Pret a Manger in Oxford

I want to begin this review by pointing out I am a great fan of this franchise so much so that when I first ate there I tried to buy stock and it only to find that at the time it was a private company and addition back at Chicago it is my favourite place at The University of Chicago to eat and he’s gotten me through many a trip to Paris on a budget but I am sorry to report that all three of the stores I ate at in Oxford were dreadful The one in the mall had a dreadful small selection almost all the food was high calorie and all the bread covered in seeds the one at the bottom of corn market Street was the best oddly in terms of selection of breads and things even though it was the smallest and the one at the top of Cornmarket Street was filthy filthy filthy dirty with almost nothing to choose from I went to all three of these places at different times of the day , I am sad to report that the franchise here is not representing the company very well

Lovely hot chocolate, HOWEVER, won't come back. Limited seating due to studying students, plethora of laptops with their almost complete absence of consumables.

Awful coffee. They put chocolate sprinkles and sugar without asking! I hate sugar in coffee! And there is a plastic smell on a cup. Utterly disappointed. Never going back to Pret again.

Once again the the coffee & cookies were great - but the place is let down by serving the drinks in paper cups & the food in a paper bag!! Surely you should be given a proper cup & plate if dining in? Good coffee, but I would like a proper cup!!

We chose some toasties, but when we ate them they were half toasted, The queue was too long to wait and complain. Really need some staff training in putting toasties on!! its a Tuesday and most of the tables are taken up by students with their laptops out having one coffee, that doesnt help the people that want to sit and have their lunch!! The toilets were dirty and the sink tap was broken in the ladies. Not a nice dining experience I wont be back.

Love love love that this has now become a Veggie Pret! Really pleased and it’s made me go there more now — only thing is I’d really like to see a reduction in plastic packaging :)

THIS ESTABLISHMENT DOES FREE COFFEE FOR THE HOMELESS, IT IS EVEN LABELLED ON SOME OF THE COFFEE PACKAGES THAT GET DELIVERED, I GOT REFUSED A FREE COFFEE (I AM HOMLESS), THEN THE MANAGER DECIDED TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS HOMELESS A FREE COFFEE, FAVOURTISM AT ITS FINEST, TOTALLY OUT OF ORDER AND UNACCEPTABLE, DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!

Most of the tables are taken by student on laptops not eating or drinking. When a table comes free nobody is clearing them. Desperately need some effective management.

Lovely atmosphere, great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford city centre. Good drinks, good food. Recommend sitting upstairs.

I really love this tiny Pret in the city centre. Used to live very close to it and would get my daily fix of coffee from here. I really am obsessed with this coffee shop. The Pret coffee is phenomenal.

I hadn't visited this chain since before lockdown, and so I thought a return here might make a pleasant change. However, I was not at all impressed by having the coffee served in a plastic cup(it doesn't taste as good in plastic)! Okay if you're taking away, but not really the thing when you're drinking 'in' at table. The coffee itself wasn't bad, and the chocolate cookie was very good(but handed to me in a bag - where have the plates gone?). When you're paying more the £5 for the drink/food you expect some sort of standards - you should get proper cups and plates for that! I probably shan't be making a return visit here.

I have always rated Pret’s. Oxford is terrible, disorganised, wrong drinks, slow, absolute shambles. I’ve always found Pret’s to be the best but sadly this branch needs some work.

I’m normally a pret lover, but the service at this store is impressively bad. I had my coffee order taken but was completely ignored by the waitress as she was too busy talking amongst the rest of the team, and had to ask me again for my order. My coffee was given to me lukewarm. I definitely advise taking a walk down the street to go to the Pret further down Cornmarket for a friendlier service.

I have never come across such a RASIST, BIAS and Gender Discriminating Staff ever at Pret. She was serving me at 2:00 pm at Pret The Lady Manager and she was so so rude. Almost made me CRY!!! Had the worse day ever.

