Prezzo Italian Restaurant Port Solent in Portsmouth

Food is good here, but quite expensive. The biscoff cheesecake (see picture) is £8. Service was perfunctory rather than attentive. The atmosphere was spoiled by the noise, one group of customers were having loud Facetime conversations! Noise also not helped by the hard floor & walls

hardly any filling in the Calzone, we did comment but nothing of real apologies.

It was once one of our preferred dining spots, frequented over the years, but the current prices are quite astonishing. A carbonara now costs £19, and the olives, which were previously delightful with garlic and herbs, have lost their charm. Regrettably, we find it difficult to justify returning at these rates, so we must gracefully avoid it.

You would think an Italian restaurant could cook Italian food but not this one. Soggiest pizza I’ve ever had. If it’s that bad on a Sunday night what’s it like when it’s busy!

Honestly....shameful!!! It's a chain so they should be spot on. Booked a table and tbf it was quiet at 8pm on a Saturday night! The service was great but the food....shameful!! Ordered the antipasti board and it arrived uninspired and borderline thrown on!! Now for the horror mains: Lobster and crab ravioli: pasta was raw, as in translucent raw!!! Never a good sign with fish Seabass with knoggi and lobster bisque: a beautiful piece of fish arrived dry and with no sauce at all. Asked where the bisque was and it went away and came back with an anaemic green water over it. Even the waitress Said " I wouldn't eat that" they'd clearly poured a veg broth over the fish to represent some kind of bisque!! I'm assuming as it was 2030 on a Saturday that the chef assumed the consumer would be drunk and not notice....wrong!!! Only paid for the wine (£35) the waitress was lovely and felt really embarrassed to be serving this up and wiped the rest as even she said was inedible!!! When you have a limited menu and can't even get that right it's a worry. Won't be coming again!! Waitress was 5* tho

I've eaten here before mid-week and it was fine. Saturday night was not a good experience. Restaurant was very busy and the staff couldn't cope with the volume. Food was brought to the table for different people at different times. Some people had finished their food when some hadn't even received their food. Long wait for a lasagne that eventually came out so burnt they tried to hide it with a load of parmesan on the top. We sent it back and the next one was fine (new one didn't have all the parmesan on top so it was obvious they used the parmesan to hide the burnt top on the previously one). The waitress didn't have the best attitude and we were charged for additional dishes we didn't order. On the plus side, some dishes were very nice and they managed our dietary requirements really well. I think they should not have accepted so many bookings when they clearly couldn't cope with the numbers.

Good service and atmosphere, food was alright, bit of a mixed bag, desert was very underwhelming for £8, nice pizza, garlic bread had a nice base, but quite small and not that much garlic on it. Not a great range of plant based options, zizzi's nearby does a better job of that also It was expensive.

absolutely lovely evening for my daughter's 16th birthday. The service was amazing, with our main waitress absolutely lovely. And the fact we could order drinks and pay at the table separately as we were ordering was brilliant and really helped with controlling the bill for everyone. Considering there was 31 of us the food was out really organised and warm and everyone loved it. Couldn't praise enough really and she had a really lovely evening with all her family and friends.

Worst customer service, had a booking for my family, lots of waitresses milling about, looked over at us but couldn't be bothered to acknowledge us, so we left, will not be returning and I suggest no one else bothers........absolutely shocking

Staff need happy pills and was working like they didn't want to be there.. food wasn't fantastic doughie pizza and over price for one's own experience of proper Italian restaurant's.

Th Gf pizza was messy some bits was stuck or torn. soggy bits. really weird texture. it wasnt a nice pizza. the Gf garlic bread was good. pepperoni was ok. chips were soggy and barely any. mozzarella sticks were ok. calamari wasn't great. Overall really not worth the money.

One waitress Lionel was very inattentive and quite frankly rude and distruptive. Food good tho

Pizza was not as expected ! Too much bechamel and not enough topping. The pizza base was burnt around the edge. Disappointed .

Really nice food and very filling

Really disappointing experience. In fairness the waiting staff were very over worked. The service was slow, the wait for drinks was 20 mins and food was another 30. The quality of the food has really dropped here too. The pasta dish was tepid and watery. Dishes were missing then despite chasing them up only arrived after the meals that were served were eaten. It's a real shame but I really don't think this restaurant offers quality food or a nice experience.

