The Crepe & Waffle House in Stafford

Food 3/10 Ordered 2 mains and 2 drinks £30. Not nice. Milkshake was off. Food was small Cleanliness 2/10 Table was dirty right up until we got our food. Got cutlery with no napkins. Service 5/10 Staff were friendly and helpful. But need a bit more training on basic restaurant skills.

Well it started with “It will be a wait for food” Without knowing what I wanted, Scone and coffee please ( scones in the cooler). Next at the table, Coffee came, hi can you wipe the table please (yes, never happened) I am now looking for a tea spoon! Sorry no tea spoons would this table spoon be ok ! You can use the handle. Coffee not very hot so quick to drink but not every body likes hot coffee I suppose so drank coffee and finished our scones and still table not cleaned. Now on getting up from the seat my wife had a lot of dog hairs on her black trousers so I am having to clean her trousers before we leave. Well needless to say I don’t think I will be returning and they won’t be missing my custom but I am sure if every establishment had the same thought then it’s no wonder places with this attitude end up closing down and staff losing their jobs, So maybe just a little thought on why you are in this line of business would be to pay a little more attention on the little things that make a big difference.

We went in here because our granddaughter wanted an iced bubble tea. We were told to find a table and someone would come to take our order. We waited and waited. So, I went to the counter to ask for service. The guy in front of me was having trouble with his order. When I asked about table service, I was told that they should have said to order at the till. Not a problem. I ordered and paid. We waited and waited, and no... they were not that busy. In fact, only 3 tables inside had people sitting. I asked for a sausage sandwich. If one sausage, dry and crispy at one end, in-between 2 slices of bread can be classed as a respectable specimen, then I guess I received what I asked for. I just won't be returning there. Service was slow and slapdash.

Highly recommend the Crepe and Waffle House at Trentham 🙌 the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted and my crepe was delicious. All staff so friendly and great customer service.

Fantastic little place, took my daughter for lunch on her birthday with friends, we all had the same (chicken me out) delicious, I asked as her birthday could they make hers a little different. Absolutely no problem, came on a bigger plate dressed with happy birthday a some bonus strawberries and chocolate.The lady on Trinity was excellent, great customer services skills, what I asked was no trouble at all which is rare these days, greater with a smile and we all left with one. Thanks guys

Rude and unhelpful staff. Told there's no seating when it's half empty. Told 10 minute wait for any food.

Much improved from my last visit. I had an onion bajee crepe with a great combination of flavours and very filling. Staff great, including holding my meal and tea back as I was still on the way when it was ordered by my wife. Certainly on the list next time I'm nearby and hungry.

Marked down on service, the staff were great but paper menus and they were Dirty.

10 pounds for a waffle with a few tiny pieces of ham. I would have eaten 2 at least to consider it a proper meal costing 10£. It was a waffle and not a crepe as I ordered and it was heated up in a microwave oven. I dont recommend it at all.

I know Janet Harding personally and I can confirm that she is a liar and smells of eggs. I think the service there is excellent and everything i’ve tried is super tasty! Would visit again

Rubbish!!!!! Honestly for a first time in this place we are disapointed got told told it was a 30 min wait ok not a problem! 40 mins passed, noone asked if we was ok could see we was waiting...too then get told sorry your order was missing then took 10 mins! Will not be going back to there noone even come over to say sorry! for the price that is no way as nice as they make out the desserts are not as tasty as it make out eather!!!🙄

Just visited The Crepe & Waffle House. Great crepes and cake. My daughter loved the marshmallows in her babychino and they even made me an oat milk crepe as I’m allergic to dairy and soya! Thank you!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff who were able to help in regard to which items are gluten free. The portions are reasonable too.

I was really disappointed with the quality of food. We ordered pancakes but they were not nice and very rubbery. To me they tasted both gluten and egg free. It was far too expensive for what you got as well. I also don’t think the food hygiene was up to standard. I found a chive on the plate. The cake I ordered also had bits from another cake on it so would not go here if you have allergies due to cross contamination. The crockery was also chipped I’d be really embarrassed if I served someone a plate or cup like this and again not hygienic.

