Filthy glasses, only 1 IPA on draft

Ordered two burgers with my partner. Honestly the worst cheap looking burger I’ve ever had. Use to be such good food here would always go. Haven’t been for a while not sure if it’s new owners but food was rank. The young lady at the bar was friendly and polite how ever so the rating does not go towards her. Only the food and pub in general

We had a lovely evening in the Secret Garden. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a deluxe saucy burger absolutely delicious. Watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics- Holiday season, so quieter than normal. Lovely staff. Will be back.

I only had a drink here. Wanted food but it's not available until 6pm. It has a shabby-chic vibe but is a bit too shabby. (See the pic of the ripped seat)

Staff very friendly, amazing food. Small plates are very affordable and absolutely scrumptious. Calamari and chicken wings with the house made American BBQ sauce were a winner!!

This place has gone downhill big time. The staff are clueless and not friendly, absolutely dead and no atmosphere. Hardly any drinks available at the bar, there used to be a big selection of wine The place has clearly been neglected. Lazy staff sitting around doing nothing when there are dirty tables that need clearing. Food used to be fantastic and now it's small portions, and average quality and greasy. Copying the American trend rather than the unique South African cuisine Very disappointing. Asked about paying through the app and the staff had no idea nor much care about finding out about it. To the owners reply, I have the app here and it shows I used it in December 2023 so not sure why you say it's not been used for 2 years. First time coming into the Park Tavern today after hearing how amazing the roasts are. I had the pork belly roast, crackling was so tasty and on point! Been a long time since I’ve had such a high quality roast. Potatoes were nice crispy and Yorkshire’s were divine. Great portion sizes! The rose wine was really light and refreshing. The bar staff were very smiley and welcoming. Will be back for the American BBQ on Saturday can’t wait to try their brisket! The garden is also so beautiful!

This used to be a gem of a local. Now it's sad and unwelcoming. Apathetic and unhelpful staff - drinks weren't made with care and the place has clearly gone down hill. Dirty cups and plates outside not cleared. The barmaid clearly trying her best but the other member of staff sat on her phone at the bar looking miserable. Unfriendly atmosphere - won't be returning sadly.

I only stopped here to have a quick drink before an appointment. It has a rustic vibe, but one of the seats was a bit too rustic - it was actually ripped. They need to sort that out. I would have liked to try the food, but unfortunately, no food is available until 6pm.

This has to be one of the worst pubs I have ever frequented. We popped in around 10.20pm and asked for a drink, only to be told last orders on a Saturday night. I asked for a southern comfort, a vodka with a bottle of coke in two whisky glasses only to be told they only had one whisky glass, no bottles of coke only the coke dispenser. The coke was like syrup and spoiled the drinks. I would advise anyone to avoid this pub like the plague. The atmosphere was awful, upholstery badly in need of a serious upgrade and carpets that stick to your feet. Better going to the Gardeners or Earl Spencer for a more relaxing and enjoyable drink. Out of many reviews I have posted, this is my very first negative post.

Amazing food, amazing service, so nice to come to an INDEPENDENT pub, chicken burger was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, the fries were triple cooked and made by hand. Combined with amazing service, and bags of atmosphere and charm, this pub is a total winner, a real diamond within London. They are awesome. Thanks

We held a family gathering here for a special birthday, and we had a fabulous time. All the staff, in particular Stephen, were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We decorated it ourselves and the space was good

A warm and friendly local pub with a lovely feel to it. The log fire was lit when we visited, and it felt quite cosy.

For a Friday night the place was dead. The festive burger wasn't great and gimmicky. The bun was burnt and shouldn't have even left the kitchen, the burger patty itself was one of the worst, hard and compacted, dry with no flavour. Compared to a Young's pub burger as an example. Additionally no SA bar snacks like biltong or droerwors. Disappointed to say the least.

