I've checked into the premier inn for 3 nights to find out the beefeater is closed for food and drink because all the staff have walked out due to soon be opening there own in house Thyme restaurant so there is only staff there in the morning to cook breakfast....yet nothing is on the website about it being closed !!!! I would of booked into another hotel if I had know 🙈🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Poor experience. Friendly waitress but manager was too busy chatting to seat at a table. No atmosphere and when the food came it was VERY disappointing. Portion size was poor and the ‘salad’ was embarrassing - simply lettuce and a couple of bits of tomato. For captive business travellers staying next door it’s just not good enough.

This restaurant is attached to the Premier Inn, where I am currently staying for 1 night. I have tried all day to book a table with no joy as it does get busy. Arrived at the hotel was told booking system not working but to reserve a table do this in the restaurant. I went asked the question, and the answer was 9 pm before a table was free. I went to my room and got a shower and headed back down in case there was a table. Same answer. Drove to McDonald's and got fed in less than 20 minutes. This is not the first time I have experienced this, so please, folks avoid. There are better places with more pleasant staff.

Entering a half empty but pleasant Beefeater these days is a psyche/gangster torment best avoided. First you and your party must hover at the ‘you shall not pass’ podium for what seems like an eternity. Staff who look burdened by too many secrets don’t seem to notice you. Just when your nerve is about to expire, you reach level 2. ‘We aren’t accepting drop ins’ you will be advised in a ‘computer says no’ tone from the staff at the register. You immediately regret the glance around at a staff to customer ratio of 2-1 and majority empty tables as your quizzical expression is quickly erased by the icy look of ‘so leave now’ from waiter. Despite your innocence you feel like an informant given another chance by a mob boss… so to diffuse the situation a chirpy ‘we have a reservation’ forces big Tony at register to finally relent and the fact you get a table is never forgiven… you’ve made it to level 3. Is that a good thing? No sense in looking at the menu in advance as you are given in level 4 - a sparse reduced one. You don’t argue. Are the real staff out back bound up? More patrons enter and are turned away. Lucky…run. The food was ok. Not great. Not terrible. You daren’t complain. At level 5. Bill gets paid you make it out. Alive. Was that a speak easy casino out back you glance on the way out? Was definitely a car back firing! You get home pack a bag, change your name and appearance and move to Panama just in case.

My wife and I were in Inverness recently; me for business, she for shopping... and we stayed at the Premier Inn West Inverness and the delightful Beefeater Loch Ness House was adjacent and connected to the Premier Inn.It was a cold and wet night, so it was a pleasure not having to venture out on such an evening. We ambled down to the restaurant, which was full when we went down but the very helpful and attentive Manager made a reservation for us for 45minutes later. When we popped down later, our table was ready and we were delighted with the service and variety of food on offer. The Beefeaters have gone through an overhaul, and have moved to a different level in terms of food menu and service.Michael, who was the manager who made our reservation was very quick to attend to our every need and the food was ordered and served promptly. We were impressed with the variety of starters and mains and we enjoyed the delicious and well presented meal. Michael was back again when we were in for breakfast and was enlightening and entertaining and quick to offer suggestions for our day in Inverness.Would I recommend the Premier Inn West Inverness... Yes.Would I recommend the Beefeater Loch Ness House... Definitely.

My family were staying at the Premier Inn next door and had our evening meal and breakfast here. Between us we have gluten, egg, nut and shellfish allergies so we usually finding eating out a chore. It was so easy here though! Our orders (evening meal and breakfast) were taken by the manager and he talked us through our choices, he reassured us about the practices in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination and we were so appreciative of the time he spent making sure we got meals that were safe for us to eat it. We were also grateful to the kitchen staff for cooking our breakfasts separately to avoid the cross contamination risk at the buffet. We visit Inverness fairly regularly and will make this our “go to” from now on.

We used to eat here regularly due to the consistently good service and food. The steaks and burgers in particular were always of high quality. The last 3 time’s I’ve visited however has been a complete let down. Waiting 40 minutes to receive a drink , food arriving late , and the quality of the food is terrible. For the prices charged the food is not up to scratch. Gave it a few chances but definitely won’t be returning.

I took my son, his best man and a mate for a pre-wedding treat and we had a really enjoyable experience. We all took something different from the menu, and most of the meals were very well presented, cooked and tasty with the exception of mine which came with chips instead of mashed potatoes as described on the menu. In fact the only thing right on the plate was the Doom Bar pie.I sent it back and then watched the chef grab a Tupperware box of mash from the fridge in the open kitchen and heat it up in the microwave while my pie sat on the pass. The meal came back eventually and the mash was very nice, but it didn't have the flavoring as described on the menu, but by now I was past caring as everyone else was well into their meal.Despite the setback, we all enjoyed our meal and the waiting staff were all great.

