We had a fantastic experience at Gustos when we came in for a Sunday roast. The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and everything tasted homemade with great attention to detail. A special shoutout to Megan, who was an outstanding waitress. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Her warm and professional service really made our visit even more enjoyable. The atmosphere at Gustos was welcoming and cozy, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

The food was minimal and had very little flavour and came in a small portion. My chocolate brownie was literally the size of half a match box and my daughter’s burger was a tiny circle. The service was great but when we got the billl it was £165. We had not got loads of food so we were confused to why it was so expensive. It turned out that they had charged us a ‘compulsory’ tip for service bill. So we were paying their staff! Loved the atmosphere very warm and nice. The restuaraunt was lovely besides all that.

Had a lovely meal out with family on Tuesday. Atmosphere was great and the food was top notch, AJ our waitress was so attentive even though she later told us she and her colleague had to split the whole restaurant in two. Had a smile on her face the whole time and always made time to chat us between clearing which we thought was lovely as we knew she was busy. Will be back again

We went to Gusto for a late Valentines dinner and it was lovely! Both Jess’ were very helpful and friendly all night. The plates were super clean!!!!! The food was also delicious! I would definitely recommend! 10/10 all round! <3

Mains were great but my god the starters were terrible. The bruschetta was colourless, like the tomatoes had been chopped in 2014 and frozen. The sauce for the beef tortellini was like canned soup; overly acidic and sweet at the same time. Mains were great though. It’s a big group so can’t expect every dish to be cooked fresh but simple dishes like Bruschetta to be that bad is unforgivable in N Italian restaurant

Music way too loud and not fit for the atmosphere was like we were in a club left with bad head ache. Carbanara was full off too much green stuff couldn't taste anything other than that.

What an amazing experience at Gusto for Valentine’s Day!!! The chateaubriand was exceptional. A huge thank you to Sam who served us this evening, she’s an absolute credit to the restaurant, 5* service from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended.

Went in January as the January offer is too good to refuse We didn’t arrive till late (8.45) as the place was extremely busy and there was a great atmosphere We were shown to our table and out waitress “Meg” was brilliant from start to finish it nice to see a young person with a brilliant work ethic (nothing was too much for us) we had prawns and scallops for the starter which whilst not the biggest portions were excellent quality and tasted Divine, for main course we shared a chateaubriand “rare” with creamy mash potatoes and seasonal veg and again it was gorgeous Over all experience was exceptional and Meg was a credit to Gusto Restaurant 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Food 9.5/10 Pricing 10/10 Meg 10/10 Can’t sing their praises enough, and I’m a believer of credit where due and Gusto and Meg deserve credit Well Done Gusto

Jake* was perfect server, polite and attentive without hovering. It was v busy due to the January offer (which is why food lost a star as chips were a bit end of the basket over crispy) but Jake handled the pace excellently. *Colin Farrell’s lovechild 😁

I had booked for 4.30 31st Jan for 4 people My self , my 2 daughters and my granddaughter .50% off deal . We were told we had the table until 6.30 . It was a while before anyone came to our table . When they eventually came we ordered drinks .They arrived but we were not asked if we were ready to order . Again it was a while before anyone came to take our food order . They did… but we were still waiting for our food and it was 6pm so we had been I the restaurant for 1 and a half hours ..I got up and I presume it was the manager I spoke to .. and asked when our food would be coming .. he asked what table we were on and looked and the “food ticket “ was still there waiting to be picked up .. The restaurant was by no means “full “ there were plenty of empty tables . He said that the food ticket had only had only been there just over an hour ??? .. I said we had sat there for a long time before anyone actually came to take our order . I also said that we had been told we had to vacate the table by 6.30 .. He just said “sorry “ food would be out asap another 30 minutes and still no food and our time was up on the table supposedly 6.30… When the food arrived it wasn’t enjoyable as we had been sat there so long waiting it I had asked for my pizza to be “well cooked “ it wasn’t … very “doughy only ate couple of pieces as did my other daughter with her pizza . My granddaughter had pasta and asked for only a tiny bit of chilli … she couldn’t eat it was so hot ! My other daughter had a Caesar salad that was in a small bowl that just looked like a “side salad not a main ! Totally ruined our evening the whole experience ! We were glad to leave ! I did not leave a tip as you probably aren’t surprised to hear I can’t really recommend any of the dishes listed but it will not let me “post until I have done so so I’ve just ticked a random one ! Same with the last question

Jake was our server and he was very helpful and friendly. Such a nice restaurant. Atmosphere gets a star down as it was very loud.

We visited Gusto as a treat for ourselves while the 50% was on. Had booked a couple weeks in advance. Table wasn't ready when we got there, which was fine we weren't bothered, so sat at the bar until it was ready. We were then sat and given menus, waited around 10 minutes for the waitress to come over, not even a greeting with a smile. Took our order, and the starter came out pretty quick. But it felt like a lifetime for our mains to come out. Id say maybe around 30 minutes after our starter had been taken away. Not once while we were sat did anyone ask us if we would like any more drinks, and we didn't get any check backs on our food. The steak was lovely, cooked perfect. But had too much salt on for my liking, which I know is personal choice really. But it did spoil it a bit for me. Also the peppercorn sauce was like water, and half the serving they used to give. Such a shame as I used to rave about this place and used to look forward to going for special occasions. We appreciate it was busy, but when you can see the table right opposite getting asked if they want drinks and being checked on to make sure food is ok, it's not great! Every table should be treated the same.