Went there today for an end of holiday treat for my daughter. The place was filthy with no attempt to clean tables, and the only table left was covered in chocolate sauce (so someone had cleared table of plates but failed to notice table needed cleaning). No ability to order 'small' single crepe....only option massive sickly messes. Menu was really difficult to make sense of with random headings. Really terrible

I grab coffee here most days before work and it's great. Really friendly service and a decent coffees.

Absolutely love the waffles and crepes when we have them. Pop in most days for coffee with the dog as the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

I absolutely wanted to love this place and would have been a regular but will not be returning. The glass for the bottomless drink when brought was disgustingly filthy and full of dog hair. I could not believe I had to point out to the waitress that the glass was dirty. Cappuccino was soo cold. The waffles were evidently not fresh and appeared re heated deflated burnt and tasteless. Totally threw £30 for the 2 waffles and drinks down the drain. What a shame.

Staff were friendly enough and it was relatively clean at the tables, however staff hygiene wasn't great- watched them eating whilst cooking and wiping their nose on their hand etc which wasn't pleasant. Food was ok but overpriced e.g. £10 for a waffle which was meant to be Nutella but hardly had any Nutella on mostly a cheap dark chocolate sauce. Was also slightly undercooked and very soggy. Probably wouldn't return.

We visited here today for some breakfast and a coffee. Firstly they have now blocked off the outside area so there is no confusion where to enter. At the entrance is a sign asking you to wait to be seated. We were promptly taken to our table by the staff who was super friendly, told us the table number, the deals on and where to order. £24 for a chick it out, french crepes, lemon and blueberry cake, Americano and a mocha (it was a Friday) which was great value for what we got. Food and drinks were amazing and we would go back! Very much enjoyed our visit here.

A warm welcome. A clean space. Seating was rather harsh until we moved to the comfy chairs. The food was really nice, not 'cheap' though. Vegan crepes available, although it doesn't say so on the menus. I liked that dogs were welcome and also the decor :)

12 euros for two crepes, they can tell me that life has gone up and so on, but that's one thing and another thing is that they try to deceive you. The transparent dough and the Nutella painted with a dropper. If you make me a proper crepe I don't mind paying for it, but I don't feel like being cheap.

Wow ❤️ From the moment I stepped into the restaurant to the moment I left, I was made to feel so welcome. All staff members were friendly and courteous. Trinity was lovely showing us to our table and explaining the process of ordering, Ronnie was friendly when serving and tidying away, Jeremy was funny and made fantastic drinks, Holly provided me with gorgeous food. Thank you to you all made my birthday treat that little bit more special. Really appreciated all your customer service. Will be returning soon

Gluten free waffle was fantastic. They were able to make the Nutella milkshake gluten free also - highly recommended 👌

Horrendous, warmed up chewy waffles and American pancakes. Stale Oreo’s and the cheapest vanilla ice cream I’ve ever tasted. Toilets filthy team didn’t care well like we was a nuisance. Won’t return.

We called in here for a hot chocolate and coffee. The sign said wait to be served but staff were serving at the till. Only 6 people were in the cafe. The only menu visible was the 3 Xmas specials. I asked about crepes and waffles and she dug out a menu . It didn’t clearly mention the combo offers so we declined due to price and just ordered a terrys hot chocolate and a coffee. It then turned out we were already third in the queue to be served and the staff started opening cupboards, and eventually left out of the back of the suite. After 12 minutes and my husbands coffee going cold on the counter, the 2 staff returned with the orange syrup. When I asked what had taken so long, and why they hadn’t told us there was an issue so I could change my order, the young lady stood in front of us making excuses. As they were still not preparing our drinks, now 14 minutes after order, we asked for a refund.

Lovely food and really good customer service. The staff looked after us very well. Recommend the Cinnabun crepe.

We attended today for the Hocus Pocus party. Great event our daughters loved it. The waffle house was great, lots of space, the ambiance was amazing! And of course the food was delicious!! I recommend the fried chicken waffle. The mix of fried chicken with maple syrup and the waffle 😋😋 yum yum!! Unlimited fountain drinks!! Definitely worth the drive from Shrewsbury, most def will be coming back for the waffles!! Highly recommend!!

Totally overpriced and didn’t taste good. Ingredients tasted cheap and everywhere looked a bit dirty. Over £45 for 2 waffles and 2 drinks, more than the classy restaurants. Unfortunately won’t return again.

