Pret A Manger in Tunbridge Wells

Incredible how this place makes money. Hottest day of the year and they can’t make iced drinks. Opted for a simple latte as I was now committed. Quick sale, painful wait for the latte…… people stood around doing nothing, yet I had to extend my parking by App to wait for my drink. First and last visit.

I just love the Pret baguettes! The Italian ham ones my favourite. Plus the coffee is usually decent. This was the purpose of our visit. Arrived at around 12:150. The cafe was packed. The seating was almost full, there were queues for the tills and drinks. Lots of people trying to look at the food offerings at the same time. I grabbed my sandwich and went to the till to order a coffee. I was served really quickly- there were 4 till people on. Then i joined a longer queue to pick up my coffee. I could only see 2 “baristas” so the wait was slightly longer. I think I eventually got my drink at around 12:35. This included getting food and paying too. Seating upstairs and downstairs. We found a clean table downstairs and relaxed for a while. Lots of people were looking for seats during our visit. It was chaotic, but calm at the same time. One thing I did notice, and appreciated, was the fact their sugar stations had every sugar faced up and lined up. Either someone has too much time on their hands, or this is a very pleasing standard.

Met a friend for coffee in Pret today. The only option was have the drink in a single use cup with a plastic lid. Shocking.

Visited for a coffee and ordered non dairy option, got home to find out it was dairy. Went back in and was told 'it'd have a sticker if it was an alternative' as if I should know, & 'maybe I picked up someone else's drink', to which I informed them I was the only open order in the shop at the time. The barista begrudgingly said they'd replace the coffee whilst walking away from me, I then had to wait in a big old queue to get it. Walked away feeling as if it was my fault that they got my order wrong - just poor service and attitude tbh. My final coffee was scalding hot and un-holdable let alone a drinkable, quality coffee.

Sat in for sandwich and coffee today. Tables filthy, no cleaning in between uses, floor needed sweeping - lots of dropped food. Really disappointing at any time but expected better during covid.

Was in there this morning. All I had to pay with was a paper £20 note, and some loose change. They refused to accept the £20, as it was 'old style'. The weird thing about that is that the old notes have not been removed from circulation, according to the Bank of England's website. lucky for me, I could cover the cost from the scraped together change...

Popped in for a coffee but was really not nice. Found the coffee to be bitter and not very strong. Have always been happy until today’s coffee, which was very disappointing

Just wanted a quick coffee and pastry, decided to visit here for a change.Excellent fast service, coffee amazing and a mouthwatering Almond Croissant made this ideal for me on a Sunday morning.Great Barista who combined speed with efficiency!Its clean tidy and inviting!I will visit again!

Reasonable quality and reasonable prices. The staff are nice. The environment is clean and quite comfortable. I recommend going downstairs for a quieter experience.

A cup of hot soup and delicious toast are always great at Pret a Manger. Anyway, the service was a bit loose.

If you don't want to dive into TW's wealth of privately owned coffee shops, then Pret is the one to go for. It's location is perfect with plenty of seating. Plus Pret do fab lunch food.

Pret is always one of the most consistent outlets for lunch and snacks, the food is always fresh and with plenty of dietary choices. This particular Pret has plenty of seats in a comfortable and clean environment and is a good choice provided you don't mind the less than enthusiastic or welcoming service from some of the counter staff.

This restaurant really needs a wake up call. The food is good, but that goes without saying. It's consistent across the chain (that's how chains work) and that's why so many of us eat at Pret - we know what to expect in terms of flavour and quality.But there are big problems with staff and service. With a few exceptions, the staff are surly, barely look at you when they serve you, and you're lucky if you get a smile or a 'thank you'. Perhaps this tells us something about what Pret are like as an employer? Decently paid staff who are treated with respect tend to be happy and polite.Hygiene is the other big problem. There is often food debris on the floor - which is bound to happen, Pret is popular with young families - but it needs to be cleared up pronto. It is left there far too long, the other day for half an hour until flies were circling.The tables also are often left covered in food, if you ask the staff they will grudgingly come and wipe them - BUT we shouldn't have to ask.I'm sorry, Pret, but the way it looks is that you are complacent about your success, happy to take our money and provide lazy and lacklustre service in return. Use some of those huge profits to hire more staff and pay them properly, and you'll end up with much happier customers.

There is a reason why the little dark haired guy is always making the coffee rather than taking the orders. He is so miserable and moody #attitude

This was our go-to place while visiting Britain, a fast food place, but with a twist: everything on offer was as fresh and healthy as it could possibly be. Baguettes, creative salads, healthy deserts, top notch coffee, and as the name implies, all ready to go. We found outlets everywhere, rail stations and the smallest towns.

Saw pret a manager situated on the corner on a rainy day in March which was a great sight to see as their range of food products suited the variety of dietary needs.

Quick service, friendly staff, lovely food as always. One of my top picks for lunchtime. I usually go for the salmon and cream cheese sandwich. They have no bread sandwiches.