We often stay at the aadjacent/attached Premier Inn West when visiting Inverness. Usually we are very satisfied with our food but were a tad less so on this occassion. Firstly we had to stand and wait much longer than before to be seated, secondly we had to dodge a couple of buckets as they had two leaks in the ceiling ! We don't know if it was burst plumbing or roof problems but we're sure they'll get them fixed asap.We both opted for prawn cocktail starters and fish main course, my husband asked for potatoes and garden peas with his fish whilst I had the traditional fish, chips and mushy peas, The starters were fine but my husband's potatoes were very dry and he had to ask for his garden peas which were missing when his meal was served. I had a glass of house white and my husband had the house red as part of the meal deal. We'd had these meal deals previously and the wine was OK, it was not so good this time, my wine was fine but sadly my husband's was not good at all on this occassion.

Shown to our table by a waitress who was very vocal about how unhappy she was in her work - bizarre! She then questioned and queried our choice of chips (we wanted normal not skinny) a number of times commenting she thought the skinnier chips were tastier. No Peroni Libera available, so the usual lack of interest in options for non alcoholic drinkers or the drivers of any group. Our flatbread starter to share bore no resemblance to actual flatbread (as we had on a previous visit) - we got three huge slices of oily focaccia. Just to add to the 'taste experience' the side dish of garlic dip it comes with had already had a big smear taken out of the middle. When we were brought a replacement dish, the comment from the waitress was that the kitchen had explained that the way they dollop the dip into the dish leaves that smear - but that "all the waiting staff agree with us that it was a previously used dish". We then splashed out on the high price for the short rib/pulled beef burger on the strength of the menu picture -silly us!We got a burger bun with a tiny beefburger in it - and - honestly- a teaspoon sized portion of GREY shredded something in a grey sauce. It could not have been further from the photo of the meal we had ordered. We don't have mobile phones or would have photographed and posted. It was horrendous. Accompanied by a small portion of undercooked chips, Altogether a disaster, and seeing other poor TA reviews - this is clearly a branch that needs some secret shopper visits from head office. Our previous visit had found one of our two steaks fatty and gristly and mostly inedible, but we were comped our soft drinks. Thought fair to give them another try, but on this showing, we won't be back.

For convenience, as we were staying in the campsite next door, we called into the Beefeater. My husband - the carnivore, me - the vegetarian. OK I thought - there's bound to be a vegetarian choice on the menu - there were a few but only the side Greek salad appealed. It came in the tiniest bowl with two cubes of feta and three olives and an assortment of chopped pepper and tomatoes. It was very tasty but just as well I wasn't very hungry and just as well I added a bowl of chips to the order. Cmon chef - two cubes of Feta does not a Greek salad make - even for a side dish - more feta would be a start.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Booked a table for my family after my dad had recently come out of hospital, thought we would have a nice family meal and try somewhere different. Upon entering the front entrance, we were ignored by three staff before someone directed us to the host station, at the back of the front entrance. Made to wait for our table despite pre-booking, watched several people be seated while we waited, the host didn't even acknowledge us once after asking us to wait. Finally after waiting fifteen minutes, now half an hour since we arrived, I had to ask a waitress where our table was, host still nowhere to be seen. Finally seated and then made to wait a considerable amount of time for our starters. Whilst again, watching people be seated after us and served before us. Now an hour after the table was booked for we receive our starters which were average and luke warm, felt like they had been left waiting a while before reaching our table. By this point, my impressions were very low and my appetite had completely gone. We did not want to stay in this place another second. Cancelled our mains, but the waitress brought them out anyway. Once finally confronted by the manager, who turned out to be the host, having already discovered his shocking service, stood there without a care upon hearing our feedback. I would have at least had respect had he stood his honour for his establishment or even an apology. But all he did was accept we wanted to pay our starters and said nothing more. Finally receive an apology once we had paid, to which he explained he had been 'running back and forth' all night. Still no explanation as to why we had not been seated, why we were ignored for so long, despite guests being seated after us and served before our table. Staff in the background supposed to be attending to the other customers were standing around laughing and giggling at the situation. The manager clearly has this happen regularly, his overall attitude was despicable, and not what you would expect from any member of staff, let alone management. If you are residing in this Premier Inn, find somewhere else to eat. I will never return to this place, and working in tourism and business in Inverness, being a local in the area, will make absolute damn sure that no one visits this horrendous joke of a 'restaurant'.

