This is a conveniently located coffee shop near the tram stop at The Shore. It serves the usual offerings of a cafe of this standard.

Visited the Very pleasant staff kings Rd Portobello branch, close to home. One tea one Americano £7. Tea really nice and coffee ok. Service a bit slow. Sat outside in sun. Would recommend the bins were moved to improve ambiance and fag ends swept up from under the bench. We will visit regularly but wish for quicker service. Hope the business does well.

We've been here several times over the years and always enjoyed it, however, recently the experience has been disappointing. Service has become really poor to the point where it's uncomfortable and food mediocre at best. Watery soup with tiny amount of bread, wraps with half the amount of filling and sad salad leaves. Coffee is nice but there's better places out there that offer better service. Won't be back.

I’ve passed this place a number of times and really liked the look of it, always busy and seemed popular. Headed down for brunch today and was really disappointed. Ordered the French toast but told they no longer do it, so opted for scrambled egg. Took a while to come and alas were an odd texture and completely tastleless. They were done in the microwave and suspect it was powdered egg rather than actual eggs. Seems a real shame as on the menu they state they use local ingredients and the best stuff made with love. This didn’t seem to apply today, staff seemed harassed. Coffee was good which was a saving grace but I won’t be back for food. All in all overpriced and disappointing.

Our Airbnb was just around the corner so we came a couple of times to the Printworks Coffee for lunch as well as grabbed coffees in the mornings. It was always busy and there was lots of staff. At one lunch (July 17/23), we had Cajun Chicken Baguette, Chicken Chorizo Baguettes and Chicken Pesto Baguette. We also had numerous espresso's, latte's and Americano's! At one time, I asked for a receipt and I noticed that I was charged for sit-in instead of take-away so they refunded me the extra money as soon as I mentioned it. I think it was because the staff member was not used to ringing up the orders. We really enjoyed dropping in there!

Was in the area one Saturday morning for work, and after a 6am start, with it being late morning now I was in need of my coffee fix and something to eat. Decided upon the Printworks Coffee as I heard good things about it. For a Saturday morning it was packed, so ordered their breakfast roll and a coffee to go. Prepared in a no time and was very tasty. Staff are very welcoming and will chat with you. If in this area of Edinburgh again in future, I will most certainly pop in here again.

Went for brunch today....decent choice on the menu, order was taken quickly and the food was really good. The prices are also fair. The service though was very poor.... 1. When the food arrived, we weren't asked if we needed any condiments (which I did) 2. When the waitress came to clear the table, she never asked if we enjoyed our food 3. We said thanks when the tables were cleared, and nothing from her 4. We were never asked if we wanted anything else...as the waitress was walking off, I had to ask her if we could have more coffee The waitress herself was dour and just looked like she didn't want to be there. If she is that disinterested in providing a service (apart from providing zero engagement), she should just find another job. I have been a few times before and the service was great, so maybe there has been a change in management and therefore a changed in expectations of the service their staff should be delivering.

Visited for the first time today on a recommendation. Only one girl serving who was clearly new and unsure what she was doing. The coffee came out and was not warm even though I had asked at the counter to make sure the coffee was warm. We asked the girl to get us fresh ones, the guy in charged then stormed out, grabbed it and brought us back the same coffee with clearly some hot water poured in, no apology. We had to ask for the table to be cleared and then our coffee was finished by the time the food came out. This is all very disappointing, really need to try harder.

Me and my flatmate went to go and enjoy a lunch there...little did we know that it would be the complete opposite experience we had prepared ourselves for! Considering the times that we are in, myself and my flatmate politely waited at the door outside as we could see the place was pretty busy. After waiting a minute a waitress comes to open the door and aggressively addresses us with “are you in our out”. Slightly perplexed by this interaction we say we would like to have lunch. She ushers us in and says find a space and sit. As we scan the room we notice the place is full. We both look at the waitress, she just stares back and walks off and leaves us standing like a pair of wet haddocks left in the rain. We are both horrified that she encouraged us to share a table with complete strangers- as I mentioned earlier considering the apprehensive and dangerous times. Also, please take note that this establishment is not large in space, so there would not be a shadow of doubt she knew her place of work was at full capacity. We swiftly left, not impressed and quite upset by the whole ordeal.

Really confusing system they have. We waited for a waitress to come, and then had to ask if we needed to order at the counter, which we did. The sandwiches in the counter window are not what the signs say, so after a long, confusing time of figuring out which sandwiches they did have, my family had already eaten their lunch. Coffee was just okay. The pictures on the wall are totally inappropriate for children to be staring at. So as much as we wanted to like the place, our experience was not one we want to repeat.

It would be easy to overlook Print works, it's situated in an area absolutely saturated with cafes and restaurants, most of which I'd tried before going here. However, this place outshines them all, without exception. Firstly, let's talk about the coffee, oooh the coffee, by far the best I have had anywhere, ever! High praise I know....then there's the food, Print Works, works with local producers and ensures only the freshest, produce and ingredients, and you can really tell. I have soup from here on a regular basis, it is always delicious, and never the same two days running! The panini's are also seriously good. If you're hankering after the sweeter things in life, they have a huge array of cakes and naughty treats, which as yet I have resisted, but have been told by colleagues of mine, that they are also something to behold! Aside from this the staff are absolute sweethearts - They are so friendly and helpful. Get yourselves along people, you won't regret it!

My wife and I went to Printworks (note correct spelling!) Coffee House for lunch on Saturday and shared a delicious antipasti. They didn't have all the veg but gave us extra meat instead, which was a bonus as the meat was delicious as was the pesto and humous which seemed to be homemade.

Во время бранча здесь дают очень вкусные супы дня (один вегетарианский, второй нет), мне очень нравится ролл с фалафелем, неплохой кофе, а в этом районе, наверное, один из лучших. Всегда есть свежие газеты.

I just had their vegan soup for lunch today, called Arabian Nights soup. It caught my eye the moment I read it on the board outside. This is one of the tastiest soups I've ever had. It had a generous lot of vegetables and other amazing ingredients which completely made my day! Please make this kind of vegan soups more often. I make the most of the loyalty cards for the yummiest coffee! I love Print Works :)

Lots of choices between sweet and sour, freshly prepared smoothies and good coffee combined with friendly and quick service. What else can you ask for on a lazy morning? Would recommend it.

A traditional friendly bar. Good choice of beers, spirits and wine. The bar staff are lovely people and make you feel welcome, the locals are friendly too. Enjoyed spending time in there.

Pretty good. Very friendly staff and a nice shop connected to it where you can get fresh fruit and veg. Plenty of options including vegan. Nice options for small children too.

Hubby and I had lunch here on our way to see the castle. The staff were friendly. We sat outside and people watched while eating. You can pay with credit card.

Great music, great cider, the food is as good as vegan food gets if you are into it and still very good if you're not. Nice people
