Prezzo - Oxford in Oxford

In Oxford for a few days holiday. Visited this Prezzo on first night as close to hotel. As a chain restaurant on a Monday night had low expectations but fancied pizza. From the off the experience was first class. The service was attentive and efficient (restaurants are finding this difficult post covid with new staff). Well done Liley. Every morsel of food arriving at the table hit the mark. Piping hot and tasty. My Calzone was pure theatre drawing looks from other tables and a passer by, exclaiming a wow that looks good. Keep it up Prezzo Oxford and give the staff a bonus.

Booked in advance for an evening meal. Quite busy when we arrived. Had a very large portion of calamari extremely tender. Beef ragu arancini was delightful. The mackerel was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately I never got to finish my smoked salmon penne as I developed a sudden migraine. What I tasted was good though. The manager came over to see if there was anything wrong with the food as my main was basically untouched. He was very understanding and concerned. Would like to go again and actually finish the meal.

Poor. Food was mixed, the aubergine parmigiana was terrible, watery and tasteless. Staff looked like they’d prefer to be somewhere else, especially the lead manager some staff messing about behind the counter and not available- one waitress threw plates etc at us. We were charged for chilli flakes so check your bill. Really poor meal and disappointing for a family treat.

Great food and friendly helpful staff. Called in without a booking it was early so we got a table. I don’t eat cheese so asked for a spicy calzone without cheese it was amazing the Margherita pizza and garlic bread were also great and fresh. I’d recently joined the Prezzo mailing list so got a free bottle of Prosecco. Keep up the good work.

Great service even though it was clearly very busy and understaffed. But it didn’t retract from the prompt service and good lunch. Kids meals are excellent value and a good size and quality and the Calzone was perfect!

I went in for a quick meal with 3 other friends as other restaurants were booked up and had plans for a date night. It was surprisingly quiet, especially considering how busy other restaurants we had checked out were, but that may have been due to their location. Our server was friendly and understood our situation, recommending which food was best to order if we were in a hurry. Both men's and woman's toilets were out of order, so only the disabled toilets were available to use. Our food came quickly and was nothing to be sneezed at. The ambience was nice too.

A comfortable restaurant in a great location within the castle walls. The ambience is nice, and the staff is friendly. The food is just OK. The bean and vegetable soup probably would have been quite tasty, but it was about 20% too salty. The chicken marsala was in a pleasant sauce, but the chicken itself had been grilled to within an inch of its life and was dry and burnt-tasting. My dining partner enjoyed the fish but reported it to be overcooked as well. Service was pleasant but slow because there was only one server for the entire room at dinner time. Overall, this is a pass for me the next time I am in town.

I went to use the upstairs toilet, no toilet paper, the sink was cracked and unclean and round the floor was pretty awful so I went to the toilets downstairs. It was pretty smelly down there, there appeared to be no air circulating and two of the toilets had not been flushed (poor behaviour by customers but still they should be checked). Held off and went to M&S nearby. I hope the kitchens are cleaner!

It was my first restaurant in UK! I reamember this amazing plants on a walls and smell of history! Yes, yes! Because it placed exactly near Castle! Maybe before kings and queens had lunch in this area... Who knows.. In anyway... My first impression was very good. Waitress was friendly. Food was tasty and healthy. I don't reamember the name of salat, but I reamember that dressing was really interesting. I like everything uniq. So this restaurant surprised me! Big compliment for shief! Thank you for everything.

Ordered food to be delivered. Took my order and i paid. I was called back a short while after by a male member off staff who was apologetic telling me they had no gluten free pasta. I asked about refund and was told to take it up with Just eat. Could not get hold of Just eat so called back and was greeted by a female who claimed her name was Anna. Very very rude! Told to call back when the manager is there. I asked the managers name and "Anna" refused to give me the name. No explanation given and when i asked why she was refusing to give the managers name she said yes im refusing and then hung up the phone!! Horrible rude unsympathetic woman! If she treats customers like this she needs training or sacked. VILE

Absolutely amazing service!! Had such a lovely evening and Will was so lovely and made us feel very well looked after!!