Visited this Beefeater in July 2017, it was very busy, staff were brilliant, friendly polite, but, starter was colder than expected when it came, main course was good, but had items missing, the waiter could not figure out how to have no salad on plate, and change it to coleslaw instead, through the computer ordering system (chefs were behind him, so he could have talked to them!) My drink came with some sort of blue towel in it, was never told it was bottomless drinks, as £2.90 for a can of coke is dear. What did annoy me was the table opposite had there handsfree telephone on it along with papers, a orange juice carton on the floor. and some other work related papers. The phone never stopped ringing. At one point I nearly answered it! This restaurant could be amazing, if they sharpened up a bit. Food was good though.

Service was relatively slow, and the food really quite ordinary. I also felt the pricing was some ten percent more than similar establishments.

For a steak house, I had one of the worst steaks ever. Chewy and tastless. The Chilean wine was also quite poor. Don't understand why this has a high rating.

We travelled with two young children and found the bedroom to be spacious even with two extra beds added for the kids. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Sometimes a bit too hot and the heating controls didn't seem to make much difference with this but not a big problem.Receptionists were all friendly and helpful. Good parking available. Only a few minutes drive from the city centre but yet far enough away that it is nice and quiet.

Attended for special family meal, waiter excellent service, not expecting much as is attached to premier inn, steaks excellent,in fact kids meals, vegetarian choices, mixed grill really lovely,so looked forward to salt toffee apple crumble, what? It arrived roasting,a trickling of crumble on top of a floating dish of apple slices and toffee sauce, burning hot, inedible and not palatable, sundaes were so rock hard couldn't get spoon through them, luckily main courses and starters saved the day, bill was high, perhaps time they introduced a Toby carvery to ensure better value for money?

Spent two nights here. Got a family room with a double bed and and a single bed. Reasonable sized room - plenty of space to move around with single bed made up. Bathroom with bath and shower was clean and well maintained. Receptionists were very friendly. Paid extra for breakfast (£9 each but kids under 16 eat free) Disappointed that all veggie options advertised weren't available - no bubble and squeak or quorn sausages in hot buffet. Hot buffet wasn't hot. Good choice of cold items. Didn't have breakfast here on second morning.

We regularly use Premier Inns and as ever were not disappointed. This is right on the Caledonian Canal (no view of from hotel) with local walks and during summer months nearby access to Jacobtite Loch Ness tours,

Standard Premier Inn inside, the receptionist on duty was lovely and took time to chat to us and the kids at check-in. The location is fantastic for getting around Loch Ness. Fair price and with it being a PI you know what you are getting. The restaurant however is horrendous, more than likely the worst I have visited next to any Premier Inn. Extremely slow service and disinterested staff. There are plenty of other local and branded restaurants nearby that would be worth a try than this mess.

This Inn is becoming my favourite place to stay when visiting Inverness may be situated on the outskirts but not too far away to walk to the centre (20 mins) although the food is good enough that you don't need to. Keep up the good work

Having stayed at the attached premier inn on a couple of occasions and had breakfast at this beefeater before was really looking forward to my breakfast which in the past was excellent. On this occasion along with a couple of my friends I found the service and food when it eventually came to be very poor.Had to go go up three times in order to get sausages ,eventually joined queue of other people waiting to obtain food. Not enough staff to cater for number of people in restaurant. Will not be back .

Was really keen to try this place after hearing of the recent refurbishment, wish I had not bothered to be honest.Could not see a great difference in the menu? Brought my pregnant friend for lunch..place was quiet so should not have been a problem to get a table. We were left waiting like lemons while staff milled around..had to see two different waitress's just to be seated..Requested a cocktails menu and also asked if we could order mocktails due to my pregnant friend wanting something nice with her lunch..Terrible choice of cocktails..no mocktails and waitress did not seem to know what a mocktail was. We stuck to j2o's..one of which was the wrong flavour but not being a person to complain I drank it anyway.Ordered breaded mushrooms for starter..literally a few mushrooms on a plate..would be better served with at least a garnish...We both ordered burgers for our mains..I went for the cheeseburger which I wanted plain. Burger arrived came CLARTED with sauce AND bacon both which I did not ask for..and had I paid for this the bacon would of cost me extra!.. Burger was inedible with all the sauce so I left it and requested it was deducted from my bill..did not have time to sit and chose another main and wait for preparation so just left. Will not be back and will not recommend.

Our first trip to Inverness (ye ken) and a walk from our guest house (The Park Guest House) brought us to this place. Decent food, expensive drinks. The Waitress was new, but very professional and a lovely person with a helpful attitude. The Mixed Grill for both of us, followed by an Eton Mess if memory serves... one Beefeater is much the same as another, but the food was the usual standard and you can't go wrong with these places if you don't want to try anything daring. Recommended.

