Saag paneer was an absolute disaster! The paneer was very sour and there was hardly any saag in it!! Malai kofte were only dumplings of flour and very hard and they are actually meant to be very soft - not happy at all 🙅‍♀️

Food was hot fresh and on time. Food was like restaurant quality at home 100% recommend. Sauce was like it should be not blended like baby food.

Best Indian cuisine in Caerleon. Forget the fine dining nonsense, I'm talking about the food. It's quality, and the owner is a nice bloke aswell. Would recommend over any other in the area if you want a takeaway.

I ordered Chicken Tikka Passanda (mild) and it was a sort of pinky orange soup that had slices of chicken in it and about 20 tablespoons of sugar. Inedible and was thrown away. I sampled the choices of the rest of my family and one was equally overly sweet. The consistency of all the curries looked as if they had gone through the blender and then had some meat or prawn chucked into the 'soup'. The 'king' prawns in the vindaloo were more like economy small prawns. I'm sorry to say it was the worst Indian we've ever tasted. Astonished to see the good reviews. Perhaps there is a new cook this week? (Or maybe they just bought in some jars from ASDA?)

Fantastic taste and quality once again. Honestly can't fault the food or service, both are consistently outstanding!! Big thumbs up for the super polite and friendly delivery driver.

Extremely rude staff. Pre ordered at 2.30 for delivery at 6.30. At 7 we called to chase the food, delivery driver was late but the food was on its way! 7.30 and the driver is still on the way. 8 and the driver has broken down, I said I would collect the food he didn’t know how to use his phone to send me the location. Then got very rude. When we contacted the restaurant to tell them the driver had broken down he kept saying it was out of his control. 8.30 on Christmas Eve and we are without food. Will never use them again- worst experience and customer service

Wasn't very good to be honest curry leaked out everywhere the remainder of what was left wasent all that good either and the rice was very dry and wasent very nice mint sause tasted like toothpaste overall i dident really enjoy it and wouldn't order again

Delivery arrived before the specified time, which was good. Unfortunately, this was a very average meal, so I shall not be returning here again. Very little flavour and many things just tasted the same.

Tried the Old Style Madras after reading your reviews and it tasted great. The Lamb Tikka Jalfrezi was a different flavour but in a good way. The Jalfrezi itself was saucy but I think it should be thicker with more onions, peppers, tomatoes and green chillies. What would further enhance that dish is the addition of red peppers to give it more depth. Other than that, a very nice meal. Well done for your efforts...will be ordering again!

Masala was way too sweet, prawns were like rubber, and the chicken was incredibly salty, the sauce and rice for the byriani was descent. Arrived online and was hot. Probably won't be ordering again.

Tastiest curry on just eat. They actually read comments and adjust orders to suit. Old style madras is the one. Spicy as but super tasty. Egg fried rice is delicious on its own. And I don't usually like mint sauce or leave reveiws but credit when due. Proper bangin

First time I have ordered from The Prince of Caerleon and it definitely will not be the last. Food arrived on time, piping hot and the quality and flavours were absolutely blinding! I must give a mention to the delivery driver also, he was probably the most polite, friendly and professional delivery driver I have ever had!!! Honestly can't recommend this place enough and if I could give them a 10 star review, I wouldn't hesitate. Keep up the great work!! Awesome job!!

The Prince has been closed for some time. This is our first dinner, and it was as good as ever. Best in Newport

Ordered the two vegan curries and they were both really nice. Good flavours and was overall impressed. It was nice to try something different, the potato dumplings were really nice (never knew this was a thing!) Would order again. Delivery driver was super nice too!

The rice was very oily, aloo gobi was extremely watery as if it had been premade then frozened and not preheated properly. The Lamb sag was very tough and chewy and had a very earthy taste and chicken rogan was extremely tomatoie and for some reason didn't have much taste. The wife and I didn't have a good night. Feeling very drained.

I have had in excess of 500 take aways from Prince Of Caerleon. For what it is worth I would say that over 90% have been excellent and I have thoroughly enjoyed them. I recently tried a few other places but they simply don't compare. I will continue to be a loyal customer for as long at they trade.