Despite lots of customers and few staff, the service and the food were excellent and reasonably quick. The house red wine was very nice and served at the perfect temperature. It's not our first visit but we look forward to coming back the next time we're in Oxford.

We were staying in the hotel next to the restaurant. We dropped in for dinner without reservations and they were able to serve us. At first we asked to sit indoors as the weather was a little chilly. It was so loud we then asked to sit outside. The hostess was not welcoming but she did allow us to sit outside after we asked. She was nearly nasty in the beginning but then became much more friendly so I don't know what was going on. There is another bar/restaurant next door and some of the cliental were having a VERY good time and they were foul mouthed and loud. Not Prezzo's fault but not very pleasant. The food was very good and the price was right.

The menu was extensive and the food was flavorful and large portions. The staff was professional and attentive. We had 4 courses and they were all fabulous. Looking for a great Italian Dinner in Oxford - Highly Recommended.

A great place for a couple of drinks or a meal, the prawn starter is good as are the pizza mains. In the grounds of Malmaison I would definitely give it a try if staying there for lunch or dinner :-)

We went here for dinner as a family treat. We’d been traveling all day and found it nearby online so I booked a table. Very good value for money. Staff were very inviting and friendly, food was lovely - plenty of choice, hot and prompt. We ended up all having 3 courses which usually we’d never do as we get fed up of waiting or the choice isn’t great. The main item my husband wanted wasn’t on the set menu but they put it on there for him as another veggie choice, which was very kind as he was prepared to order from the main menu. Nice and clean throughout too. My only criticism is some of the male staff were clearly having a conversation about some young females who’d come in for dinner, the manager (I assume) was very quick to move them along or away from their table but it was just in plain sight and a little rude and tasteless.

Good food, quick and friendly service, excellent value. Rafa and Livia made us really welcome and were really attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Had lunch with a voucher to the value of £30. Set menu but enough options to choose. Starters were good albeit my wife was given the wrong dish initially but definitely reccomend the pizza bites. The mains were pepperoni pizza and was good but the pasta carbonarra was a bit bland. Dessert was the highlight tiramisu and honeycomb cheesecake was delicious. Service was friendly. Overall good value for money included 2 glasses of house wine.

I booked a table for 8:15pm but due to traffic, we arrived at 8:21pm only to be told our table had been given away - 5mins late!! I get if we were 20 mins late (like they tried to tell me) but it was 8:21pm. She refused to acknowledge our table was booked for 8:15 Rude woman at reception who I think was the manager. Will not attempt to eat there again!!!

Fuimos por casualidad al ver que tenían terraza ya que íbamos con perro, al preguntar a la camarera, aunque no le hizo mucha gracia acepto, pedimos pizza y la verdad es que estaba bastante buena y la camarera al final fue muy agradable, el rincón donde esta es muy bonito.

The food was good (seabass and a seafood risotto). Our waiter (Rafa) was very friendly and overall we enjoyed our evening. Nice coffee too.

The interior is nicer than you expect from the outside and right next to a few of Oxford's attractions. It was a busy place which says something. Ate here when exploring and a decent menu with staff ok but not that smiley.

Went here before a show at New Oxford Apollo. Great, fast, efficient and friendly service from Raphael (he was excellent!). Great access for me, a full-time wheelchair user, plenty of space to get in to a table. Will certainly go back.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime with a group of 6 friends before a trip to theatre. I had booked and I would advise you to do this as it was full. Ordered from set menu and everyone enjoyed their food, quick, friendly service. The set menu is very good value.

