I’ve never had a worse coffee, didn’t even use fresh grounds

A horror. Not to mention the service and food but this place is completely dirty. It's obvious that they haven't cleaned in years. It should be closed.

You need a whole afternoon to have lunch here. Took 30 mins for food to arrive after tea in paper cups had been served. Food was very basic and toasties came on cheap supermarket bread. Meagre filling on panini and panini served and finished before toasties arrived. No atmosphere. Don’t go

1: Service took ages: it took 40 minutes to get a very basic sandwich. 2: Sandwich wasn’t totally terrible but was made using supermarket bread and was tiny. 3: Mums panini which was said to have peppers on it had two pieces of pepper each the size of a postage stamp in it. 4: Strange decor and lacked atmosphere. I don’t want this review to be just a list of complaints but there is very little I can say to redeem this place. Cakes looked good I suppose.

Things that occur quicker than the service in this cafe: the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, the mating cycle of the Giant Panda, the melting of the polar ice caps, the evolution of man, the creation and release of Guns and Roses sixth record “Chinese Democracy”.

We are regular customers here, my children, myself and my dog, everybody is happy with the food and mainly with the service, makes you feel really welcome and comfortable. Thanks for that! Highly recommended place.

Very odd place run by an odd old man who clearly has zero hospitality experience … he only took our orders after we asked him - coffee was dreadful - scrambled eggs were microwaved and he did everything one by one hence it takes 30 minutes to get breakfast served from order even though we were the only ones in the whole place! It’s something out of faulty towers

Appallingly slow service. By the time your cold, weak coffee arrived you had grown a long white beard, and that included some of the ladies too. A couple of owners ago this was the best cafe on Bellevue Road. The last owner was clueless and the place has been closed now for several weeks. I'm not in the slightest bit surprised.

I only had a coffee here. Pretty dreadful, I just had to throw it away. Service like others have mentioned is particularly slow. Shame.

Very pleasant place looking over Wandsworth common, especially on a nice day

terrible food, they brought out plain pancakes without the fruit, a full english without the juice or hot drink it said it came with and the avocado on toast was just awful...warm bread instead of toast and bread that was fit only for the pigeons. All ordered together and came out about 10 mins apart so all essentially ate on our own. Highly disappointed.

Unpretentious cafe. Nice smoothies and milkshake. Coffee ok-ish buy that was not a flatwhite 😉

Went for lunch food was dreadful and very expensive Person who served was very rude. Totally miss leading and attitude was take it or leave it. Never will go there again.

Went in for brunch and won’t be going back. Ordered avocado on toast and received two slices of brown toast with the thinnest layer of avocado with no seasoning at all. Asked for chorizo on the side and it came with sliced chorizo which had been chopped up and put on top. The person who runs this doesn’t have a clue about food. It’s such a simple thing to get right but I feel ripped off having paid 8.50 including a pre made smoothie. If you expect brunch don’t bother. Such a shame because it’s such a great location. It just doesn’t match up to brunch you can find elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Great tasting food and nice location opposite the common. Good menu selection with lots of breakfast and lunchtime options. Excellent value for money and friendly service.

Coffee nice but service a bit haphazard - maybe inexperienced staff? - and food really no good. Bacon baguette literally dry baguette with bacon inside, not even any butter or salad within. Side salad browning leaves and sliced olives from a jar. Didn't have cakes which looked ok though.

This review comes after discussions with several local residents and workers who have used Prestige in the past few months and who are in agreement with the opinions expressed here. The review is not intended as a negative attack but as a driver for positive change. There is a huge demand for a local eatery that can provide an imaginative menu with a variety of wholesome dishes and snacks for breakfast and lunch. There is only one realistic competitor in the area which is always crowded, often with queues outside, in contrast to Prestige which never has queues and almost always has several empty tables. A change of menu from the current outdated offerings to an up-to-date imaginative range of well cooked dishes would attract a large and grateful clientele. My wife and I regularly dine out at lunch with friends but sadly Prestige is not our go-to venue. The restaurant is in a prime location with beautiful views over Wandsworth Common and has the potential for customers queuing to get in. Please, Mr Owner, seize the opportunity. If you would like to post a reply I am prepared to engage in dialogue.