We arrived at Prezzo on a Friday night, expecting a fun and vibrant atmosphere. While the restaurant was only about a third full, we were surprised by the incredibly slow service. It took a full 35 minutes for a rather uninterested server to even take our drink order. Then, to add insult to injury, another 30 minutes passed before our drinks arrived. The food itself was a mixed bag. The pizza was delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust and flavorful toppings. However, my wife's lasagna was a major disappointment. The portion size was tiny, especially considering the hefty price tag. To make matters worse, it came completely bare – no salad, no bread, no side dish of any kind. Feeling frustrated and neglected, we decided to skip dessert and drinks altogether. We ended up heading elsewhere to salvage our evening. While the pizza was good, the overall experience at Prezzo was severely hampered by the inattentive service and overpriced, underwhelming food. Unfortunately, we won't be returning anytime soon.

We arrived seated at our table straight away after five minutes the waitress took our drink order we and we waited . After 30 minutes we got concerned waited another five minutes then and my grandmother approached the waiting staff to enquire as when we could order and the staff had some confusion as she wanted to have a coffee she then took our order and our food arrived nine minutes later food was great . After our meal the bill was presented to us and the same waitress seemed to dismay that we wouldn’t leave a tip and then forcefully removed it away and we then departed we then had pudding elsewhere

Chairs was to small to sit on food was nice and hot but was disgusting waitresses was nice but couldn't get around the tables so had to keep leaning over people with the plates wouldn't visit again plus they expected a high tip £20 plus

Absolutely superb, from entry to exit, a really nice dining experience, and a beautiful view over the marina. Best place where we really enjoy a tasty Calzone and a juicy beef burger 🍔

Great food, but like most places these days, lacks a lot of atmosphere. Service was spot on, I would recommend.

Great place with reasonable prices. Not been for quite a while so the menu had changed but it was amazing, great vegetarian and vegan choices.

If I could leave zero reviews I would have. Food was absolutely perfect. I have been going here for years and there has been a new manager who has taken over and his customer service was absolutely awful. I tried to pay for my bill, and was refused as I had cash. He said he doesn’t have change in his till, huffed at me numerous times. I said he cannot refuse legal tender and his response was ‘it is not illegal to only accept card’ and that ‘he can take my money but will not be able to give me my change’ In the end he ‘found’ some change for me after I had to wait at the bar for ten minutes for it. I have been paying cash at prezzo since covid and even though they have stated they are card only they have always let me pay in the past and never made it an issue. Because they know you cannot refuse cash. Will not be going there again.

Went for lunch and it was very tasty! The Beef burger was very very nice! And my partner has the chilli & garlic crab spaghetti also very tasty! Service was pleasant highly recommended

I'm a frequent customer at Prezzo, because I really like it. I had come to this Prezzo last month and as always I order the spaghetti carbonara. This time A carbonara arrived at my table that I had never seen before, liquid liquid... I spoke to the manager and they made me another carbonara which came again liquid, but in the end the manager explained that they had changed the product they use to make the cream and that it would be like this in all the Prezzo’s now, I think it's very strange and honestly it doesn't taste good to eat a carbonara like that... in the end we ordered a dessert, a lotus biscoff cheesecake with banana, when it arrived at the table there was no banana... and we could see the table on the side with the same dessert but with banana. anyway, we were not lucky this time…

A massive 'thank you' to the manager and team for my date night yesterday. Really appreciated being able to reserve our favourite table with you. We'll be back soon. Best, Ian.

All portions very small compared to what you get at Zizzi's and other restaurants. Friends were not impressed with portion sizes, they were more children portions. Will not be eating here again. H Singh

Gorgeous food, good price, prompt and friendly service

Really really good food that was tasty and fresh...........loved it.

Our waitress service couldn’t be faulted on Saturday afternoon. She was polite, efficient and knew the menu well to answer questions. The food however tasty was not very warm and the chicken seemed as though it was reheated. Chips were nice and hot. The food came out too quick, so for a £19 dish we would expect freshly cooked chicken and hot. There were no toilet rolls in the ladies toilets.

This is a great restaurant in a beautiful location away from traffic. Service was first class on a busy lunch time and food was great, we will return.

Portion size was abysmal for the price. Orzo salad was starter size and main price. Good quality though.