Had a great meal here on a Thursday evening with my wife and baby (meerkat meals). Outside seating in the warm evening, covered by a huge wisteria made a very pleasant atmosphere. Food was as you might expect from one of the big Italian chains, the service was excellent, staff came across genuine and friendly which made the meal very enjoyable. Many Thanks

The food was very nice and the bartender upon arrival was lovely. Unfortunately, after we had finished our meal my partner went up to politely ask for a doggy bag and in return receive a rude and sarcastic answer from the male bartender on shift. It's just unnecessary and I was very tempted to show him your website wherein it states that you do takeaway. I'm so sorry that we interrupted your flirting with the other female bartender to ask a simple question which required a simple polite answer. Coming from a fellow bartender.

Con mi hermana nos preguntamos a dónde ir a comer algo bueno. Conocemos Prezzo de Didcot, de donde tenemos la buena experiencia, pero Oxford Prezzo no lo es. La calidad de la comida es muy buena y se sirve bastante rápido, ¡pero el servicio! El restaurante estaba vacío cuando llegamos, luego apareció otra mesa un par de minutos después de nosotros y en lugar de preocuparnos por los clientes, ignoramos por completo. La señora tomó nuestro pedido, lo hizo pasar, sirvió la comida, después de varios minutos me preguntó si estábamos bien. . No me importó demasiado, pídanos más bebidas o cualquier otra cosa. Después de que terminamos la comida, estábamos esperando al menos 15/20 minutos para la factura porque la señora estaba demasiado ocupada sentada en la silla y revisando su Instagram y messenger, lo que pudimos ver muy claramente porque estábamos sentados a solo 3 mesas de ella. No se molestó en ocultar su teléfono y lo que sea que estuviera haciendo en él. Por la factura, literalmente tuve que darle la espalda y llamar su atención que realmente nos gustaría pagar e irnos. Los baños eran horribles. . sucio y sin papel higiénico. .

La comida era excelente y con una excelente relación calidad-precio, sin embargo, no podíamos sentarnos afuera en lo que era una hermosa tarde cálida, ya que obviamente estaban descansando por la noche y no querían atraer a más comensales. (8.30?) Después de las 9. 45 nos ignoraron por completo, no hay oferta de postres, más bebidas o cafés. El personal parecía ansioso por irse a casa. we go to the Oxford Prezzo several times per year and this was well below par. We were seated quickly enough but then ignored for 20 mins. No waiting staff appeared interested in offering us choice from the drinks menu or the chance to order. It was heads or tails on whether to walk out or stay. Finally acknowledged ( oddly the people on the next table came in and were attended to within 5 mins) we ordered our food, this came quickly enough however the pizza toppings were incredibly sparse for a double pepperoni pizza I'd expect more than 4 pieces per quarter. This visit has put us off somewhat and think there is better out there available.

Popped into Prezzo for an evening meal with my husband, it was very busy. Food was very nice and service excellent even though run off their feet. The young waitress apologised for the slow service, which we considered not slow and very efficient. The only gripe was 2 out of the 3 loos were out of order but everything else tip top well done!

Really nothing wrong with this place at all - decent location near the castle and you can sit outside.

We had an excellent quick lunch sitting outside, under the wisteria, on a warm Sunday afternoon. The food is straightforward bistro - we had capresa salads, squid and a penne dish, which were all good, and delicious lemony mocktails. All reasonably priced

A Christmas present from our children had all the hallmarks of a lovely evening meal. Sadly not the case. Upon arrival the waitress was sour faced and rude and gave us the wrong menu (ours was a set 3 course with wine) waited 15 minutes to order a dessert which didn’t happen as we were ignored by the staff and it wasn’t even a busy evening. Eventually we just walked out and will not return. Shame.

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here whilst sightseeing in Oxford. Very enjoyable & well presented pizza & lasagne. Helpful, welcoming & friendly waitress. Alfresco dining under a canopy of lilac flowers made it a feel good experience. Will definitely visit again when we return to Oxford.