It's opened so I don't know why it's marked closed. Awful service. Went in for a coffee, and the lady completely forgot about my drink while making drink for herself. Asked her, no reaction. Asked another lady, told me to wait without even looking at me, but didn't bother coming back to me. I asked again, someone finally made it. The lady handed to me with no apologies whatsoever. Funny how the cashier smiled to every customer after they served but couldn't handle the slightest issue with some manners.

Please wear your masks! I'd love to pick up a salad on the way home, but half the staff is not wearing masks and half has them under their noses. I doubt I am the only potential customer you are putting off that way.

Very poor customer service. I usually go to the Pret on Westgate and they seem to have great service and drinks. I went to Cornmarket branch for the 3rd time today and experienced a really bad customer service. I ordered a cold americano with milk and it was a lady who took the order and she just got the payment and went away asking the guy in there to give my order (she didn't mind to specify the order to the other person who was working there she only wanted to take the payment). The guy was with a different customer and once he was done he came and started making my order and I was in a call with my husband. He came and asked me whether I wanted it black I thought he asked what my order is and I said I ordered an americano. He just went away without making sure what the order is and came back with a black coffee. I said I asked for milk. Then he just took the milk bottle and poured a little on top and then tried to close the cup splashing coffee all over and then he was mad and said 'I asked you whether you wanted black and you said yes' (which I did not). Then he said 'you have to take off your earphones when you come in to the store because you can't hear what I'm saying', in a rude way. Then he just took the coffee and dropped a little of the coffee to the sink and closed it and gave to me with coffee all over the outer of the cup. And the coffee didn't had any sugar in it he didn't even mention or offered me to add in sugar. I didn't know until I got back to work. I think thats not a pleasant way to treat to a customer, when he didn't made sure the order was black or with milk. Super rude and unpleasant service.

Recientemente hemos estado comiendo en este local. Está situado en una antigua casa en Cornmarket street que llama la atención. Están muy limpios los expositores de comida. Nos gustò lo que elegimos: ensaladas frescas y con aliños muy sabrosos, el Wrapp de pollo y verduras está delicioso. Pero la segunda parte del título se debe a que tuvimos un problema al pagar la cuenta. Dos profesionales del "Pret a manger" se ofrecieron a darnos una solución que quedaba fuera de su ámbito laboral. Hoy en día apenas se ven estas muestras de generosidad. A nosotros nos conmovió su actitud y les estamos enormemente agradecidos. Buena gente!!

I go here regularly there is a big wide range of sandwiches and torsties the food products are really flavour I go for the posh cheddar sand which which is delicious I reccomend the food quality has always been really high and reasonably priced as well the only thing that I have your coffees and the times I have had them they have not been hot which means you drink it quickly then it’s not enjoyable it should be in the middle, it is very clean and very good customer the staff always have a smile on their faces which makes a massive difference in customer service and very nice decor and a vibrant atmosphere it situated in britiful historic Oxford,

I think all their locations are so consistent. Great selection of fresh food, delicious coffees and very friendly staff.

While traveling in the UK recently my husband and I ate at Pret A Manger about every other day. We would have on full service meal and then picnic on a take away order from this cafe. The food was fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. They easily had the best flat white coffee that I had in all our travels. I appreciate their efforts to avoid waste and use local sources too!

Tried for the first time ever today, really good coffee! I had an organic hazelnut latte which was delicious!

Hay dos Sra. Prets en el centro de Oxford y este es el uno en la esquina de la calle cornmarket y High Street, donde hay asientos disponibles (sólo el otro es llevar). Estaba muy ocupada y no tienen tan bien los asientos, ya que encontrará en muchos Sra. Prets, principalmente porque había una enorme plaza de wc para minusválidos. El edificio en sí es precioso desde fuera y me da la sensación de que podríamos haber hecho más del interior, pero Pret es un lugar realmente para un bocadillo rápido y una taza de té o café, no un lugar para quedarse. Hay muchos salones de té y cafeterías en Oxford que podría ser mejor para un almuerzo rápido que no puedo dar este cinco estrellas, aunque yo generalmente me encanta Pret. El problema para mí es siempre que a menudo se llena y entonces estar en una cola por un tiempo; aparte de eso, normalmente puedes confiar en un nivel consistente con la comida (yo no bebo café, así que no puedo opinar sobre ello).

