Priory Fish Bar in Stafford

This has to be the WORST shop for a kebab it was clearly cooked a while ago it was cold and hard and tastes of old fat yuck never wasting my money in there again !!!

disgusting vile slop. i feel discraced after eating that. me and my pole dancing business colleagues went there for a maeeting and we expected a scrumptious chippy. when my mushy peas came they were awfully cold and brown. not cumming again

The outside and service area looks clean, but at the back of the shop, they buy very cheap peas fr Iceland, boil them, mash them and then serve them to the customers. I have never seen such a disorganized workplace in my life. They clean the oil every 7 or 8 days.

Fabulous Chip shop! Never had a bad meal. Fish is always fresh, Kebabs and burgers are a treat! I would highly recommend this take away.

i never get nothing from the oriory fish bar again service was off my partner got me large fish large tub of pease , peas were black and the cod was all batter not much fish and the chips were horrible never go there ever again, its gone down hill need to shut shop time to go

Ok so i dont use fish shops and or take aways regularly but when i have ive always used the Priory fish and chip bar. Each and every time I have used the ship I've been treated with respect and the staff are courteous and professional. I've never had any reason to complain. We why should I when you get treated well. The food is the best and it's only a 5min walk. So it looks like I will be using the Priory chippy a lot more.

Real shame as the food is quite good (for a stone takeaway) The service I experienced today, and most times I visit actually but today being the exception was appalling, it's like you're putting them out to serve you. Despicably rude and arrogant but still prepared to take your money. Never again.

We both had cod and chips. The batter is soo light! Fresh tasty you cant beat these fish and chips. Best chip shop in Stone.

Beautiful food.I highly recommend the chicken meat chips and salad.very tastey.will not use any other chip shop. The staff are great too.

We were passing through Stone and chose to try the Priory Fish Bar for dinner. The fish and chips were excellent. I had cod and my husband had haddock. Both were freshly cooked and tasted wonderful. The owners were very friendly. It made our stay in Stone to meet such lovely people. Teşekkür ederim.

The best fast food in Stone without a doubt, they have a really good food hygiene rating and are always very friendly ... We always go here when we have take away and even my kids don’t complain ! Prices are really good and the food is delicious

Lived in Stone 10 years, and have tried all the fish and chip shops. They are all good, offer excellent value for money and great food, but our favourite is definitely Priory. Consistent high quality, delicious chips and fresh, well cooked fish. Highly recommend.

We stopped here one evening for fish and chips on our way to our holiday hotel. We literally could not believe the portion sizes. The dog was ecstatic as she got to finish up because we couldn't despite our best efforts. Two of us had fish and chips, one battered sausage and chips. The batter was perfect, the chips were scrumptious, sausages were really tasty and fish was a delight to the taste buds. I can honestly say that these were the best fish and chips that we have had in a very, very long time. Such good value for money too and so good, we are taking a detour on the way home for fish and chips from this wonderful shop. Highly recommend.

Thought we’d try this fish bar for a take out as it’s local and we didn’t want to miss any of The World Cup ⚽️, when we got home from work. It was ⚽️K, but nothing special, and it doesn’t do delivery which is a real shame.

the chicken was dry and no meat left as all dried up! i asked for freshly made on the phone prior to picking this up.

Brought a lunchtime special ! The standard of chips I received were breathtaking , the chips were dark brown and looked like they had been in the fryer severalWeeks ! I took themBack and the owner kindly offered me another portion of freshly cooked dark brown chips ,which I kindly refused took my money back and drove seaveral miles elsewhere to buy something to eat !! I can honestly say I wouldn’t go back their again if my life depended on it !!

Had a cone of chips from here many times now, and the quality have always been above satisfaction. However the staff could be more polite towards their customers.

Pudding gravy & large delicious chips cooked to perfection in fresh oil.

Visited here Sunday teatime, I had fish, chips and peas and it was delicious. I don't usually have battered fish because it's mostly thick and stodgy but this was lovely, the batter was thin and crispy so no soggy bottom left uneaten, the chips and peas were lovely too. The staff were very welcoming and everywhere was nice and clean. I would highly recommend a visit to the Priory Fish Bar.

