Solid effort every time. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Food is of a good standard. The restaurant is big and well presented.

We always go to this restaurant on special occasions. The meal was good as always our only criticism was that the portion sizes have got smaller on starters and main meals and like every where the price has gone up. Also my fault as asked for water didn't say tap and got a bottle which was expensive, next time will definitely say Tap not bottled. We will be back in the summer this hasnt put us off.

Alexis our server was brilliant. Helpful and attentive. All the staff were good the restaurant is very clean and the toilets too. Love the food here.

Went for lunch on Saturday as a late Valentine's day celebration and they do not disappoint. Every bite is a burst of flavour and I get scared because I might want this everyday 😅

Disappointing to be leaving this review as we love GS. We never complain however we booked a special meal for Valentine’s Day and payed a lot of money for food which was not up to standard and didn’t taste nice at all. We were really looking forward to this meal all week and regretted going in the end. For our main we ordered pad kee mao, sticky chicken and jasmine rice. We were surprised when our food came out in less than 10 mins of us ordering. We hadn’t even finished our Thai cracker starter. The sticky chicken was soggy, stodgy, dry and tasted of corn starch; it was not crispy or sweet and sour like the menu said. You can see the difference of the chicken we had vs the picture online. The jasmine rice was dry and stodgy and clumped together like sticky rice. We didn’t finish these dishes as it was pretty disgusting. We suspected the food had been cooked earlier on and left out, due to the quality and condition and how quickly it came out of the kitchen. Lastly the pad kee mao was okay but not very flavourful compared to ones we’ve had in other GS branches. At the end of our meal, when the waitress asked if we enjoyed our meal, we decided to answer truthfully. Her response was “oh I’m sorry to hear that, would you like to look at the dessert menu” in a sarcastic tone … I don’t understand the point of asking how our meal was if you’re going to completely ignore a customer complaint. We asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill when it came and explained again that we wasn’t happy with our meal. The waitress ignored our second complaint and removed the service charge. I don’t think any of our feedback was relayed back to the manager. There was no gesture of goodwill and we had to pay for food despite the fact we’d left a lot of it on the plate. Not very professional or polite. As a customer who regularly goes to GS, I’d expect better customer service and hospitality than this. The food quality and service was not up to standard and did not match the price that we paid. We definitely won’t be returning to this particular GS again.

I have had Thai food many times but found the quality rather disappointing.

A nice friendly welcome with a big smile, sat down and given menus. Interior was nice. Food was brought out all together and was nice and very filling. Overall a nice place to take your wife out for a nice meal in a nice place.

I went there on Saturday for a birthday pre-theatre meal. It was absolutely fabulous. The staff were really lovely and very helpful. The food was top notch, delicious and served quickly. The waitress was very good at checking the order thoroughly. One friend in our party had made a mistake of ordering the dish, which was her fault entirely! It was replaced quickly without paying for the first dish, which was incredible customer service. I was given a lovely Happy Birthday pudding which was a lovely touch. I would recommend this restaurant very highly and will be back. 5 ***** rating is no more than they deserve.

The food was great,the service was extremely slow,they had loads of waiting staff so I assume the problem was in the kitchen. The restaurant was also extremely cold where we were seated and we had to keep our coats on, we were moved to a better location once a place became available.

Just had the MOST awful takeaway and we eat TONS of GS on deliveroo from other branches of GS. Half a portion of tasteless rice with frozen veg. Broccoli going off in my cashew nut stir fry. Tasteless sauce. Rehydrated horrid tasting chilli flakes. Food was cold. Absolutely dire- someone should formally inspect this branch!

Celebrated my partner’s birthday with family here. Service and food was superb!!! They even surprised us with complimentary birthday dessert. Thanks for making our special day more special.