Tables were dirty, asked several times to have it cleaned, eventually young girl came to clean it but instead of wiping it away from the customer she wiped it all over me. :( The freshest thing on the plate was the lettuce. Suppose to be fresh crepe was at least two days old, ordered chilli chicken mixed with vegetables thought I only had chicken but at the crepe found the vegetables.

I always try to leave a positive review but the attitude of certain members of staff seriously needs addressing. Worrying thing is I think it’s the management as they don’t wear the normal attire. Every time I have visited the same members of staff have been on shift. I will never visit this restaurant again. This place has seriously gone down hill. Dirty tables, dirty menus and staff just standing around doing nothing, I’d be ashamed of the state of the place if I worked there.

WAS SEATED AT A DIRTY TABLE WITH SOMEONE ELSES EMOTY PLATES AND CUTLERY. Seating feels uncomfortable wherever you sit. Service is horrible girls were stropping chewing gum and complaining. Food was poor quality but high price. Not worth it at all. It doesn’t feel like a nice place to be. Wasn’t clean anywhere.

Nothing but friendly vibes at this place!! All of the staff seemed lovely especially a girl called Molly who was happy to help and had the most welcoming smile when me and my friend went in. The service was super efficient and of great quality. Would recommend this place to anyone

Disappointed. Ordered a meal for my family... it was over £50, ok so maybe the food will be worth it along with the service ... Wrong. The food was substandard soggy and not good. Drinks ok i loved the drinks but not enough to warrant the price tag. Kept being attacked by wasps even though i while being at the village I didn't see any others (i was there for 4 hours). Server was miserable as anything as if she didn't want to be there. All seemed rushed off there feet even though we was one of two tables with at least 4 of them working there (working may be the wrong word) Generally did not enjoy and won't be going again.

Food is good. I must agree with the other reviews that the food is overpriced for what you get but other than that it's ok place.

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. Food was served quickly and hot, but not great. Resolving around the theme of serving fillings in crepes, the crepe is best dispensed with as soggy tasteless packaging to the fillings. The fillings were are cut very fine like they are mass produced and tipped into crepes. Problem with wasps coming in. Had to kill one as they seem attracted to sundaes. Average experience at best, pricey for what it was.

Excellent crepes and milkshake every time I've been

I'm usually really positive about the places I visit, but this was a total letdown. Firstly it was raining and we had our dogs with us so we entered via the outdoor seating entrance and took a seat. I went in to order for the family and was left waiting ages to be spoken to as they had clearly been busy. I ordered 3 nutella pancakes, one hot chocolate, one cappuccino, and an orange juice £41!! Maybe it's just me, but that seemed extremely expensive for pretty much 3 pancakes. I was then advised that I shouldn't have seated myself as it was host service only, quizzed about my table number ( despite NONE of the tables outside having numbers on them). Generally made to feel very unwelcome and the fact that there wasn't even a host anywhere to be seen was infuriating. I suggest that if you don't want people entering via the outside space , you block the entrance , see pic. Also, if customers MUST be seated via a host that you actually put some signs up as none were present. None of this will affect me, of course, as we will definitely not be returning! P.s. pancakes were sadly below par.

Fabulous, caring service when I asked about carbs in the crepes and waffles for my grandson with type 1 diabetes. Excellent information from Steph who went out of her way to ensure we could work his insulin. Special thanks for adapting the menu to suit his needs! The boys actually said "This is wonderful!" as they enjoyed their crêpes. Thank you!

Today I made a trip to the waffle house, expecting a normal waffle, but no as we sat down and checked the menu the waffle had gone up by £2 from January to march it was £8, I was expecting a larger waffle due to the price, as it arrived it was barely half a waffle, if you are going to increase the price at least make it bigger, for reference the £8 one was 2x bigger than the £10 one. The prices in this shop are outrageously expensive.

Today I just ordered a waffle and that waffle alone was 10 pounds , already pricy, back in January it used to be 8 pounds for a full waffle. I was expecting a full waffle for 10 pounds, but no I receive literally half a slice of waffle for 10 pounds. The taste was standard though. All prices in that shop aren’t reasonable , except for the 2.50 pound ice cream . If they do put 10 pounds for a waffle at least do a whole one instead of a half waffle.