Good morning, I was in your restaurant some minutes ago. I have ordered 1 cappuccino and it was very good. The employer took my order, he was very polite and kind with me. After 40 minutes that I spent in the bar/restaurant the employee came to me to tell that I have to order something else because I spent 40 minutes there and I took just 1 cappuccino ...1) no one told me that i can have the table for only 45 minuter, 2) the bar was empty...there was just me and another Lady. So what is the point? Anyway, I ordered pain with chocolate.. and i ask to warm it... she answered that it was already cooked (really?????) so I ask again to warm it.... in a very polite way and after that, she snorted in my face she did it! then she was not able to use the card machine... my card has been accepted (i have a Monzo card...with an application that reports any payment!I paid ...indeed she gave me 2 receipts: one with an approved payment and another 1 with an avoid payment...) I ask her to check again because it was a really not clear situation, so I paid..... But she told me in a very unpolite way "we do not need costumer like you, please leave this place, now!" Luckily, there was another guest there that saw the situation...the lady was shocked about that and started to tell to this employee that she did not tell us about time and that she was rude with me without any reason!! She recognized (the guest) that I was really polite and that the employee was crazy!!!!! We left the place together...and now the place is empty!!! Are you happy about that????? I just asked for more information.....and she attacked me!!! (the employer was not in the place...) so this review is for the employer that was very very nice with me -...please, hire someone that is able to do this job otherwise, your place will be empty !!

A 20 minute wait for a rather l7mpy Italian hot chocolate rather let it down, especially as others got their orders ahead of mine and another customer was given the wrong drink completely. I like to support the independent coffee shops but wish I had gone to Cafe Nero.

I ordered a panini after a 20min wait, I collect my food to find it was just a sandwich, had not been put under the grill. So I take it back and show them, the person said yeah it is warm. I then asked if it could be placed under the grill as a panini would normally be made, They placed it there for maybe 1 minute by this time I was wound up(his excuse was the fact that they had used greaseproof paper), and walked out with a cold sandwich!!!!!!! Simple instructions from a basic overpriced menu that cant be met, sad times!!!

The best thing about Prestige is the view of Wandsworth Common and it is not too expensive considering the area. If you like really good coffee I suggest you go somewhere else like Flotsam and jetsam down the road. The cappuccinos have been poor quality. It is okay if you just want a coffee fix. I don't find the staff that friendly. One of them in particular is quite rude. I went there around 11:30am one morning and chose Prestige as I wanted to have a coffee and do work while sitting by the window overlooking the Common. She told me I couldn't sit near the window as I wasn't ordering food and made me sit down the back in the darker area by the toilet. She was also rude on a previous visit so I decided not to go back ever again. The food is basic but nice enough.

This restaurant has a lovely view out over the common and should be perfect for a mid-morning coffee. I sat and waited for 10 minutes in an EMPTY restaurant while TWO waiting staff cleaned tables that were already clean and chatted to each other but did not come near me or meet my eye let alone ask me what I wanted. I left - there are several other coffee shops on the same road!

Good food, nice place to spend time with friends and family. Wide variety of menu and it keeps changing seasonally which is great. A lot of teas sourced from harrods and fruit smoothies.

Prestige is a great local cafe... My tried and tested favourite lunch is a jacket potato (surprisingly difficult to find these days) and their cakes are perfect for dessert! I’m always on the look out for scraps of croque monsieur if my partner can’t finish hers :-) And it’s all excellent value too. I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t rate the hot drinks but you’d definitely find a very tasty meal at this cafe!

Recientemente han comenzado a ir a prestige sólo por su café me encanta su personal es muy amable. Es bueno tener personal alrededor que hacen que su día sea agradable. Un día mi café no era lo que yo quería que se volviese a la cafetería y el gerente no sólo acepte su error, pero sonrió y también apreciamos mi comentario.

My favourite go to place for sure, i love the food and the coffee. They have got good varieties of teas and cakes, great place to sit in afternoon as it is facing towards the common which is very scenic.

awful quite agressive service from staff. had to wait a long time for our coffee and then they got the order wrong, then rude about exchanging it for the right order. coffee wasnt even that nice in the end.