It is the cute little restaurant - perfect for a date night. I’ve had two business meals in this restaurant and the service has always been amazing!! Food is always very filling too, don’t be deceived by the portions, especially the tapas from lunch menu

Disgusting, flavourless food. Greeted with prawn crackers and didn’t inform us that they were being charged. At the end of the night they tried to bribe us into leaving TWO positive reviews to remove the cost of the prawn crackers off the bill.

Very nice experience, I’ve been there multiple times and the food was always really nice. Have been to Rosa’s before but the service and food variety was really poor. If you’re trying to decide between the two, I’d definitely pick Giggling Squid from the two, no question in mind. I also recommend most of the curries and the Thai tea is a must have.

Another hugely disappointing restaurant experience in Kingston. Firstly I should say that the staff were all lovely and super helpful. However the overall service was super slow. We were in there for nearly 3.5 hours. I'm sure this was kitchen related as there were plenty of staff on the restaurant floor. Most people on our table were underwhelmed by the food. The vegetarian spring rolls were a highlight but the vegetarian Pad Thai with tofu goes down as one of the worst I've ever had. Zero taste, zero crunch, sloppy and greasy. Missing dishes and warm-ish bottles of beer didn't help make for an overly relaxing meal. All a bit depressing when the bill comes to just under £300. I'm positive the same food over the road at Rosa's Thai would have been ten times better.

Yo was a legend, she helped me repick the correct order after ordering the wrong dish. Yo spoke to the chef and i didnt have to pay extra.... perfect !!! So was Kevin

Pad Thai and beer for a tenner. Pretty amazing deal (till 18th Nov 2024) the pad Thai was one of the better ones. Good flavour and not overly sweet or slimy. We had previously gone this week to Rosa Thai, and had a pad Thai, which was awful. Plus Rosa Thai do not accept cash(bad move)

Starter, main and the mango passion smoothie were soo good and great service!!

I eat here every year when I come to the UK, and the taste and service do not change and are consistently delicious. My family visits Thailand for more than a month every year, and this restaurant is the closest to the original Thai taste. In some places, the taste and service deteriorate when the owner or chef changes, but I am thankful that this restaurant has always stayed the same.

This giggling squid is amazing!!! The staff are so kind and attentive, the aesthetics is very cute, the cocktails (alcoholic and non) are superb, the food is exquisite. I could not rate this place high enough. As a coeliac vegan, they cater very well for me with lots of choices. We go regularly! Most recently for my 30th with family. Bill came to over £200 but the service charge was only 7% which is very reasonable. 10000% recommend!

I had heard only good comments about this restaurant and as we both love Thai food my friend and I went to the Kingston branch to celebrate her birthday. And what a delicious feast it was. The food was plentiful and tasty and certainly lived up to our expectations. Even the Roti which we ordered as a side dish was perfect as this is often either too dry or too greasy in other venues. The ambience is absolutely beautiful, bright, colourful and very clean throughout. The atmosphere is pleasantly calm and relaxing with no noise level to speak of. The staff are lovely and welcoming and not at all overbearing, just there at the right time and very helpful. We will certainly visit the Giggling Squid again.

Walked in and found tables available. Ordered the Fisherman's Feast sharing platter. Within 5 minutes received the most incredible combination of seafood and shellfish with zingy dips. Soft shell crab, crispy squid bits, salt and pepper squid and papaya salad. Service from several staff members who couldn't do enough to help or advise and the most wonderful food. Second visit to a giggling squid and we are in search of more..

Would still recommend as it is better than the other nearby restaurants Good points: -Many halal options - The staff are friendly and attentive -The calamari is the best I have ever had and portions are great -The shrimp curry and pad thai were great -Nearby carpark (but a bit pricey) -Great atmosphere. Nice decor -Warm plates provided, which is not common in many places Bad points - They never have soup on their menu - A bit odd they give 3 skewers for chicken. Poor value for money - The tom yum rice wasnt too my liking and it felt like the rice was old and poor quality. -Someone did say the stir fry options have too much gravy, i partially agree - The pad thai had no fish net. For the price they were charging they should have done this.