Tucked away with one of the best roasts I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in years. Followed by the recommendation of a springbok shot - beautifully cooked pork belly with a bone broth gravy and all the trimmings. Despite being busy and during the festive period we had brilliant table service, wonderful food and the gorgeous chef Jess came and checked everything was in order. We will be back - thanks so much Xx

Went for a celebration meal out with friends and family. The pub was holding a thanksgiving special and we enjoyed the excellent platters of food provided. Including turkey, ham, sweet potatoes and lots of veg. This came with a pleasant glass of house wine and puddings. Really good value at £25 per head. Service was friendly and prompt ( Simone and her colleague were knowledgeable and helpful in our wine selection). There was live music later in the evening which we all enjoyed very much. Great night out. Would definitely go again

We live in the area and have always enjoyed The Park Tavern but recently they have stepped up their game! From walking in the door and getting a warm friendly greeting from Joey behind the bar to Jess in the kitchen cooking one of the best steaks ive had in a long time! The vibe is back and i highly recommended popping in for a drink and some grub!!

We had Sunday roast here today and it was such a pleasant experience all around. The food was delicious and the staff were so attentive and helpful. We are looking forward to visiting it again for live music night!

I have had a lot of roasts in Southwest London and this was genuinely the best

I love it here! The staff are really kind, approachable and so willing to help, especially Simone! The food is absolutely incredible, with big portions and, although the vegan selection is small, the chef is more than willing to accommodate any dietary needs. I would definitely recommend going, even if it's just to see the beautiful building and emu mural!

Went on a quiet evening. We had cosy seats in front of the fire and the split the braai meat platter. The food was delicious (shout out to Jess the chef) and the wine was ideal. Would highly recommend for an evening out.

Utterly terrible. The bar smells like sewerage Booked 2 weeks in advance to watch the rugby World Cup, only to arrive on the day to find that our table was outside and completely unusable. Incredibly rude manager Avoid the Park Tavern at all costs

Really great atmosphere for the rugby! Outdoor garden is under cover and has heaters and fires put on after dark. The food was really good, and there was a good selection of wines and beers. Highly recommend.

Very friendly place and lovely staff

The pub is not equipped to host rugby matches outside. The heaters do not work and the sound is not in sync with the tv. Extremely upsetting. The staff are extremely stressed and over worked.

The Park Tavern, my god, what a place! What I night I had! The moment you walk in you feel you are family. The drinks were crisp and cold as ice, the food steaming and tastes like a chorus of angels. The service couldn’t have been better in the hall of a king. Simone and Duncan are masters of their craft. If you are anywhere near London, you must find yourself in the Park Tavern or live always with regret.

The brai was excellent, roast pork was some of the best I've ever had!

The pub isn't capable of hosting events, we watched the SA vs Ireland game, the speakers outside don't work, so you can't hear anything. We waited around 35min to order a drink and the food portion size is quite small, the quality is good but not worth the price. Very disappointed that such a big sports pub can't cater to people during a match game.

Had a lovely evening watching the rugby. We all enjoyed our dinner and the staff were all lovely. It is a great spot if you want to enjoy a South African atmosphere

Booked a South African pub to watch the Springboks play in the Rugby World Cup. Added bonus to eat SA food and be surrounded by beautiful South African people. Booked a table outside - was promised a big screen to watch the match….the reality was a smaller TV than I have at home with NO sound - super disappointing. The staff tried their best and the food was very good/super tasty (wine very expensive and average - not much choice - sweet rosè :( ) but this review is to please appeal to the Manager - it’s a simple fix - you are advertising showing the Rugby World Cup - it’s a South African game in a South African pub - get the volume working!!!! It’s the least your clientele would expect and it’s letting you down when you have such great staff and an outside Braai - both very unusual in London pubs 😊

This pub has become a favorite of mine. I never really had halloumi before but Jess makes an AMAZING halloumi salad, but everything I tried here has been equally as amazing. All the staff are so lovely specifically Simone and Joey. The general manager Steven is very helpful and friendly. Overall they have made me a very loyal costumer!

Great place, with a lot of potential. Went to watch a rugby game today as a group. Staff were not prepared for the rush of people and the management ( I believe to be an American man ) really didn't know how to help them or boost them. Staff tried their best and still managed a smile. Ran out of glasses and all orders were getting cancelled, forcing people to go to the bar, where the manager was more in the way, than a help to his staff. Hopefully next time there's better planning, cause it's an awesome venue to watch at, and could be so much better

Came because we were excited to try the boerewors sausage roll. One bartender told us they weren't available, but my friends were able to order them no problem. Also ordered halloumi, billed as a large halloumi "served with salad", but received about 6 pieces of halloumi on a full salad. Lastly we ordered a watermelon and feta salad, but there was no feta and the melon was not normal watermelon, so I was unfortunately allergic to it. Generally really disappointed, disjoined service.