Llamé para café y un descanso antes de almorzar en Chez Bruce, bajando la calle. Había una gran variedad de tés, café y pasteles frescos encantadora y pasteles recién hechos. Ambiente agradable con una mezcla de locales y visitantes. Precios razonables. Vale la pena una visita

My friend and I are walking the Capital Ring and stopped here for a quick break. My friend had an individual apple strudel and I had a rocky road type slice - both were delicious. We were made to feel very welcome and I am sorry that we were only passing and do not live around the corner from this lovely café.

Me rajo en mi marido y tiró su desayuno en él diciéndole delante de otros clientes, no para pedir el desayuno a las 1 pm, aunque tenían nos dio el menú de desayuno y no había tiempo de corte.

Not sure why there are bad reviews about this great place we are regular patrons the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The coffee is lovely and the food menu varied, plentiful and the items I have tried have always been lovely. There is always a great selection of home made cakes too a very welcome change to the chains that are popping up everywhere. We won't hesitate in continuing to use this as our regular coffee emporium!!

I liked this café. It was clean and relaxed. Some of the staff could be seen as being a bit insular, but this is a cosmopolitan area and different people have different characteristics. The coffee took a bit longer but was well worth it. The menu seemed interesting. Will try again.

I live round the corner and normally always pop out on a Saturday for a quick bite. I've visited Prestige twice now and shan't be going back. Both times the staff were very unfriendly and I honestly felt unwelcome and as though I had interrupted something. The second time I decided to leave my order. Try Rotisserie de Paris just down the road, awesome staff and amazing food!

To say this place is very hit and miss is a massive understatement!I recently went for lunch here with my family and the quality of the food service was so extremely different it was just bizarre! I had salmon club sandwich which was absolutely delicious however, two of the other meals were truly awful. One was a bacon and egg panini which had BOTH bacon and "wafer thin ham Barbara" (if you don't watch the Royle Family, you won't get that reference) in it - what is that all about?! Another meal was a sausage sandwich where the sausages did not look fit for human consumption - they looked and tasted foul! How can a place get it so right and so wrong all at the same time?

I once visited this place during my morning walk and was I surprised by their atmosphere. It's a place where you can sit back relax whilst enjoying their excellent customer service. Ciabata was excusite and the amaricano was smooth. Visit regularly now

The lunchtime food was very good but the staff did not seem to cope very well when there were two or three customers coming in at once. The table service was not very good and when we eventually ordered our food, it took more than an average time to arrive. We were then searching around for our own condiments, which were not offered when he food arrived. A somewhat 'take it or leave it'. There also seems to be a problem in giving tap water to customers despite purchasing lunch and coffees.Unfortunately in the restaurant trade little things mean a lot and this experience could jeopardise customers visiting again.

Prestige on Bellevue Road is on a brilliant spot and urge everyone to try it! There are lots of eateries in the area, but this is great and cannot recommend it highly enough. It serves a wide range of cakes and pastries and there is an amazing savoury menu with paninis, sandwiches, pasta dishes and salads - all made to order. The range of breads and rolls is huge and includes unusual things that are not easy to find in the UK, such as faluche bread. The sandwich menu has lots of delicious options, but you can also choose your own combination, with lovely hot fillings such as chicken goujons, roasted peppers, chorizo, goats cheese. the list goes on. The smoothies on offer are also excellent and unusual. The cakes are superb, especially the millionaire's shortbread! The owner is a lovely man who is so welcoming and always remembers us even if we have not visited for six months or more. I wish there were more cafes where I could get such delicious sandwiches

Eager to try my local cafe especially since I had won a coupon for it a couple months earlier at a local fate. When I tried to use my voucher the staff told me they would not accept it, she had issued it to long ago and didn't want it. I tried to point out the voucher had no expiry date & I had won it a couple months earlier in a raffle. She was adamant she would not accept it despite what I had to say & didn't want the business. Terrible attitude and rude staff, I won't be supporting this local.

It is always a delight to come here and eat their food or have their drinks. The range is great and the service is always with a smile. You know it is popular when you ave regular locals in there chatting and having fun.
