Prense Well in Wirral

A really good venue with the usual "Spoons" huge menu choice with included immense choice of quality drinks. Lovely interior designer well furnished premises with lots of seating options in and out. Lots of historical photos depicting history of Heswall and the past history of these premises as a Telephone Exchange. Always busy. Generally very good service and a very pleasant place to visit especially for breakfast/lunch. Excellent value as always.

Walked out today after waiting 15 minutes at the bar. only me and two others waiting. no bar staff in sight. will not be returning

I go to a lot of Wetherspoons but I always have a problem at this one when ordering on the ap. Staff seem to pour drinks in bulk and just leave them sat at the end of the bar. Then your food comes out and you’re still without a drink. On one occasion, I’ve finished my food and had to go the bar requesting my drink that was ordered at the same time as the food.

Doing a plastering job over the road, thought I will go for a breakfast,waited nearly a hour , wouldn't of minded if I wasn't working ,but I had put me behind ,I use the spoons in Ellesmere port which is far more bust ,and you never wait more than 15 mins,nice pub but slow service.

Food was barely warm Turkey dinner we ordered and the meat didn't seem "real"..next day I was really ill and will never return. We had to ask for table to be cleaned my 1st and last time there. The Mixed grill meat my brother in law had was like leather too

Can’t fault this place, it might be a Wetherspoons but you wouldn’t know it. Spotlessly clean throughout, even the toilets are absolutely immaculate Food is the same menu as any other Wetherspoons but there is definitely a difference. It’s prepared with care and not thrown on a plate as is the usual for most Wetherspoons. The result is the food is excellent with Wetherspoons prices in a great pub, what’s not to like about that. And the waitress checked we were happy with the food and she said thanks and good bye as we were leaving Just one tiny negative thing, the whistling waiter. Bloody annoying and bloody loud I sure it makes perfect music in his head but to everyone else it’s like having a loose budgie flying around the place It won’t stop us enjoying the place but please can someone give the budgie some seed (or open the windows so it can fly away)

Annoyed and disappointed! I visited Wetherspoons in heswall with my wife and a dear old friend of ours. My wife chose scampi and has been violently ill throughout the night. Is this really the standard of food that should be served to customers? Annoyed because I had to watch my wife be violently ill throughout the night. When the meal arrived my wife expressed that the food wasn’t very warm? Yes in hindsight it should have been sent back. But, it should never have been served to a customer, not fully heated and prepared? Needless to say we will never visit this place again.

We regularly go to our local Wetherspoons here in Heswall, usually for lunch and the food is always lovely, the place is clean, well presented and the staff are always pleasant.

Well credit where credit due,went breakfast this morning, always nice atmosphere and great service, but today lovely newish girl served us,tall with glasses, so pleasant and happy in her job,even came back round tables to ask if breakfast ok, great member of staff

Good lord, this place is rough. People with low tooth-to-tattoo ratios roaming the place. Food just what we expected - cheap and poor.

Lovely decor. Plenty of room for large party. Food well cooked and tasty. Drinks very good price. Only downside was the disabled toilet, used by a family member. Very smelly and not clean. Seat needs replacing Shame as everything else was good.

No sign of food after avery long wait , asked the waitress, is food is on its way came back over asked us what we previously ordered , so obviously , we had been forgotten ! Apologised and said she will sort problem ,waited again eventually she came with our food , only to our horror , the food was stone cold , curry was set like jelly !! it obviously been sitting on hot plate for far too long so sent it back and asked for manager , she said unfortunately thd pub was very busy at the time , was her answer ,totally unacceptable,...we asked for full refund and left , never going to eat there again !!!

It's a pity that they adamantly refuse to cook the steaks without smothering them in a thick coating of seasoning. For me, this spoils the taste of the meat. Some places use this to disguise the taste of poor-quality meat or to cover up when the meat is going off. In any case, who knows what's in the seasoning? especially for any allergy sufferers.
