Gusto in Wirral

Very special night with friends, I was visiting from Canada, and the staff and manager on Friday 1st November made it amazing, food and atmosphere was great

The food and service were very good. We really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend we definitely come back for my mum's birthday.

Price £100 for 2 people thats with 40% off food, ouch, food above average 70%, service grumpy not good, atmosphere basic, toilets like going to a cheap indian, disgusting and rough expectation on entry far suppases delivery, shame

Service was excellent throughout, which added to the atmosphere. Food..three of main dishes were oversalted to a point on reflection should have returned...birthday celebration so boat rocking not really required. Two Cannoli dessert underwhelming. Again, staff, service and atmosphere lovely, food needs a look.

Very disappointing visit to this restaurant. The drinks order was wrong when it came, they were going to give us a drink we didn’t order. The main issue was our meals, my husband and I ordered ariabiatta and bucatini aglio, both without meat, but unfortunately my husbands came with meat mixed in, we then had to wait for his to be redone, when his meal came back, it was a very tiny portion!!! Not acceptable for £14! We did have crème brûlée for pudding, again, portion size was tiny. The restaurant wasn’t busy and feel that the errors that occurred were unacceptable

I am a platinum member, joining in Knutsford where we have had great meals. Sadly Heswall fell well below the standard we expected. At 5 pm the restaurant was pretty empty yet we still had to wait, and ask, to have our order taken. While most of the food was OK - no better than that - some dishes were very poor. The garlic prawn starter was very plain with little flavour, the bruschetta cold and the crab fettuchini was extremely weak on flavour The seabass was well cooked but the potato was just a cake. The desserts were ok but it was very strange to have Tiramisu dumped onto our plate out of a serving bowl. The staff were very poor. The young lady who served us looked as though the restaurant was the last place she wanted to be. She had had little training judging by the way she leaned right across in front of my wife to collect my used plate. I had to ask for the bill from the 3 staff who were busy talking to themseves by the computer. All in all a very dissapointing visit which I shall not repeat.

Come here a lot with my little girl. Team are always so lovely and look after us. This time Joe went the extra mile and asked the chef to make something specific for my little one. Thanks Joe!!

A fabulous restaurant with delicious food. We were served by the lovely Molly, who was so friendly and approachable. The tuna steak was perfectly cooked and my husband enjoyed his ragu.

Joe was great, friendly and attentive. Was always there when you needed him but didn't make us feel rushed. The food was amazing as always same goes for the atmosphere.

Nice place, food was tasty, they fogot one of the orders, gave the wrong order and it was a lot later than the rest.... Pity really, as seemed a nice place to eat... maybe just an unlucky situation

always a lovely meal at gusto! we love it here for any occasion - birthdays, anniversary’s or any kind of celebration. last night we booked for mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary, and the restaurant, its staff, the food and the atmosphere did not disappoint! we arrived early for a drink at the bar and the bar staff were friendly and quick. the bar area was relatively quiet which provided a nice atmosphere to kick off the night. after being shown to our table, we were tended to all night by Joe, who went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed! the food was spectacular - i highly recommend the garlic breads, meatballs, crab fettuccine and the lasagne - my partner’s personal favourite dish. don’t forget to save room for dessert though - as these are one of kind! overall gusto is our go-to restaurant when it comes to a nice meal out - we love everything about it here.

Molly served us and was absolutely exceptional. The last couple of times we have been the service has let it down a bit but not today. Food was amazing as always !

Our drinks were put on the bill twice. Also weren’t told there was a 12.5% service charge! We left a decent cash tip. Didn’t have glasses so didn’t check bill as couldn’t read it wrongly assumed it was correct After leaving gusto thought bill was expensive so double checked menu on line, with the anssus of a pair of glasses 🤓 and rang within an hour of leaving. So was told about double drinks and service charge. Had to supply some info via e mail which was done straight away Still not heard anything so rang In today spoke to a rude Irish lady who basically said what do you expect it was a bank holiday yesterday and we probably would have responded to email that afternoon! We use to go to gusto a lot but after a couple of bad meals haven’t been for a year. Certainly won’t be going back anytime soon Gusto your service food and staff use to be excellent what has gone wrong? Very sad you use to be our favourite restaurant

Excellent family lunch at Gusto in Heswall. Our waitress Sam, was extremely friendly & helpful . Nothing was too much trouble, we would highly recommend & we will be back again .

Really enjoyed our post results celebration with our daughter. Sam looked after us and was very attentive. Food was excellent. We ate in the afternoon so it was relatively quiet, but that didn’t detract from a great experience.