Had an absolute blast there last night, Jess (head chef) was bubbly and happy to help with any questions, the staff as a whole were amazing, would highly recommend it again, thanks for an amazing evening

Why do your opening hours change depending on your mood I walked in today a Saturday when usually you are open till midnight to be told sorry we called last orders already and this at 10pm you wanna run your business down in the ground you are going the right way about it the Earl Spencer and the gardeners are not too far and they are thriving and welcoming I was told sorry we are closed at 9.30pm before just what kind of pub are you?oh wait don't answer you won't be here for long. It was heaving at the bar when we first arrived. At first we kinda felt out of place and wasn’t too sure whether we could have just walked in and sat down anywhere. Initially it was a little awkward and we all looked at each other to say shall we just find somewhere else? Literally as soon as that thought process came to our minds, a lovely lady waved at us from across the bar and directed us to the garden. She said to make ourselves at home, to find a table and how we could order through the app. We decided to order burgers and oh my goodness do we regret not ordering the platter after her recommending it to us! When she brought it out to a table near us, our mouths were drooling!!!! However the burgers we got were absolutely spot on! Chicken was so succulent! We even had fussy eaters with no pickles etc the chef got everything spot on 11/10! Will be back for the platter soon!!!!

Mixed emotions. I've been to the park tavern a few time and it's the choice of pub when there is a SA rugby game on. Decent vibe, I won't deny that. I had booked a table for a group of friends for this week's game. Received an email 2 days ago that my reservation had been cancelled. No reason given. I emailed them 3 times to get an explanation and to have the booking reinstated. No answer. ..and they are usually good at getting back to my emails in within a day. So unfortunately, if I don't get my reservation back for this weekends game.. I'll go down to my second option which is also a South African pub, and likely never go to the park tavern again. #customerlost

The food was so good and it came quick. The boerewors sausage was so juice I loved the roast to it was so good.

Went there for the first time yesterday and it was so good! The chef, Jess, cooked us amazing meals. Drinks come to the table after you order off the website, was a really good experience overall!

Great pub. Casual atmosphere. Nice clean beer lines. Good prices for the area. Nick, the amazing guy he is helped sort out my brother when his phone fell between the smallest gap on the decking. Here on a birthday party. All staff were amazing and friendly but props to nick. 100% recommend for food, drinks and great staff all round

Honestly have to say me, my wife and children had the best experience here. The staff were very friendly and attentive even though they were busy they still took a moment to explain the wine to us. Upon ordering we asked about certain items on the new menu due to allergies, the head chef personally come out herself and answered any questions we needed to know. The food was absolutely to die for! The new pizza was intriguing so we decided to give it ago and we was not disappointed!! The kids loved their food too and was quiet the whole time whilst eating which was a massive bonus too!! Also I can’t believe that their back garden is so large and such a beautiful hidden gem!!! Perfect too because it is off the main road so we didn’t have to worry about the children or our dog running off into the road! We are coming back this Sunday for the braai roast, can’t wait to try the slow cooked pork belly!

Pizza, (if you can call it that) was awful, Piri Piri Chicken burger was tasteless and overcooked, no pickles or onions. Chips were bland & Sausage was nothing I couldn’t buy from Tesco! Nothing SA Braai about this food. My family have been coming to the Park Tavern for £40+ years, we won’t be returning. Wine was lovely as was young lady who served us.

I don't know what has happened to this pub. It's always been a great place to go, but the new owners are ruining it. Closing at 10. Food barely edible, beers always seem to not be available, fridges empty. The staff are nice, but whatever is going on needs to be sorted asap

May I thank simone and nick for their kindness, I was struggling to walk due to my big toe on my right foot. They were very kind to me and gave me some water and let me use their loo.

After looking forward to trying this “gastro” pubs roast dinner I really would recommend IN NOT ordering one from there. It was very below a good standard. No mustard or horse radish either.

It’s a fine place - just don’t go expecting feeling like you’ll be back home in SA. It just doesn’t have that sort of gomgatjie pub vibe I was looking for

I recently had the pleasure of eating here The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the beer selection was vast. I was especially impressed by the creative twists the chefs put on traditional pub food; it was clear they had put a lot of thought into the menu. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a unique and tasty experience.