Family kept waiting for over an hour for dinner. Poor, doubtful and delayed communication over failed kitchen facilities, and no discount or gesture to acknowledge inconvenience caused. The hotel is a bit out of town, so a poor restaurant is particularly significant.

Staff are friendly. It's only a few years old so everything is still nice and new looking. Do ask for a quiet room as the rooms near the machinery at the end of the building can disturb your sleep. There always seems to be enough parking (have stayed more than once). You can walk into town but it is quite a long walk. It is near the canal where you can go for nice walks. It is also within walking distance of the swimming pool etc.

What's the point in a hotel that stops serving after 11pm? It takes away all the fun of the business trip to the mainland! Some staff are nice (Archie at breakfast), while others take themselves very seriously. All in all, probably the most boring hotel in the Highlands.

The restaurant in both was attractive with a good menu and excellent service and food. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well appointed. We highly recommend Premier Inn based on our experience.

Clean, solid place to get good night sleep -- although fairly standardized and basic. One of the few lager places to spend a night in Inverness. Ask for a higher floor, and you will be rewarded with the beautiful river view

I attended an afternoon tea here. It appeared to be managed ok and sandwiches were fresh with a reasonable, unchallenging selection of fillings and brown / white bread. Tea, coffee and soft drinks were readily available although refills did have to be requested.Service was ok but restricted. There was an impression of very few people available, most with limited English language skills but otherwise very willing and helpful

No food on offer other than crisps, ice cream and a meagre offering of cake, shocked as we were there for a 1pm show and had travelled over an hour thinking we would be fine for lunch at the theatre. Staff were fine, no hint of getting things done in a timely fashion and not much interaction with customers. Decor is depressing, such a big space makes it cold and echoey. Just no atmosphere whatsoever. Very disappointed and won't be back.

We stayed at this Inn/Hotel at the beginning of November, returning home we received an email asking us to review our stay. This we did by email, however, we did not receive a reply nor did we receive a reply to our follow up copy email, which I now type below. "Many thanks for your email, usually we send a report good or bad to Tripadvisor, as you have asked for feedback I am happy to share our thoughts with you initially. I have an email from you confirming our reservation from the 4th to the 8th November, 2024 in a Garden Room. This was because we have a dog and thought this would be an easier option should she need to go outside. When we arrived we had NOT been booked into a Garden Room for our five nights, as per your confirmation. We were offered a garden room for 3 nights and two other nights elsewhere within the hotel. I really did not feel changing rooms, packing and unpacking for two nights was a good idea, so we opted to stay again in Room 111 for the five night stay. I am sure you will agree, this was not a good start to our holiday. I spoke to another couple who had also booked a garden room only to find they too had been misallocated a room and these long established customers were very upset and vowed not to return next year for their 8th year. I feel it necessary to draw to your attention the lack of servicing for Room 111. Each day our duvet was "just turned over at the top", the bottom sheet was not straightened and the pillows were as we had arisen, not even straightened and aligned. The cleanliness in the bathroom left much to be desired. As I am sure you are aware there is no toilet brush next to the lavatory. The toilet was not cleaned throughout our stay and the bowl after five nights was turning a light shade of brown, however, diligent attention was paid to folding and making the spare toilet roll and the one for use look pretty. I would have preferred a clean toilet. This takes me on to the bath. On arrival there was a single long dark hair in the bath, as we did not use the bath and both have grey hair, this was still there when we left!! The shower doors require a thorough clean and polish, there is black mould on the wall and around the base of the shower. During our stay this was NOT cleaned at all. Mould and Mildew spray with a toothbrush would solve this problem. Likewise the wash hand basin was neglected. No dusting or vacuuming was carried out in the room for the duration of our stay. For your information I left a piece of cotton and a clean tissue on the floor and they were not picked up. When we had dinner in the bar area dogs were quite welcome. However, in the morning we did feel rather like second class citizens as we were with other dog owners required to use the alternative dining room, which was uninviting and a long way from the self-service area in the breakfast room. On two days for breakfast we were along with four other owners with dogs, allowed to use the breakfast room. No explanation was given for the flexible rule. To end on a good note, the staff were pleasant and helpful, always willing to assist in anyway they could. It is with interest I await your response. " On our next trip to Scotland we shall stay elsewhere.

Just popped in here at lunchtime, being 'in holiday' mode visiting Nairn. I asked for a cone of chips and the chap that served me was very pleasant, chatty and polite. The cone was nearly overflowing with chips with plenty of salt & vinegar added. They were freshly made, hot and very tasty. I would highly recommend if you are visiting Nairn. I will definitely go again and next time have the fish & chips - well you are at the seaside :)