We had the most horrible of experiences with Prezzo Oxford. The staff were unpleasant and the follow up to our complaints to head office just as bad.

Well, the food was good but nothing special, and the attention they gave us wasn't great, but the bad surprise came with the bill. The attendant didn't explained us the deal with the courses to fit in the offer they were making this day. Even after we let her know that we intended to fit into the offer! We ended up asking for food that wasn't our first option (because they were in the ofeer's menu) AND didn't get the offer :(

During a trip to Oxford, I visited the restaurant with my family on Easter Monday, while we had pre-booked, it wasn't necessary as the restaurant was completely empty. Being such a lovely day we asked if we could eat outside on the terrace, but were informed this would not be possible as they didn't have enough staff on!!

The restaurant was quiet - Tuesday night but service was abominably slow. The waitress was sitting at a table when we came in. We were left for an extraordinary amount of time between sitting, ordering and different courses, we eventually had to ask for the waiter or waitress to come back as they hadn't brought all the food or the drinks. The meals were really mixed standard. Lasagne and pizzas were brilliant. Salads were awful. £12 for chicken bacon and avocado. Half a chicken breast at best, less than a quarter of one avocado and no bacon at all, it was disgusting prosciutto ham flakes. Garlic bread with no garlic butter on them and so dry and hard as to be inedible. Meals were not all brought together, we had to remind the waiter a couple of times we were still waiting. No Parmesan was offered so we had to ask for it. We had to ask for vinegar to be brought over. The puddings were the worst bit, they served the wrong ones, there was no fruit compote as advertised, just 4 raspberry's plopped on the side. The £6 cheesecake was about 1.5 inch square on a 12 inch plate, just highlighting the awful value for money. Considering the current competition with the new Westgate restaurants, Prezzo needs to seriously up its game to attract diners in and based on last night, I will never go back.

We chose Prezzo solely based on its location after we were finished our tour of the Oxford Prison and Castle. This was our first time eating at a Prezzo. We were a group of 6, we were seated quickly and provided menus upon siting. Our server came over quickly and took our drink order offering us time to read over the menu. There are a lot of options on the menu. Within our group we ordered pizza, spaghetti bolognese, cheeseburgers and the lentil salad. Everyone was very happy with the flavors of their meals. The margarita pizza was more just a cheese pizza. The lentil salad was delicious, my favorite meal on the table. Our service was good our food was good, pricing was comparable to other restaurants. I would go there again.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Restaurant very clean / modern. Staff were very friendly. I had the breaded mushrooms as starter. They came hot and very fast. Main for me was lasagne and side of fries. This was extremely hot and made individual portion. Not mass made from frozen. Very tasty and not expensive. My party had the chicken and mushrooms with side salad. Salad was fresh and tasty. Portions size was great. Burger and fries but no salad required. Burger was very tasty. Goats cheese alforno - very tast. Large portion.

children's menu very disappointing, carbonara must be from a jar. I had 6 mushrooms for £6...not the best value for money.

Lovely location, sadly the service was lacking and presentation of my pizza not so good. I didn't leave a tip because it was so clinical. Food ordered,food arrived, plates cleared, bill arrived, left. Customer skills we're not what I would have expected, no warmth at all. I ordered a pizza which only had about 3 bits of chicken asked for extra mushrooms, when it arrived there was only about 6 pieces of mushrooms cost £1.50.also ordered a side of fries which were ok but very small. The bill was over £88 pounds which wasn't good value for the money.

I’ve been to many prezzo’s and this was just a bit disappointing. We arrived and the restaurant was quite quiet. Our waitress was really slow to take orders. And while not serving was constantly on her phone.

We drove into Oxford at 9pm expecting the restaurant as advertised to be open to 11pm , imagine our shock to be told it closes now at 10pm when we we said “we had arrived before 10” we were told by the manager as he seemed to be in charge in a very irritated fashion “we are closed, now go” when I asked why it’s not even 10pm yet and pointed to the time, we got an amazing “we turned off all the ovens” ? ??