We made a special journey to visit here only to be very disappointed at the extremely limited menu. The burger and chips came on a side plate, which tells you how small it was, and although it was delicious, it did not merit the cost of £14!!! When we went to pay, we were told the prices had changed from what was printed on the drinks menu and had to pay extra, surely that would be false advertising?!?! Positives: It is a beautiful venue and the waitress was very friendly. Sadly the menu is too limited and the prices totally over the top which spoiled the visit.

Friendly waitron staff… Unfortunately very disappointed by the food and menu. After following their Instagram page for quite some time and being impressed with the food selection and quality that was being presented, I decided to make the trip through to experience some of the South African food and atmosphere that was being advertised… Much to my dismay, the food menu is a joke and the portion sizes were not at all deserving of their cost either. We were told that there is a new chef, hence the limited menu… This is a poor excuse as any chef that you would expect to be working at an establishment of this size and notoriety should be able to prepare a far better menu selection, and the fact that they are incapable of this should be advertised so that people don’t make a special trip through only to be disappointed. The Tavern is aimed at South African foods and vibe, but these are severely lacking. On the positive side the establishment itself is beautiful and well maintained with a cozy beer garden. To the management: Please make a focused effort to advertise when you are operating at the same level as you are marketed, as I would really like to experience the authentic Park Tavern vibe.

After looking forward to visiting Park Tavern for ages, our visit yesterday was very disappointing. There was an extremely limited menu, with barely any of the South African delicacies we were so looking forward to. The portions were far smaller than expected, with the portabello burger definitely not being worth the £14 price tag. We were also charged different prices for the drinks as to what were shown on the menu. The waitering staff and pub itself were lovely but the food was unfortunately a let down.

Poor tasting food, small, long wait, minimal choice. As a family from SA heritage, it was a real shame.

Poor experience 1. I ordered the cheese burger, and the burger and french fries were not cooked with the fresh oil. I had just few bites, but my fingers smell like burnt oil. 2. I saw a little rat on the floor. 3. I told the staff this and he said, “oh, shit” but nothing more. I got an impression that they already knew it.

After having been turned away from the Gardeners up the road by cold and disinterested staff who clearly wanted to go home my friends and I arrived at the Park Tavern. Wow, Adrian was immediately welcoming and the vibe intoxicating. We ordered our drinks, one of which was not quite right but was immediately rectified without any fuss, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. Lovely place.

Adrian is a legend and a Saffa in sheep’s clothing !!!! The most welcoming barman I’ve met in a long time! Will 100% be back to support the pub and this true legend!!!

We went for a drink this weekend and the place is very nice. Beer was fresh and we really enjoyed. Nice terrace as well in the back

Not sure if it was just the Christmas lunch we had there. Meals took forever. Two came after everyone else finished. Portions really small given the price. Left feeling hungry. The cheese board for £10 was an absolute joke (Two crumbled cheeses with chutney and some grapes.) To be fair they did give us two meals for free. But still the cheese board really irked me.

A great little pub with loads of potential, but poor management meant that the booking I made for a rugby game was reserved. The boerewors roll was tasty, but took so long to be delivered that the taste was forgotten. There are better venues in Wandsworth.

It's the work local, the food from the Braai is so tasty, good food deals too.

Went yesterday evening, a Friday night, for drinks and a catch up with friends. Evening ruined by two young children running around without their shoes on, screaming, with a poor dog getting pulled around. My friend tripped over the lead and almost dropped her drink. Parents not supervising whatsoever and didn’t care that their children were disrupting everyone’s evening. This is a pub, not a park. We left after one drink and headed to The Earl Spencer and had a lovely meal there instead. Wouldn’t bother going back to The Park Tavern as it was too chaotic.

Returned here recently and was very even more impressed. Our bartender was Martha, who wowed us with her excellent mixology , professionalism and kindness. There was a strange orangey aroma near the till/counting robot thing, so I docked one point off the atmosphere.

I cane at 6pm on a Saturday and all ales and several of their beers were not working. Very poor selection and very expensive. Staff said well it’s a Saturday, our beers sell out but 6/11 pumps feels like quite a big sell off for an average Saturday!

Great friendly saffa atmosphere, especially when springboks play. Great beer garden. One star down only because I had a boerewors roll and chips. Boerewors was very dry and was on a brioche roll.
