To many druggies in this place always felt so unsafe when I went here

Absolutely love the place in every way, staff are awesome , most welcoming family friendly pub and accessable feeling I've felt instantly from the second I got there, clean and refreshing place and I'm sure you'll be and feel the same as I did and have since the first time I went in and it doesn't change.

Great hidden treasure. Staff pleasant and friendly. Quiet during the day, builds up mid afternoon. Doesn't offer food any more. Plenty of rooms to sit in including pool room and outside smoking. Ty to karys for a pleasant hour or so

This place is a little gem so friendly kindi and vicky are the best make you feel so welcome cheapest pub in dudley the beers and lagers are kept exceptionally well .Carling lager is only £2 65 a pint and it's a lovely pint can't fault.Would totaly recommended a visit may be small but perfect very clean and welcoming

Best local breakfast I've tried, £5.50 for a large breakfast with coffee. It's always cooked perfectly. Would recommend to anyone after a good quality breakfast made with good quality ingredients

Came in for lunch. Food was amazing just would have been nice to know it was going to take an hour's to get the food! If you have the time it's worth the wait.

Edited previous review.... Bang for buck, the best breakfast in Dudley for the price. You need to do a child size breakfast though because my pal Dean is a big flange and he can't eat a full one. :) Breakfasts here are epic and by far the best in Dudley.

7 of us visited on a Sunday afternoon first time any of us have been and so glad we did great value for money freshly cooked 2 Sunday roasts for £10 everyone said how nice the food was the full English were brilliant we will be back thanks charlton house 👍

Visited here twice in the last month. We had our work Christmas lunch here last month which was great and today visited for lunch with my mom on a spur of the moment visit. I had the lemon sole finger sandwich, and my mom had the spicy chicken wrap. With two drinks we paid less than £12 for everything. Great value and very yummy. Would highly recommend

We popped into Charlton House for a drink and snack as I currently work nearby, as the clientele wasn’t too inviting we decided to only stay for a quick drink. I would pop in again for a beer or two but there are far more inviting places nearby to dine at.

A lovely place to go for a nice meal and drink. Very reasonable prices and a nice clean establishment. Staff and landlord are very nice and friendly. They do offers on food and the selection of drinks is pretty good. I will have lunch there at least once a month. There is a smoking area out the back. Parking is a problem at times though.

Visited for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Greeted with a lovely friendly lady behind bar. I had full English and it was top quality and reasonable price. I will be back and will now try lunch as the specials look very tempting.

Came here for breakfast last week and was the nicest breakfast I have ever ate. Presentation was great and lovely taste. Will recommend to anyone to come here for breakfast. Staff was very welcoming aswell.

Charlton house is a very clean well kept place. Foods not the best but not to bad either. Good selection of drinks. Atmosphere could do with some improvement. On the whole I would go again for a quiet drink.

Amazing breakfasts at great prices, including tea or coffee. Always consistently good.

Came here for a few drinks and potentially some food. Left after one pint. No character whatsoever. Woman serving in the bar didn't even greet us as we came in, nor asked what we would like when we waited at the bar but just looked at us. Looks a bit run down and budget. Looked at the menu for food but all a bit disappointing...did have a giggle at a comment on it that said "our handpicked staff"! Finished our pint and got food elsewhere. Very uncomfortable stay.

I was recommended to this bar/restaurant by my nephew. The premises are situated within easy walking distance of Dudley Town Centre and parking nearby is manageable.

We walked into town, and decided to try here, really wish we hadn't! We waited 25mins for breakfast, which is fine if it's edible. The toast and bacon were very hard, and cold. I'm sure they had been cooked for some time. It was 10 o'clock and most people were drinking, not my kind of place really

Excellent food and great service. I took the kids and missus after a recommendation and was well happy with the friendly service given and the food was awesome - the Sunday roast was to die for! Looking forward to our next visit!

We had seen this restaurant many times and said we would try it one of the nights but never did then one Saturday morning we were in Dudley and decided to have breakfast we usually eat in weather spoons but decided to give the charlton a visit we had a friendly welcome and we're shown to a table checked out the menus an ordered 2 small breakfasts and tea and coffee which is included in the price the food is cooked fresh and was well worth the money more so than weatherspoons the food arrived hot and well presented so if your in Dudley give it a go we hope soon to try an evening meal.