We enjoyed a tasty lunch here, pleasant service and tasty food. the outside door let in a cold draft when customers arriving and leaving and limited potato options, just chips I think

Muy contentos con nuestra visita a Prezzo. El personal es amable y atento, pero no exagerado. Los aperitivos y los entrantes fueron todos muy buenos. Mi esposa y mi hija pidieron pizzas que ambos disfrutaron, incluso llevándose a casa algunas rebanadas sin terminar. Mi hamburguesa era muy sabrosa, aunque muy difícil de comer debido a la altura de su apilado, se ve muy bien para la presentación, pero a más de 6 pulgadas de altura es imposible que solo la boca más grande pueda superarla. Tuve que desarmar el mío para comerlo, pero lo disfruté. Debería haber pedido pizza en un restaurante de pizza / pasta y una hamburguesa en un bar de hamburguesas.

La comida era normal. Nada malo, solo un poco soso. El pan de ajo no parecía tener ningún ajo, el menú para niños estaba bien, la pasta estaba hecha (como siempre en un lugar de comida rápida) pero la salsa boloñesa era lo suficientemente sabrosa. A los niños pequeños les gustaron las tiras vegetarianas para empezar, pero el hummus no es italiano, nunca lo será.

Terrible service. We arrived with a Buy a Gift voucher which we had redeemed online, and turned into a reservation at Prezzo Oxford. We arrived both with the original voucher and the email (from bookatable) that confirmed it had been turned into a reservation at Prezzo Oxford for the time we presented. The staff on duty did not seem to understand how this voucher worked, and eventually having kept our family of 5 waiting for 10 minutes, said they would not honour the voucher. So we had to leave. Very poor service indeed, needlessly frustrating and embarrassing for us as a family.

This was a very dissapoiting experience for me and my family. They offer us 2 menus, 1 christmas and the regular menu, we picked some of the christmas menu and some of the regular. At the time of the desserts they offer us only desserts from the christmas menu, and I didn't like any of those, I wanted one from the regular menu, but they only offer us from the christmas menu, this was odd. Also, the worst part, we want to pay with some vouchers, and they told us that due to we order christmas menu we couldn't use the vouchers, I told them that I also picked from main menu, but they said that I couldn't use vouchers still. These were tesco vouchers, they said in tesco clubcard page that you can use it in any prezzo, why they don't accept it? These "strategy" to "offer" christmas menu is not enough for me. Bad experience. The food is good though.

I have tried all of the puddings now. Honestly, to eat one on your own leaves an unpleasant taste in the mouth. The brownie is tough and chewy. The honeycombe cheesecake is a cheaper version of the previous one and not as nice. We all know sugar is extremely unhealthy so why are the puddings so sugar laden. Why not offer a lower sugar version? I have given up on puddings at Prezzo after having had the tough dog biscuit version of the brownie. Instead I go to a local department store for cake and coffee to finish my meal. Lost sales !!

We had hardly entered the door when a member of staff came to greet us and show us to a table. The restaurant filled quickly and became very noisy indeed, and this is my only criticism. In fact noisiness is a common feature of all Prezzo restaurants. However, I recognise this is down to management and design - nothing to do with staff or meals. The food was very good indeed and the service excellent.

We popped in at midday on 13/12/2018 for a modest lunch while shopping in Oxford. The place was empty and we were offered a choice of tables. Food and waiter service were excellent. We often eat at Prezzo and are rarely disappointed.

We were told it was booking only, when the restaurant was 40% full. Walked back by it an hour later and it was even quieter. Odd business model, a dozen or so tables free and couldn't serve 2 people because we hadnt called ahead. Wont try and go back.

Its OK, that's about it. The Pizza was OK, the Meatballs were OK, the service was OK. In a busy town like Oxford with lots of Italian restaurants its needs to be WOW! to make a difference.
