Check in is now automated, which is a really poor welcome. The music in the foyer is so loud you cannot think. The system is clunky and unintuitive. Worst of all, I didn’t feel safe. There was no way of resolving the somewhat dirty room and in the event of fire something terrible could happen. Having stayed here before, this reduction in service and quality makes me think my money is better spent elsewhere.

First room was near the main ac plant which was noisy all night with a background hum, then a very poor breakfast and a change of rooms which was better but had a bit of a smell. Disappointing stay, as other Premier Inns have been great.

Couldn't understand why there was no long table under the TV where the plug sockets are . Also the bedside tables , one side had a table with no plug socket the other side had plug socket no table . Also no toilet rolls , had to ask the young lady at reception. Apart from that all good , the number 22

Again another shabby Premier Inn. Food dreadful. Saving grace people who have to work there. Plus there is a pool table in the restaurant, not great, loud lads quiet dining not available.

Cannot beat it! Premier inn offers luxury at a fantastic price - the bed always offers an incredible nights sleep and the black out curtains are a dream to make sure sunlight doesn’t take away much needed rest on a little break away. Breakfast is £10.99 per head but it is well worth it as it is unlimited and fresh with both continental and hot breakfast offering great selection - and the food was good quality right up till the end of breakfast hours plus at the time I went children ate free which is fantastic for my 10 year old daughter. We will definitely be choosing premier more often and recommending to friends and family. And we will purchase the mattress for at home too 😁

We stayed overnight on Thursday 27th June and were allocated two rooms on the first floor and one on the ground floor. With the check in staff member advising to be careful as refurbishment work was in progress on the first floor. We went up the stairs opened the door to cross the corridor. Work was clearly being carried out, but the first thing to hit you was the strong smell of raw sewage from the drainage system (I noticed a new WC pan due for installation in one of the open rooms). Industrial fans in the corridor just blew this towards you. Unacceptable and a potential environmental health issue. We then crossed the bare floored corridor to find no carpet but again, bare floor and small stairs with carpet grippers still in place. A potential risk of injury for children and elderly people. The corridor at the top of the stairs did have carpet leading to our room. The room had a stand fan blowing in the corner. As it was very warm in the room, I tried to put on the air conditioning, only to find the fan coil unit didn't work at all. The window to the room was a sealed unit and could not be opened. I presume this is to keep the room temperature when the fan coil is in operation. So, we ended up with warm air recirculating the room. After leaving our luggage in the room we returned to reception. The smell was overwhelming in the corridor. I reported this to the reception staff. Was told there was nothing they could do about it. We went to the recommended restaurant across the small external passage way (Smugglers Retreat) for food, only to find no food was available due to the kitchen being closed (no kitchen staff). We went to McDonald's. After meeting other members of our party and returned as late as possible to avoid the smell of sewage. By the time we got to our room it was extremely hot. We had very little sleep as a result. We had breakfast (in the Smugglers Retreat), collected our bags and left. On the way out I very politely mentioned the unacceptable problems to reception. Having paid £147.00 for each room (three in total at check in). I feel the charge again, totally unacceptable. No offer of a discount was made. I would not recommend whilst refurbishment is in progress.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express, and my experience was nothing short of excellent. The location of the hotel was superb, situated perfectly to explore the region. With McDonald's, ASDA Express, a fuel station, and several pubs right on the doorstep, convenience was unparalleled. The reception team were incredibly helpful and friendly, always going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and their warm hospitality made a significant difference in my overall experience. One of the standout features was the availability of free parking, which added to the convenience and made traveling in and out of the hotel stress-free. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, we had a takeaway delivered. The hotel staff were very accommodating, providing us with the necessary cutlery and crockery required. Morning breakfast (Free) provided was very good, offering a variety of options that catered to different tastes and preferences. It was a great way to start the day before heading out to explore the local area. Overall, my stay at the Holiday Inn Express was marked by excellent service, a prime location, and a comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the region.

Rooms excellent check-in staff lovely Breakfast awful no plates so when I asked the waitress for one I was told that they were busy and they han none, when I asked when more bacon, eggs, beans and tomatoes would be topped up as the trays were empty, the answer was I don't know, we gave it up as a bad job and went out for breakfast. Hotel great but go out for your food.

Fairly standard Premier Inn. The room was quiet. Bathroom ventilation not working properly. Smell from drains. Shower thermostat faulty. Great breakfast cooked to order.

You know what you are going to get. No lift. Very poor Wi-Fi, even when you pay for ultimate (£5). Phone signal also very patchy as next to an airport. Can be difficult to leave as traffic is an issue. Breakfast in the table table next door is ok.

Play equipment very tired. Not well maintained. Very expensive for what it is. Lots of parks locally which are free and better maintained. Can’t take a picnic in even though it’s £4.50 per child to enter. At that price you’d think you could take a picnic in.