2 adults 2 kids for breskfast. Full english. Bob on. Quick service. Generous portions. Nice and clean pub. Quite small inside. Worth a visit for sure. Have not tried curries but hear they are good

Popped in for a bite of lunch, didn't know what to expect but the interior was functional without unnecessary frills. The lunchtime menu has enough choice without being over complicated. The big surprise was when the food arrived, based on the price we expected two basic hot sandwiches but they came beautifully presented with a side salad and a basket of chips - and they tasted great too. The staff were friendly and competent.

Excellent currys, friendly atmosphere and staff and no I still won't give my postcode for Bestvial day tickets! Food inexpensive and good quality.

Nice friendly local with good food and plenty of rooms for small functions

There were customers who came to have their meal. Upon ordering pints of coke, the pair was not happy with the quality of the coke stating it was flat. The barman calmly replaced the beverages fresh from a new bottle (you could hear the fizz as it opened) and apologised politely numerous times. The 'fresh' drinks were still not to customers satisification who complained again (despite nothing being wrong with the drinks) and the barman remained calm and offered glass bottles. The customers at this point were demanding their refund, which was resolved promptly, despite nothing being wrong with their drinks.Sometimes restaurants do not get credit for dealing with customers well even when customers are rude, but tonight the staff at the Charlton House deserve to be acknowledgement.

The staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. They cater for your every need. The food is great especially the chicken sizzler. Host and people are very friendly. We'd come here again and again.

Visited today for a family members birthday. 12 of us went.. we had our own little room which was nice however... we ordered our food... it all came out at different times some people had finished before others meals had arrived. I had salmon.. it wasn't a fresh fillet it was a frozen fillet very similar to the ones from aldi. Someone else had carbanara the sauce on that was not nice at all. And my sister had a chicken burger which was very under cooked. I will not visit again. Was very disappointed as I'd heard the food was supposed to be nice

we visit Charlton House every week, and have done for the last 12 months. The food is excellent, as is the service. The bar staff are very friendly and always make us feel welcome. You cannot fault the food, we have tried most things on the menu and have never been disappointed.Without doubt this is the best food in Dudley. Would recommend anyone paying a visit. Derek & Lorna

We were stuck for food this (Tuesday) lunch-a local pub wanted £7.85 per meal-plus drinks-we returned to Charlton House for lunch-and had the all day breakfast for the second time in two weeks! Two rashers, two sausage, egg, black pudding, beans, two toasts AND coffee-£3.85-fresh cooked and wonderful and we will be back on next Monday -Two curries and two drinks £12 the lot!!

Stopping off here again and went for the home made balti pie and chips. The pie filling was very authentic and was complemented very well with the puff pastry lid and double cooked chips. The free wi fi was also handy. Will definatly b back for more.

I've visited here a few times during lunch break. We were able to phone our orders through prior to our visit to avoid waiting. I always opt for the sadwiches as they are hearty and we'll garnished, they also come with a basket of chips and salad. Staff are friendly, down to earth and accommodating. Great venue.

This is a friendly establishment that serves great food and staff are always friendly and serve with a smile ...i recommend the mibted lamb pie ...the sizzlers...pizzas and the currys...and the breakfast is a bonus...

Went about 2.30pm on Monday 8 August and found few customers. My friends were inclined to go elsewhere but bowed to my wishes and were very glad they did, The food was fabulous, The service appeared slow but was explained by the care in which the food was served, It was hot and very tasty and will be on the top of the list of places to go in Dudley town, We had for two of us Beef Lasagne properly served along with a side salad and Garlic bread, It tasted very fresh.Two people had `Sizzling` Salmon served on a very hot metal platter and of perfect consistency melting in the mouth. My only problem was the pot of tea which had an oval spout and on the first pouring the tea a lot missed the cup dribbling down the side of the pot, The spillage had to be mopped up off the table top, Thank you Charlton House for adding to our experience of Dudley....Congratulations all round.