The only problem was the added 15% service charge which was in drinks as well as food. They removed it no problem and we left a suitable tip in cash. Just be aware

We’ve been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it. However each time we go it’s slightly more disappointing than the last. The restaurant was busy for a Monday (50% off January so to be expected) and I can’t help but feel this was reflected in the food. The Arancini starter was one lonely ball which was just like a sticky pasty mush inside. It wasn’t hot enough. The Caesar salad was warm and looked like something a child would put together. Our mains were ok. Carbonara was fine but nothing special. The other pasta (Bucatini Al Aglio) was so excessively oily I couldn’t finish it. We had desserts which were lovely. The bombolini redeemed the meal for me. Had we paid full price I’d have been really unhappy but with the 50% off it was satisfactory. Service was good. The restaurant itself is lovely but the food needs more attention!

Food ok. Not happy with the added 17% service charge. Should be set at 10-15% and left as the customers choice to add more dependant on level of service.

Food was nice, service very good and nice interior. Only down side was service charge being added automatically. I was planning to tip the service but feel no restaurant should add it on automatically, this is very rude and presumptuous. Also a charity donation on the bill. I donate to charities myself but don’t feel it should form any part of my bill at a restaurant - I was not told of this in advance or provided any information at all about the charity itself.

It's my favourite Italian of all time. Just love this place. Beautiful interior, great service, and tasty food

We ordered the bread, prawns and seafood as starters. Great selection of drinks. Ordered the tiramisu at the end and the waitresses asked us if we want more 🥰Loved the ambience and the decor. Service was excellent. Would definitely go back.

The staff are absolutely incredible. Hard working and polite. Very very nice food. The deserts are beyond stingy. The brownie and cheesecake where so thin you could see through them. Not worth £9! each!! But again. The staff are incredible. Pay them more instead of adding a service charge without asking us first.

Service by Maya was exceptional. Always greeted in such a nice way by Tom who is also very knowledgeable about all the drinks so gives good recommendations. Plus the Atmosphere was amazing. We went for a roast dinner. Roast potatoes far too underdone, beef was overdone and no crackling. Cauliflower cheese was fantastic though. So although I wouldn’t race back for a roast dinner I love lots of food at Gustos and I visit at least once a week and will carry on visiting for their other menu.

Service was good, server was friendly and helpful. Drinks were great. Food was good, but the diavola pizza was a little too spicy (and thats from a family of people who love spice!). Its apparently been brought up a few times recently so was probably a problem with this order/batch of chillis. Other than that, food was great

Today we enjoyed our first ever bottomless brunch at Gustos in Heswall. The range of cocktails was fab and tasted amazing too. The food as ever was yummy and the service we received from manager Josh and barman Carwin was superb. Can highly recommend! Thanks Gustos!

Superb food and service..only reason we didn't give it 5 stars for atmosphere was noisy children at another table and they weren't asked to be quieter while the rest of the customers enjoyed their meals.

Served by Jess. Everything was amazing and so tasty. Outstanding value with platinum card! Unfortunately, they have taken balsamic glazed duck off the menu, which is a shame because we both really liked it.

Service was excellent throughout, which added to the atmosphere. Food..three of main dishes were oversalted to a point on reflection should have returned...birthday celebration so boat rocking not really required. Two Cannoli dessert underwhelming. Again, staff, service and atmosphere lovely, food needs a look.

Very disappointing visit to this restaurant. The drinks order was wrong when it came, they were going to give us a drink we didn’t order. The main issue was our meals, my husband and I ordered ariabiatta and bucatini aglio, both without meat, but unfortunately my husbands came with meat mixed in, we then had to wait for his to be redone, when his meal came back, it was a very tiny portion!!! Not acceptable for £14! We did have crème brûlée for pudding, again, portion size was tiny. The restaurant wasn’t busy and feel that the errors that occurred were unacceptable

I am a platinum member, joining in Knutsford where we have had great meals. Sadly Heswall fell well below the standard we expected. At 5 pm the restaurant was pretty empty yet we still had to wait, and ask, to have our order taken. While most of the food was OK - no better than that - some dishes were very poor. The garlic prawn starter was very plain with little flavour, the bruschetta cold and the crab fettuchini was extremely weak on flavour The seabass was well cooked but the potato was just a cake. The desserts were ok but it was very strange to have Tiramisu dumped onto our plate out of a serving bowl. The staff were very poor. The young lady who served us looked as though the restaurant was the last place she wanted to be. She had had little training judging by the way she leaned right across in front of my wife to collect my used plate. I had to ask for the bill from the 3 staff who were busy talking to themseves by the computer. All in all a very dissapointing visit which I shall not repeat.

Come here a lot with my little girl. Team are always so lovely and look after us. This time Joe went the extra mile and asked the chef to make something specific for my little one. Thanks Joe!!

A fabulous restaurant with delicious food. We were served by the lovely Molly, who was so friendly and approachable. The tuna steak was perfectly cooked and my husband enjoyed his ragu.

Joe was great, friendly and attentive. Was always there when you needed him but didn't make us feel rushed. The food was amazing as always same goes for the atmosphere.

Nice place, food was tasty, they fogot one of the orders, gave the wrong order and it was a lot later than the rest.... Pity really, as seemed a nice place to eat... maybe just an unlucky situation

always a lovely meal at gusto! we love it here for any occasion - birthdays, anniversary’s or any kind of celebration. last night we booked for mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary, and the restaurant, its staff, the food and the atmosphere did not disappoint! we arrived early for a drink at the bar and the bar staff were friendly and quick. the bar area was relatively quiet which provided a nice atmosphere to kick off the night. after being shown to our table, we were tended to all night by Joe, who went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed! the food was spectacular - i highly recommend the garlic breads, meatballs, crab fettuccine and the lasagne - my partner’s personal favourite dish. don’t forget to save room for dessert though - as these are one of kind! overall gusto is our go-to restaurant when it comes to a nice meal out - we love everything about it here.