This for us is the best chip shop in Stone. We always have fish, chips and peas and so do our boys. The chips are always perfectly cooked and the fish is delicious. Thank you for always making our two boys feel special with the added bonus of a lolly. The service we receive is always fantastic

Vivimos más de 10 millas de esta tienda de pescado, pero vale la pena salir de nuestro camino para el excelente servicio, buenos precios, grandes porciones y comida deliciosamente cocinadas. Qué más puedo decir. Que son visitantes regulares y nunca nos ha decepcionado.

Lots of food! Chips where huge and so was the fish! The kebab meat was great thinly cut best I've ever tasted although not that hot! The red cabbage to go on the kebab was lovely almost sweetly pickled! However the man serving was a little rude possibly the time of night as it was late but he other server was very friendly, much better way to treat customers. However this wouldn't stop me going there in the future.

Priory Fish Bar is across the road from our venue for shows in Stone. This year they have again excelled themselves by supplying quality fish and chips for around 70 very hungry diner each night for 5 nights. And even when we wanted alternatives they were happy to oblige. Keep supporting your local shops and businesses in Stone. Feedback from all our patrons were the fish and chips were excellent.

Large chips with gravy and peas! Delicious; big enough to share happily.... does what it says on the tin ;) full happy kids!! We ate them in the car as there's no bar seat or chairs... but we still loved it!!

This is a traditional chip shop, offering the usual chip shop fare. The portions are huge, and service is cheerful and includes plenty of banter with the customers, who are mostly local.

Unfortunately, Priory Fish Bar doesn't deliver anymore - it used to - but, on the plus side, you can phone through an order in advance to collect. Great for me; I like haddock in breadcrumbs so it means no need to wait...

very good chippy,,,,chips are really nice compared to other chippys in area,,,meal deals are worth the money.

Chips were nice! Fish was tasteless,sausage was chewy as hell and obviously lunchtime leftover and the saveloy was cold and disgusting. Oh and they forgot my peas that I'd payed for. Never going there again

Best fish and chips in Stone by far.. staff are always friendly and attentive and will go out of their way to help.. Wide range of menu options and a good value for money specials board! Mini fish and chips with curry sauce is my favourite!

Got a large haddock and chips last week from here and it was delicious.Have just finished the same order again this week and would not believe it was from the same place,disgusting.Not even sure it was haddock but it was obviously reheated,very dry and awful.Never again

Just decided to give the nearest chippie ago, and it was really enjoyable we live about a good three miles away so the food travel well stayed hot and didn't go sad! We had chips sausage and lots of curry sauce and roe chips and lots of mushy peas and don't forget the bread and butter . Would return again well enjoyed

We order atleast once a week from here the fish and chips are always fresh and hot, portion sizes are very generous and the staff are so friendly! Consistently good food no matter what time or day you go which is difficult to find in a chip shop!

I love this choppy and have been a customer for years. My favourite is downer kebab which is always a generous portion of tasty meat. A little more salad would be nice but let's face it, if I wanted health food I'd cook at home. The staff are a really friendly bunch. I'll be back.

Place pretty grotty overall, staff do not wear hair nets which is a must in a food environment. On my experience I found a hair in my chips.

Consistently good food and choice available. Open every day. Good service and reasonable prices. 5 star review for hygiene from the local council, Parking can be difficult, but worth a short walk to it.

Not overpriced and provided lovely fish and chips that are not over done! Have found the other chip chops in stone are not as good quality and not as friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Moored up in stone for a couple of days, visited this fish shop after reading the reviews....they weren't wrong, absolutely gorgeous fish, chips and peas...and the largest portion of chips I have ever seen. Highly recommended if your out and about in stone.

Quite simply the most consistent Fish and Chips in Stone. Its as simple as that. The fish is always first class, the chips are always of hight quality and the prices are of good value. I wouldn't go any where else for a chippy run!

The Priory Fish Bar is a great chip shop in stone. The staff here are always very friendly and the fish and chips are always enjoyable. Reasonable prices and always seems to be open.

The food always seems to be fresh hot and tasty here no matter what you order. The team of workers take your order and prepare it and take the money in a very efficient manner!

This is by far the friendliest chip shop in Stone, Lovely fresh fish usually cooked to order and the chicken kebab is the nicest I've tasted, the salad alone is a meal in in itself and wonderfully fresh, beware though, the chilli sauce is not for the faint hearted! The delivery service is amazing and the food arrives minutes after ordering (min order for delivery is £10).
