Only on the edge of the city(walkable to the cathedral). Nice and quiet. Good clean and comfy rooms and good breakfast. Staff friendly and welcoming. The Irish gentleman chef doing the breakfast was a friendly chap.

Stayed here for a long weekend. Quiet location, considering we were facing a main road and a large Morrisons supermarket with a petrol station. Staff were approachable and welcoming. WiFi was good during our stay. Hotel is a good base to explore the area of Wells, Glastonbury and National Trust Stourhead. Hotel is walking distance of Wells Bus Station and town centre. Behind the Premier Inn there is a footpath that leads on to connecting paths/quiet lanes to Glastonbury Tor (see an OS map for details). Hotel car parking is chargeable and paid at the end of your stay.

Great in terms of rooms as always in a Premier Inn. Internet was woefully slow, including the pay-for premium one. We made the mistake of eating there. Stale dough balls? £5+ please. Food was bad, expensive and the restaurant totally understaffed. You can't expect staff to do reception, wash dishes, take orders, serve hot food, take payment etc.

The room was a standard premier inn room fairly decent as always…. It’s just the no opening of windows makes me feel claustrophobic and rooms get stuffy very easily and can’t get fresh air in room even with the noisy air conditioning running keeping me up most the night. Very disappointed premier inn have made most hotels sealed windows as will be trying to avoid them in future.

I stayed at this Premier Inn on a Tuesday - arrived around 9 pm - it is about a 10 minute walk from the Bus Station in Wells - Breakfast is help yourself and weekdays is available from 0630 to 1030 - cooked is £9.99 - east as much as you like buffet style Parking is available at a cost of £4.50 for 24 hours but the receptionist will deal with this when you arrive - I had a room that wold have slept a family double and single and seemed to have an interlocking door to the room next door if needed

Strong contender for worst WiFi in Europe- expect 1990s dial up speeds. Sound insulation between floors non existent - but it is located next to lovely Wells so as a hotel it doesn’t have to try very hard - so it doesn’t bother

The roast dinners are beautiful, the best roast beef I have ever tasted with perfectly season veg, crispy roast potatoes, homemade stuffing and crispy Yorkshire pudding! The brasserie has quickly become my favourite roast dinner spot in Shepton.

Avoid this over priced chippy with the rudest staff iv ever known!! Food is standard, nothing special. They will try rip you off and when you complain they will laugh in your face. Tried to make me buy 2 meals when I only asked for one all because I wanted a extra sausage. Over 30 pounds for chips cheese and gravy with 2 battered sausage and 3 drinks!! Was told she explained that It would be this way but only pointed out the small print on the menu when I was leaving. All the while laughing in my face. This was the manager apparently! Trading standards have been called.. never once I have walked out and refused to pay but there was no way I was being treated like that. She even said she knew I'd be "like this" but never took the time to come explain that you can't just buy another sausage with your dinner without paying for another full meal. Absolutely bizarre. Never heard of any business charging people that way. Safe to say i will not be going back for standard food that they want you to remortgage your house for. Rude nasty manager with no customer skills at all!!!

Very expensive, cold and horrible, partly reheated, partly not heated properly in the first place, and the wrong items. It arrived nearly 90 mins after ordering, after having to chase them up - they clearly didn't give a toss that our expensive food had gone missing, and the delivery driver, who had taken over an hour to drive 2 miles, was offended when I remarked that the meal was now cold. Apparently everyone should really want tepid food that has kicked around in the back of a car for over an hour on a cold night. What came across was that they think it is our job to pay through the nose and pat the delivery driver on the head for ruining our meal, rather than it being their job to ensure that delicious, piping hot food is delivered quickly. A refund should be automatic in these circumstances, but I now have to earn the price of my expensive, awful meal, so won't have time for the endless petulant struggle with R and T which this will entail. Will NEVER EVER use again.