Takes a lot for me to come online to leave a review, this was a take out order the lasagne smelt off we didn’t even touch it, I know looks aren’t everything but it looks like they’ve just threw dog food in to a container and sent it out to me. Phoned up for a refund and I’ve been told they will get back to me but I doubt they will as he tried to blame the delivery driver 🤣🤣 can accept the food not coming piping hot as I have opted for delivery but unless the delivery driver is the chef and the front of house ( customer service ) I think it’s a pretty bad excuse the delivery driver was 10 minutes late. Wouldn’t go here ever again and definitely wouldn’t recommend any one going here.

We love coming to Gusto Heswall, it’s our favourite one out of them all. We’re often served by Sam, who always goes above & beyond to make sure we enjoy our evening. The food is lovely and all of the staff are so accommodating. Would always recommend this restaurant!

Had a lovely night last night at gusto. Normally we’ve always chosen the Albert docs for our family gatherings. However, from the service to food it was amazing at heswall. Our waitress AJ was lovely and had a smile on her face no matter what! Couldn’t fault her hard work with us. We hope to be back

We visit Gusto Heswall regularly and are never disappointed. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, polite and attentive. The kitchen team always accommodate our food requests and the food is always delicious.

We live in Heswall and came here for my daughters birthday and don't usually come here as the service has been slow in the past. We gave it another go and our Fregula & Roasted vegetable salads were very bland and had very little flavour. We had to order some houmous, so it had some flavour. We are both vegan and end eating mainly at home as eating out is disappointing. This salad needs changing and re Inventing, to give it some flavour and I suggest tasting what you are serving. The tomato and herb garlic bread was lovely and my daughters kids menu food was well appreciated. Service was much improved from last time but it was a Tuesday night, instead of a previous Saturday night and again lovely atmosphere.

First time in Heswall restaurant. Food was beautiful, the vegan steak was an amazing experience!! & the Nutella calzone was heaven on a plate , lovely atmosphere, all The team are a credit to the restaurant watching them they were lovely to all the diners. we had Jake & young lad from lpool branch (sorry didn’t get name) were fabulous, naturally attentive ( not forced ), will definitely be eating regularly there. What a gem of a place

Regular at this restaurant. Whilst one gets a good discount on food if you are a member, I have noticed that the drinks, particlaraly the wine by the glass has got significanatly expensive over the past few years. There is only one white wine selection under £10 per glass.

Great experience. Tuna dish fantastic. Our puddings were late arriving so they took them off the bill without us saying anything. Sam our waitress was excellent.

Always love a trip to gusto. Portion sizes have improved - used to be tiny! We were looked after by Joe and he was so attentive. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Monday night but we wouldn’t have known, great service, prompt food and lovely friendly staff!

Second disappointing visit in the space of two weeks. We are cancelling our platinum membership sadly. Both visits the meals were delivered at various times. Last visit one meal was missing out of a table of eight. That meal arrived well after the withers had finished eating. The cost of that meal was removed from the bill. We came back and sadly found the service lacking again. No sides arrived with our meals, we had to ask for them and still they took so long that we had all finished our meals. Very inattentive service despite the restaurant not being very busy. Poor drink slelection, served the wrong drinks and told it was the same thing. Food was good, but we won’t be back

We visit Gustos a few times a month and it’s our go to place for a nice family meal, atmosphere is great, food is good quality and the service is always excellent

Services was great but just really slow on food

We had our wedding day lunch at Gusto Heswall on the 3rd of April 24, and it was truly amazing. Food was all around delicious, staff very attentive and friendly and the ambience lovely. It's a day we will cherish forever. Thank you Gusto for making our special day even better.

Visited Gusto Heswall for a family Birthday meal, the service was excellent but unfortunately the food was way below expectation. I had lasagna which was tasteless and really disappointing, my wife had the smoked salmon that looks lovely served with a fancy lid and trapping the smoke etc but again it was not great for the cost I would expect so much more. My eldest son had a burger that he said was rubbish. The kids meals were also not great chicken for my son was overcooked and dry while my daughters pizza was also over done and not nice, we didn't comment on the night as it was already late and the kids had school the next day. of all our meals out of the 7 of us only 2 of them were any good these were the rib eye steak and the duck. Staff are lovely and work really hard it is just a shame the quality of the food is sub standard based on the cost, in addition the service charge was crazy and awkward to request it is removed so we could give a cash tip. We have eaten here many times but I would not really rush back if I am honest.
