Hula Juice Bar and Gallery in Edinburgh, City of

Popped by here for some breakfast during our trip to Edinburgh and for the price we paid , felt it wasn’t value for money . Ordered an Avocado Toast, thin layer of avocado on a toast with lots of green , poached eggs on top cost a fortune btw as extras. Taste was fine but could do with more avocado based on the price paid. Banana Nutella Pancake was good but too much Nutella , an overload of Nutella could have been avoided and a chocolate sauce was just too much for a pancake , advice would be to add a layer of Nutella and a drizzle of sauce and give more on sides OR inform people of this when you are taking the order . Cost upwards of £ 30 for these so definitely not recommended.

Amazing atmosphere in this place. I felt so welcomed by Murray when visiting the café. The acai bowl was delicious, and the juice was great! Huge thanks to Duncan and Murray for the fantastic customer service – you both made my visit extra special in Edinburgh.

I don’t know about food, but it was one of the best matchas in my life!!!

If there's one place to avoid in Grassmarket it's this one. Rarely have I eaten something so bad at such a high price. And what about the wait time for dessert for terrible pancakes. There are much better places in the neighborhood. I don't like leaving bad reviews but it's important given the prices to warn tourists.

The servers were nice but there is a real organizational problem: I have never waited as long to be served as in this restaurant. 60 minutes for ordering just one dish! (And the wait was similar to neighboring tables). As for the dish, it was neither good nor bad but not worth the price.

I love the vibe of this relaxed cafe. The staff were great, the food was delicious and we all enjoyed the decorations and ambience. The menu has great breakfast options (I had the Scottish one) and also wide choice for lunch. I particularly like my big mug of turmeric latte too!!

A place that I 100% recommend if you want delicious healthy food! On the other hand, the price is quite high. Small organizational problem at the service level but nothing serious, the experience remains good. I recommend.

Falafel bowl was very dry and the quinoa was very clumpy. The whole bowl came out very cold when you’d expect some of the ingredients to be freshly cooked and the vegetables a bit slimy because of it. I left hungry because I couldn’t finish it, and it was one of the more expensive things on the menu

Muy mala experiencia. Fui allí el viernes por la mañana. Tardaron unos 5 minutos en sentarnos, simplemente se quedaron allí en la puerta como un limón, alguien estaba trabajando detrás del mostrador haciendo cafés, pero estaban evitando estudiosamente el contacto visual con nosotros. No - uno incluso dijo ‘nosotros te sentamos en un momento’ o algo así. Cuando finalmente nos sentamos, fuimos ignorados. La gente vino tras nosotros y nos atendieron. Eventualmente nos fuimos - nadie - trató de detenernos o disculparse al salir. Presuma que no tenían suficiente personal, pero fue una experiencia muy pobre. No recomendaría.

Had the most amazing blueberry matcha, and great toast (gluten free option) that was very tasty. Such friendly staff.

The staff were nice, however, the açaí bowl was way too small for 12.99£. It was definitely not the best either, the granola had a burnt bitter taste and the açaí tasted flavorless. If you’re visiting the city and have limited time, i wouldn’t recommend.

A fashionable place with healthy, fashionable food. Expensive and so-so portions. Overall, it's more for Instagram than to actually eat. The staff does their best, but there is a long waiting time first for a table, then for the order and then for the food.

In a very touristy location but way better food than you might expect. Really good ingredients, generous portions and excellent cooking. Get there at opening time for breakfast though. I had one of the best eggs Benedict with a large portion of haggis and my partner's porridge with date and cinnamon mascarpone was both a work of art and delicious.

We came here for the final breakfast of a mini break. We were sent over from scran who recommended Hula for allergens. The breakfasts were overpriced and painfully mediocre. I massively resented paying £40 for 2 blah coffees, and 2 plates of avocado toast, one of which was on the crapest gluten free bread available. Sorry Hula, maybe we ordered wrong but really not worth it.

Everything about this place is perfect! The food is tasty, the ambiance is lovely, and the staff is incredibly kind. Definitely worth a visit

Bacon pancake had an excessive bitterness. In my opinion, it didn't taste good at all. I couldn't even finish it. When I went there, only a table for 4 people was empty, and the man working there said that he would have to remove me if a large group came. So I ate my breakfast nervously and got up immediately.

They got my order completely wrong. The guy who took my order didn’t speak English very well. I asked for extra crispy bacon on my eggs benedict and he gave me extra undercooked bacon on the side. I also asked for an iced matcha and they gave me an iced mocha.

One of the best cafes you can visit in Edinburgh. Nice and comfy environment. The Dishes and coffee were too good.

The food here is fabulous. We were seated promptly, even though it was very busy inside. The staff were kind and helpful, very quick to serve food and drinks. The atmosphere is cosy inside. I would recommend Hula to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

The food was okay but looks a lot better than it tastes. There isn’t a visible sign to wait to be seated so as it’s a cafe we went to just sit down the guy snapped at us, not an issue having to be seated but he made us uncomfortable with how he scolded us (should of left then) This was then the theme of the cafe very pretentious, music so loud I couldn’t hear anyone on the table and poor service. Our drinks came out way after our food As a whole as a regular to Edinburgh always staying in grassmarket I would never go here again

Got breakfast here, seems to be very popular as you can tell from the other amazing reviews left. Has a lengthy menu with tried and true recipes. Waiters know the menu well and is a great spot for breakfast in Edinburgh. I got the açai bowl, my first ever and it lived up to all the raving I have heard about it. Partner got the apple cinnamon pancakes which were very filling and indulgent. This place has something for everyone I believe.

