Priory Fryer in Dudley

Ordered mini fish and chips, nothing mini about it. Was like a shark. Loads of flavour, tasted really fresh, nice crispy batter and not greasy like most places. Will 100% be coming back as very local to me :)

Lovely chips here and love how you have the option of plain or battered. With a lactose intolerant child, that is a big help. Everything come all packaged all tidy.

Loveley food chips can be a bit old tasting an chicken is is quite dry but other items iv had from here av been nice, they do some good deals it's definatly value for money an their Irish curry sauce is the one that's a must try

Absolutely shocking customer service, paid nearly £7 for a kebab and it wasn’t enough to feed a child. It massively depends on who serves you as one woman is always giving a lot less than the other staff and as this was about the 4th time this has happened over the months we took the food back. The manager/ owner came out and said he would refund the kebabs but not the bag of chips as there was nothing wrong with the chips then argued that the price of good has gone up….. I get that and the prices clearly show this but to cut the portion size down that much is a joke Will never be returning there

Got 3 tiny strips of Donner meat in my kebab. Robbed me. Avoid this place he rips you off

This is our local chippy, we’ve had issues prior with food sizes but today was ridiculous. 2 kebabs in pita and lg bag of chips £18.45 . Kebabs were £6.75 each and were so tiny and thin, barely any meat in doner. We went back over to complain and was told oh it’s the new pitas , they’re small. When the manager came out he had full on attitude and was extremely rude. We asked for a refund for the whole meal so we can go elsewhere. He refused to refund the chips and continued to be rude. Fine that he didn’t refund chips but as it’s a meal as a good will gesture. The kebab in pita are extremely small but the manager thinks it’s fine to charge almost £7. Worst part for me is how rude the manager was, awful customer service

Just pick up 6 fish bits and chips and chip shop curry sauce today.. Very disappointed Michael. The chips were very cold and the fish bites too. Very cold in the fish. The curry sauce was very hot though.. Just giving you feedback as I did pick up the order and live in russell's hall dudley.. Was very not happy with the purchase.. Even though you serve at. A great super value price.. Not at all happy on this occasion Sir.. Staff should know it's cold when serving.. Please I'm a regular customer..

Always clean and spotless with great friendly staff. Food is ace and the fish cooked by the female chef, Deb I think, is just perfecto. Best chippy by far. It's a must 👍

Just had fish and chips. Absolutely awfull! There was a massive long hair on the chips aswell.

We used to love this when it was priory fryer, now it's changed to the Island House its gone down hill. The fish is so thin, the roe was sloppy and thin it was inedible and the chips are limp and tasteless now. Its a shame as it was a great chippy before now everything is replaced with fancy cardboard boxes and paper bags, maybe save money on all that and invest in some decent fish

Good food but the service is soooooooo slow. I spent 25 mins waiting for mini fish & chips. Get some more staff and have fish ready. Staff are so slow, god only knows how they would cope in a busy chip shop 😱😱

I eat fresh cooked food when I go I buy extra bag and warm them up in the oven the next day and they beautiful better then when there cooked fresh

This chip shop as had a brilliant makeover fish and chips now in boxes by far the best inDudley now really tasty and very good value . You would expect the prices to have gone up with how they have upped their game keep up the good work excellent value and presentation

Brilliant service great tasty battered chips great value for money highly recommended, this has now changed name and quilty of food, I don't know what's happened, but chips are different now, maybe change or fat or supplier, always been regular customer, but won't go again, chicken meat different, fish different, made my family ill with sickness and stomach after trying it twice to give benefit of doubt unfortunately the same , change back to the way you were, making people ill 🤒

Great food and friendly staff, went in around closing time on Saturday, staff hooked me up with a mammoth mixed meat an chips an gave me the rest of the donner meat left, refusing to take payment as was just happy someone would eat it 😀

My meal took more than 20 minutes just to order and receive a regular roe and chips absolutely ridiculous, I will never be waiting there again.

Unbelievable!! Literally was in the shop for 40 minutes waiting for 2 things. The staff clearly lack communication skills. My advice is to just go to KINGS it’s faster and the food is actually edible. and ughhhh I’m just so angry where do they find these staff from??? and the lady had the audacity to say “thank you for waiting patiently” like you gave me no choice and as I was standing there waiting for my food the staff were just gossiping in the back instead of cooking. I’m not even trying to be dramatic but this genuinely ruined my day.

Didn't know it was Cash Only! I believed the food must be great, it was a shame that I couldn't have a try. Please note it is closed in the afternoon from 14:00 to 16:30.