Visited for lunch on a Sunday after booking.The food was okay but the service awful. For a good 20 mins no one even came to take the drinks/food order. Very long waiting after ordering for food The place is nicely decorated

Great food, the best I've had. Amazing squid and moneybags. The robs are so tender it melts off the bone. Could have had better service and quicker timings as we were a big party. But would recommend for a fine singing experience!

Lovely restaurant, beautifully decorated. We had the lunch tapas menu. It recommends 3-4 dishes per person. We selected 7 between two and it was just the right amount. Food was served quickly and was delicious. We will definitely return for dinner sometime to try the rest of the menu.

Food was easily the most flavoursome and delicious that we have enjoyed for a long time. Service was swift, friendly and helpful. Ambience just right for our family get together and the bank didn't break either. All in all a memorable meal.Heartily recommended.

Went here for my daughters 19th birthday, all the staff were so polite and always had a smile. The food was all delicious, im not a fan of prawns but the prawns here were delicious! They brought out my daughters cake at the end and sang happy birthday with us.

Have dined here a few times now - the food is amazing: great taste, quality, and portion sizes. My absolute favourite is the Lamb Shank Massaman, it's sooo good!! The restaurant is light and airy, beautifully decorated, and has a great atmosphere. Would recommend!!

Had a home delivery via Deliveroo. Absolutely awful. Stone cold food, sauces spilt all over the carrier bags, crispy dishes soggy. Basically, disgusting and very very expensive. Not recommended.

Lovely looking restaurant and pleasant staff but sadly the food disappointed. Stir fry dishes came in a lot of sauce and tasted stewed. All dishes lacked the saltiness you'd expect. Almost as if they forgot the fish sauce. Bottom line was the food looked good but tasted bland.

Greeted by very friendly staff! Male waiters of the evening really friendly and welcoming. The lady in blue shirt serving us was very kind and funny think her name is Yo! She made us laugh. Not to mention the food was extremely tasty, definitely recommend Can't wait to come back, thanks for lovely meal ☺️

I recently dined at Giggling Squid, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service was shockingly poor. Our waiter was not only inattentive but also displayed an appalling level of rudeness, particularly towards us as Asian customers. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited an unreasonable amount of time to be seated and served. When our waiter finally approached our table, his attitude was dismissive and condescending. He made us feel unwelcome and seemed to have a particular disdain for us, which was evident in his tone and demeanor. Throughout the meal, he was unresponsive to our requests and blatantly ignored us while providing noticeably better service to other tables. His behavior made us extremely uncomfortable and overshadowed what could have been a pleasant dining experience. It's disheartening to encounter such blatant discrimination in this day and age. I hope the management of Giggling Squid takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and courtesy. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you value good service and a welcoming atmosphere.

This is a great restaurant! Such delicious food, eclectic and beautiful decor and great service. A little on the pricey side, but not crazy.

An excellent restaurant delivering on all aspects. Had Feasting Set 4 dish style tapas, which was beautifully presented, highly fragrant & super tasty comprising of chicken satay, Jasmine rice, mixed vegetables & green Thai curry. Relative had Salt & Pepper Set comprising of Chicken Massaman, Jasmine rice, Sticky Chicken & Salt & Pepper Squid. Had mini coffee combo with Salted Caramel Soufflé & Caramelised Mango Cake with Pineapple, Coconut & Mekhong Sorbet, all of which highly recommend. Staff lovely & service brilliant.

Really special Mothers Day late afternoon lunch. The restaurant, food and people who served us were all really lovely.

Last minute booking and we were welcomed in a friendly manner on arrival. For such a busy restaurant seating is actually very spacious and you do not feel like you are sitting on someone else. Good choice of menu and food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this meal. Between 2 of us we had a shared platter, 2 drinks and 4 starters. It cost £34 per person. I would say the papaya salad was the spiciest and everything was manageable for someone who doesn’t like spice. The service was great and I would highly recommend it.
