Gratitude Thai Lounge Bar in Edinburgh, City of

We pre-ordered a takeaway meal for six people around 4pm with a delivery time of 6.20. However, our food didnt turn up till 7.20. And it was by then lukewarm. Communications were non-existant - we didn’t get any online confirmation of our order and could not call the restaurant as their phones just went straight to voicemail. We also never had the courtesy of any response to our voicemails. So we didn’t know whether we would receive our order, worth over £100, or not. We have had great food here but that was a big let down and I doubt we would order from here again.

This was so incredibly disappointing. After starters which were over priced but fine , I ordered one of the chicken stir fry dishes. I have to say it was one of the most tasteless experiences in a restaurant I’d ever had. A few pieces of chicken that looked like it had come out of a packet and a collection of wet steamed / braised vegetables that had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. Nothing Thai about it. I can’t believe I didn’t take it back but we had a film to get to. Really not ok to charge these prices for such inadequate, bland food.

We went to Gratitude Thai Lounge for my husband’s 50th birthday. The extensive gluten free options were a huge draw and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were really friendly and attentive and really helpful in making sure that the dishes came out at spice levels everyone was happy with. The food was plentiful and delicious and it was great to try new dishes that we hadn’t had before. We’d thoroughly recommend and will be back as soon as possible!

This is one of our favourite local restaurants. Really nice people and great food at a good price . The tapas style dishes make a great dinner choice. The wine list is fine.

We spotted this restaurant after the cinema and decided to have dinner. It has a modern vibrant feel about it. The menu offers a great choice. We had the squid and fish cakes to start. I had the green thai curry with aubergine and chicken which was perfectly cooked accompanied with a generous portion of perfectly cooked sticky rice. The service was warm and friendly. So glad we came across this one and will definitely be back.

We were not sure about going to Gratitude because there used to be a favourite Italian restaurant in these Churchill premises. But we were delighted with our eating experience. Firstly, the waitress was elegant and intelligent. She knew how to deal with 4 old timers with fun and courtesy. Then the food. Everyone had something different. Everyone was pleased. My unadventurously chosen Tom Yum soup was perfect. Then my spicy beef fried rice was just as good. The wine was decent and modestly priced. The restaurant is family run, just like its predecessor. It deserves to be very successful.

poor service and very average food I would nor recommend this restaurant to any one expensive small portions

Had a lovely experience at Gratitude Thai Lounge Bar. My friends and I had made a large booking of 14 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks and the friendly and efficient service. Great atmosphere.

Relaxed atmosphere with gorgeous food!! All very reasonably priced for the quality!! Delicious - we will be back!!

We popped in for lunch today. Delicious food and great service. We had Thai fish cakes, chicken satay, Penang curry and a pork curry with delicious authentic sticky rice. We will be back to try some more of the food and the cocktails.

Amazing authentic Thai culinary experience! Service and food was outstanding and the best we have enjoyed in Edinburgh! Catered for complex dietary needs and everything was available to the whole party. Highly recommend!!

Over priced poor quality food. The sticky rice was like something you’d stand on in the street , the red thai curry had poor quality chickens and a thin red curry that was not at all spicey. Another dish was a ginger stir fry that was just appalling . Not very Thai at all and not to be recommended. I have lived in SE Asia and while Edinburgh doesn’t have a lot of great Thai restaurants this is by far the worst .

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in February and ordered from the very good value lunch menu. The restaurant is bright, clean and modern. Lots of space between the tables and a chilled atmosphere. For starters we had the sweetcorn fritters, prawns and lemon chicken and all were hot, tasty, well made and beautifully presented. For mains we had massaman, yellow and Green curries and a tofu pad Thai. Again we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were authentic, tasty and presented beautifully. We enjoyed some prosecco and soft drinks. A lovely touch was that my 3 year old was given a paw patrol plate and some children’s cutlery to eat her food off. A small touch that was appreciated. Great service and we can’t wait to return!

Ordered a takeaway from Gratitude for delivery. 3 starters and 4 main courses plus 2 rice dishes. The food was lovely, but very little of it making this very poor value for money. Hardly any chicken or beef in the containers, just lots of sauce....

We were at Gratitude for a Hogmanay dinner. The staff really go out their way to be extra friendly. Thefood was excellent especially the red curry. Will definitely be back