Just been for the first time as recommended by a friend!! Everything was amazing the chips were the best that I've had in ages! The kebab wrap was lovely! The server was lovely. I will definitely be going back! Keep up the amazing work!! 👏

Wansn't bad, Maybe just went at the Wrong time but just went there for the Special Battered Chips, they were ok, not a lot of batter on it, Portion size was ok, Good Prices but. Gravy was Very Very good have to mention that.

Battered chips tasted lovely, but friend's plain chips were very greasy. I have tasted them before and they are usually very nice. When chips are carrying too much grease it makes me wonder if they are either refried, left in oil too long, oil was not hot enough when they were frying or, they are the chips that were on the drip tray. Hope to review this place in the future because I'd usually consider this chippy a five star.

Both plain and battered chips are delicious fish really white and fresh highly recommend This chippy to anyone portions are good sizes too.

I love this chippy it's our local and always go there! Sadly we had to reduce our amount of visits as £6.50 for mini fish and chips seemed too expensive for us to do weekly, I understand that cost of living has increased but unfortunately chippy teas are no longer cheap and cheerful. Only fault I would say is too much sauce on the mixed meat and chips last couple of times it was plastered and the food was swimming in it, but other than that we always enjoy the food from this chippy and glad we have a decent one that is local to us!

Went hear last night as saw it on fb food was ok but not great and big sign saying wear a mask on entry which none did while we was there said only 2 in shop at a time so would be me n hubby then called 3 other people in next to us again no masks was very overpriced to say the least

Very expensive for the poor quality I had chicken kebab meat chips, chips are nice but chicken was just a mush of little pieces, no salad put on even though I asked for it. Ordered two portions and both were terrible. Spent most of the night in toilet. Won't be going there again.

This chippy is perfect. The food is consistently superb. On this occasion battered chips, pukka pie sausage and gravy with loads of salt and vinegar. These people obviously care and appreciate good food. From 1st chip to final bite of pie I was utterly immersed in culinary pleasure, the chips are exquisite being fluffy and white inside and golden and crunchy outside. The Pukka pie (steak and kidney) was adequate in terms of its content but encased in a heavy moist glorious pastry. I 1st removed the moist pie lid and wrapped it around the sausage then dipped it in the gravy and OH MY GOD what an exciting start to the meal. Just bliss! The vinegary gravy just makes your mouth water. Then dipped the gravy laden chips into the pie and got down to serious business. Finished off with the pie casing stuffed with the last few gravy soaked chips. Absolutely wonderful with a perfect portion. I felt fully satisfied but not gorged. But, couldn't have eaten another chip. Perfect chippy, great people. Food cooked with passion Love it !

Finally given up on this place due to one rude woman serving, constantly getting my order wrong then giving me a load of gob when it's pointed out.

This chip shop is the worst I’ve ever visited there’s 2 members of staff that just don’t listen. By the time you get home after the 20 minute wait that they don’t tell you about the orders wrong and you’re left disappointed. Visit 1: I usually go to a different chip shop but as this chippy is a little closer I thought I’d give them a try. I ordered a large fish and chips. I told the member of staff not too many chips and salt and vinegar. I got home enough chips to feed 5 people no salt and vinegar oh it was horrible. Very disappointed ☹️ Visit 2: Friday night fish & chips. The traffic was bad on the way to my usual chippy so I thought I’d give them another try was served by a youngish guy I ordered a kiddies meal and fish chips had to wait 20 mins and when I pulled the guy up on the fact he didn’t tell me it was going to take so long he got rude telling me he told me. If I knew I’d have to wait 20 mins for fish a chips on Friday night I would’ve changed my order or gone else where. Get all the way home AGAIN the order is wrong. Mini fish and chips and the fish tasted like it had been sitting there all day. i wouldn’t mind but I saw fresh fish coming out the fryer so I assumed that was what I was waiting all that time for. Disappointing!!! There won’t be a third time

I regularly visit the Priory Fryer on Priory Road Dudley, and the food is wonderful each and every time! Not only are the prices and deals fantastic but the quality and quantity of food is brilliant. You get so much for your money, me and my family love the battered chips and fish! I would not go anywhere else. Shop is always spotless and staff are lovely! Great fresh food each and everytime. A wonderful Chip Shop!!

Good chippy, just a bit greasy very nice though

I had what i would call a Weird Visit or 2 at this Chippy!, When asking if their Chips were Freshly Cooked the Woman (who I presume was the Owner!) would start grabbing Chips out of the Frier & Chomping them Loudly while saying "Lovely Chips", Peculiar Behaviour in My Opinion!.