Visited for a birthday meal with 6 others. I was a little dubious the first time I walked in but the staff were amazing. Very polite and well mannered. The food was delicious and great value for money. We will certainly be returning in the near future. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

2 visits in 5 days. Says it all really! Recommended by a colleague and they weren't wrong. Charlton House has stood on the corner of Priory Street, Dudley since - well forever. An intriguing looking building which has recently been refurbished. Pretty fairy lights around the exterior stand out on a night and make you quite enquisative of it's appealing nature.Serving a neat and unique selection of drinks and with a traditional pub menu on offer all at good prices, of excellent quality and friendly service. I can personally recommended the all day breakfast (all items are of quality) and Blue Moon Craft beer.Not a bad little place for Dudley Town Centre.

Myself and my friend was a bit hungry so we went to have something to eat and drink. The first cup was dirty and was made of water mainly we had to send them back. When I had the second it wasn't even fill but just half a cup not happy when the food do arrive wasn't even the right order. My friend was ok with her plate of food bit wouldn't go there again and on the arrival the one who was behind the bar wasn't even noticing us waiting ontill some had to tell her it felt like she didn't want to serve us.

After attending the Zoo with GF we went to the Saracens head. I was informed by a bar member they didn't do food, I asked would they recommend a place that does food. They recommended the Charlton House. I was thinking oh god, another pub in the midlands that does boring dull food.Still, We gave it a go. Walked in to the establishment of which we thought we had walked in to some ones house LOL, Seriously.Was greeted by what I can only think could be the GM (General Manager) and a lady who had only just started.We ordered our drinks and asked if we could set up a TAB because we would be ordering food too, They said of corse, take a seat and we'll be over shortly to take your order.I had the Lamb and mint pie with double cooked chips and seasoned veg. I asked does it come with gravy of which then the CHEF walked in. The chef answered with the pie comes with plenty of gravy so doubt you'll need gravy. I agreed to have it any way. The girlfriend had some burger with lamb and mint or some thing.I took a bite in to the pie and was blown away, it was amazing. fed the GF some and her face said it all, the chips weren't just chips, they were some thing else.The place was clean, polite guests, calm and friendly atmospheare.When we'd finished we went to pay the tab, I said to the GM If I was a food critic or a mystery guest I wouldn't hesitate in giving you top marks, it was amazing.I don't expect perfection, we are all human but after walking in to this establishment only 6 hours before posting this review I know perfection exists.Thank you for a wonderful experience.I/we will DEFFO' be visiting again if in the area.''I'll book a table'' LOL

Me and my boyfriends couldn't decide where to go for some food so we decided to try here! The best choice by far the staff were excellent. The food was delicious I decided to have the minted lamb pie and my boyfriend decided to have the big boy burger which are on the two for 10 menu, for the amount of food we received this was very cheap but also very nice! Can't wait to go back again

We where recommended to try this place...we had lunch first time, which was very nice.We visited again a week later to try breakfast, my husband went for full English, I had a breakfast sandwich, very nice.This time we had lunch again, my husband enjoyed his, but I had something off the special board, only to have it sent back because it was not cooked, and as it was chicken I didn't want to be ill.So my husband eat his and I was waiting....So next time I,'ll stick to main menu.The only thing is, it's very cold inside, but the staff are very nice and helpful.And they give you tasters of beers to try, before you buy.

have had a few great meals in here and all of them been perfect anything your not satisfied with they will sort it out anything you need they get we have had a variety of meals here ranging from the stake to curry to a sizzler and haven't been disappointed in any of them also its very clean and quiet and the staff am great also if you just want a quiet drink the have all sorts of beers larger ciders and bottles also many different teas and coffees would defiantly recommend this place

For the fourth time in 6 months we visited Charlton House for a birthday meal. I decided on the chicken sizzler instead of salmon like last time. The rest of the group had a combination of burgers including the big boy burger and 2 children's meals. Again we went away more than happy with the quality for the money. 6 adults and 2 children with drinks including a bottle of Hardy's wine all for a little over £90.Best in Dudley by far on value for money.See you again soon.