My daughter and I had a wonderful Sunday breakfast at Hula, enjoying both the delicious, wholesome food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Ricky and Cara were absolutely lovely, and the smoothies were simply amazing!

Fantastic food and great coffee. Healthy, interesting and tasty. First time we visited it was uber busy, 2nd visit was a weekday with great service. I had a smoothy bowl and found it sublime, one of the best breakfast bowls I've ever had. My wife loved her coffee and Avo on toast. Recommended, wish it was local to me!

Such a cute and fun cafe tucked away at the bottom of Victoria St / Grassmarket. Food and service was lovely and so fast. Also Ricky was even sweeter than the biscoff coffee. Definitely recommend and hope to come back on our next trip !!

Lovely place to eat brunch- busy on a Saturday but totally worth a slight wait (25 minutes) for food. We had avocado on sourdough, an acaí bowl and cinnamon apple pancakes. Absolutely spot on! Student discount of 20% helps too!

The staff was so lovely but the food was just underwhelming. Pancakes were drowned in nutella, and the eggs benedict had only a small amount of watery hollandaise sauce with only little taste and came on a basic single slice of bread. Coffee and juice was good.

I realise that the prime location of this Hula adds to the price, but nearly £14 for a very small bowl of falafel and salad with an overly sweet dressing was rather disappointing. Nice service and latte, but I won't be back.

I will dream of this apple porridge the rest of my life! It was so good. My husband got the avocado toast and he quite liked it. The staff was very friendly.

I ordered 2 different coffees, both were disgustingly sour, I also had a fruit smoothie and only that one was good. I won't be back.

Friendly, staff, great location, average food. Eggs benedict was overcooked, squash salad was salty, but the soup was pretty decent. Basically, if you want to eat healthy but not too healthy, give it a go. But if you're into high quality, healthy food, give it a miss.

It’s a charming place with varied offerings on the table. The dishes are homemade as well as the fruit juices, they are freshly mixed. We were happy with the meal which was quite generous. However, the service is quite long and the door does not close by itself each time a new customer enters, we had to get up to close it because we had all the cold air from outside, which is quite unpleasant.

Ein hübsches kleines Café mit super freundlichem Personal und vielen veganen Optionen! Das Essen war lecker und schön angerichtet, für uns persönlich aber kein Highlight. Insgesamt trotzdem empfehlenswert!

We stopped in for a biscoff latte and a pink lady juice. Can't comment on the taste of the food but everything coming out for others looked delicious. Service was brilliant. Very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely warm atmosphere in the place.

We were seated in an empty room and no one visited for an half an hour. When we asked to be reseated the server was extremely rude.

Came to Hula last year and it’s the first place I had to come back to when back in Edinburgh! The staff are so friendly, I asked for frozen yoghurt in a cup which wasn’t even on the menu and they went out of their way! Will be back everytime, highly recommend 😃😃

Everything is amazing in this place. They have a fantastic soup of the day when I went (Curried caluflower and garden pea), they are really friendly and kind Hayram was really helpful and I even got the soups recipe. I simply love this place. When we were in Edinburgh 7 years ago, we also had a lovely lunch here. So when we were looking for a place to have breakfast this year, Hula popped up and we didn't hesitate. They have fantastic ánd healthy options here. The people working there are very friendly. We went for the avocado toast and the avocado/salmon toast and we had three different smoothies. All great and tasteful! I'm already looking forward for having another breakfast on our last day this holiday!

The best breakfast in Edinburgh! My friend recommended it to me and I'm so happy we tried it, this was hands down our best food experience in Edinburgh. We had two different lattes, two juices, a porridge, an acai bowl, a bacon sandwich and eggs on toast (on the picture) and everything was delicious! If you want quality and fresh breakfast/brunch you should definitely come here 🤗

L'endroit est assez petit, des tables majoritairement de deux, mais une fois placés le service est rapide et aimable. La nourriture est basique mais de bon goût, ce qui était le but recherché...

Amazing place to eat both vegan and non-vegan food in Edinburgh. Great location near Grassmarket on Victoria Street. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is perfect. Very little wait time - no reservation needed. Try the vegan hazelnut brownie (delicious for vegans and non-vegans alike)!

Very nice place to have breakfast, staff were incredibly nice and my friend even got to taste test a new drink they were trying out. We had the apple porridge and the avocado toast, both really tasty! The avocado toast seemed a bit small for the price tho tbh. We'll definitely come back next time we're here.

Came here with my friend who was visiting me for our acai bowls!! so so incredible, amazing portion, variety of toppings and overall experience. beautifully decorated place and the delightful owner ( riccardo!!) was so accomodating and lovely. truly amazing place i’d really recommend. riccardo laughed when he saw me and my friend scream when we saw victoria street and asked if we wanted to come in for breakfast.. like duh we went on a 20 minute trek to get our acai bowls here!!! ☺️💓

Very nice food, huge crush on the cinnamon latte (so tasty and full of flavor) and the egg of Benedict with bacon & mushrooms were excellent. My friend really loved her avocado toast so it’s a full success! Bonus point for the welcoming team working there. Highly recommended!

Gemma and Ricardo were super friendly with their service and the drinks were fab. Great reminder why independent cafes are better to support than the chains. Will be back every day of our trip.