Wow. 18 June 2033. At 11.52 am. Popped in to have a waffle. I’m so pleased I did. It was absolutely delicious. You just have to try The berry Nutella one. I’d sincerely like to than two lovely waitress’s. Emily and Tillie. They were really nice and very pleasant Thank you ladies.

We made a 1.5 hour drive excited to try the acclaimed breakfast at this Waffle place, only to find it closed for an event upon arrival. There was absolutely no information about this closure on their website, which we'd checked just the night before. When we queried, the staff nonchalantly told us to come back at 12. This was particularly frustrating as our purpose was to enjoy a nice breakfast, not a lunch. The entire experience was incredibly disheartening. Better communication is key, particularly for customers travelling a distance. An update on the website about special events causing closures would have saved us valuable time and unnecessary inconvenience. A breakfast spot with no breakfast isn't much good to anyone.

My second visit here and food is just as good as well as excellent, friendly & quick service.

A lovely cafe to get a bit of food and some drinks. Unfortunately one of drinks was only lukewarm.

Went here on monday £20 for two waffles! Nothing special either.

Terrible experience ordered a coffee, waited 30 minutes then when I asked I had to process ve I had paid for the coffee. Staff talking rather than working, avoid at all costs.

I come here all the time with my toddlers. Today I was server's by a really rude,dismissive girl with mumticoloured hair. Its as if she was being bothered. She was half listening or not listening. I ordered my two items on the go as usual but she started offering me something else. Not sure she charfed me correctly because I had a unsettled child and had to go. I do not appreciate what happened today and I hope its not racially motivated. Extremely irritated! Do better and stop judging people!

It was really good and was excellently delicious! My kids enjoyed it emensly!!

I went a week ago for coffee and waffles and I can't stop thinking about the coffee! I have a massive sweet tooth so I thought the waffle would be the main attraction but the latte just blew me away 😍 I can't wait to go back!

Good venue service and food was nice, but maybe a little overpriced for some items.

Felt a little more like a diner inside but the food was delicious and lots of choice for toppings and ice creams. Had an enjoyable brunch.

the server was amazing and the kitchen made sure my waffle was allergen free, amazing service and atmosphere and I was never made to feel like a pain because of my allergen. paid for extra strawberries on my berry Nutella waffle and it was loaded, would absolutely reccomend because at £9 per waffle it was amazing

Very poor. My waffle was hard and chewy. My coffee luke warm. Staff confused about peanuts.

Friendly staff who seemed happy enough to serve us even though we turned up close to closing time. We enjoyed both our pancakes. Cheese was quite tasty.

Nice tasting waffles, with a touch of cinnamon. Presentation could be improved a little however and took a while for me to get my drink!

The taste and quality of the food was ok, however we have been served a coffee and pudding before main meal.

Table was dirty when seated by the server, however AFTER ordering our food an attempt to clean the table was made. Still, the table was not clean…. Our drinks glass was brought out with dirty marks around the rim so asked if it could be swapped for a clean one. The second glass that was given to us was AGAIN dirty. The chocolate sundae that we ordered was delicious however we did find a white hair in it!!

We really enjoyed this food. I paid £9 for the breakfast crepe which to be honest I felt was a little over priced for what you get as it wasn't hugely filling. Family members have waffles with chicken which they loved and would recommend. I treated myself to a milkybar and raspberry milkshake which was £5.75. unfortunately I was disappointed, it was supposed to be a vanilla shake with choc syrup but it didn't have any taste. I should have said something to them in there but when it was collected she didn't ask how everything was and I just struggled to say oh by the way.... However it was lovely and clean all the staff were super friendly. As there is so much choice at Trentham I perhaps wouldn't go again but if you're feeling flush and fancy something different the food is worth trying out

Very overpriced, I had a basic cheese and tomato crepe as the falafel one was off the menu and this was £8, so not particularly good choice for vegetarians. my son had a chicken and waffle one for £9! Could do with a bit of salad for the price. The online ordering makes it difficult to amend orders and speak to staff, We made a mistake and consequently had to purchase another meal instead of just changing the ham for chicken! The coffee tasted good although again £3.30 for a very small coffee. Sorry we will not be returning.

