Clean comfy and good location. A little bit noisy on a night but I think that was more due to the event for which people were staying for rather than it being the norm of the hotel. For the price could not fault it. Breakfast is a bit pricey.

Rooms clean and good size. Most importantly are the staff. Very efficient and helpful. One person in particular, Jordan was more than helpful and caring. He was always there when needed and went out of his way to be of assistance. Having worked in the hotel trade myself for many years I have never met a more dedicated member of staff. Would stay here any time again.

Excellent reception on arrival informative and friendly. Room clean functionable and warm on a cold day. Paid for breakfast which is always plentiful at Premier. All round a good short stay but will definitely be back.

I'm absolutely stunned that one of the UK's largest hotel chains is managing to run a business without guest rooms having fully functional heating in the middle of winter. I had to go to reception in the middle of the night in my pijamas to enquire about heating not working. A staff member came to turn it on for us but I had to go back again 20 minutes later because the radiator was still stone cold. I was then told by a different member of staff the next day that several of the rooms heating was not working, and I was advised that if I wanted to complain that I should call the customer services number. (I was literally standing at the reception desk having this conversation - It was like something out of a comedy sketch) The staff were friendly and rooms were clean but there was nothing 'premier' about this Premier Inn.

Staff are really welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The bathroom didn't have any toothpaste and only had those nasty liquid soap dispensers strapped to the wall above the sink and by the shower. The bed was comfy, and the sheets were clean. The TV was good, and there were tea making facilities with English breakfast tea and coffee available. There were plentiful power points for charging phones, etc. There were also ramps for wheelchair access. Plenty of free parking. There was also a limited amount of Free WiFi, more if you paid extra for it.

Not exactly the Ritz and annoying that they didn't advise me that the restaurant and bar were shut for most of my stay when I booked in for the week.

Lovely meal. It made a nice change to have full waitress service & not having to go to the bar to order your meal

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS There is undoubtedly nothing premier about this hotel; our stay (which didn't happen) turned into a hotel nightmare. We are a middle-aged couple who were attending a family birthday party in Northwich, and unwittingly booked to stay at this god-awful hotel. While checking in at the reception desk, we complained about the additional charges, as we felt it was a little unfair, considering we had arranged for our wider family to stay at the hotel also. In response to our complaint, the receptionist was particularly dismissive, repeating company policy. When I asked the receptionist to escalate the matter to her manager, she refunded me! - Outraged by the attitude of the staff on arrival, we retired to our room to get change. Upon leaving the hotel to go to the venue, we noticed the receptionist and other staff sitting on the curb directly outside the hotel entrance. It looked very unprofessional, like a youth club hangout. I saw the staff looking directly at us, smirking and snickering. When we returned to our room (on the top floor), neither keycards were working. I didn't suspect then, but now I believe the staff may be behind this as a sick practice teenage joke. When we went to the reception to complain about our keycards - the replacement receptionist was rude beyond belief and told us that my partner and I had been put on a 'Watch Guest List' because we complained earlier that day. When my partner challenged him about his rude and unprofessional demeanour, and then, he said, "That's it! I am calling the police! You have to leave the hotel." My partner and I, along with the other guests in reception, were gob-smacked. To make matters worse, they refused to return our belongings from the room until the police turned up. The police didn't attend, likely because it was a juvenile and civil matter; however, this poor excuse for a hotel kept us waiting outside in the rain and weather for hours before returning to our property. lucky for us, we lived locally, and it was only 35 minutes taxi ride home. However, we had to leave our car behind, causing more costs to get the car home the following day. From my experience with Premier Inn, they are a Mickey Mouse company. I didn't expect a luxury room, but at least the basic customer service with friendly staff. You don't expect to be booted out of a hotel and the police called upon you for making a complaint. Premier Inn has a lot to answer regarding dealing with customers and complaints.

Building is a bit run down but room was fine , beds as you would expect at a premier inn. Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare , 55 minutes to get a breakfast is very frustrating. We sat at our table at 10am and the food came at 10.55am, there were no pancakes ,no pastries left a few slices of bread and by the time our breakfast came the drinks etc were all being packed away. Very disappointing

Good clean hotel room, decent facilities, reasonable price, friendly staff, however when we arrived there was only one member of staff on reception and a large influx of people, so maybe an extra staff member is needed on a Saturday afternoon ☺️

Chiquito, Ellesmere Port – 4pm on a Wednesday (Tex-Mex meets Travelodge lobby) We visited Chiquito at 4pm, the mealtime equivalent of a shrug. Too late for lunch, too early for dinner — that strange hinterland where you question all your life choices and seriously consider ordering nachos as a personality trait. The restaurant was about a third full, mostly people quietly chewing in laminated booths under mood lighting set permanently to “dusk in a theme park.” Staff hovered with polite smiles and the low-level energy of people who’ve already been asked three times whether fajitas come with sour cream. Then there were the walls. The walls were a riot of painted cacti, sombreros, and fake hacienda charm. It’s the sort of décor that feels like someone described Mexico to a man who once went to Benidorm and then asked him to design a restaurant. There were lizards on the lampshades. LIZARDS. I half expected the waiter to shout “Olé!” and slide across the floor like a flamenco-themed fire drill. It felt less like dining in Mexico and more like visiting a Mexican-themed gift shop run by a bloke called Keith. I had the jackfruit enchiladas — which, to be fair, looked the part. Smothered in sauce, hidden under a duvet of melted cheese, they arrived piping hot and carrying the faint aroma of optimism. Jackfruit is a brave choice. It has the texture of pulled pork if you squint, but the flavour of damp optimism. Still, it worked — kind of. My wife had chicken burritos and described them as “alright,” which in marriage code translates roughly to: “Don’t ask me to elaborate.” Service was friendly but moved at the pace of a sleepy burro. Lovely people, just in no rush whatsoever. We were halfway through our mains before we even noticed we didn’t have cutlery. For a moment, I considered eating with my hands in tribute to ancient Mayan traditions, but then remembered I was in Ellesmere Port, not Tulum. Now, atmosphere-wise, it wants to be a fiesta. There are bright colours, themed cocktails, and a playlist that thinks Ricky Martin is the cultural pinnacle of Latin America. But it never quite lifts off. It’s like watching someone try to start a party with a kazoo and a bag of tortilla chips. Suggestions (from a self-appointed Fiesta Consultant): • Replace the lizards with live maracas. Or at least glue googly eyes to them. • Include a “Spice Roulette” menu — one enchilada is secretly filled with Scotch Bonnet hellfire. Make dinner exciting again. • Add a dramatic “Guac Table Service” where someone in a sombrero makes guacamole at your table while narrating their heartbreak in Spanish. • Hire someone to slowly strum a guitar in the corner and look wistfully into the distance, just to create that moody telenovela vibe. Final verdict? Not a bad meal. No disasters. No flavour epiphanies. It’s the kind of place where the food fills you up, the decor gives you something to stare at, and the drinks are probably stronger than they should be at 4pm on a school night. Exactly what it says on the tin. That tin may be made of papier-mâché and wearing a sombrero, but hey — it’s trying its best.
