Pret A Manger in Epsom and Ewell

As it's practically opposite where I live, I come in here a lot & I have to say, the staff are lovely, but this place is a dump! It's in dire need of a refurb and half the seats ar ripped. The ice machine has been broken for weeks, the air-con is deafening, one of the food chillers is busted, the lavatories have seen better days, it's chronically overcrowded with way too many tables put out, the power sockets are almost unreachable, the piped music is truly diabolical and hasn't changed in months and the Internet connection in there is easily the worst I've used in any public place. Everybody complains about it as it's, almost unusable even when the place is practically empty. It's impossible to watch a YT video at over 360p without constant buffering & the connection times you out every hour or so (often less) necessitating constant opening of browsers to log back in again. It's a joke. It's bad enough that Pret's have nobbled the subscription, but I'm getting the impression they're running everything on a shoestring & obsessing over margins rather than providing quality products with decent service. Do yourself a favour & go to another coffee shop. It's not as if there's no choice out there, afterall.

Situated on the high street of Epsom, which is good for a sandwich. They have a very good selection of light meals. Service is friendly and efficient.

A well run branch of Pret with friendly staff preparing nice coffee, but its biggest failing is the number of people they allow to buy one drink and sit at a table for ages using the free wifi. There is no room for customers who want to pop in and sit for 30 mins with a coffee and snack - we have personally now given up and left several times because its full if people on laptops with an empty an cup in front of them.

Decent set of sandwiches. This is a nice place at which to grab a quick lunch on the go as well. The place is not huge but there is adequate seating and at least the tables are clean. Service is not too bad either. They do a lot of excellent soups in addition here.

Typical Pret A Mangers, with OK service & food but the music! Yea Gods what were they thinking? It's music is way, way too loud, & incredibly irritating, being as it comprises, mainly, of 3rd rate techno pop, Indie rock & Drum 'N Bass "Toonz". It's the sort of garbage you'd find in an inner-city branch of McDonalds' or a 3rd rate high-school prom. Maybe, whoever is in charge of such things at Pret-A-Manger Towers has forgotten it's a coffee-shop, frequented by all ages, not solely by hormonal pre-teens who have a habit of waring their bass-ball caps back to front?

Service was attrocious, was extremely nasty to elderly which is the last thing that should be happening during a global pandemic. Specifically a staff member called Violetta who may I add was the manager of this chain... screamed at customers and made them feel unwelcomed. Food was decent but that was probably because the food comes packaged... Should spend more time and energy on learning kindness then yelling at people
