This was our local and we felt welcomed as a family until this month. Typically we went once or twice a week to get out of the house and spend time together as a family. Sadly, we were made to feel unwelcome yesterday. Our three year old moved around in the pub for approximately 90 seconds, with me supervising him and within arm's reach. A member of staff approached me and said the child couldn't do that and made a further comment about how I had dressed my child. I should say that we immediately complied with the request and then left. It was not busy in the pub at the time, and we always came for about an hour and then left. Parents and children should be welcomed in public, and it is very rare that someone is in the right to comment on how a parent chooses to rear (and especially dress) their child. To preempt a response about health and safety, ultimately it is my responsibility to ensure these for my child and I was supervising him closely, and the movement was under two minutes total. When we've gone in the past to this pub, people were interested to speak to us and our child and generally our child was quiet or doing normal toddler things like talking to us and others. Children act like children, and that's and important part of places that can build community such as local pubs. If childlike behaviour is unwelcome, please put up a sign saying "children are not welcome" and be done with it. We will be avoiding this pub from now on.

First time here, nice enough pub with plenty of Tv's a good selection of beer and a good sized garden with umbrellas and heaters for the smokers, was also quite busy on a Thursday which is always a good sign and if i am honest, if our group hadnt eaten i would have given 4 stars but the food was a real let down. Our group orrdered 2 steak pie and chips but both came with mash and watery gravy the mash on one plate was twice the size of the other and one was cold and the pie was bland and burnt at the base, 2 Southern fried chicken burgers and chips, both chickens were over cooked and chips were soggy, plain burger and chips which came out as a cheese burger and chips with burgers that look like they had come straight out the packet and soggy chips, fish and chips which came out as burger and chips and chicken wings which were overdone and barely edible...they did correct the burger and the fish and chips to the correct order.Yes the pub was busy but this is basic food and it took so longfor it to arrive most people didnt bother complaining they just ate what they could and left.

Booked a table for some work colleagues and myself for drinks a week in advance, all confirmed then turned up on the night and the short, older guy with a strong Irish accent behind the bar said they didn't have my booking... but they had a spare table at the back of the restaurant... So he took me to the table and it was literally at the back of the restaurant. Forgotten about. So I went to order my drinks at the bar and asked for a drinks menu to which the same man said "we don't have one..only one for cocktails." Now, I have worked 10+ years in Hospitality and that is literally un heard of. They're basically making up their prices on the spot!! I reluctantly ordered a bottle of house white which cost me £30!!! Absolutely disgusting price for a house wine. I don't know who has taken over this establishment but it's not a positive change at all. I also noticed a hell of alot gnats about.. Will not be returning.

I had herd fantastic reviews on this place but sadly i did not get the same. The food was reasonable but couldn't hold a candle to the near bye pubs. There was a nice selection of beer but the bar team seemed distracted and and used some choice words. Not something a child should hear most certainly. This turned out to not be a problems as we were promptly asked to leave as there are no children after 7pm.

Been going to this pub for 18 years. Complained, recently, that my brother and his girlfriend, who both had proof that they are over 18, were refused service and asked to leave. Challenge 21 was given as the reason. Challenge 21 means challenging those who look under 21 to prove that they are over 18. In the absence of legal restrictions, age is a protected characteristic in the same way as race, sex, sexuality etc. Went in, today, to get a birthday lunch for a friend. Not pleased with the place but it's my nearest pub and I can't walk far. Landlord informed me I'm barred, as I complained on the earlier occasion, about the pub's poor treatment of my brother and his girlfriend. My brother was and remains convinced that they were refused due to racism. I am inclined to believe that the landlord is rude and unpleasant, but not necessarily racist. Don't go until it changes hands!

I am speaking on the behalf on my friends. They both went to the pub yesterday but were told to leave by the staff because of the "21+ policy". From what I was told, there were other people that were under 21 and were drinking but weren't told to leave. I searched up prince of wales, surbiton to see if there was a 21+ policy but couldn't find anything. Most pubs allow 18+ to enter and allow under 18's as long as they're not drinking and supervised by an adult. If there actually isn't a 21+ policy I wonder if there was an ulterior motive as to why they were sent away.

Wednesday evening 10th August we were staying the night in Tolworth, walking along Ewell Road into Surbiton and we stopped here for a drink. Many years ago we lived in the area and drank in here now and again, so really a bit of a trip down memory lane. Not much seemed have changed, there was a mixed array of seating, stools, chairs, benches and small little booths around the place. There was additional seating along the side of the pub towards the back. As it was a warm summer evening some people were sitting out the front on the benches. A football match was been shown on screens around the bar. We ordered our two drinks, a pint of Heineken £5.40 and a pint of Pride 4.70, the total for the £10.10. Not much may have changed with the pub but the prices had certainly shot up, ouch well expensive. We sat at a table, indoors near the bar, so we couldn't help noticing one of the guys working behind the bar was constantly touching and picking at spots on his facing then serving customers without washing his hands. We did not stay for another drink.