La comida es rica y variada. Es una buena opcion para evitar los fish and chips o las hamburguesas de los pubs y variar un poco el menú.

No seating at this Pret. Go to the one down the street of you want to relax. This one is small, overcrowded and hectic.

I love their cappuccino, especially in this quite place.

日曜の午前中、テイクアウェイで利用しました。日曜早めの時間帯だったからか、街のほとんどのお店が閉まっていたのに、ここは営業していたので助かりました。ヘルシーなサンドイッチがたくさん、ピザもありました。サイズ大きめで美味しいですが少し食べにくいかもしれません。野菜やフルーツのドリンクもオススメです。朝食とランチの分をまとめて買い込みました。

El comercio está ubicado inmejorablemente en la parte peatonal de la calle principal de cuando uno llega a Oxford, la Cornmarket St. Heladeras exhibidoras conservan la comida en estado óptimo y por otra parte, tientan al comensal con mil variedad de ensaladas y sandwichs. La oferta de jugos tampoco que se queda atrás. Todo muy rico. Una vez hecho el pedido, que uno toma, se puede comer en el local, hay muchas ubicaciones, o llevar. Los precios, medios.

Sometimes you just want to grab a quick bite and for that Pret a Manger is a great option. I think the quality of this 'fast food' is definitely above par and you can get a satisfying meal or snack that feels healthy, too.

Usual Pret food, which I find to be very good! I wanted a pastry with no price indicated for it. Since it was the end of the day, and pastries in abundance, the staff gave it to me gratis. Can't go wrong with Pret options!

Always good food at Pret and Oxford is no exception. This is a very popular spot and at peak times there will always be a queue but they handle it very efficiently. They always have enough staff on hand to keep there shelves stocked and hot food still hot.

We turned up very early to pick up vegan & veggie wraps to take to Blenheim palace for a picnic but there wasn't any out. I spoke to the assistant who rang the kitchen & got one of the chefs out. He wasn't even going to make the vegan wraps that day but did so, just for us. We were told they'd be 20 mins. When we returned he was just putting them out. He had to make all of them for the day bless him. Staff then apologised to us for the wait.Exceptional. Just another great reason to use Pret.PS, whoever created that avocado & pine nut wrap is a genius!

Four of us wanted a drink and snack. We struggled with the server to get her to understand our order. She had no customer service skills and was rude. The coffees weren't particularly good in any event. There are several other places one could go to for coffee.

We are big fans of Pret a Manger sandwiches . Have been for ages .The food in the branch was excellent as always...Fresh and tasty.The ambiance of the coffee shop interested us in that it had a feel of history despite being modern. Being a university town it was bustling with lively students which added to the atmosphere of the place.Loved it.The only criticism I have is the staff. They came across as rather unfriendlyand impatient in general. Then again it was a busy Boxing day.I wouldn't want to be unfair.

There is a sign on the wall of this branch saying the place is reputed to be haunted. It's certainly ancient, with beams and old stone lintels. The food and drinks are normal (good) Pret fare.

Definitely my favourite coffee shop! Their food is so healthy, fresh and tasty, really hard to find other place with standards like that. I feel like I can trust the Pret that they sell very good quality food and drinks.

I'm a big fan of the selection of juices and smoothies. Pret a Manger also does really nice salads. It's a good place if you need to quickly grab something and go. The layout of the seating downstairs is not ideal but then again there is not space to work with.