I love this place. I was studying abroad at University of Wales when I found this takeaway shop. I would eat here at least twice a month. The amount of food would last me days. No Indian food in USA tastes the same. I miss this place.

I recommend this restaurant very reliable and tasty. I ordered a chicken vindaloo it was amazing. T he people that are writing bad reviews have tasted the food wrong or their taste buds don't work.

Always a reliable meal with great service. The menu is very good and the curries on offer are great. Prices are competitive and good value for money as you get a good sized portion. Orders are handled quickly and you don’t have to wait too long, even during busy periods. Naan breads particularly are better than most I have previously ordered elsewhere. Easily the most reliable takeaway and really helpful staff.

Though other takeaways have opened in Caerleon, the Prince is still the best Indian, with a good range of rices, curries, and quality naan bread. The staff are always friendly. Sometime at peak busy times the food can take longer but is it always hot and well prepared when you collect.

Was initially given time of 15 mins after ordering in shop and was collecting. I returned at about 25 mins after running a few errands and waited for 10-15 more. When I questioned the assistant he attempted to justify that he said 50 mins. When I reminded him that our discussion contained the words ONE FIVE he went a bit sheepish but still tried to deny. However at 1 hour 25 mins I finally received my food but with no apology no extra poppadum etc, just simply passed the bag. Absolutely shocking. However I believe in being fair. I stopped using this place 3 years ago because of a bad meal but decided to try again as my normal one has recently closed. I have to be honest and say that we had a couple of different starters and main courses and it was a cracking meal. However do not plan around their timings or manners.

Great Lamb saag. Great naan breads. Ordered the night of the Tyson fury fight and they still got it to us within an hour and a half

Despicable, disappointing and curries not made in a way that is expected of a curry house. Party of 8 and none of us could eat what was ordered. Chicken tikka pathia, certainly not a pathia. Naan breads, not cooked and full of soggy dough. All curries looked and tasted the same. Extremely disappointing and didn’t deserve a £1 of the £40 spent. Avoid like the plague!

Nice curries made promptly. I particularly liked the murgi masala. Very tasty and a generous portion. During the day this restaurant looks abandoned only to rise in the evenings. I recommend this place.

We ordered a meal for delivery on Saturday evening. The chicken razalla that was ordered had no chicken, only mince meat and was absolutely so incredibly salty it was inedible. I couldn't finish my meal and it was thrown away. What a waste!! It's not the first time I've had a poor quality meal, which is a shame as in the past the food has been great. Will never be calling again- menu is in the bin!!

What a gem of a place. This modest little takeaway produces top notch Indian cuisine. Being a touring musician, I've had the pleasure of dining at many an Indian Restaurant and this place really does match up. Recommend the Murgh Mushroom Bhagar.

I've been around some curry houses, mainly because I travel a great deal and I have a weakness for a good curry. First of all this isn't a restaurant it is a take away and a great offer is to go and order then go for a pint and he'll come and get you when it's ready! On entering the smell of spice is exactly what you would get in India, I've been to Northern India and I know how these kitchens work, this is totally authentic, no surprises here for me! The most important thing is the food. It is exceptional, we have been here several times now and every dish was superb. The biryani is the best I have ever tasted the rice is excellently fused with spices and tastes out of this world. The madras is the tastiest I've had, not too hot and the lamb was as tender anything I've tasted. The mixed tandoori has good quality meat and is cooked to perfection and the dupiaza was delicious. Thoroughly recommended!

We ordered makhani and received korma, advised them and they argued with me. Korma was very bland. Hit and miss on previous orders too, will not be using again!

I have used this place and I found the staff poor and food average, I gave it a second chance, the place was dirty, staff smoking, and I would not recommend.

I say the chef must have had either an off day, or a day off. Ordered a vindaloo and got a bland watery soup! Usually they are pretty good.

I have been going here for years and have always enjoyed their food. Always consistant in quality, frendly and helpful staff and above all great food. If your family are choosy on what they eat tell the chefs and they will make it just the way you want it. You must try it.