I just came from the prince of Wales pub in Surbiton/ tolwoth. I have had 2 pints of Guinness which where my 2nd and 3rd drink of the night. Last orders were called which were served by a friendly guy with long hair. It's not a bad pint so I can see they take care of their pipes. Unfortunately, about 10 minutes later I was told the doors were closing and it was time to leave.. "you can drink your drink or take a plastic cup but you're leaving" were the words. Now I don't mind being told to drink up and leave, that's fair. I DO mind being spoken to like I'm causing inconvenience by being a customer. I asked to speak to a manager.. I was told that the lady who had unceremoniously told me that I can down it or take a plastic cup WAS the manager.. I wouldnt recommend prince of Wales, they don't want your custom.

Sister in law pre booked booked a table for my mother in law's Birthday and Mother's day lunch. As we walked through the door we were hit by the most awful smell of what I can only describe as a cross between an old people home and a men's loo. Did cross my mind whether the same mop for the gents had been used for the rest of the pub?If we had a Meens of contacting the rest of our party( they had no mobiles) I would of walked back out the door. We were then seated opposite the women's loo which smelt like the loos were backing up. There was only one of the 2 women's loos that worked the other was out of order.By the time the rest of our party had arrived we were able to remove our hands from our noses as we had finally got used to the smell without gagging. The waiters/ waitresses were all very lovely. The food was lovely, we even ordered other than off the Mother's Day menu for a very fussy pre teen who only wanted a burger.Everybody loved and ate all the food. The glass of Prosecco was lovely as was the presents all the mums received. It was just the smell now we are back home we can still smell it on our clothes and hair.So sorry for such a bad review as everything was so nice other than the smell

My main course arrived followed several minutes later by my starter. (After persueing the poor staff member who was extremely embarrassed) The food was not properly heated and was not nice. This was our Staff Christmas party evening out on a Monday night. The room was very nice and ideal for a party. However, the food was the problem. The service was slow, courses arriving on cold plates at varying times. Long delays in delivering the vegetables to go with the main course. The soup was served lukewarm and two beef main course meals were inedible and sent back. A replacement was offered but impracticable, not least as they arrived much later after other meals.

Have only started coming here in the last 6 months. Came once before it was refurbished and wasn't that keen. A chance visit has now seen us back on numerous occasions. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits and really good food...portions are more than generous.

Have been a customer since before the refurb so have witnessed the evolution. I am/was a regular visitor either on my own for a quick one on way home or with friends in the beer garden. The refurb is in line with other Fullers pubs' gentrification. Good - refreshed decor, more choice of drinks, more choice of foodBad - prices up, faux gastropub food (nothing special but it's served on a chopping board). Lot's of adjectives on the menu to justify selling things like mac cheese for over a tenner.Immediately after the refurb, the pub experienced a boom and was v popular with a diverse set of people. Unfortunately, over the last year, the management has changed several times and the current team are weak. This is a continuation of a downward trend.Certain customers have taken over the pub. I have witnessed fights, intimidation, and harassment from some customers to others. The management's reaponse is 'I'll have a word' but they never do, probably because they are affraid to.I fear for a pub when a small group of customers take over. The management should be concerned with ensuring that ALL customers have a good experience but they do not seem to care. Despite the pub being my nearest and the ability to sit outside and have a drink in the beer garden is tempting, I have decided not to visit anymore. It's a shame. I hope to hear by word of mouth that this pub has turned it around someday. It needs to.

Exceptional pub food. The menu is not extraordinary but what was so good was the quality and care with which it was prepared and presented. Tasty salt and pepper calamari and a great sausage baguette sandwich with red onions. All served with informal professionalism . And a great pub garden to sit in. Attentive. Professional. Friendly. Most importantly quality. What's not to like?! A pub that does pub (and pub food) the way it should be.

This place has been spruced up since I last went and the decor is very nice and welcoming. There are also a good selection of bitters and lagers, with some seasonal and special ones too. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on that.

When I was a child it was illegal for me to be in a pub, and rightly so. What was supposed to be some lovely early evening drinks with friends was ruined by kids running around and parents refusing to control them, as they were too busy drinking. The management refused to do anything about it. There is a time and place for kids, and public house isn't one of them.

Nice but not special British pub . Benefit for us that evening was it is very close to Hampton Court Palace, so if you like to sit and eat rather than the picnic experience then this pub is fine. The haddock was really good but chips too greasy, cost the standard £12.95 as in most places in the area. Overall, good.

After searching many pubs for a friendly place to hold our engagement party, on meeting the manger Simon we did not hesitate to celebrate our engagement here, nothing was to much trouble, after organising dates etc we went along to one of their themed nights, great food great customer service couldn't fault this really, decided to go for a Sunday dinner, once again great all round. As for our party it went well nothing to complain about nothing was to much trouble and where accommodating.Simon and Jimmy who run things are so charming and warming, we have decided to now make this our regular place to drink and have great quality food with lovely pair of guys.

