We usually love this café but this morning (Sunday August 25) was disappointing. The coffee was very good but we had to wait about half an hour for it was very unsatisfactory especially as the cafe was not particularly busy. Also, while we used the displayed password, the WiFi was not working.

I’m shocked to read some of the reviews for Pretty and Pip. All I can say is we had a wonderful lunch. This is the 4th time I’ve been in Pretty and Pip over several years. Their Salt Beef sandwiches are amazing, £11, which I think is ok in the current climate. The two ladies serving were lovely and friendly. There were 7 of us and all loved our food and the staff were happy for us to move the tables around accommodate us. Coffee was good too. The cakes looked wonderful too. I certainly wouldn’t want to work in hospitality in this current climate, it can’t be easy with costs going up on ingredients but trying to keep the end product reasonable for customers. I think some people expect too much. Thanks for a lovely lunch, we will be back :)

I took my review down as wanted to ‘sleep on it’ have decided to rewrite as don’t want someone else going thro same experience and having read reviews realise my experience is nor unique My friend and I were waiting for another friend so I ordered a coffee and my friend asked for water and was going to order when our other friend came I exchanged pleasantries with the owner and then he asked if my friend was going to just drink water in a hostile manner when she tried to reply he said ‘I don’t want an argument ‘ and then said sorry was just joking So bizarre and my friend is going thro hell at the moment and we didn’t need this . What’s sad is that three friends of mine won’t go in because of his manner and I have always defended him but I saw first hand how rude and unpleasant he can be . That’s another three that won’t be coming again I notice he always replies to negative reviews defensively I have a really emotional attachment to this property and the garden and this will never go but I won’t ever visit this cafe again .

Every time we stay in the Cotswolds we love to visit this fab coffee shop, our absolute favourite in the area. Sometimes we come for breakfast and then return later for lunch, as their flat whites are second to none and the toasted salt beef sandwiches are simply to die for ! Their sweet treats are a feast for the eyes - you just have to try the kookie pies ! Even on the busiest Saturdays the staff are friendly and efficient, and always find space for us and our small children (and dogs). Great atmosphere and good music selection too - ticks all the boxes for our little family. Looking forward to enjoying their lovely garden again now the weather is getting warmer. Will definitely be back v.soon !

Not sure if my partner and I were at the same cafe as some of the reviewers here as we had a really great experience, fast efficient welcome and ordering on to the main seating area which for a modern space in an old building was very cosy and warm (there was around a 10 minute wait for our beautiful oat flat whites to be delivered but it was very busy with every table taken) We had Sourdough toasted sandwiches which were the best ive ever had, crunchy sourdough and melty cheese yum. We didnt have room for cake but we stopped on way out to take some away, the bald guy was very pleasant and again service was polite and quick. We will defo be back when ever visiting Cotswolds, so much better than an old fashioned tea room.

Nice hot coffee and a good selection of cakes and savouries. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff despite it being a busy Saturday morning of the Cirencester Christmas Street Market. I went to this cafe with my family 8 in total. After settling down at a table I went up with my daughter to order. I started ordering a milkshake, cappuccino, anericano, before I ordered the other drinks I asked for a glass of water for myself this is where it took a nosedive. He tutted and rolled his eyes i looked at him puzzled ge looked at ne and said "are you really going to order just water on this busy Saturday afternoon" i thought he was joking but he actually said it again! I said "excuse me". It all sunk in that he was really saying what i heard! My daughter said she was uncomfortable so I had no hesitation but to say "forget it" I have never experienced such dusgusting rudeness and unprofessionalism from a business owner to me a customer ever! I simply asked for water!!. Shame on you for treating my family like this.

We are regulars to Pretty & Pip’s. First and foremost this is a coffee shop and their coffees are the best in Cirencester. We used to go to Cafe Nero but not anymore as we would rather pay more for quality. We also love their open sandwiches and cakes. Recently I tried their sausage roll which is super yummy, fresh and very nice. Their sausage rolls easily beat Greggs sausage rolls by a mile! Looking forward to seeing Phil and Emma and the team at our next visit!

I ordered a toasted ham sandwich and it came in a towering pile in the middle of a plate each slice of bread was well over half an inch thick and a thick slice of ham was in the middle folded over making the whole well over 1 inch thick & impossible to fit in your mouth. The crust was so hard, I tried disassembling the sandwich to eat one part at a time & cutting it with a knife but it was too difficult to cut. So I left it. At £11+ for this and a cold drink it was poor value. Wholemeal was not offered, sourdough revolution Lechlade who supply them sell wholemeal sourdough, why doesn't this restaurant? Making sourdough from white bread does not make it healthy. The serving staff was great, woman behind the till grumpy & unhelpful.

Awful service from the young lad on the till today. To You would think he would hate his job! I have never felt so uncomfortable and depressed while getting served by him. On the positive side the coffee that the young lady made was beautiful and she gave us a smile once we walked in which was lovely. So thank you for trying to make our experience better but maybe someone should be having words with the boy.

Why does a shop selling tea and cake close at 4.30 in the afternoon? On a busy summer Saturday. We'd just sat down with our tea and cake and were told that they would be closing soon. We didn't have a great experience here. We ordered a slice of bakewell and tea for 2. The tea is literally a small cup of tea - no pot or extra water. When we asked for some extra water the waitress said it would be 50p. The bakewell was lovely and the tea [what there was of it] was good. The courtyard garden was lovely. But the small tea ration and early closing left a bad taste in the mouth. We wouldn't go back.

I want to be fair (which is why I have given 3 stars) as I know it's hard for small businesses right now, so I'll list pros and cons: Cons: Very expensive for what it is My pasty was tasteless Could use some upkeep, starting to look shabby My food came out 45 mins after everyone else, nothing done about this. I've worked in customer service and would have offered a free tea or something to apologise. It's very cramped Limited menu (especially for kids) Pros: The lad on till was very friendly They have some nice art The plugs have USB sockets It was warm

Could not have been happier to find this little gem. Lunch menu was perfect, choice of baguettes and sandwiches with a Homemade soup on the specials. Bread was incredibly fresh and homemade tomato soup was amazing! Really lovely staff, fab decor and very clean. Makes...

pretty and Pip is located in Castle street Cirencester it’s a great place to meet for coffee or a light lunch. We recently visited and had the home made leek and potato soup with sourdough bread. It was definitely a winter warmer and was delicious....

A lovely little modern cafe with nice coffee and a good menu. I was surprised to see cakes by the till on display uncovered though and it did put me off eating any. I'd definitely go back and I'd recommend it to friends though.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

Up and coming place. Lovely chef, with great ideas for the place. Worth a visit. Had Sunday lunch, which was very nice. Good value for money. Can't wait to see what they can do..!! Well done!

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.