There are two of these Pret outlets very close to each other in Cornmarket street. One is more a take-out only place with a few chairs outside - the other is in a wonderfully restored old building on two floors. Pret standards are so consistent wherever you go with wonderfully fresh food, plenty of choice and catering well for all tastes including vegetarian. Later in the day they may run out of your favourites though. Lately my favourite is pasta with cauliflour, cheese and kale and my favourite drink for many seasons is their carrot juice - followed closely by their apple juice. My husband has one of the wraps with haloumi. We visit this Pret and many others when we visit other cities in the UK as well.

As with all in this chain they have great organic decaf, fresh vegetarian sandwiches, and an ancient atmosphere in their seating areas. It is in a historical building

Il posto è veramente centrale e comodo, il personale molto gentile e disponibile, mi sono fermato solo il tempo di prendere una insalata di pollo e un croissant al cioccolato e sono uscito. L'insalata era buona e il dolce pure. Per uno spuntino veloce lo consiglio.

Sempre uma ótima opção para lanches rápidos e saudáveis. Bom atendimento e oferece mesinhas para sentar e comer com calma.

On our trip to Oxford in March we spent quite some time in the city centre, and every day for lunch we went to Pret. The staff there are very friendly, the food was delicious and fresh and the signs dotted around the shop telling you about the food made you feel exceedingly hungry and satisfied with your food! If there was one thing I would improve on it would be the loos as they are tiny and there is often a long queue waiting outside them- just one for each gender. But still, a lovely place to go!

This is a nice one of two Pret's on the Cornmarket, and I prefer this one, the staff is nicer and the space is cleaner, in my eyes, at least.The foods on offer are very nice, and fresh, and well prepared, and there are lots of choices for drinks as well.Enjoy!

Il locale é molto carino anche se un po' piccolo. Il personale é molto diligente e disponibile. Il cibo é ottimo e fresco. Ci sono molte varietá di pasti, per tutti i gusti e preferenze. Assolutamente da provare il biscottino di pan di zenzero!

my first time in pret and I wont return, I ordered a croissant and the guy put through a chocolate croissant, i said no sorry just a normal one please and he replied "well i heard you say chocolate" - which i did not and the woman behind the till leant over, laughed and whispered to the guy "I heard chocolate too" when clearly they did not! I only went here because Cafe Nero, who by the way have amazing staff, had a queue to the door that morning!

The heading says it all. The coffee was OK, I suppose, but the whole experience was unpleasant and I'd never visit this coffee bar again. Oh, and the toilet was not an enjoyable experience, either.

Very poor. PAM usually serves tasty food in a quality environment. This was contrary to their ethos. The queue to pay was winding out of the door, and there was hardly any seating! The food was cold and there was barely any of it.

Not much to say about this place. It is typical of every 'Pret.' in the country. The food is OK and the staff are usually polite.

Troverete i locali di questa catena un pò dappertutto, ogni volta che avevamo un pò di fretta ne abbiamo approfittato, i panini sono sempre freschi e di ottima qualità, se prendete i toast impacchettati con la carta ( ottimi quello al tonno e quello classico con mostarda) vi verranno scaldati. Nei frighi troverete anche la frutta e le bibite. Costo nella media.

A rede Pret a Manger sempre oferece boas opções tanto para café quanto almoço. Muitas opções saudáveis. Eu particularmente não gosto do café, que acho fraco.

We have been to countless Pret a Manger food outlets all over the country and have not been disappointed at any one of them. The food is displayed hygienically whether cold or hot and the selection is varied, mostly organic and of the best standard local produce where possible. My wife always enjoys the suchi filled rolls and I the egg and cress mayo sandwiches preceded by a hot cheese and tomato pastry. We also enjoy their hot oat porridge and really good coffee for breakfast. We always recommend Pret a Manger to all our friends.

It was 8 AM on Saturday - the food fridge was bare. The manageress was yelling at staff to "clean this and clean that". The staff were brusque. The customers were irrelevant.
