on a sunny Sunday , greeted promptly and sat quickly . Ordered a ton of items and suggestions and advice of the waitress was perfect portions. Vibrant decor and good Thai food for the price point. Parking garage very close to the restaurant and the bathrooms were upstairs.

Absolutely superb food absolutely packed full of flavours. Spice levels are higher than many Thai restaurants so assume dishes marked with 1 chilli are about what you’d see as 3 chillis elsewhere. This isn’t to criticise the food at all, more be careful if you members in your party with a more sensitive palete. Traditional Thai dishes are all great and better than most other Thai restaurants but certainly trying some of the specials that you would see elsewhere. The lamb shank curry was particularly rich and flavourful without being overly spicy. Not quite sure why we were brought starters for everyone and one person was also brought their main (which was obviously finished off before everyone else’s main arrived). Be aware there’s an automatic 10% tax added to the bill. I do find this rather tiresome as a customer. Just put the price you expect on the menu and tips should be optional based on having a good dining experience. Automatically added tips aren’t a tip, they’re a hidden tax and you’re banking on diners being to polite to challenge. The food in particular is easily 5 star. Adding extra charges on the bill isn’t cool and rather spoils the dining experience. Making your customers feel like they’ve been forced into a more expensive payment isn’t an ideal final memory. Just rely on the food and service to get tips.

We used to go to Busaba so often but due to price increases we stopped to go there . if we had the same dinner in there probably we could pay around 150 instead of 80 . definitely recommend thanks to Adam and his team very kind people

Celebrated a 30th birthday here few weeks back. They set out the flowers I dropped off and chocolates for the guests. All the guests were so happy and found the food outstanding. We all enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and of course the amazing service provided by the team here. I look forward to all my future visits at Giggling Squid, Kingston and would highly recommend this restaurant for those in search for delicious Thai food! Thank you again Kingston team!

We visited Giggling Squid for the first time today and absolutely loved it! The restaurant's atmosphere on a Sunday lunch was really nice (restaurant was buzzing but not chaotic, so we still had a nice, relaxing meal). The restaurant is spotless clean and the botanical décor throughout is so vibrant and calming at the same time. Clearly a lot of time, care and attention to details has gone into the making of this restaurant, as everything is carefully curated (I might have to ask where I can find the same sets of plates and coffee cups next time!). The service, from all members of staff we interacted with, was fantastic from the moment we walked in to the moment we left - polite, attentive and genuinely friendly. The food, no matter what you order, will be delicious and beautifully presented! We had some prawn crackers with our drinks, followed by the Two Giggling Squids sharing starter (highly recommended!) and a Chicken Red Curry and Pad Kee Mao as our mains. We clearly ordered with eyes bigger than our stomachs and weren't able to finish our mains, but one of the staff members looking after us kindly offered to pack it all up to take home (great, as I hate food wastage!). Despite not being able to finish our mains, the dessert menu caught our eyes and we managed to squeeze in a delicious hot caramelised mango cake to share and a coffee (also really good). Overall, I'm really happy we finally went for a meal at Giggling Squid and I can't wait to be back and share this gem with family and friends!

Yet another great visit to giggling Squid!! We love the lunch menu which is served until 5pm, such great value. We got served super fast and our drinks arrived very promptly, followed by our lovely food. Dishes were lovely and fresh and hot and delicious. Service was very friendly, a lovely afternoon was had, thank you.