Clean, friendly, spacious, good atmosphere - but not too noisy so we could still hear ourselves talking ! impressive available food there, with so many options for special requirements but I love trying them anyway!

Love Pret and love this one. Brilliantly run and the staff are excellent. They remember what you like, fill up the shelves super quick, it's clean and there's lots of light and space. The only thing, it can be very hard to hear your conversation - something about the acoustics.

I visit this venue daily , sometimes twice a day ! Coffee ready in the morning, food always fresh and tasty. Staff and managers alike have the autonomy to give the extra service to customers, delighting them every time..

I get my lunch from this Pret every working day (and the occasional necessary caffeine fix) and the staff are always cheerful and friendly.

Don’t get me wrong - I love Pret’s food and use them wherever I go BUT today I think I’ll change to Bills or somewhere else for lunch. The service in the Tunbridge Wells Branch is appalling and today’s pulling teeth job was icing on the cake. I wanted the Hot Pulled Pork Dish and nicely asked the girl if there were mushrooms in it as I am allergic. She just looked at me blankly and said she didn’t think so because it was pork. Well that told me! I asked, nicely again if she could check with someone as my allergy was quite severe. This obviously sparked off an irritation as a disgruntled man told her to look in the book as he pointed to the cupboard – as she was opening the cupboard he told her not to bother as it probably wouldn’t be in there. They said they didn’t know!

Popped in here during a stressful "back to school" shop (my poor bank a/c!). Very helpful, kind staff & a lovely coffee.

A lovely coffee shop near the centre of Tunbridge Wells. Beautiful decor, tasty coffee and cake and friendly staff with excellent service. Currently sat here drinking coffee whilst my tablet charges. Warm, comfy & cosy....a compete contrast to the weather outside! Highly recommend! :)

We went there for breakfast and tea one morning. The interior is very relaxing with a mixture of seating furnutre. It has no waiter service at your table. You have to order your food and drinks at the counter and carry it to your table, this is a drawback for a place which located at the center of the main shopping area of Tunbridge wells. Neverless the place is clean, and there are memberes of staff who attend to cleaning the tables after you.

Visiting Pret is always a good experience. Its perfect when you need some healthy lunch quickly, and its a welcome change from Costa! Its a nicely fitted out branch, and nice to spend half an hour here.

Good quality, well run, clean, light and airy. Location ideal, right in centre of town. What more do you need!

I stopped here with my wife and 3 boys for a quick lunch. The food was good we had sandwiches, soup, crisps and a soft drink and it came to just over £20.00's Food was good and the restaurant was clean and tidy with nice interior design. The staff were really friendly an helpful as well.

Good to see the new Pret in Tunbridge Wells, and I loved the modern decor and glass windows for people watching. A good coffee as always and a nice environment.

This was most enjoyable, after my bad experience at Cote which I wrote about earlier, this was perfect. Delicious light lunch of avocado salad, excellent dressing and fresh crisp salad, then a quality choc mousse.. The service was kind and caring, to the extent of finding me a table and carrying my tray. Very comfortable leather chairs and an unrushed and very pleasant relaxing atmosphere. Food was of high quality and very fairly priced, I shall certainly visit again soon.

This Pret seems unable to get a full range of sandwiches out by 10 AM.

I've always been a fan of Pret. This one is typically friendly and helpful. The Cappuccinos are always the best (though I have noticed a stronger burnt taste in the last year).

Overall - an average experience, nothing negative to say except that some of the staff take their time to get things done..

As a frequent visitor to this coffee shop, I cannot complain about the quality of my drink, they have been presented beautifully and tasted great each time-that's why I always return. Although, visited last Saturday, having to wait for a drink I noticed one barista only, and the queue until the door. There were 2 persons on the till shouting drinks one after another and one person meant to do them. This seemed like a massive short staffed. Just to mention, it was SATURDAY, and the first sunny saturday from ages. I then had my coffee nearby the tills and noticed that it wasnt just a temporary couple of minutes of a queue, but long period of time without the sufficient staff at the coffee section. I don't really mind waiting, but saturday lunch time isn't a great day to save money on the staff.

My wife and I have made two recent visits to this new branch and on both ocassions were surprised at the poor service.The queueing arrangement encourages queue jumping made worse by what seemed to be a lack of staff, unusual at a Pret.The drink collection area gives a chaotic impression. On both our visits the more mature barista was more concerned with chatting up young female customers than making coffee for anyone else.The coffee when served in an off hand matter was very strong indeed and I like my coffee strong.

I have always been a big fan of Pret. They always have much nicer sandwiches than the usual high street lot. But the sandwiches in the new store in Tunbridge Wells just simply dont seem to be as good as any I've had before. I've just had a Cheese, Onion baguette that was smothered in a rather unpleasant and over powering pickle and filled with sun blushed tomatoes, that can only be described as slimey, making the whole experience rather, well, yuk, quite frankly.