Enjoyed a nice few hours in this pub with a Sunday roast and a free drink. Our 3 year old child came with us and he liked his sausages and mash as well. Looking forward to going in Summer when it is warmer and we can sit in the garden.

Living close to the Prince of Wales, we visit fairly regularly. We love popping in for a quick drink and have spent many a Sunday afternoon on it's sofas. Friendly bar staff, nice interior design, reasonably priced drinks. The food is not amazing however we do not tend to eat there. The garden could do with some work but the inside is lovely.

Came here whilst visiting friends and we were very disappointed. To cut a long story short, the atmosphere and our waitress were the only good thing about it. The food was so overpriced for what we got. My salmon was absolutely tasteless and my husbands steak was about £20, was overcooked and only came with a few measly chips. Rubbish.

Ok let's start with the positives this pub is great for a chat and meeting up with friends or even catch the sport. Good food and staff pretty good . But please stay clear on NYE if you want a bit of a dance and catch some music .. I went with friends and Football was on in the back ground and the music was on but it was music form what era God only knows. It would have been so much nicer to have the countdown music from the radio with past and current music to suit all ages . We ask but was refused the person in charge wasn't interested or could be bothered . Food was laid on but the money spent would have been better spent on something else like a glass of sparkly at midnight ... I won't be joining in NYE celebrations there again in a hurry ....

Only had a roast dinner there which was not very good.meat was chewy, gravy watery thin and very poor quality vegetables. Use this place for drinks which is fine.lots of children running round inside the pub..now there is no football to watch there as Fullers pubs have cancelled their contract with Sky.

My boyfriend and I often visit this pub on a Sunday afternoon and share a platter of "small plates" and have a couple of drinks. It's become our favourite pub since Fullers invested some much needed money in to it's refurbishment. The staff are friendly and always recognise you when you visit, the ales on tap change often which really pleases my other half and the wine is cold and crisp (fridges are clearly kept at the perfect temperature)Venison sausages and the onion rings are yummy and I can honestly say we've never tried anything we haven't enjoyed. It's a great place for the football and hopefully the outside TV will be back up in the beer garden before long so I don't have to fall out with my other half over the choice between sitting in the sun or getting to watch the match!

We popped in for a drink on Friday afternoon, and we're taken by the atmosphere of the place. There were families, Mums with children, and some older folk too.We were visiting friends nearby, and discovered later that they had booked this Fullers pub for Sunday lunch, so were delighted that we were joining them there. Lunchtime was quiet, but we had gone early, so it may have got busier later. The tv was on showing sport, but the sound was off, so it was not intrusive. Lunch was very tasty, and the portions were sufficient, if not enormous. Roast Beef was the most expensive option but for the quality was still reasonable value. It looks to have been renovated recently, and everywhere was clean. Staff were approachable and friendly, and I am looking forward to my next visit.

After visiting the Prince of Wales for drinks and Sunday lunch previously we decided to take the parents (inlaws) for sunday lunch today. The only roast left was beef which was fine as this is what we wanted however we couldn't have been more disappointed when the meals arrived. The meal consisted of what seemed like the last bits of beef (it was 3pm) accompanied by a limp Yorkshire pudding, 3 tiny broccoli florets, thinly sliced carrots and 3 (tiny) halves of roasted potato. We were shocked and actually quite embarrassed by the portion size. In no way are we greedy however the £13.95 charged was an insult. We mentioned this to the server who actually agreed that the portions were very small. After some negotiating we had one of the meals taken off the bill however it was unfortunate that the manager couldn't find time to speak to us. Sorry to say we won't be returning and the experience spoilt our day with our parents who had come to visit.

The staff are amazing, the food is great and it's a cosy place to chill! Love this pub. I go retry much on a weekly basis and they don't even mind mine and my friends babies and buggies. The staff are always happy to help and are super friendly.

Located a short distance from Richmond Park kingston Gate. This pub is extremely tired with uncomfortable seating. Prices of beer are much higher than normal. Staff only seemed interested In the regulars not first time customers like us. From our experience give the Park Tavern a wide berth

Beer was shocking very flat and tasted funny, place is very quiet for a Saturday is a shame as it use to be good when it was a hungry horse.

A lot of Very rude male staff. not a kid friendly place to stay. Front desk male staff who assisted checking out had a know-it-all atittude. Big male staff wearing coat in the dining hall was loud, strong and unkind to my kid. Even threatened to put my kid in a dark room. The waiter during the wedding we attended banged the wine bottle on our table for no reason. All female staff were kind and nice. Very POOR Customer service from MALE STAFF. Place was very nice but because of the experience from the staff and big man wearing coat our stay became a nightmare.