Food was good service was poor due to shortage of staff especially in the kitchen ordered our starter 40 minutes later I asked about it 5 minutes later it came out with our main at the same time and the order wasn't even right won't be going back

Not the best place we have eaten at Port Solent, at the beginning the service was very slow, infact we had to prompt the staff for drinks and order our starter. The food was OK. Where we were sat it was noticeable that the place had not been cleaned for a while as there was tomato sauce splattered up the wall. We will not be rushing back ☹️

We had a very nice experience in this restaurant. The food was nice, friendly service and beautiful views!

Had a lush evening at Prezzo tonight. We rang and booked the night before and they were really accommodating towards our dog. We sat outside overlooking the marina. Our waitress Iionela was lovely and brought out water for our dog without us even asking. One of us is Gluten Intolerant and they have plenty of gluten free options. The manger took our order and was really lovely aswell. We were even brought out some chicken for our dog which was so generous. We enjoyed our food and the service was very accommodating towards our dog. We popped in before getting the ferry and aren't local otherwise we'd definitely be back. Thank you to the team!

Dedicated staff, quality food but they do not accept cash. Can be noisy as there are no soft furnishings and loud conversations bounce around the room.

We do visit this place a lot. And it was very nice. Tasty food. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Good atmosphere. I do recommend.

Had a lovely table outside overlooking the marina, great start. Seated for 10 minutes, before any attention, then I had to ask for the filthy table to be cleaned, before placing a drinks order. Service was very slow, had to ask for cutlery when mains were finally delivered, had to ask for napkins, I get fed up having to grab waiters attention, excuse me, excuse me! The chocolate 'cake' was dry and grainy, with a teaspoon of cream, to be honest I probably should have challenged it at the time, but my grand children just wanted to get away, and to be honest after TWO HOURS, so did I. Overall nice meal, slow service and did not feel looked after, shame as we were looking forward to this family meal.

Food 10/10 - had chicken Alfredo and onion garlic bread. Warm when arrived. Great stuff. Courier was friendly and efficient

Enjoyed the food in terms of being very tasty as you would expect from Prezzo. This is one of the only times I have eaten something other than pizza or lasagne and to be honest I didn't think it was particularly good value for money. The portion size was pretty small for a £20 main course. Probably ok if you're spending £50 per head with a starter and dessert, but not when you are having lunch. It wouldn't take a lot to improve this, but first impressions were poor.

Forgot the chicken on my chicken pizza, luckily server noticed before giving it to me, I know presentation isn't everything but throwing a few bits of chicken on it later doesn't quite cut it when u have to pay full price for it.

Great food in a great location! Calamari was meaty - excellent! Rigatoni with salmon was tasty- Pasta nicely cooked. Pepperoni pizza has lots of Pepperoni on it. Marina view is superb 👌. Very pleasant atmosphere. I had the blood orange lemonade drink 🍸. It was very refreshing. Loved it! Parking is free!

Nice people shame about the food the Pizza was uncooked and the chicken pasta had 2 tiny bits of chicken. And the £10 Blood Orange Margereta was about 100mls if that, all in all very disappointing 😞

Nice place to eat, but no longer value for money. Meerkat 2 for 1 is no longer accepted, instead it's now 25% off.

Stopped here for a light lunch. Relaxed atmosphere, peaceful setting, service was great and food delicious. Would come back again.

The food is good for the price point and the friendly staff made up for the fact we couldn't use the terrace on the day we visited. Just can't get my head round they kept this branch open over the lovely building they had in Chichester.

We booked to celebrate my fathers 81st birthday. All of the staff made this a special meal. The customer service was absolutely perfect- in particular Monika who served the table offered the best customer service I have received in a restaurant for many years.

Excellent lunch with my family. Very good menu choice. Efficient service from friendly waitress. Food came in good time. Could not fault quality or quantity. Quite full after main course ut could not resist desserts and pleased we had them. Pretty good value for money in current times of rising prices.

Worst Italian I've ever had, sat down at 7, starter at 7:50, main at 8:55, not once were we asked how our meal was. Main was salty and dry, and even with half a plate of food left, didn't raise a comment from the servers. Wouldn't ever come back.

Sadly they got my order wrong then I didn't get my meal for a while. Then they gave us the dessert menu and at the same time gave my grandson his ice cream. What was the point of us getting ours ages after his. Didn't order my husband's dessert or my coffee. Disappointing meal

The front of house staff were brilliant. Friendly and as efficient as they could be but they were obviously struggling with either understaffing or incompetence in the kitchen. We waited 45 minutes for a portion of garlic bread and then decided to leave as they were obviously under pressure but looking at the food around us I would not have been happy to pay such high prices for such poor quality. No disrespect to the ladies up front though - they were doing all they could to keep things running smoothly.