Absolutely fantastic brunch. The croque one was delicious with added bacon and tomato. The gluten free waffle was great nice and crispy with the right amount of chew. Great prices and nice portion sizes filled us up. Strawberry shake was on point! Ambiance is chill with music being played. Also very friendly staff.

We stopped for these waffles to break up a long journey. They were so delicious! Expensive treat though, £45 for four of us plus drinks. Really nice though

Really nice end to a walk around Trentham Lake. Lovely food, decent price and friendly helpful staff. Ideally located in the shopping village and you can eat inside or outside. Been before and will go again

The food is overpriced for what you get - I got the caprese one and it was so disappointing as it was one off the specials selection menu and for £9 as well - the crepe itself was hard and cold. My friend who was with me got the vegan shake and for the same price as the other standard milkshakes it wasn't as well presented or visually appealing. Overall me and my friends were left disappointed with the food for the price range. However the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Good menu variety. Ok waffle and snugburys ice cream. Friend had a Savoury crepe and said that was really nice and different. Good enough that I'd probably visit again, but not in a rush.

First experience here yesterday and I very much enjoyed it. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice seating area outside too. Dogs welcome inside and out. Very tasty food and extremely quick service. Free refills on the draft pop.

Went on a day out with the family, and the service, respect and food quality was everything you ever dreamed of. Brilliant place. Definitely recommended

Sorry I don't recommend here. The crepes are large and folded over to about quarter of the size. There is NO filling put inside the crepe, meaning this was very dry and tasteless. Only a drizzle of chocolate sauce over the top. I prefer crepes with fillings rather than tiny amount of topping. At £9 I felt it was grossly over priced and didn't taste nice at all. Same I felt for milkshake I was expecting something really special. But tasted like milk with nesquick, topped with squirty cream. Very disappointed won't return.

Menu limited if a warm/hot filled crepe required. Having said that the duck filled crepe was very tasty and could recommend.

The savoury choices are weird but ok.. I had the chicken and bacon on a waffle.. It was ok not great.. I had also ordered the cookies and cream milkshake, which came as in food form not drink. I said that I had ordered the milkshake not what they had brought to the table.. I could smell strange chemical smell.. There are other, better cafés and restaurants at Trentham Gardens to go to..

Food very basic tastless Crepes over priced. Not worth a visit. Coffee cold when food finally arrived after 1/2 an hour.

Visited between Christmas and New year. Although a few things were unavailable (time of year) our server explained what was available and there was Still plenty of choice. Very reasonably priced and beautifully cooked and presented. Staff very welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm Definitely a place to visit .

Visited on Christmas eve had the christmas breakfast crepe. For the price charged I would expect better ingredients than cheap chip shop style sausages.

Lovely food and staff but when we visited service was very slow, we had to ask for spoons and saucers and it was obvious that they were short staffed.

Hate leaving bad reviews but I feel the need to, hopefully it will help them for the future & it's constructive criticism. Popped in today for a drink, we ordered 2 hot drinks sat down and waited, and a group of 4 came in about 5 minutes after we had ordered, they got their hot chocolates and drinks more or less straight away and before we got ours. Then it took a further 10 minutes for us to get our drinks, the reason why? Because the server decided it was better to do our drinks at the same time as another table that came in 3 orders behind us. And bring them out together, I watched her prep the drinks & it took her a while! To do the 2 tables and When they Finnaly came, about 10 minutes later, the drinks were cold! My suggestion to them, please beware of who you should serve first, and then do table by table. It wasn't busy, had 4 tables in so there was no need to do 2 tables drinks at the same time. Unfortunately I won't be going back. Hope you train your staff better for the future.

Web site for ordering at the table has poor UX. Some of the food had spent to long under the lamp imo, nice just overall not great

Ate here this week and the food was good and the milkshakes were good too. The portion size for the breakfast crepes was massive and you definitely get your money's worth. The milkshakes were very enjoyable! We had the brownie and the Frankenstein (I think it was called). Very good and would come again! Also to add: the staff were very friendly and welcoming

Excellent food, reasonable prices, ordered and paid on the app from the table. Good came fast with good portion sizes and delicious.