Our Main meal of Aubergine ragu was tasty enough if lacking a little in presentation appeal. We had a lovely waitress Angelica who helped us navigate around a depleted menu choice. Couldnt have the chocolate and cherry sundae as there were no Cherries available. My chocolate cake dessert came without the mascarpone and raspberrys as they had apparently run out. A little concerning that a restaurant cannot provide what the menu states

Awful, we booked in advance and when we got there there was no tables available with the excuse of sorry we are doing our best ? Why even have a booking service if it’s not going to be taken seriously.

Food was ok however it was mine and my partners first time here and our drinks got poured onto my partner and we were waiting awhile for our food. Customer service was great and they were helpful and helped resolving our problem.

Unable to book a table through the automated system but luckily eventually spoke to a very helpful lady who arrange a table for eight. The waitresses were friendly, helpful and fun. The food came reasonably quickly, given it was early on a Saturday evening, however a couple of the dishes had been "over blasted" and the seasonal greens were scant. The restaurant is probably OK for a pre-cinema meal.

Food was great, but the just eat driver arrived early at the restaurant, then left without the food and without warning to the restaurant. The food then had to recooked and a new driver ordered. V v poor for just eat. Apologetic from Prezzo but only after I called them to query where my order was

Went for a Christmas party, only ten of us. We had all prebooked our food yet still had to reiterate the choices when we arrived. One starter failed to appear with the rest and when it finally turned up, the rest of us were about to begin our main course. Food was ok but nothing special. Tiramisu was frozen solid, and cheesecake was very dry. We complained but nothing was done and then they tried to overcharge for the amount of drinks we had (about £50 more). The only other diners were a couple behind us who tried to pay their £31 bill with cash but were told that the restaurant wasn't accepting cash as they had no change (even though there was no signage that stated this) and maybe they could just pay the £40 they had (2 x £20) and leave the rest as a tip!! I won't be returning to what I found to be a lack lustre establishment. Hayley the waitress was pleasant enough though.

Very disappointed with the food, I ordered spaghetti bolognaise. When it arrived although was nice and hot, there was hardly any bolognaise (I would say one desert spoon). £20 is awfully expensive for a plate of spaghetti 😡

An impromptu Wednesday night out with friends including a "special needs" Coeliac (me). They fitted us in immediately at prime time and service was excellent despite being busy. Excellent range of GF starters and mains. Only criticism is lack of GF deserts and the price of Diet Coke bottles. Would recommend and will go back again. Thank you.

I had the standard beefburger which was quite good. It came with a portion of french fries. Quite expensive at nearly £14.00. This is a quite expensive restaurant. Obviously it's location affects it's prices.

Driver delivered the beer and the hot food in the same bag and just opened the bag and said “food” not a single other word or even attempt at handing it over. Cardboard garlic bread, undercooked broccoli and awaiting the arrival of my salmon for my oaks smoked penne. Shocking for £60+ for two meals and two beers

My wife and I enjoyed our food, prices higher than I remember but with the price of everything going up it's hardly surprising. The waitress that served us was really friendly and attentive and we were sorry there was no option to tip on the card machine as we didn't have any cash on us. The only let down was it was quite noisy in the restaurant but it was unexpectedly busy and it didn't ruin our night out.

Waited an 1 hour to order food when it arrived food was cold, not cooked properly. Returned cold meals for them to reheat existing meal. Menus where still on the table as well as empty glasses. No sign of these being cleared until we cleared them our selves. Not a good meal for a celebration really disappointed.

The food was amazing and our waitress harmony was fabulous and due to it being my birthday she was very accommodating and even offered to bring out ice cream and a candle. However the manager was rude and even rolled his eyes when I had to insert the card.

Underwhelming menu choice, not many choices for vegetarians who don't want "fake meat". Staff friendly & attentive, offered free desserts to compensate for raw dough in the Calzone - even on their second attempt after I sent the first one back.

Fantastic girls fantastic family place

Had an amazing time here and despite being the only floor worker, Radu still provided excellent service and made sure we had everything needed. I would highly recommend as there is also an amazing view of the port from the restaurant.
